Just got back from the show. Quite fantastic. Visuals were incredible, sound was clean.

No setlist surprises, it was basically the exact show they've been doing since getting Alex on drums. We didn't get Starfuckers, but oh well. Trent didn't say anything particularly memorable. There was a "it's good to be back" and short things like that.

The crowd 'round me seemed pretty responsive. Hopefully Trent walked away feeling like he got enough back from the audience.

All in all a great show. Don't miss it!

The Madison show rocked me so hard I still can't think straight.

Autolux was okay. The songs were mostly good, but that whole "devolving in shrieking and feedback" isn't really my thing. They made me smile.

QoTSA were really fucking good. I like the reaction to the dude that flipped off the band. Funny stuff.

NIN was amazing. I was on the floow the whole time, mostly up front, dancing and jumping around. The crowd was active during the entire set without being violent (with some asshole exceptions). I was complemented on my dancing after a moved a towards the back ^_^

The lighting was nice. The LED elements were less monstrous than last on the last tour, but I liked it much better. The current set-up is more practical and stylish than the three giant panels.

Great show, except the crowd was filled with assholes. I got sucker punched in the face by some douchebag right when NIN started playing, so I had to get out of the pit. Plus my friend's girlfriend was getting squashed - yikes.

I thought Autolux was really good... as far as the dummer goes. Holy SHIT was she damn good at playing the drums. She should've been Jerome's replacement... oh well. New Guy did a good job on the drum kit, I didn't notice him fucking up anything.

I love how all the songs are interpreted live. Only sounded abso-fucking-lutely brilliant, as did Head Like A Hole and The Hand That Feeds.

People really enjoyed the videoscreen segments; particularly Eraser.

Josh Homme was the fuckin' man. He totally ripped on this guy giving him the finger during No One Knows. "You know what'd look good? My balls on your chin." Classic.

I could do a better write-up, but I smell like sweat, ass, pot, smoke, and other general nastiness. Way too many people tokin' up in the audience; it was distracting. Oh well.

EDIT: Fixed the setlist. I had a brain fart last night when I got home, my bad. My Tool shirt REEKS so bad now. It's never going to smell clean again... sigh.

This show was amazing.

Autolux played some good material, but I think went to far on the feedback thing. One of their songs is really amazing though, and is still playing in my head.

Queens of the Stone Age played amazing. They sounded very distinct and on top of things. Haha, that shit with the middle finger was too funny.

I can't believe how great NIN was. They played nearly flawless. I thought the drummer was amazing, and played his shit well, and with a unique style it seemed. Aaron was goin crazy on guitar, flying all over the room. The intensity was there.

Great show, one of the best I've ever seen.

Wow. Really, really good show and I came home with my glasses intact! QOTSA were good...a little boring except for the middle finger dude, but good. I totally agree with lrntswm about Autolux's drummer...I couldn't fucking take my eyes off her, she was amazing. Hurt was beautiful, hopefully my picture of the lighters turned out well. The crowd was great for the most part, when I needed to get off the floor some guy stuck with me through about three songs and made sure I got out okay (if you ever see this, random guy, THANK YOU). I've got a buzz from all the weed that was floating around, goddamn. But it was great, SO glad I didn't miss it. But what was that I heard about the show not selling out? It's such a mindfuck.

ok thats what i thought! thank you for the confirmation, i paid to go to three shows earlier on this tour (seattle, portland, and vancouver bc) to hear different songs and they didnt play ANYTHING different nor a different order, so i would of been pissed if they changed up with the collector, i dont get NIN, on there previous Europe and Australian and club tour since the release of With Teeth they had been changing songs like Eveen Deeper and the Big Come down, etc, and they havent changed hardly ANYTHING on this tour, i will never follow them around again, this is kinda bull crap they cant change a few songs up, i mean all they have done so far is change deep and down in it with suck and reptile, but why the hell couldnt of they done that with atleast ONE out of the three shows i went to, NO THEY had to play the same dam show THREE times in a ROW!

