ok....I'm sitting in a shitty-ass Travelodge a few blocks from the Electric Factory, just got back.

As usual NiN kicked ass.

If you have been following the tour pretty closely thus far, then there is absolutely nothing new to report.

They played pretty much the same set list as the 1st Night in NY.

Sin, SICHN but no EDIETS.
No Big Come Down
but we did get "Love is Not Enough"

now I get some sleep, eat me free "Deluxe Continental Breakfast" and get geared up for tomorrow night.

P.S. For those who care, Dresden did Girl, Acronism but no Karma Police and no Missed Me.

The Philly litho is very nicely done.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. I just got home. I am fucking destroyed. I know the songs that were played but I can't give an order, but its pretty similar to what I've seen.

Just got back.... I feel like I just climbed out of the rim of hell and it was fucking beautiful. I was about 4 people back from T Reznor for the last 10 songs or so and only people who have been there can understand what that is like. I was at the NYC show on sunday and this show had almost an identical set list except they did not play Getting Smaller. I think the crowd tonight was slightly tougher than that show. I have been to about 10 nin shows and tonight trent really looked like he was having a good time. Everyone broke into happy birthday to you at one point and he seemed to enjoy it.

One more to go tomorrow night...

i was about 3 people from jeordie this time around, and on Sunday @ NYC i was about 4 people from the stage as well. i must disagree that the philly show was tougher. At NYC i lasted untill march of the pigs, before i couldnt breathe anymore from the pressure around. here i did without any problems.
setlist seemed pretty identical to that show as well.

and as another person said, at one point crowd broke out in a "happy birthday" song, after which trent said "thank you, thats pretty cool" and "alright, now i gotta stop smiling". i was talking to amanda from dresden dolls after the show that TR might not be approchable after the show because he had a "bad day". his stage presence seemed a bit more relaxed than during the Sat. show tho.
all in all, the show was excellent, even tho i got kicked in the back of the head at the end of "head like a hole".
at one point after the show leo threw trents towel, and a quick battle ensued. the i realized that im fighting over other mans sweaty towel and left home.

there was alsoa girl taking pics with this antiquated looking analog camera. i wonder how those pics came out. i was the bearded guy in a bright yellow shirt next to jeordies part of the stage.

This show f**kin rocked. Trent seemed pretty happy with the Happy Birthday singing. He had to force himself to stop smiling. They kinda ended suddenly, wished they did an encore. But the show was great, can't wait for the big tour in the fall. Philly Loves You Trent...

there aren't really words for me to describe this night but I'll give an attempt. it was my first ever NIN show, and I didn't even have a ticket until well into dresden dolls' set when rob sheridan graciously handed one over to me. for that, rob you are the man thank you SO much. I was waiting with friends of mine since 2:30, I was the blonde in a black skirt and hoodie that said "...he had it coming" on the back in case anyone cares. I saw someone from here and from the listening party but I apologize for not remembering your name.

I came in while the dolls were doing "coin-operated boy" and while I am a fan of their's to begin with I thought they were great too. brian is a fiend on the drums. got to meet them afterwards which was nice.

so yeah this was my first time ever seeing NIN live, and I was not disappointed in the least. I got a couple of pictures but for the most part they're kinda blurry. if anyone really wants to see them I'll post them but I'm sure someone ended up with better shots than I did.
I had myself a nice spot by the exit doors, didn't have to put up with a pit or people acting stupid and I had an excellent view of the entire band. whoever thinks jeordie just "stands" there is ridiculous, he seemed pretty active to me tonight and looked to be having a great time up there.

everyone broke into happy birthday at one point, as was mentioned already.
I love what was done with "closer", it really makes the song sound better in my opinion. could have done without those really bright flashing lights throughout the last few songs though, I think I'm still seeing [sun]spots.

unsure of the set list, they played a good amount of songs I think but not too much from the new album which is kind of odd you'd think they would play more of it.
trent didn't stick around, security kept telling people not to bother and to come back tomorrow night and trent tore ass out of there in his car.


anyways, sorry that review is kind of all over the place but I had really great time. bring on the fall tour.

