QOTSA was BADASSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nin was incredible!

was on the right side of the stage. perfect view!

couldnt see jeordie most of the time.

VISUALS WERE FUCKING INCREDIBLE! very very touching. during eraser.

i was wearing a plaid shirt (?)

i dotn know what im wearing... err.

The houston show fucking rocked tonight. Here's the set from what I remember:

1. Pinion
2. Love Is Not Enough
3. You Know What You Are
4. Terrible Lie
5. The Line Begins To Blur
6. March Of the Pigs
7. The Frail
8. The Wretched (where i got the news from the body guards that the Houston Astros are goin to the World Series!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!)
9. Closer / The Only Time
10. Burn
11. Gave Up
12. Eraser (Incredible video that went along with it very well)
13. Right Where It Belongs (Beautiful song with great video)
14. Beside You In Time (Awesome special effects)
15. Wish
16. Sin
17. Only
18. Reptile (Always awesome to hear live)
19. Suck
20. Hurt (The most beautiful I have ever heard this song played live. I was brought to tears by watching Trent play this song on the keyboard. It was powerful, the best performance of the night.)
21. The Hand That Feeds
22. Head Like A Hole

Death from above and Queens of the stone age sucked ass. I almost fell asleep during both acts. NIN just made the night awesome. Trent looked like he was having a good time on stage and I was right in front of Jeordie's face. He looked soooooo hot!!!! definitely one of the best shows i've been too.
just got home awesome fucking show trent was crazy queens of the stone age and death from above were both great greatest night ever i got to see nin for the first time and the astros go to the world series
great show.

astros world series win added to the love

visuals great.

fucking amazing show. got to the venue at 12:15 and was walking back from my car to get back in the spiral line and fell. sprained my wrist. now i think it may be fractured. the ems came and wrapped it, told me i needed an xray. i told them i'd go tomorrow. tonight's show is proof as to why I love this band.
Bricklayer
What a fucking awesome show! How appropriate was it to find out the Astros beat the Cardinals during The Wretched. It was our own personal soundtrack. The show blew me away. This has definitely been one of the best nights in my life!
Bricklayer
Skipped both DFA and Queens and watched 95% of the game from the Jack Daniels bar inside the venue. Hopped back and forth between the final two innings of the game and the first couple of songs.

Show was great. I enjoyed the Verizon show earlier in the year more and thought the display was more intense but the crowd was into it alot more this time around. It was nice to hear Trent say more than "Thanks" for a change here in Houston.
Master of the Ninth Arch
Fucking amazing show. Both opening acts kicked ass...and NIN...well...they were a helluva lot better than the last time around.

And the visuals during Eraser were fucking astounding.
Just got back into Austin from an incredible show in Houston. I had the privilege of catching this tour's stops in San Antonio, Dallas and Houston. Tonight's show in H-town was by far the best of the three. Even though it was the same set-list all three nights, the show just seemed different. Better. The band was more energetic, Trent was vocally more aggressive and the light show was much more intense. Starting with the club tour show at the Verizon Theater in May and ending with the arena tour at the Toyota Center, it was a bittersweet finish to an incredible journey I got to take with NIN: With Teeth_Live 2005.

PS Hope Jerome is recovering well.

PSS Congrats Astros! Good luck in the Series.

Just got home and it's 4:00AM here, I'm not gonna get going on specifics right now. But DESPERATELY need a Litho from this gig, they were sold out by the time I could get the merch booth. If ANYONE has a spare, please PM me! Thanks!

I'll detail the rest, including how my stupid ass gave up a good size chunk of Aaron's guitar to some chick next to me (because I didn't wanna be a dick about it) when I've gotten some rest.

nice lighting, same old shit

good show... just got home so bare with me :)

first of all ~ if anyone cares, i was wearing blue jeans and a white SONIC tshirt (maybe you saw me..?). everything kinda sorta worked out for me. originally i had a nosebleed seat with a group of like 6 or 7 folks i was going with (all the way at the top to the right). 2 extra friends (a 'married' couple) that didnt have tickets came along to test their luck... and ended up buying fucking GA at the door... (and one of them was lucky enough to buy a spiral ticket for face value from this really cool woman we met in line) so we all split after entering. i instantly went to a merch booth for a litho and a white tshirt.

for DFA's performance i was in my original seat... nosebleeds (meh... DFA 1979 didnt really tickle my fancy... they had a few cool intros but that dudes voice really got on my nerves) until right before they finished, me and a bud from my group went walking to check all the freaks out. we ended up finding very decent seats that were facing the stage directly on the lower bowl. so for QOTSA's performance we had a much better view of the stage in our illegal seats. QOTSA defenitly put on a show... i was pleasantly suprised with the last track they played (which is my favorite from songs for the deaf). i thought they were good, but not as great as i expected.