Amazing. The best show I've ever been to. I liked Autolux, I bought their cd. Queens was amazing, NIN was mindblowing. The setlist was beautiful and they sounded perfect. Holy. Fucking. Beside You In Time. I love it.

I think he usually has people start clapping during March of the Pigs. He did that in Sacramento.

Absolutely amazing. I was in the very front, and the very center, right in front of trent. Did anyone notice when Aaron threw his microphone stand down off the stage? Well, it hit a security guard right in the head with the sharpest, heaviest part of the stand. The poor guy fell and hit his head again on the railing. There was some blood on the ground but a lot on him. It looked really bad. Otherwise an amazing performance from all the bands, of course especially NIN.

I got back about an hour ago and after having time to reflect, it was a great show, but the luster has worn off. Last week in Chicago, it was awesome, (even thought I thought Alex was terrible that night, and still think he's pretty bad--but I'm VERY picky about drummers and I've grown quite acustomed to how Jerome plays the songs), but tonight it was just okay, and that's probably because the only difference was "You Know What You Are."

I was on the floor this time, rather than seats, and beside it being incredibly insane, the sound and visuals were so much better. I cannot get over how heavy the breakdown in Closer to the Only Time is and how fucking fat Aaron's guitar sounds.

Reptile...my God. It was so heavy I almost shit myself. That song rules!

But I still think the highlight of the night was Pinion. I don't know what it is, but hearing that synth "flutter" start over the house music playing just gives me gooesbumps and then the guitar comes in so loud, heavy and fat...ugh! I love it!

I cried during Hurt. I couldn't help it. It's just so powerful and emotional. Fucking intense. I love this band so much.

"The Collector" was NOT, I repeat NOT played at this show. "Pinion/Love Is Not Enough" behind the curtain was the opener as usual.

Autolux sucked ass... they didn't even look to me like they cared.

QOTSA were pretty good live - the part where Josh said his nuts would look good on that guy's chin was pretty funny.

NIN -- what else can I say... they fucking rocked the house. No major screw ups, we got "Suck" and "Reptile" - although I would have liked to have heard "Down In It". Total sensory overload.

There was no Collector in this show. This is basscially the same setlist from Minesota . Amazing show i can't hear to well thank you. Autolux was amazing such a great band they focused to much on feedback thoe live but it seemd as if there were some teqniquall problems cause the guitarist set his guitare down numerous times and futsed with his amp and some other stuff....

queens was ok i knew a few of the songs and they were good

I went to the show last night as well. The visuals were quite awesome, especially during BYIT. Anyway, Autolux sounded good for about the first 3 minutes, and then they decided to fucking ruin everybody's hearing with some wretched feedback...intentionally. Anyway, QOTSA were OK, but I just was there to see NIN.

This probably is up there with my favorite NIN concerts. Some asshole broke my finger in the pit during the last song, so that was kind of shitty, but oh well.

I hate to say it because the setlist flowed pretty well, but MIX IT UP A BIT! We want to hear new stuff that hasn't been played! Or old stuff that hasn't been played.

I can only hear Wish, Gave Up, Closer, Hurt, Head Like a Hole, March of the Pigs so many times before they lose their impact. Seriously, I'm really disappointed that Sunspots hasn't been played yet.

A day or two before Jerome had to drop out Trent had mentioned something on nin.com about looking forward to mixing up the setlists a bit. (Well, I guess the phrase "looking forward" didn't actually come up, but: http://theninhotline.net/archives/artic ... php?id=218 ) I'm sure having to replace a drummer put a pretty huge crimp in that plan. Hopefully they'll start mixing it up a bit by the end of the tour at least.

/me sidebars a bit: Man, that really was a phenomenal show. I really wasn't expecting this tour to top Fragility for me, but it seems to have done so.

I liked this show more than Chicago... I felt like there was more energy abuzz with the band and audience.

No meet 'n greet beforehand; my heart goes out ya'all who waited for hours upon hours.

Unfortunately, someone really fucked up The Spiral doings. Basically, the early entrance folk ran to the barricades at the same time as the normal ticket people.

