Nice to meet some of the ETS people from Florida, Chris his Bro and the crew. The show for me served a dual purpose. One to experience Nails up close and personal and two to see if I can still rock with the young folk.
I think I accomplished both without coming off too dorky. It was cool to talk to young people who had never seen Nails before. This was my fourth show, 2 times on self destruct tour 94-95 in Chicago and once for the Fragility v 2.0 in 2000 Atlanta. Most of the people I spoke with said this was their first show, that they were 6 or 10yrs old when Downward was hot. But you know what, that was cool.
Anyhow after March of the Pigs I had to relieve myself and boy I was glad to leave the pit and let youth rule. I enjoyed watching the rest of the show from the second blacony over the stage. Atlanta fans and from afar ya'll Rocked the Tabernacle!

.Not me, but it easily could have been. All my Atlanta friends said I shouldn't drive all the way downtown, but should stop in Marietta or thereabouts and catch MARTA to downtown. I declined, because I'm a little more familiar with downtown Atlanta than they may be aware. we ran into rob sheridan shortly after the show and he told us they were in a rush to get to houston as quickly as possible, so that might have something to do with it.also wanna say hi to all the ets peeps i saw at the show. i wonder why he didnt do any aoutgraphs after the show not even a wave goodbye what gives.did we piss him off or something?

1)I've been to a few of the after parties on this tour, and all the other guys from the band are there. ). Everyone from the band is there except for Trent. Good thing, because a lot of times everyone has a bottle in their hand. They aren't drunken whore fests, but maybe not the environment Trent wants to be in at the moment. Try not to beat yourself up too much, OK? 2)The poor guy was probably exhausted after flying back and forth between concerts and court dates in NYC all week and giving us an incredibly intense show like that (remember the stage dive?)to get mobbed by hundreds of fans for a few hours. And that's exactly what would happen. If he gives one guy an autograph, he's got to give it to the next 300 guys - or he gets called an asshole. Before the Sunday show I was with some friends and we were waiting next to the back entrance to see if we could maybe get Trent to sign some stuff when he came off the bus. One of my friends actually wanted to give him this cool anti-Bush poster that he had gotten in the Czech Republic, and I think Trent would have liked that. There were about 15 people waiting to start with, but when Trent came off the bus, abot 20 more people ran up and everyone started yelling "Trent! Trent!" He waved at everyone , but he was rushed into the building really quickly and didn't sign anything. And people were actually pissed and yelling stuff like "don't do us like that Trent!" The thing that struck me the most was the look that Trent gave us when he waved. It was the most apologetic, shy, and uncomfortable look I've ever seen. It was if he were saying to us, "I'm so sorry that I can't give you guys more or sign stuff for all of you, but I can't right now and I really don't think I deserve this attention anyway." I know some people might think I'm reading too much into this, but I swear to God that's what that one look conveyed - like he felt bad for not giving us what we wanted, but that he was also uncomfortable about the attention and didn't think he deserved it. And no one can accuse that guy of NOT wearing his emotions on his sleeve. It's funny, but he is so strong and confident onstage, but then staring into the same crowd offstage, he seemed so vulnerable. I didn't yell to him or anything - I just stood there feeling like a complete piece of shit for being there. I felt like I was intruding on his privacy and demanding something of him that I didn't deserve. I still feel kinda bad about it. This man gives us great music on his albums, and if you've been to any of the shows - I've been lucky enough to go to a few - then you know that he gives us every bit of himself onstage. We really shouldn't ask for any more of him.

You probably did read his expression correctly, though--I remember reading something 10+ years ago in which he told how he'd had to stop answering fan mail fairly early on, basically because he wanted to write back to everyone, simply couldn't do it, and felt bad about it because it didn't seem fair to do it for some and not others. Also, perhaps he can be such a commanding presence onstage because it is onstage--it's very much a performance using a public persona; lots of very shy people come alive onstage because they're basically playing a character, even when that character is simply one aspect of themselves. It's terribly strange to have strangers looking up to you with some degree of awe and/or expectation--I know that from even the low-level encounters of the sort that I've had, and I can't begin to imagine what it must feel like to someone like Trent, who's always felt like the geeky outsider looking in and now has people who really do see and treat him as semi-divine--the dichotomy between what you know yourself to be and how others perceive you would definitely do a number on you. (I wish I could remember the exact quotes, but he's stated on a number of occasions how he'd always felt as if he wasn't a member of the cool kids' club, and all of a sudden he's the president, but he still doesn't feel as if he fits in.) Poor guy...it makes me wish I could skritch him behind the ears, give him a big hug and tell him that it's OK, he's only human, and we really do appreciate and care about him.

I havn't been able to get any of them to DL right. When I DL them, they just pop-up with error programsd when I try to play them. Thanks! I hink I can convert flasc to wav with dbPowerAmp converter. But actually, I think my DLing isn't working right woth the dimeadozen site. What I was able to DL of the Seattle show wouldn't work - when I opened the fplder I would get pop-up "error, this program must close down" boxes over and over. And I don't think I have enough space on my computer to DL it, and I can't just DL it to a disk.