I got to the electric factory at 2 pm, and the show started at 8. I got pretty sunburnt waiting out there - it actually wasn't that bad, the waiting that is. Both the people in front and behind me in line were from West Virginia, and they were pretty nice people. Pretty much everyone I talked to was nice. I met some people I met before - Rob, Dave and Samantha - who I met at the NIN listening party. After the show I met up with this older guy who was waiting in line with me for tickets. There were A LOT of people there early. I heard the earliest got there at 10 am. By 6 I ran into my pal Steve who I met at the Mars Volta, and he let me butt in line with him and his friends who showed up at 12:30. Awesome. I spent most of my time calling anyone and everyone on my cellphone and saying hello.

I started off in the third row with a perfect view, but as the night wore on I was further and further back. During the Dresden Dolls the crowd was awesome, and weren't pushing or anything. The Dresden Dolls fucking rocked. They played about 8 songs, including a cover of War Pigs which rocked. Their best song, I don't know its name, but it went "Coin... Operated Boy.." It was really really good. Their drummer is really insane, and very good. I also really like the chick - and I could see up her skirt the entire time. I heard they got booed off the stage in NYC, but they got a lot of big pops here. I'm probably going to get their cd.

After TDD left, about 25 minutes of waiting and NIN came out. I can't say how awesome they were. It seemed like the other members of NIN were mere specks, and the light and everything practically made you focus on trent and trent alone. Something I Can Never Have and Home were early highlights, as was Sin. The band had a really great energy - especially the other guitarist, I forget his name right now, ha. Trent also had an amazing energy. I don't know what happened, but he really did get really buff. I mean REALLY buff, it was sick.

But about a half hour into the show I started getting really really tired. Trent and the band were throwing water into the crowd the whole time - how nice. I was sweating so much my fingers were pruning up. I eventually got pushed back into the crowd during songs like The Hand That Feeds. I ended up with all the moshers, but it was cool because all the moving around let me get some fresh air and made me feel better. Plus the sound mix seemed better there - about 15 people deep. I could still see Trent fine so I wasn't that mad about it. All during the show there were billions of crowd surfers, and I made sure to punch them as they were being pushed forward. Some other really good songs were Love is Not Enough, Burn, and Even Deeper. Closer with the Only Time was really well done, also. At one point we sung him happy birthday, and he replied "why thank you."

By far the highlight of the night was Hurt. The crowd was singing along and all, and it was just perfect. After that there was a bit of a pause and then they played Starfuckers - which was really good somehow, and then Head Like a Hole, which blew everyone away.

I still can't believe I just saw NIN. It was so surreal. But at the same time, I got fucking destroyed. literally destroyed, I could barely walk out.

god damnit i wish i went to the show!!!!! im so pissed the tickets sold out so fast.......i cant wait until the fall

• Burn and Gave Up win the best of set for tonight.
• Burn also makes good use of that lighting system they have in the back.
• Those christmas tree light things next to Alessandro and Jerome are ugly.
• Star-shaped toenail clippers sometimes eat glass.
• I was able to buy a lithograph, which I don't feel like taking a picture of right now. In fact, forget it, this camera I have sucks anyway.

crowd up front was VERY unfriendly at NYC, i dont know what the heck you are talking about. it was same 6 assholes that kep yelling things out, but they were very loud and obnoxious.

The loudness of the show was perfect. my ears dont hurt at all. yay.

i hope to be destroyed tommorow, too.

Agreed, TDD were more welcome tonight in Philly except for some jerkoff in the bar area who yelled out but was quickly shut up by Brian (the drummer). TDD was still awesome, and I enjoyed seeing them from 4(?) people back from the front.

When Wish started up, I could barely breathe and I couldn't see shit since I was crammed up against the taller girl in front of me, eating her hair. Call me a pussy, but I did that all throughout the NYC show...I opted out this time instead. I'm glad I did because once I made it to Aaron's side of the stage, I was able to stand near the side-rail and on some little raised up wooden thing bordering the railing (I'm short, I needed it). I had a great unobstructed view from there on out and I was really able to take in the lights and appreciate the production value of the whole show.

The setlist was the same as NYC (Sunday) minus Getting Smaller and The Collector, and the order was slightly different - they ended around 10:30 which seemed a tad early.

I think the whole band had much more energy tonight than I'd ever seen before. "Suck" and "Love Is Not Enough" went over with tons more energy (comparing this to what I saw in NYC) and it translated well into the crowd. I believe tonights best was either "Burn", "Gave Up", or maybe "Wish" but I didn't get to see much of Wish because at that point I was still eating hair. I can't remember during which song Trent jumped around like a crazy man, but I thought it was funny how he had to hold back when he jumped into Aaron North to avoid killing him...