Not that I'm trying to be all high and mighty about it; but what good is paying $60 when... all you get is a t-shirt and a poster? Not even a free backrub from Trent; wtf?

I went last night. I really enjoyed it and I haven't been in 9 years to a NIN concert so it was really special for me.
I thought the setlist was perfect. Hated the crowd. I hope I'm not the douchebag that threw a punch. I only threw a punch and an elbow in two different guys face for defense, but that was during QOTSA. I'm short and was tired of getting squished.
Alesandro is pretty and Trent is still pretty no matter how Henry Rollinsish he looks now =P

NIN started at 9:20.

Another shitty moment of the night (only for me), was when I bumped into my ex-girlfriend there. 10,000 people can fit in there... and my ex-girlfriend was 3 feet away. She also lives 115 miles from Madison.

What are the odds? I hate her. Haha.

Anyways.

During Hurt, this one guy standing in front of me was really bugging the shit out of me. EVERY TIME Trent would sing a lyric, he'd whistle obnoxiously and then scream "YEEEEEEEAH!" He was the only guy doing it, as far as I could tell, and he did it after every lyric. Drove me nuts.

At the last minute I decided to go to the Madison show. I left home around 9:30 am and arrived around noon, meeting up with fellow ETSers Artgirl9, Sugarplum and Sugarplum’s hubby. *waves hello* Had the chance to meet others from other forums – hello to you too if you are lurking

Anyway, Brandi comes out around 2ish and begins to hand out Spiral tickets to all in line. She was trying to juggle a box tickets, a multiple page list and the stamp so I volunteered to help her – thus becoming the “Stamp Beeyotch” wielding incredible power over who received the almighty spiral stamp. It was pretty cool to see that she remembered a lot of people who had been at other shows.

About an hour or so later, “Steve” (don’t really know his name, he just looks like that bouncer dude from The Jerry Springer Show) came out and gave information on what would happen if there was a soundcheck and if there was a meet and greet. Needless to say, those of us in line were pretty stoked.

We begin to hear the band do their soundcheck. Hmmmm, are we ever going to get in? Soundcheck ends. Okay, maybe we just get a meet and greet? It’s 4 pm, 4:15, 4:30 and nothing. As time ticks away our hopes are dashed. Not sure what happened here. Was it the fault of someone bitching to Brandi about premium v. standard Spiral members at the front of the line? We wanted a goat and were determined to get one.

Finally time arrives to let us in. We enter the venue, get searched, tickets checked and line up at the entrance to the stadium. We can not get in yet…seems the venue is STILL setting things up…the barricade wasn’t even in place. WTF? The venue begins to let non-Spiral people into the venue. WTF? We see other people across the stadium begin to run in and take their places in the venue. WTF? “Steve” was having a meltdown. Hmmmmm, could it be that the soundcheck and meet and greet didn’t happen because the venue fucked up? (I think Artgirl9 and Sugarplum got some inside info from Brandi on that, so I’ll let one of them comment.) “Steve” got everything cleared up and we were allowed in the venue before all others. Thanks “Steve!”

The only bad thing about The Spiral entrance was that once inside the stadium, all of us were herded together…the people there early were mixed with the people who came at 5 pm. I was able to get the seat of my choosing, but I have to wonder if any of the early-comers didn’t.

Autolux…they just keep growing on me each time I see them. I’ll definitely buy their CD. Queens played a much tighter set than I’ve seen before (Seattle, Chicago) and Josh thankfully kept the homo, fucking and drunk talk to a minimum. Oh, and we got to see Trent hanging out at the side of the stage during their set.

NIN…absolutely fabulous! But I wouldn’t expect anything less. Our seats were spectacular…first section on Jeordie’s side, first row. I had a great view of everyone except Alessandro. At one point 2/3rds of the way through the set, Trent grabbed a water bottle, walked back to face Alessandro, placed the water bottle as his crotch and squeezed it sending water spurting forward. Hah, such a little boy move! I loved it!

I tell you, these shows are like crack…once you have one you want more. Anyone up for the Philly show???

