Did anyone catch what Trent said at the end of HLAH? I couldn't hear since it was too loud.

As for Autolux, they were pretty good. Not my thing, but tolerable.

Queens were Queens too. Not much banter from Swivel Hips. He ripped on Berkeley a little bit and thanked everyone since it was their last show on the tour.

Not much else I can add about NIN that everyone else has said from the other shows. Trent thanked us for hanging in there due to the rescheduling and then something else at the end that I didn't catch. But it was a great show and they were dead-on with everything. Can't wait to hear the recording!

*Edit: By the way, why does it say "Cocks Arena" in the thread title? The "Cox (or Cocks) Arena" is in San Diego, this was at the Oakland Arena.

i think it should also be noted that us oaktown spiral members got a soundcheck which included 3 songs : Even Deeper, Wish and Getting Smaller. totally awesome

Damn, the show was great, Gonzo.... at the end I believe he was saying how great Oakland, SF, and the Bay Area are and then thanked the crowd for being so cool. I got like half of Aarons guitar and right before that I was all bummed cause one of the drum sticks slide right through my fingers and the guy behind me caught it and shoved it in his pocket hella quick so everyone thought it hit the ground and were looking for it then he showed me, I looked up and the next thing I knew the guitar was flying at me.

Didn't it seem he was caught up a few times when the crowd got insanely loud cheering and singing? I thought it was great and who need surprises with a setlist like that?

When did the soundcheck happen? It'd be nice if they announced these things. I bought my tix through the spiral, but call me crazy, I'm not gonna show up to a venue at 3pm for a 7:30 show unless there's a reason to

The show was good - Didn't go in for Autolux, and Queens sounded... loud. NIN was impressive as always. I haven't caught any other shows on this leg of the tour - have they been playing the full set straight through at a lot of the gigs, as opposed to taking a break between Hurt and the 'encore'? This was a suprise to me, in a good way, and it definitely seemed to keep the energy going in the crowd - it was crazy when they hit HLAH.

Amazing show and great energy...Definitely much better than the Sacramento debacle. I also got to see soundcheck; simply amazing. Finally, since there was no autograph session, I waited until after the show...This paid off--Trent came out and signed one item for each of those who waited for him, after the show...He was a nice guy, made it a point to shake each person's hand and chat, before signing each item. Quite a memorable night...

What a great day. Got to the Spiral entrance a little after 1200. Meet up with the ever cool Trentsinmypants and Rectalbarometer. Thanks once again for letting me stash all my stuff in your car. Around 4 Brandi gave everyone a NIN guitar pick and then pulled everyone waiting in line for the soundckeck. Actually we got almost 4 songs, just caught the end of The Wrectched. No meet and greet unfortunately, I do not think I am ever going to get my Warfield litho signed. After the sound check we sat in the Arena until a 5:50 and then they let us go to the floor. I found sitting around for an hour and a half a little irritating because I thought we were going to be allowed to go outside again. All my stuff was locked in Rectalbarometers car, so no smokes or silly phone for the whole show.

Autolux was cool, I was hoping to get their CD but none of the Merch stands had it that I saw. I think there are at least 2 new T-shirts, the one I remeber was a charcol one with pretty small print of the tour stops. The Litho for tonight was the original 9/30 one, the Spiral tickets also. I guess they did not feel like throwing down the money to re-print everything.

Queens of the Stoneage were in my opion kind of mellow espesially for their last show. Josh only bagged on Berkley and that was it.

Nine Inch Nails was so on it tonight. It was an incredible show! They sounded so good, the lights were perfect, the film part was even cooler with the kick ass breaking glass effect. Trent said sorry for cancelling the Sept. 30th date and thanked everyone for coming back and he appreciated it. I would say the arena was 3/4 full. The floor and the lower level were packed. I looked around a few times and most of the seated people were standing. The crowd seemed to be really into the show. Even if the setlist has not changed much it was still a great show. Was cool hearing With Teeth, Dead Souls and Deep. Was a damn good show. Wish I could see the San Diego show, would be so cool to see Saul Williams, his CDs are great! Wonder if he will join Trent on stage.

Can't wait for the Santa Cruz show! It will one of the only redeeming events for a dismal December with its crummy x-mas. Last chance for me to get in on a meet and greet this year. Been a great year for NIN concerts. At least next year I'll get to see them again. Now if they will only be in Italy when I am there next year. Trentsinmypants and Rectalbarometer hope your drive home was alright and you guys are not to exhausted for the San Diego show, rember to post a good review and I'll see you in Santa Cruz.

Definitely a great show tonight. They never cease to amaze me.

Perfect setlist, perfect performance, sound, lights, visuals, energy.... everything.