Also, the "Happy Birthday" thing was hilarious...I thought Trent said something to the effect of "Ok now everyone stop smiling" after thanking the crowd, but other forum reports differ. It was funny anyway...I'm glad Trent got a smile out of it.

One more comment, although I know the guy probably can't read let alone comprehend full ideas - DON'T GET DRUNK, DON'T TAKE YOUR SHIRT OFF, AND DON'T MOSH TO "Something I Can Never Have" YOU DUMBASS.

i went to both NYC shows. DD did not get booed off the stage. As someone mentioned, on Sunday the drummer tried to rile up the crowd encouraging them to get the F off the stage. I think people were just way too anxious to see NIN to give DD a chance.

There was also some funny shit that happened before the show that made time go by. Crazy philidelphians.

oh ok yea, you were only a couple of feet behind me. Did you see the crazy gut that ran out of gas and parked on the curb. He came right up to me and my friends and just started talking to us. I think he was fucked up or something... it was bizarre. Also i was up on the balcony, i was right next to the guy who kept booing the dresden dolls. i myself didnt really like them all that much but i had the respect not to yell shit. also the drummer was fucking awesome, and thier cover of war pigs was done great.
But in the end NIN killed everyone. i thought i was going to fall off the balcony cuz i was headbanging and goin nuts.

Just got home from the show and i agree the show ended quite suddenly, i was talking to some fans who saw the first new york with the same set and they said they got getting smaller and the day the world went away. Well on the way out i met the dresden dolls and asked them why they didnt do karma police, and they told me there set was cut short becuz

That would've been pretty neat waiting in line at a movie theater, looking behind me, and seeing Trent Reznor anxiously waiting to buy a ticket.

HA, that is pretty funny. Yeah the Dolls have normally been doing 8 songs a night, this time its 7. You guys might get lucky tomorrow night and get a few extra songs to make up for tonights truncated show.

anybody have any details regarding how easy/difficult it was to take a small camera into the venue?

I was able to easily take in my camera, I haven't developed the pictures as of yet. I'm not entirely sure how they came out, as the crowd was rough. But they didn't give me any trouble at all with the camera. Granted, I had it kind of under my little coin-purse/pouch thingy .. but still, the girl who patted me down said that's fine.

People yelling mean things during TDD set was so obnoxious. Some asshole kept yelling, "SHAVE YOUR PITS", to Amanda (she doesn't shave her armpits) and I thought it was so rude. TDD set was incredible. I've been a fan for about a year now, and when I heard they were opening for NIN, I was ecstatic. Amanda is so incredible! And I agree with everyone else, that Brian (the drummer) is insanely well on drums.

This was my second NIN show, as I saw them back on the Fragility v2.0 in Maryland. I had crappy seats though. THIS time however, I was a little to Trent's right, a few people back from the barrier. I had a clear, perfect view of Trent the majority of the night.

I was one of those lame assholes who fought for the towel at the end. I caught a bottle thrown by TR, but I dropped it a little while later. So if anyone has a bottle with a piece of green chewed gum inside of it, that's my bottle.

I heard someone else mention the star wars thing too while waiting for the "after show", but actually TR headed back to NYC for the lawsuit thingy, so I can't blame him for gettin outta there a few minutes early with all the back and forth over a few days.

The crowd singing Happy Birthday was a nice touch

they kept talking about not using flash but cameras were allowed in with no problems at all. and I saw people using flash so I don't know if that was really a "rule" or what.

The crowd at this show reminded me a lot of NYCs Sunday night show. With the exception of one tiny 13 year old girl with her father who looked like he was in his late 50's in the middle of the floor.

I dont think they knew what was coming to them when NIN exploded with Wish. Then the screaming began for them to be let out....::sighs::

I had never been to the Electric Factory before, I thought it was a great venue to see NIN, for those of you who werent there or have never been to the Electric Factory, it's literally a factory.

[i'll try to only mention things others have not thus far]

i had a great time @ the show too . . . walked down to the Electric Factory, got there around 7:30; line wrapped around the building but moved quite quickly considering its length. my girlfriend was able to bring a camera in, in her purse no worries. we stood next to the left of the slightly elevated "handicap" area (which looked as if a few of the people in there were def. no handicapped). it helped having something to lean on the entire show because we moved maybe 2 feet the entire show. if getting super-close to the stage is of no concern to you, you could probably get there at just about any time.