This was my first Nine Inch Nails show and it didn't disappoint. It might also be the best concert I've ever seen.

I missed the chance to see them in 2000. I was amazed at how much they played off of the older albums, not too disappointed only two songs from "The Fragile" were played (they're the best songs, anyway) and was impressed they only played a handful of songs from "With Teeth."

Good crowd involvement.

I saw the mic stand get thrown, but I didn't see it hit the security guard. I was sitting to the right of the stage, in the elevated floor seats.

The security guards were starting to be dicks during QotSA. There was that one guard who was just on an ego trip all night and barking out orders and ripping people out of the crowd and taking them backstage to the holding quarters for just the littlest of shit. Like QotSA remark to the "little bitch" and I wish that girl in the red tanktop would've quit teasing all of us and just pulled her shirt off. And the drunk girl in the cut up wifebeater...I hope you didn't lose your shirt honey.

The venue most definitely fucked up. The band people had their shit together... Autolux started exactly on time... and it only took 15 minutes for QOTSA to set up and rock out with their cocks out. Oh well.

I to remind you spiral peoples not to blame us who dont have a $60 dollor trent fix. The problem for the seating was on the venue alone, if the doors are at 6 i am gunning for rail seats when i am at the front of the line. You were screwed plain and simple. Let alone no meet and greet, i got to feel for you on that one.

Autolux, though I like their music, their preformance sucked. They didn't seem very excited to be there, but the drummer was amazing.
During queens of the stone age the crowd started to push. I got pushed into some guy and he elbowed me in the face, and pushed at my head. I got pissed and elbowed him twice in the back of the neck, and walked away. He tried looking for me in thr crowd basicly wanted to fight right in the middle. I thought the guy was a complete jackass so I just apoligzed. I didn't want to get kicked out of the concert for something that fuckhead started. He should probably be thanking me for backing down.
When NIN played Gave up I was at the end of the floor, and right as the keyboard solo came in this path just opened up so I ran through it and got like 4 rows away from the stage. It was pretty badass.

Some highlights were when trent threw his microphone into the audience during the last part of Suck. And trent throwing a water bottle that hit a kid in the face. I also noticed during queens of the stone age, there were alot of shoes being thrown in the air...

As a quick preface, did anyone else think they saw Josh Homme (the QOTSA guy) drunkenly shoving his way through the crowd before NIN came on? I swear to christ I saw him like four times pushing through people and starting little moshpits to help pass the time. I was on the floor, sort of towards the front center, saw him coming from behind and to the right.

Anyway-

I thought the show was awesome. People rocked out to QOTSA way more than I'd have imagined. When NIN came on there was this massive crushing push by people in the middle of the floor towards the front; I was front-center-ish (maybe fifty feet from the railing) for part of the first song before I had to bail out from severe claustrophobia. It was nice, though, 'cause I grabbed a spot in the stands two rows up where I could see PERFECTLY. The screen for Eraser etc. was great; I loved the reaction when they showed Bush ballroom dancing.

Setlist rocked. I don't care if it is the same they've played since the new drummer; the only song I really would've liked to hear that they didn't play is Sunspots. (La Mer and some other Fragile instrumentals would've been great too, but I knew not to expect that.) Alex is an awesome fucking drummer; before the third or fourth song was over I knew he was a perfect replacement. Aaron North is a fucking lunatic. There were a couple times when he was momentarily stationary over by Trent, rocking out, and I thought the two of them looked fucking perfect together on stage like that. Jeordie's basswork really adds something to the live act, too; maybe it just doesn't come off too well on DVD, but I thought the bass was way better at this show than on AATCHB (my only other live nin experience =( ). Not just bass, really... every song they played had something about it that made it fucking amazing, whether it was Aaron North doing some mad solo or just the rock-ified versions of songs that lend themselves more to keyboards and such. I mean, hell, I've heard enough of The Hand That Feeds since the first leak to last me a lifetime and I thought it was one of the highlights of the night.

Great show, great setlist. I'd pay to see them again.