after that set we went out to the smoking section and met up with the others. one of the 2 that got GA at the door wasnt digging the crowd as much as she thought she would (which i knew was gonna happen, shes 5'6 110 lb... little blonde chick) and ended up giving me her wristband for my seat with the group. as soon as it was on my wrist i went straight to the pit. i saw a shitload of people i hadnt seen for awhile... which was actually strange seeing as they never liked nin before.

nin's performance was without a doubt, awesomely outrageous. the setlist was the same as the previous ones which was fine... just wish deep wasnt cut. the setup and visuals where far superior to the club tour. i loved the imagery on the curtain during the eraser/RWIB/BYIT combo... very real and very emotional... the message was very strong. the pit wasnt was bad as the club tour (i was able to breathe in this one) but still pretty intense... i ended up like 5 or 6 rows behind the railing... directly infront of trent. i thought the energy he brought added so much to the performance which is something i wasnt really expecting. anyone notice he was drinking something in a cup (not water) from time to time? i distinctly saw him take a gulp from a water bottle, then a sip from the cup. any thoughts..?

anyway, im tired. more tommorow. bye bye.
trent more than likely has some tea back there...some kind of thorat coat...
_ joseph
the show was alright.
highlights: aaron on guitar (he's a fucking mad man!!!)
hurt
the astros winning the NL pennant.

They really need to bring back Jerome Dillon. The new drummer couldn't keep up w/ the backing drum tracks. He really sucked!

Best of luck during the rest of the tour to the members of the band. Trent the egomaniac/perfectionist can not be happy this morning.
Master of the Ninth Arch
Now that I've had a whopping four hours of sleep, here's how my show went.

Couldn't find the venue at first, still don't know how we managed that because we seem to have made a block around the place and then came up the middle literally stumbling over it, but whatever... Thanks to Kate (piggy28) for helping me figure all that shit out. (Hope yer wrist is ok!!!)

Arrived around 12 or 12:15 something like that and took our place in line among our fellow reznerd members. Met Kate, nincompoop, bloodroot, and a couple of other ppl. Hung out for hours. Many thanks again to the fellow who's name suddenly evades me that brought in some chicken strips from somewhere and kept our asses from starving!!! We got our spiral tickets (aka Reznerd Pass) and hands stamped. Met Justin, aka Super Fan, hung out with him a bit...Cool guy. Waited some more, then were informed that there would not be a meet and greet for this particular event. I was let down but not as much as some of the other people, maybe because I kept it in my mind that if I got soundcheck/meet and greet it would be a bonus and possibly wouldn't happen. <shrug>

One of the security guys came by and told us that we COULD carry our poster tubes into the venue, no problem. Then about 2 hours later, same guy comes back and tells us that we couldn't bring them. This actually did piss me off significantly, but I don't put that on NIN, I put that on the venue. I walked back to my car and put it in the trunk (because I had a poster in there that I'd hoped to get signed.)

We were then let into the venue. I briefly consider buying the lithographs that I needed to get then, but opted not to because...NO POSTERTUBE. I was told by someone that there would be plenty left if it was anything like Dallas two nights before. Knowing emperically that they would be destroyed by the end of the gig, I went ahead and got in line to enter the arena. We got let in, I got as close to where I wanted to be as was possible (in front of Aaron, just to the right of center.) I planted myself on the rail and then realized that I was about 2 feet from the right stacks. Never been so happy to have brought my earplugs in my life.

After what felt like forever, DFA 1979 played. They were good for what they were, I guess. I'm sure I'd have liked them more if I were a fan, but being that I'm not... meh... I'm not knockin' the guys, they played with heart and seemed to really be going for it, but just weren't my bag.

Then, a really brief pause occured between acts and Queens of the Stone Age took stage. Again, just not my bag. They were ok, but nothing I'd listen to on my own time. I'd take them over...I dunno...Britney or something, if I were forced to choose.

NIN took stage next. They played an awesome setlist, were outstanding as usual! There were a couple of things I noticed that didn't seem to go right for them. At first it seemed like the right side of the stage's lcd stuff was working, but it was fixed before long. The other thing I noticed, which I'm not sure if something actually went wrong or not, but there were two or three times that it seemed like the band took longer than normal between songs like they were adjusting something or whatever.