1st time at the EF, hell of a place to see a show. TDD went on a touch after 8:00 and their music began to play and Amanda came on and said "we're having fucking problems" and that the Brian would play some Metallica. so he grabs his guitar and fucks around a little and after a moment starts playing the beginning of Metallica's "One" and i am thinking it would be so cool if they knew how to play it and they played the whole thing but once they got their problems fixed, their show began. they put on a good show, Brian seemed to break quite a few drumsticks. oh, and when they were having their whatever problems before their set fulyl started, it looked like Amanda was firing something small into the crowd but i couldn't tell what. anyhow, they were a more than adequate opening act.

NIN came on. played well. at first i thought aaron north wasn't nearly as crazy as previous posters have said but as the show went on, i could see what they meant. i can't remember which song it was (one of the last few) he played laying upside on a speaker next to the drummer. Jerome Dillion was played well though i don't think he was @ the most intense i've seen him. Jeordie is cool as shit man and played well and moved around a good deal (though i do miss the days of him wearing a dress on stage with MM). A. Cortini seems like stage-dressing to me (but then again so were CC & JW). Trent seemed very into it. for some reason it seemed like the show picked up a lot of energy around Suck and it remained for the rest of the show. has trent had that same black guitar since the beginning of time? at one point he fired a water bottle up into the balcony directly to the left (from his perspective) of the stage, which was funny, i could imagine someone ordering a drink and getting pegged with it, that's funny! love is not enough came over really well live; i was glad they played it. great show no doubt.

funny story: we were standing @ a location that the people who were leaving/entering the pit were walking right by us. right as Burn began, this about 5'4, 145 pound, 17-year old dude comes rushing from behind us like an ass-hole trying to run back into the pit. he's pushing (hardcore pushing i mean too) everyone aside. there was a few girls next to us that he ran into pretty hard and threw them aside. anyhow, i notice he gets about 7 feet further ahead of us and then tries to kinda push this big dude to get around him. this dude not only didn't budge but didn't even pay any attention to the dude @ all and the kid tried for like 2 minutes before he finally weaseled his way past him. if the big dude in the black marilyn manson hat and orangish shirt reads this, you're the shit man.

anyhow, lastly, it was funny to see people outside after the show trying to sell un-official NIN shirts. ugly as hell; blue and pink. bleck!

I got roughed up in the pit. I was about 10 feet from center stage.

First time in the pit, second nin show. What I learned sucks about the pit experience is I could'nt sing along and breath in that hot, sweaty lagoon.

I actually thought I heard something different from rez about the birthday song.
After our singing, I thought he said, after hesitating, "I thank you, I thank you." But more people were still singing as if they came into the song late or just restarted the song for some reason. And the second thing I thought he said in response to that was "okay now, that's enough"

i could be wrong so lets take a votteee.

Anyway awesome show.

At the end of the show i came close to catching a drumstick, but i did leap up into the air (exageration) and catch a full water bottle from Leo himself. I made some good eye contact with him so I knew it was being sent my way. sweeet. See you all there tonight, but this time i think I will enjoy the show from the balcony. the safe balcony.

Yes, the show was percievably short.

I saw Jadezuki and AdamSelene in the line, but, unfortunately, couldn't find them in the croud before or after the show. Oh well, I really wanted to meet more people.

I saw somebody who I thought might have been Meathead (tall & wore a black suit).

I saw somebody who looked like Mormolyke in the very back during the Dresden Dolls set. I stared at her because I couldn't be sure, but was too shy to ask.

Same kind of thing with Rob Sheridan, who came out while I was standing outside waiting for LoverOfLucifer and asked me if I needed tickets. I just stared at him, too, then said "No."

Sorry if that felt uncomfortable, I really wanted to recognize some people there.

I had an extra ticket that I sold for $40 to some sad-looking kid. He was one of the group of people who were very shyly looking for tickets (i.e. just sitting there looking sad). Among them was a funky old lady, and I met her inside later. She said "somebody" from Nine Inch Nails came out and gave them something so they could get in (couldn't tell what, it was loud).