(and as a sidenote, apparently the middle finger thing by the qotsa dude is a running thing. i was with some guys who saw the chicago show and they said he did the exact same thing, almost word for word.)

The concert was simply amazing, When NIN came on i was center area and was only able to stay there for too long (damn injuries) So i made my way out to a more safe area sat back and spectated. The visual imagery was amazing, also is it me or is were those light up display panels awesome or what? It kind of looked like pieces from a broken mirror. Yeah this concert could have been better in regards to life forms, I really didnt care to see two nasty people practically having sex when the lights were still on! The performance was amazing the crowd was a disappointment. I had a blast and will definitly go see them again.

Madison show was wonderful!
(as opposed to St.paul wich also rocked, but I now have bruised ribs from!)
I got at venue for Spiral at about 10:30 am.
The line was nice, not as nice as St. Paul (you Madison folks are too cool for strangers I guess). And the day went fast thanks to other people I saw at the St.Paul show and new friends JO3, Wigglebutt, Artgirl, And Cherryblossom!

A methed out "shim" came up and asked us to get a strange note back stage. She said she was a "fetish entertainer", she had a smile like broken glass. You could tell she was high on something fierce. The deranged note was a blathering about her services as a fetishist and her interest in making a movie with Trent and Marylin Manson. As frightening as she was every one had a good laugh, and it was decided that we needed to get it to Rob, ASAP. We gave it to Brandi when she next passed.

The venue fucked up royal, Word was that that was the night the venue managment decided to train in a bunch of newbies. The Spiral was rabid. And wile fate did seem to smile on you that got in and front with out the added cost as we Spiral members (and I am happy for you and hope you had a good time), I am very sorry for those that are Spiral members and this was their only show to attend. That membership was supposed to be like concert insurence, a paid guarantee of something special, and I think it would be wholy fair if those thusly wronged all wrote to the venue managment and demanded just compensation.

And in case her boyfriend reads this, Hello to the girl in the cute outfit and Pink and Black pigtails that I gave the front row to, I hope you had a good night and were not badly injured. I was very proud to see from my seat that you lasted the whole show there. I hope they are happy memories.

ABOUT THE VENUE...

I have this theory, and my fiance agreed with me...

All the rock shows in Madison are played at the Alliant Energy Center; all the tame shows are played at the Kohl Center.

Why is it that NIN can fill the Xcel Energy Center, the Rosemount Theatre, but they come to Madison and all they get is the Coliseum? It's becasue of the crowd that society "looks down upon."

Look who plays the Kohl Center...Matchbox 20, Sting, Elton John...wonder who are going to those concerts.

the Coliseum is semi-shitty. it's still better than the Target Center in Mpls. For those of you who were in St. Paul, awesome. I'm a native Minnesotan transplanted in Wisconsin and the Xcel Center is the greatest venue for concerts... EVER! It's good for hockey too.

Sugarplum and I saw Brandi sometime during opening acts, and she looked tired and pissed. ...The good news is that it did not affect the show on-stage one bit! Hands-down the best NIN show I've ever seen! Partly due to the ass-kickin seats we had (front row Jeordie's side) and the smart advice to stay off the floor this time...! We had a great view of the stage, and the band gave out SO much energy - I know we gave back as well!

I was at the show last night. I didn't get there in time for Autolux, and I didn't watch much of QOTSA as I've seen them before (Lollapalooza, I think). They're an OK band though and rock decently, but just don't excite me much.

NIN sounded perfect - GREAT setlist - I loved the mix from old to new. I thought the live set sounded better than the albums for most of the songs. I thought the drummer was excellent - his kick and snare really drove the songs hard. Real tight rythm section, but also great guitars and keyboards. Couldn't have asked for more.

I was dancing around like a fool during "Reptile" and "Sin." Man those sounded amazing, wish I could get a good soundboard recording of these live. I like to get into it at concerts (dance around and such) but don't really like to mosh and get hurt, so I usually stand about halfway back from the stage on the floor. Some people were looking at me like I was nuts while I was dancing aound and bumping into them a bit, but quite frankly I didn't give a shit - they can go stand in the bleachers if they dont want to get mildly bumped. I'd say the crowd was pretty good overall though.