Like the last time I saw them, Aaron was all over the place. He broke his guitar at the end of "Head Like A Hole" and a piece of the body fell right at my feet. The security guy handed it to me, and the chick to the right of me grabbed it on either side of my hand. In a split second I figured out the following: A.) It's only a piece of guitar, not the whole guitar (broken or not.) B.) I've met Aaron North previously, shook his hand, and have his autograph. It could be argued that I've already had my 'memorable personal-ish NIN/Aaron North experience' and this chick probably hasn't.

So after staring at her for a minute thinking it over, I let go of the guitar piece and let her have it, deciding to be a "good" fan and share the experiences rather than be greedy about it. I kinda feel like a jackass for it, but oh well... I told her that she owed me for that in our next life. =P

After the gig was over, I went to the merchandise booth only to find out they were out of the size of thermal shirt that my wife wanted, but I got the next size up and she's ok with that. (She was unable to attend, so I figured I'd get her something.) Then the real pisser of it all, they were sold out of the lithographs. I had money from several ETS ppl to pick up lithos and they were out of 'em. I didn't even get one for myself. So those of you who sent me money, I've already PM'd you and the money's on the way back.

As I said above, If **ANYONE** got an extra Litho they are willing to part with, please PM me.

Thanks!

-Wil

i thought i was noticing something like this too but couldnt tell. like during burn... either something wasnt technologically correct or trentsinmypants is right. it just sounded a bit off.

hope somebody recorded the gig (DVD would be scrumptious).

Great Fucking show first of all. We got there as DFA was playing and I wasn't that impressed so we went to the bar and watched the Astros game.

Queens was pretty good I have a couple of their bootlegs so I knew what to expect and they didn't disapoint. josh was on tonight as well as their drummer who was impressive to watch.

Now on the the good shit. NIN kicked ass tonight. Trent was awsome and Aaron was badass as always. I really like his playing cause it has so much energy to it. I was in in front of Jeordie a few rows back and he played well too. I really wish Jerome was back there on drums but at least Alex did a good job. The lighting was badass. the LED's on stage were awsome maybe it was the acid but the shit looked 3D. When the screen came down I wish I would have dropped back so I could get a better view of it but at least I could still see the band through the screen up close. I thought the crowd was pretty weak at some points and maybe Trent noticed it too. He said something like "Now thats more like it." after Wish. Or maybe a lot of people were still watching the game for the first few songs.

All in all it was a hell of a show and hopefully someone recorded it.
Master ad Vitam
oh man what a show. first of all, right when i drive into the parking lot, (the far side) i see alessandro messing around on his phone, so i started freaking out (not literally, but close) and i made eye contact with him! but then he got up and started walking down the driveway, so i grabbed my copy of with teeth and a pen, and went after him. when i saw him, he was way down the driveway already, so (i probably shouldn't have done this, now that i think about it - it might have probably bugged him) i start running, and scream "alessaaaaandro!" and wave the cd in the air like a crazy person. he stops, looks back at me for about five seconds, then keeps walking. i was still running at this point, but i had to stop because the guards yelled at me. jeez, i hope i didn't bugg him too much. oh well, it was a memorable experience none the less. anway - so nine inch nails starts, and i get really excited. i was slightly to the left of jeordie, about two people away from the rail for most of the show, right behind some guy with pink hair. the show was amazing, although at my angle it was a bit difficult to see the overhead images. love is not enough is sooo fucking good live, it sounded ten times better than the bootlegs. everything was great. at one point jeordie took his bass off and looked like he was about to smash it, but then he just walked away and grabbed a new one - which was sorta funny. aaron smashed all kinds of stuff at the end of head like a hole, and i could see the band for about ten seconds after they left the stage. incase anyone else here was by jeordie, i was the six foot white teenager with short brown hair and the white tour shirt on. i may have been pretty easy to spot because everyone else around me was wearing black - i don't know.
Best fucking show i have ever been to...... I was the one painted in the face with black and white and the LED blue belt buckle that scrolled NINE INCH NAILS...... can any one remember?
Master ad Vitam
i remember, was it white face with black lines?

didnt see ya neon... i was more in the center though.
Bricklayer
Was I the only one who saw a keyboard fly and almost hit Jeordie? I was on the right and this happened on the left ... I can't be the only one who was looking over there at that specific point in time.

Anywho...

The show was fucking great. definitely in the top 5. I'm still energized and I'm still tired.