There was a guy who looked like The Dude who was also looking for a ticket for himself, but I thought he was a scalper. He got in, somehow, too.

The scalpers were hilarious. First, they asked for tickets, then they sold them, then they panhandled after the show and tried to sell (fake?) NIN t-shirts. It's a full-time job!

My main regret is that I didn't meet more of ETS.

You should have said hi!!! Levi was outside waiting for Paul, but since it was my last chance to catch the Dresden Dolls, I went in and watched them without him. Directly to my left was Meathead (you passed between us), and to my right was GentleRed. I don't think Anita was there when you went past, but she had been there a few moments beforehand.

Was it just me or were there a lot of people passing out. I kept moving around and inevitably someone would drop to the floor right in front of me. I got so tired picking unconscious people up to surf them out that I thought I would pass out. I had to recover on the side during Gave up before going back in. I was the skinny dude with the white Octoberfest shirt on. I was mainly in the front and center area. Great show.

i wish that they played more from With Teeth. Hopefully tonight.

A great show. My only complaint is that the sound mix sounded awful at times, at least up against the barricade. It made it hard for me to totally get into some of the songs.

Aaron is fun to watch -- he perpetually has this intense, upset, confused look on his face. Sometimes, like during SICNH, it was just perfect.

Last night was a blast! I still can't believe how great it was. I did get hurt right in the middle of Head Like a Hole. My knee is a little mess up and i now sport a new crutch. It was WELL worth it though, i had a great time!

echoing everyone else's remarks, a truely amazing show. This was the only show on this tour i was able to make, so i chose to make a day of it getting to the EF at 630am, in hopes of being at or near the front. to my surprise, no one else was there yet (later one of the truck drivers was surprised at the few early numbers also). ppl apparently camped out in toronto, but not in philly. by 1030, there were still probably only 10 or so people. BUT, the people who were there were very chill, and we had a fun day hanging out before the show.

So, doors opened promptly at 7 (cameras allowed), and i ended up dead center on the railing. Before TDD, Trevor (sp?), aaron's guitar tech was down talking w/ a bunch of ppl in the front. a very cool guy -- turns out, after the mishap at the NYC show, no one ended up getting fired, although trent was SUPER pissed.

TDD were very good (brian was especially entertaining). I thought that the ppl up front were very warm to them. as mentioned earlier, only a few in the back/bar were yelling trash.

NIN were amazing, esp. from the front -- a must for anyone who can get there super early -- definitely worth waiting all day for the spot.

opening w/Wish certainly got things moving right away -- the strobe effect is also quite good during this song. I was very impressed by each and every one of the guys -- surely trent is front and center, but i would not go as far as to say that everyone else is merely a speck -- jordie was very into it, and is maybe not as head banging intense as danny was, but has a different, commanding presence. Aaron was all over the place, guitar flying this way and that, up and down; legs up, legs down. Alessandro very chill, but does what he needs to do behind his setup (what a sweet stand for the main synth). Jerome was great as always, even w/ aaron nearly knocking over the set. no need to mention trent. he goes without saying. AMAZING.

one surprise looking back on things, no major destruction of equipment. aaron used just about everything to play his guitar (amp, mic, mic stand, drumstands etc), but nothing was completely trashed. only a little water on the synth too.

overall, simply a sick show. no complaints at all, even if there were a few less songs than NYC. it was still NIN.

i took a camera full of pictures, and will try to post them when i get them developed.

I was curious if anyone has any good pics from the show. I left my good camera home b/c I was unsure if we could take it in and brought a crappy one-time camera. My pics turned out alittle but were really dark. If there are any pics/vids please post.

Definitely enjoyed the show. I was also at the Sunday Hammerstein show, so I was a little disappointed that it was about the same setlist.

I arrived at about 1:30, had to sit in the lot for about 45 minutes waiting for some people to leave so I could park, I didn't want to have to keep feeding the meter. By the time I got in line and was giving my friend (Narcissus) directions to get there the line was out on the street.

Both at New York and at Philly we managed to find some cool people in the line. There was a girl to the front of us who seemed pretty cool who read the forums and a girl to our backs who was also fun to talk to. Plus the guy in the "fuck" T shirt was pretty cool.

I was in the ANAmal.net tshirt(a new defunct website that my friends and I used to run). One annoying part was the people who didn't seem to understand the concept of a line and kept asking us if it was the beginning or the end of the line right by the fucking door. Duh?