Overall an awesome show. Trent is one of the best frontmen ever, even though he's getting up there in years.

Considering that was my second concert ever, I think I've been broken in rather well. By "broken in" I mean "relentlessly kicked the shit out of". I was on the floor and pretty damn close to the guardrail, I thought I was prepared and then I got a nice blast of WRONG to all sides of my body. I came out with only a tiny bruise on my tricep, but I'm still sore as hell.

Anyways, I thought the show as a whole was pretty awesome. Autolux was decent, in particular the drummer. QOTSA rocked, especially when that one guy was berated for flipping Homme off. NIN was, needless to say, amazing. I've always wanted to see them, and they certainly didn't dissapoint. Liked the set design, very well done. However, I'm still irritated by the Spiral membership handling, but I'm not going to let that bug me too much...all in all this show was definitely worth it.

I will back-up many people's opinions on the crowd though...a lot of assholes there. But also there were people who were getting aggravated by these knobs and were taking out there newfound frustrations out on the wrong people; namely myself who was at the receiving end of the slap from a girl because she thought I hit her in the back of the head. I just wanted to get relatively close and stay, not embark on the exodus to the front rail (although I wound up close) by shoving, stomping, elbowing, and punching anyone in my way.

BTW, Reznor is built like a brick shithouse.

Anyways, working in the concert production industry here in southern Wisconsin, I know the security guard that got hit.. he's a really good guy and I hope he comes out of it OK.. I watched it happen (I was on the rail, just house-left of center) and it was really vicious. Those mic-stands are heavy as hell on the base...

Anyway, I was the guy who caught the mic during Suck... which is incredibly funny considering at the Milwaukee show in 1999, he handed me the mic during Piggy..

The show was pulled off with amazing precision.. I am SO picky about production, I always notice all the little flaws and such... it almost haunts me... yet I never once noticed anything wrong... Maybe I was just in a daze, but anyway...

Great show, great audience, it just sucks this is the only time I'm seeing them on this tour... I suppose it'll be another 5 year wait...

Went to the show last night, what got me is how long this whole damn love of NIN has been going on for me. My first ever concert was when my older sister took me to NIN for my 14th birthday in 94, then I saw them again for my 20th in 2000 and now 25 I see them again. In all those years I went from being a little lost goth kid to a father of a wonderful 3 yr old and a ton shit between.

Anyways the show was amazing, well I guess autolux was ok. First off I thought the name of the group was audiofox so I kept getting the idea of a cheap cd player sitting on stage well everyone bitched about the bad sound. Feedback is like playing Jazz, only the people playing it enjoy it.

Downside for was no "getting smaller", I was so pumped to here that song live and nope they don't play it. It really gets me since that song has such a "get the crowd pumped" sound to it.

The the crowd was pretty good, I mean most of the time I go to black metal shows so my judgement of people is a bit off. I did have one chick who screamed at me for slamming into her but I was nice enough to informer her that due to the 2,000 people SLAMMING INTO MY FUCKING BACK i was not really able to control if I hit or not.

Madison show was great, last saw them there during the Self Destruct tour. Holy shit, it brought back some memories of being a teenager.....haha. I think I was in the old people section cuz everyone was lookin' about my age (25+) which was kinda funny.

The old/new setlist was seamless, loved it. The I totally agree with other posts in that the production was lighter with lights/screen but much much more well done and fitting to the direction of the show. The band was right on with all the songs and I was really impressed with Adam the drummer cuz he rocked that shit.....considering he's only been at it a few weeks.....really impressive.

Just wanted to give shout outs to the super Alpha Male dude in front of me. He totally checked weird crazy dude who was touching on me during the show. And shout outs to the Alpha Male 2 for also wanting to kick weird dude's ass. I told you guys I'd thank you on ETS.....so THANK YOU!