*It's all just bitching below, you can skip*

However, I can't get rid of the smell of smoke (various kinds) and B.O. out of my clothes. I can still feel all that dirty, dry, untreated hair caressing my face with it's harsh nastiness. Also, I understand moshing and crowd surfing and all that other shit, but why do all the kids that were there think it's okay to just be fucking rude. That includes all that PDA and cuddling. You don't go to a show and make everyone around you uncomfortable with sonic booms of your fat rubbing against your papa bear and his fat. And what's with girls hating eachother just because one is prettier, taller, or thinner than the other? Get over it. Why do people forget when you go to a show it's to see the artist? ... And not to try prove how tough, pretty, funny, loud, or judgemental you are.

Eh, I'm a ... what do I know?
Bricklayer
After three shows what else can I say but Awesome fucking show. I bought my litho before NIN went on which sucked cuz I couldnt be in the pit and When I went up stairs after head like a hole there was no one at the merch booth and plenty of lithos left. But now im tired of driving. errrrrr

BTW what is up with people showing up in NIN shirts to these shows?? Thats a big no no! :-P

LoL I think I can see my mohawk in that first picture.
My boyfriend is in that last pic. I must have been in the bathroom or something when it was taken.

I went to all 3 Texas shows because NIN is my boyfriend's favorite band. QOTSA is mine, so the decision to travel the state this week was an easy one.

Even after seeing the other two shows - the Houston NIN concert was THE best concert I've seen EVER! The closer we got to the front, the more fun it was. The Houston crowd had the best energy of the 3 cities.

I am in awe of NIN. Their live performance is so full of energy. Trent Reznor is a freaking rock god. He blew me away. And on a shallow note - I am totally crazy about his new look.

We couldn't get any NIN pics because of the moshing. We tried during Hurt, but it was too dim and foggy. We tried to get a setlist, but all we could score was a schedule.

All of the Astros stuff topped off the night. It was a great night in Houston - I was thrilled to be a part of it.

I'm already anticipating the next NIN tour.
BURN !?!? my question is are they performing BURN !?!? like they were earlier in the year like in philly and NY, were the beginning is stripped sorta of the "harsh" synth sample and it builds more? or is it more like the one on NBK ?
Prince Adept
They are playing the same arrangement of it they've been playing all year, every night so far on this leg of the tour.

it sounded not so great though... not loud enough or something (compared to the rest of the songs).
hey just wondering if they gave out any backstage passes at the houston show? i was fortunate enought to get one last time but not this time..the show was none the less than awesome..i was about 3 rows back, directly in front of jeordie..we were lucky enuf to catch one stick and get one pick..cant wait for them to return!
love is not enough sounded a lot better live than i thought it would and so did beside you in time

I was on the left side and I saw a keyboard land right in front of the stage behind the bodyguards. I was like where did that come from.

As you know the show kiccked ass.

Only complaint is that i wasn't long enough. I mean he didn't play Down In It or Starfuckers. Aparently he didn't have anough time to think up a set so he used the prior one from the Fragility Tour. It looked exacly the same cept the 3 screens were replaces with jagged ones that lined the top and bottonm of the set and there were flourecent tubes.

I never understood why Trent likes to play behind screens. The played the first song totally behind this screen and used it later for projections like the Infamous Hurt video from The Downward Destruction Tour. The sounds, lightining seqeunces and even beginning and ending were exactly the same as on The Fragility Tour.

Ohh Death In 1975 sucked so bad I had to leave the concert area for awhile. QOTSA weren'tgreat until the end when they played their hits. But when NIN came on and the sound system was cranked up I was so happy
Bricklayer
Fantastic concert! Right in front of Trent, came out with blisters on the back of my arm and a sprained neck from this guys ass falling right on top of my head while crowdsurfing. Ack! Here are the pics that I managed to take. Just follow the link and keep checking next. There are like 20.

The Houston show at the Toyota Center kicked major ass! Much better than the Verizon show. I got the whole neck/headstock w/3 busted strings from the guitar Aaron busted up. There is a pic of him swinging the guitar on the main Spiral page along with a crowd pic that I'm in. I saw Rob taking pics and I had put the guitar piece under my shirt and wasn't able to pull it out and hold it up in time. He was walking along the front snapping pics pretty quickly. I got some of the worst bruises from this show than ever before. Thanks Rob for all your hard work! As the saying goes, "NINE INCH FUCKING NAILS!" LoL! I will post a pic of the guitar piece I have and the one of Aaron busting the guitar. I have drumsticks, guitar pics, setlists, and countless other things but this is the best thing I have gotten so far from a show. Not only that but from my fav band. What are the chances?! Here is the link to the pics...

And not to try prove how tough, pretty, funny, loud, or judgemental you are.

Eh, I'm a ... what do I know?