When we got in we were about 4 people back for the Dresden Dolls, I like them more each time, Coin Operated Boy and Good Day get stuck in my head. That drummer is a fucking maniac, and the version of War Pigs they do is just awesome.

When Nails came out we were quickly crushed and after spending the entirety of the Hammerstein Show in the pit we decided it was time to move back and maybe SEE the show this time rather than just feel and hear it. So I moved back to where the soundboard was and in the process lost Narcissus for the rest of the show until the parking lot.

The performances were awesome, at Hammerstein my favorite performance was Home, and here it was definitely Reptile. This was my third time seeing them as I had seen them on the Fragility Tour back in 2000 at Merriweather.

All in all it was pretty badass, A++++ WOULD FOLLOW FROM CITY TO CITY AGAIN. Etc. etc.

Gotta say to all you people in the front who seem solely interested in beating everyone around you, what's up with that? And all the people in the back not facing the stage and having conversations with each other loudly... why even come?

wonderful show, much much much better than mondays. I am a huge icarus line fan, and thus was rediculuously excited when aaron joined the band. i thought he was pretty tame on monday, but now understand why people have been calling him a mad man in this band, as he was in icarus.

last night was my first time seeing nin and also my first time up front and man, was it awesome. definitely worth the 7hrs i spent in line.

during the dolls i was behind this 7ft guy which pretty much kept me from seeing anything. there were three or four of their songs i liked enjoyed but the rest i thought were boring. by the time nin came on stage i was pushed up to second from the rail which made for a much more favorable view.

i did learn never to leave my hair down again (i apologize if it bothered anyone behind me) because it kept getting stuck and i'd have to wretch my head around to get it so i could move (the motion of which is what i'm guessing made the guy behind me think i was not doing so well, having a bouncer pull me out during HLAH) thanks guy behind me for caring even though i was ok

i wasn't sure what to expect, being in the front and being as small as i am (5'2) but it was easily bearable save a few moments of severe squashing.

trent looked and sounded great with none of the major technical snafu's i've heard about at other shows. i was slightly disappointed at not hearing more with teeth but since i hadn't gone to any of their other tours, it was cool to see some older songs. my favorites for the night were MOTP, Sin, Gave Up, Burn..pretty much the only one i didn't get into was Home.

i came away a zip-up hoodie, which i love. i wanted a tee with the dates on the back too but i didn't have enough cash after $65 i handed out for the hoodie.

the only regret i have is that i didn't talk to anyone..i thought i would force myself to do so but then i chickened out and just stayed shy. oh well. still had a great time and maybe i'll get a second chance to meet some of you in the fall.

Well it's true Jeordie wasn't moving around like he was back in his Manson days, but maybe that's because he wasn't coked up out of his mind. I'll take him the way he is now and be happy for him.

It would be no surprise to hear NIN closed the set early to go catch star wars, especially knowing how big of a Star Wars nerd Jeordie is alone.

Yes, I definitely do. That guy was awesome for letting NIN fans piss in his place without ordering. He seemed genuinely jealous too that we were going to the show.

It's all good though, my friend and I went and ate there directly after the show while waiting for the lot to clear out.

im a canadian, my first time in philly, my first nin concert, and it was probably one of the greatest nights of my life. mostly.
i was the guy in the dark black batman t-shirt with the arm scars(coincidentally almost behind a guy with a dark Joker tshirt) during the line (got there around 4:30), the guy and girl in front of me were cool, and the two guys behind me were neat too. wish i asked all of their names.
finally getting in, i ran towards the stage and got about 4 people in. realized i should piss before the show, and came back and i was now 7 people in. damn. oh well.
once it started getting tight and packed, me and all the people around me apologized in advance if we hurt eachother and promised not to take it personally.
my absolute first time in the mosh pit, and probably my last. my chest was almost crushed to nothing, but goddamn if i dont remember every single moment of it, especially almost falling over but still managing to put my fist up into the air with everyone else during Wish ("FIST FUCK!").
i ended up leaving the pit at the end of March of the Pigs, getting help to heave my ass into the air and to the front. sorry for crowd surfing, but some of us just can't get out any other way
walked around the rest of the show, got a pretty awesome spot on the empty stairs for a few songs.
bought everything i could get my hands on.. and waited for day 2...