Alex is playing spot on.

As ModAngel pointed out, the crowd in seating was pretty responsive. Not the wildest floor I've seen, but hey, we're not Canadian.

BAD ASS SHOW!!! I'd say the best NIN show I've ever seen. (only seen 4 but it was amazing!) Trent was in high form tonight for sure. Can't wait to see peoples pics and videos!!

Great, Great show!!! I saw Trents in my pants i know you dont know who i am but i figured it out cause i saw you at the soma show and this one and the sacremento one. Your the asian guy right? Anyways back on subject. The show was perfect, the crowd was crazy as fuck. I had to get out of the center after 4 songs. I think trent put alot into this show because he had to reschedule. You could seriously hear it in his voice and the way he was using the F word to emphasize alot of the parts he usually doesnt. Met alot of cool people. I didnt get a chance to ask your guys ETS name but just so if you read this i was with jay danail and ryan!

He thanked QOTSA and Autolux and said we were a great crowd. Amazing show, as always. Trent never disappoints! I'm so damn impressed with his ability to give such intense performances night after night. Aaron made me laugh careening into the drumset and across the stage. And the crowd was great. I was close to the front on the right side of GA and had a wonderful time. My faves tonight: Gave Up, SICNH, and Dead Souls.

Pretty great show tonight.
What made the night for me was when I thought I saw Sweeney walking by so I yelled out his name twice only to get a "whhhhaaaat?!". I had nothing to say to him when he looked up at me... so I complimented his site. He seriously blushed at me. I swear.
I didnt actually think it was him at first.. other than the fact that he was the only bald security guy there.. and... I used to watch Jerry Springer. Haha.

awesome show. By far the best out of the 18 i have seen. The boys were right on and didnt miss a beat. Alex is super intense on those drums and i think he is filling in Jerome's shoes perfectly. Oakland has got the be the best audience too so far. Everyone was getting into every song and that was pretty nice and refreshing.

Queen's set list was almost completely different from the early shows. I pretty much liked every track they played and Josh was more under control then he was in the past.

Not sure if anyone posted what trent said (and im too tired and lazy to go back and look) but at the end of Head Like A Hole he says "We'd like to thank Queens of the Stone Age and Autolux for coming out and thanks again to you guys. Good night." or something along the lines of that.

I wasnt able to get my recording gear in so i dont have a recording. I do know that two other people did record the show so dont worry guys.

Anyways, after driving 9 hours im ready to hit the shower and then take a much needed nap. It was nice to meet everyone and ill see some of you in San Diego to night

you crapping me? he actually came out, damnit... I could have gotten that part of the guitar signed or my ticket!! I waited around for a bit but needed to catch Bart. You could tell he really liked the crowd.

Yeah, I missed the soundcheck since I couldn't find the super-secret Spiral entrance. They should have just said the "employee entance" and I would have found it right away. Anyway, I parked and was walking next to the arena around 4:00pm and heard The Wretched being played inside. So I started running around, but couldn't find it in time. Oh well. Sweeney came out and said they cut the line off at 4:00pm for the soundcheck, so I may not have made it anyway. Oh, and he said that 126 members made it in!

Also, it took me a while to realize Alessandro had a keyboard on the floor. During Deep he was playing one keyboard standing up and the one on the floor with his foot!

And yeah, Aaron seemed more "ninja-y" tonight than I've seen him at other shows (I've seen 3 others this year). It was during March of the Pigs when he knocked over part of Alex's drum kit and then he went over and to Alessandro's keyboard and literally got on top while he was playing and jumped off. I guess I know what his favorite song is!

The other thing I noticed was during Hurt. Right when Trent was getting ready to sing the next verse, either he chuckled or his voice cracked as someone in the crowd yelled something incoherent.

And thanks to everyone who responded to let me know what Trent said!

*Edit: When I said "No surprises" for the setlist, I wasn't trying to be a jerk. I was just posting it for those who come to this section just to see if anything new was played. In fact, I loved the setlist! First time in 10 concerts I got to hear Deep and Dead Souls!

I'm pretty sure the thing they played before Love Is Not Enough wasn't Pinion; it sounded similar, but it was more like 30 sec - 1 min of chord/synthbass/chord/synthbass... at least that's what I heard.

Did anyone else see Jerry Springer/That Guy Who Looked Eerily Like Springer leaving the show? If so, was it him or wasn't it?

Also, I swear there was more weed in the Oakland Arena last night than there was at Coachella this year.