Good to see there are still some respectful males out there for us ladies. The show was great.....despite weird crazy dude getting in my space.

And if so, did it have the little breakdown at the end during the "Now, I belong..." part, where it's just bass and the bass drum, and then Trent plays his little riff? I had driven from virginia to help my mother after her knee replacement. She had complications because they gave her cumudin (watch out for that anti clotting drug!) so I spent 2 weeks at the hospital. I'd bought standard spiral tickets for madison. Got there to late to get up front but was satisfied with the seats I got. Enjoyed autolux, kinda noisy during thier climax. QOTNSA were kinda like hillbilly speed metal, lynard skinner sped up. The nails were better than I ever imagined. Better than in maryland on the last tour. I'm looking foreward to seeing them again when I get back to virginia at theMCI center. Overall the crowd was polite and it was a welcome distraction. Thanks nails!

CherryBlossom - now that's an interesting nick, too.

I stayed off the floor at this show entirely. When it's all GA and everyone and their monkey can swarm the floor at any given moment, it's just too much to fret over.

I am further annoyed by guys far away from the mosh pit who enjoy slamming into you full force when you're concentrating on the stage, so I was thrilled with my seats at Madison. No bruises!

Most likely. It seemed the ones that were being stupid about it were a bunch of steak-heads, jocks, and young neo-hippies (well, that's what they looked like). A lot of the young teenage boys that were goth/rivetheads were being more polite.

Yea I noticed there were alot of pseudo goths and emo kids there. The Jocks were the worst part though.

I was at the Madison show and thought it was GREAT! I was a little worried being a 38 year old mom of 2 and a huge fan since late college years, but I thought the crowd was a pretty well behaved! I also saw a lot of people my age in the crowd. That was cool! It was like one big happy dysfunctional family of adults and kids! Interestingly enough I got more beat up at the back of the crowd by the people I was dancing around! Trent was hot, the music was great and I was pleasantly surprised by the Queens---I like them a lot better live!

Anyway, the Madison concert was nothing less than spectacular. I saw them when they came to Madison in 1995 with The Jim Rose Circus and Marilyn Manson...anyone remember that concert? Poor Trent had the flu-he'd go off stage to throw up between songs. But he still put on a great show!
The 10/13 show was the best concert I have ever been to-Trent Reznor is an absolute genius and he just keeps getting better every year! The sound quality was excellent, the light show amazing. And 40 is obviously a great age for Trent, he is absolutely gorgeous!
Autolux was a little too much noise and not enough music, but Queens of the Stone Age were really good.
NIN puts on the best concert, bar none.

such as: you know someone with clout, or you ARE someone with clout. (you work for a record label, or have connections to the venue... something of that nature...)

No! Jordie and I didn't do it!! LOL!!! When I took the photo with him he said no tougue and I was acting like I was kissing him and that was how the photo was taken. I have no "clout" or have connections to the venue. I just know how the business works from being in a band myself. If you are nice to these people, know how to talk to them, how to ask them for favors, and don't act like a psycho fanatic of the band they are usually willing to help you out. Don't ask them to "give" you a backstage pass!!! Ask them if it is possible to be put on the guestlist. It is up to them to decide yes or no and what kind of pass you get. Sometimes they YES and sometimes well...you get the picture. I have been backstage at the Aliant Energy Center before and know where they set up the production offices. Ask for the tour manager introduce youself and be straight forward. Don't bullshit with them about how you are a huge assed fan they are VERY VERY busy at these shows. They already know you are a fan because you are there. Most people don't get passes because they are either to scared to ask, ask the wrong people, or just believe there is no chance in hell. You got to take a chance!! You only live once ya know. I do promote through Roadrunner Records but they didn't give me the passes. I had to buy my own ticket. I have had the opportunity to hang out with a bunch of bands. The first time you do you will get an idea how things work by talking to people and asking questions. Just remember that the tour and/or production manager is your best friend. I hope this was helpful info and inspiring as well.
It was indeed a great show and a special night. I love to collect autographs and photos. I have waited a long tome to meet NIN. And I hope to again in the future.