I shall post my anecdotes shortly, but I would just like to give mad props to the hired security at the venue.

I was at both NY shows, and I must say this show was way more intense than the other two. I was caught off guard in the wave during Sunday's show, but let me just say that this was a Tsunami compared to that! As soon as the show started, everyone including me went nuts. I thought standing on the right side next to the rail on the step was a good move. Then all of a sudden, everyone pulls away from me to the left.....the comes smashing toward me full force! I spent the first 2 songs facing the rail with my arms locked, feet planted, and butt out fighting for my life trying not to be crushed against the rail. All the while turning my head toward the stage singing at the top of my lungs. My "little" brother (who is way bigger than me now) was with me. He had never been anywhere near a pit before and certainly did not expect this. He kept asking me if I wanted to pull back, to which I screamed "No way! I live for this shit!" I thought for sure the crowd would tire out a bit like they did it NY, but it never happened. And everyone kept apologizing to each other for the elbows in the ribs, which was one of the nicest things I've ever seen. And anytime we had 2 inches of room, we'd all be jumping up and down. Fucking incredible. At one point (when I was getting very tired), some big dude stood to my left with his back to me, and when the crowd would shift in my direction, they would just bounce off him. Thank God for that guy, whoever he was.

Hilights for me were when the lights were out on stage between 2 songs and the crowd took the opportunity to sing Happy Birthday, and the "OK, no more smiling" comment. I also didn't think I'd appreciate the crowd singing along to Hurt, but when TR would sing quietly, the crowd would sing quietly too. That was a nice touch. OH, and during Starfuckers when the "Don't you" went on for so long and I kept waiting for a nice "Fuck you", suddenly TR exploded into a giant ass DON'T YOU for the ending. Unexpected and kick ass. Fuck, I can't believe it's all over for me.

It was also my first time waiting in line for hours, and the people around me were cool.

I'm flying back to Florida tomorrow, and my connection is through Atlanta. It's killing me that NIN will be there and I won't be seeing them. So I am really hoping that I miss my connection so they put me up in a hotel and I can take a cab to the venue and buy a ticket from a scalper, or perhaps get one from Rob Sheridan.

I also forgot to say that I am still fucking sore from Wednesday. It's like having crazy sex and not being able to walk the next day.....a very nice reminder!

I have to say that the concert was great! The Electric Factory is a GREAT place to see a concert. I regret that my digital camera has shi**y audio and you can't tell what song they were doing when I try to watch the videos. The songs were great and I wish I would have been able to go to the Thursday night show also. I was able to meet the Dresden Dolls after the show and they signed my CD and I got a picture with the two of them. The drummer was very very nice but the lead singer seemed a little less friendly, overall though their performance was awesome!

Some drawbacks for me: I was on the top level for the 21 and over crowd and there was some old b**ch in front of us that put her legs across 4 stools to save them for her friends who were running late. Then to make matters worse her FAT friend sat in front of me and blocked my view for a while, I ended up standing on chairs. Also some girl who was obsessed with Nintendo had poodle hair and it ended up getting in a lot of my photos, I will have to crop that out.

I hope to get tickets to more NIN shows this fall when the play at the larger venues.

And to make matters worse, in the middle of "Hurt", when everyone is sharing this special moment with Trent, what do I hear but two of the guys shouting about how they would do anything for Trent. Nothing spoils an intimate moment better than hearing some drunk, Phish-dancing stoner talk about how he would suck Trent's dick or allow him to shit in his mouth. Gah, why is it always the men who say such things? :P

I'd say it was funny, but she looked pretty scared.

Hey, thanks for the link. The first set of videos has ended but there were a few others in the viewer's other items. I've been looking for a DVD of this show now I just hope it's a good copy. Can't wait to see it. Now I need to find one for the second night, couldn't make it to that one and heard it was better than the first. Plus, I saw some great shots of Trent in the audience, man am I jealous. If he only had done that the first night.

was that the girl who kept yelling "skullfuck me trent" or some shit like that. i was there with my sister, and my t2 fiends, and she kept hitting on my friend, she was drunk and high before the concert even started. if i remember correctly she was standing on 2 barstools. i didnt really pay too much attention to her, as i was jumping around during the songs.

Damn, that certainly sounds just like the girl Orestes and I encountered. She was more annoying than the couple making out next to me on Thursday night. At least they were quiet.