Hey Gonzo... where abouts were you in the crowd? Where you in the hectic mess of the crowd in the front, I'm afraid to know how crazy that looked from the rest of the crowd but I know at one point I moved from my spot to get knocked over like 10 feet one way then 10 feet the other way and ended up back in about the same spot, dead souls was definitely amazing. I know what your talkin about with the chuckle thing during hurt, was it when that really loud girl in the way back tried to yell I love you trent? even her yell was slurred and no, didn't think the no surprises thing was jerkish. My body is fucked up today, I don't know how some people go to sooo many shows unless they hang back a bit or have seats. It was great though, my first time in the pit/GA floor and well worth it. Glad I didn't have any friends with me that I would have had to find later on.

Yes, it was Pinion. In fact, that's how they have it listed on the setlist (I saw the actual setlist at the soundboard). It may not be exactly the same as the album version, but then again neither is March of the Pigs, Right Where it Belongs or Closer. Or even the beginning of Only (I'm probably forgetting others). By the way, I know some of those are remix versions, I'm just talking the traditional album versions.

I was near the soundboard (on the floor, obviously), since I didn't want to get my litho messed up in the sea of humanity. I've seen NIN enough times and have done the rail/smushed stuff before, so I stayed back and enjoyed the show from there.

I only caught a glimpse of a litho someone had from across the floor because I am currently too poor to afford one of those lovely things, but what I saw I think had the 9/30 date on it still, was that how they were or was it the new date and stuff or was there anything stamped on them to show it was resheduled?

We got a sweet soundcheck of almost four songs. I didn't really see Rob taping anywhere...did you guys? The show was full of energy. This was the fifth time seeing them this year, and I have to say this was a better performance than at the warfield shows...which I thought were hard to top. Being center on the rail was easier than I thought it would be...When you're that close it is incredible to see every little thing the other guys are doing on stage....Aaron was whipping his guitar around much more than I had ever seen, and Alex was beating the shit out of those drums! Damn....the keyboard dancing was entertaining as well! Trent was on fire. Highlights were SICNH, Dead souls, and Suck. It was awesome that Trent talked to us outside after the show.

The show in Oakland was insane. I can't believe how on fire Trent was. wait..... yes I can. I thought it was really cool they let us all in for soundcheck AND we got to hear Getting Smaller, there had to be at least 100 of us. We also got a cool NIN pick. Some were red and some were gray. During the soundcheck some stupid girl was like "Thanks Sweetie", Trent was like yeah cost you 20 bucks!! We all laughed.
Overall the show was great, great lights, great sound, great set list. You could tell Trent was far from the Sac point of view, it was cool to see him really enjoying the auidence. I know the clapping was cheesy, but I was having fun doing it. Also saw Justin superfan, at first I thoiught he was Rob.\
Can't wait to hear the recordings that were done. Anyone know how to get a copy??

From what I heard our usual taper could not get a tiny battery box by the non existant Spiral security so we'll all be without his sub par recording this time.

It was the house music that was blended into pinion... this happens every single show. Then the lights went out, and pinion started on it's own.

In other news, best show i've seen on this whole tour with the best setlist i've ever seen.

Last night was my third time seeing them this year (Soma & Hollywood Bowl being the other 2), and my fourth time overall, and this was definitely the best time I'd seen them. I'm glad to see others who have seen them so many more times rank this as their favorite NIN performance as well. Man, yesterday was a long-ass day. My friend and I drove up, got there at about 5:45, hung out on the floor for a while, but eventually got tired of sitting on that hard concrete and so we got up and walked around for a while. We waited around in the back during Autolux and QOTSA, and positioned ourselves well for when QOTSA finished, so we could go right back near the front when everyone went for a pee break in between bands, so we were in a good spot when NIN came onstage.

I was in the pit the entire show, and it was one of the craziest pits I've ever been in (and I've been in my fair share), but the people were extremely cool too, helping each other out when someone would fall, and a very generous girl even gave me a cup of water with ice in it. I was glad to see at least three girls were in the pit for the entire show as well, they definitely earned my respect. One of them I talked to for a bit and she said she knew nothing about NIN at all, so that was especially surprising that she was on the floor in the pit for them. I saw her after the show and said "Not bad, eh?" and she said "not bad at all" and she was all smiles, so I think NIN picked up at least one new fan last night.