I got my DVD of the show in the mail today. In my nonexpert opinion, the audio and video quality is very good. My only complaint is that you can't really see the crowd other than hands and feet here and there.

For an unprofessional video, (as in not authorized by nin) the DVD is AMAZING. The audio is also very well done.

Best $20 spent ever.

That guy is no longer a registered user on Ebay. I think he changed his name b/c there is someone who has the exact same dvd's that he had and the same description. The price got lower too. Now they're only 15.00 plus 3.00 shipping. I believe he is listed under Reagan88. He still don't seem to have the show from May 19th available. I emailed him but still no response.

Nope, looks like the cameraman was in the back balcony, behind the VIP area, facing the stage. And for a boot, there is very little fan chatter. Now I can watch "Hurt" without abnoxious fans. :P

the bootleg dvd of the show is awesome! i made a dvd cover to fit in a dvd box if anyone is interested. i will upload it to the web and post a link so it can be downloaded.

i used a dvd insert layout program so everything fits great.

I was at the Electric Factory last night to see a show. I talked to one of the security guards who told us after the first Phila NIN show that TR left right away to see Star Wars. He remembered me from that night. I asked him if it was true. He said probably, yes. TR left immediately after the show through another exit at the venue (underground somewhere -- not the exit near the busses), which is how we missed him. TR's people told EF staff he was off to see SW...Whether he actually did or not, who knows. I believe the guy since he had nothing to gain from lying to me again.

Anyway, I'm still on a high from the NIN shows in Phila. WHERE ARE THE FALL DATES!!!!????

i want that dvd too, but the problem is that the guy won't respond to emails involving that dvd. my guess (and this sucks if it ends up being true) is that he is probably annoyed by how many other people started selling his show on ebay and he may also be mad about all of the people that downloaded the torrent of the show for free. so maybe he is gonna keep that other show locked up now, which is really annoying because if we could only get one of the philly shows, most people would agree that the second night would be the better choice. and what makes it a little extra annoying is that this guy had received approx. 1000 positive feedbacks so far this year from selling bootlegs. this is annoying on 2 levels. one, he was able to get away with selling this stuff for months, but as soon as he is selling nin, his account gets terminated. and two, he has exploited various bands for a total of about 1000 times in just around 5 months with each transaction ranging in value from $10 to $20...so he has made several thousand dollars on this stuff, yet he is still gonna keep the second philly show to himself, for what i'm assuming are at least somewhat selfish reasons.

i'd actually assume that the seller doesn't read this board, and i don't think i've posted anything that suggested that i believed otherwise. and i wasn't simply calling him selfish in general, i was trying to say that if after making 5 digit figures by selling bootleg videos in just 5 months that he was going to hold back on releasing the second night because he didn't want other people reselling his video and taking away from his profit, then i would call those selfish reasons. but my statement was merely hypothetical...for all i know, he could be dead or something.

i borrowed the dvd from this dude i know. the DVD chapters are a mess (each one doesnt take you to the next song but rather another random place of the performance). I am converting it so I can apply some good chapter markers. Im also slapping a dvd menu on it and enhancing the audio. There just isn't any low end.

yeah, i noticed the weird chapter placement as well. for most tracks it's just some random place in the middle of the song, and i believe some songs don't even have a chapter mark in them. if what you're doing ends up being worthwhile, you should consider making a new torrent and seeding it for a little while...assuming you have the bandwidth for a 4 GB torrent.

I had never been to the Electric Factory before, I thought it was a great venue to see NIN, for those of you who werent there or have never been to the Electric Factory, it's literally a factory.

That was probably me and my father mentioned there. But me not being 13 or tiny makes me wonder even more. But I was infact there with my father who does look like he's in his 50s and we were in the middle where he wanted to stay. I knew it was going to be harsh. You could feel them moving in right after TDD got off stage. But I don't think we started screaming to be let out. But I don't remember a hell of a lot from the show other than just the band playing. The show was wonderful and I would do it again. The upcoming wachovia spectrum show won't be as good which is disappointing.

There is a guy on EBAY who has the May 19th show on DVD. I just received it on Saturday. It's pretty good quality. The only thing is, it ends somewhere in the middle of Head Like a Hole. His member name is youcantprayalie. It's listed for $17.00 and there are 5 available as of today. Just alittle info if anyone wants it...