That setlist was amazing, even though from reading the Tour Journals here I had a really good idea of what they would play; and the band was just incredible. The biggest surprise of the night for me I suppose was how good With Teeth sounded live, since that's not one of my favorite songs on the new album. Trent was really giving it his all in that song, even if it was a little surprising to see him onstage with a tambourine during it

Immediately after the show my friend and I drove straight back home where I was showered and in bed by about 6:30 am, and believe me, I slept like a rock. Just a fantastic show: the band was amazing and the crowd was way into it and super-cool. The driving was well worth it

This show was better than sex. I am indebted to TR and Co. forever for the experiece. This is the first time I have been on the floor for a NIN concert, and now I will never sit again. Thanks to everyone who made the pit fucking awesome.

wow. this show was amazing. this was my 2nd time seeing nin live and this blew last time out of the water. glad to hear something i can never have. these little emo bitches were in front of me and they didn't know what to do during the old songs but then they were freaking out to all the with teeth stuff. can't wait till santa cruz

Rob said this was one of the arenas that banned video (or else pay some ridiculous fee), so no "Rob video" this time. Though they still had the myspace banners/signs everywhere, so maybe there will be a video that shows up over yonder.

I think I remember you: You and your friend were close to the arena entrance/semi-truck docking entrance, right? If I remember correctly one, or both, of you took a photo with Alessandro...I was about 5 people down: Brown hair, facial hair and glasses. Agreed: The cold was well worth it.

Agh god. This was my third time seeing them. 2nd this year. I was at the Sac show in september. The crowd this time was so much more into it. And I was so estatic he played dead souls. i can now die happy. and did you see that huge smile on his face during hurt when the crowd was singing so loud? that was the best ever.

wasn't the show awesome though Krackblam! The absolute best I have ever been to. Trents stage presence was insane and I can't wait for Reno. That Alex C. is an animal on the drums HOLY SHIT!

I think you missed the joke. You know how you slip the bouncer at a popular club $20 to let you in, even though they aren't supposed to let people in. Yeah, now think of that with Sweeney letting you into the soundcheck.

ok, so i just remembered that i took some video with my digital camera and ill post these when i get home (along with some pictures). I got almost 2 minutes of SICNH and then a good minute and a half of BYIT. Audio sucks ass but this was shot from the floor so its pretty close

Damn! I really wish that I had stayed afterwards. This was my first NIN show even though I've been obsessed for a decade. And he does not disappoint. That was the best live show I've ever seen! The funniest thing was watching grandma and grampa two rows down from me rocking out with their grandkids.

If you were the spiral members I talked to before hand that did not make it for soundcheck and were talking to me about having tickets to the Santa Cruz show, a married couple and an engaged couple that were friends? If so yep, I remember you, I thought bout asking you to take a pic of me at the show with the guitar and if you would be nice enough to email it to me cause I didn't have a camera. I had dark hair and goatee, nin club tour shirt with the tour dates, right-center of the stage only a few people back. There was another red head that was talking to me about the guitar when people were leaving though and asked me for a piece but I'm pretty sure you were the first person I described.

My first NIN concert and it was unbelievable. My friends and I bought tickets to the Santa Cruz show to enjoy it again.

Dray - We were right near you. My friend had his hand on the neck for a while before giving up and pulling the last guy off you. We were both really jealous.

Ya, sorry if anyone was hurt in the process (I got a few cuts myself!) but after I got a hand on that guitar there was no way I was leaving the arena without it! Thanks for the helping hand by the way, much appreciated!!!

Yeah, we both got pictures, but they turned out shitty. Alessandro was really nice. So hopefully in Santa Cruz we can get him to take another. If I have to, I'll bring the original pic and tell him 'you don't want me showing that off!'

What a awesome show. I also thought With Teeth sounded spectacular live even though I didn't particularly pay to much attention to it on the album.

Did anyone else notice the insane amounts of people getting wheelchaired out of the coliseum from the right hand side of the stage in the seats? And also those big undercover guys walking around??

Nonetheless, a great show. I thought Queens of The Stoneage was awesome, but the vocals were a bit loud.

Damn! That, and the part you captured (which is the best capture I've yet to see of that, btw) are my two favorite moments. Hopefully someone will get a good clip of that second bit, or better yet...we'll get it on an official DVD.

In some ways I feel like BYIT is the simplest song on the setlist, but also the most intense and it's definitely the emotional climax of the show for me.

by far the best nin show that I have ever seen! the sac show sucked balls compared to this show. Trent and Co. even played Dead Souls and Deep!!! and not to mention With Teeth!!!! it was so cool when everything stopped and trent was left playing the pianio during the breakdown in With Teeth. I was on the rail infront of trent the WHOLE show! I can't believe it. I have some pics, but I have to figure out how to post em. I took them right as NIN was closing with Head Like A Hole. We got one of the better setlists and by far a much longer set list then most shows. Trent played for almost 2 hours. The preshow was great too...we walked in on trent singing to the wretched, followed by even deeper, getting smaller, and wish =) I almost wet myself watching nin perform for such a small crowed of about 50 people....It kicked ass!! I heard that trent came out after the show to sign shit and talk with people...if I knew he was doing that I would have stayed, ohwell, there is always next time......
