last night i didnt get back until around 11:30 (AZ time), and that was getting out of the parking lot quickly and taking a 15 minute drive...

Well, Doba got the set list up first (and a big thank you to his friend for looking after the lihtos while we were in the pit!)

Back at the hotel with TeKnoLuSt and johnbron. Dresen Dolls set kicked ass more than last night (and I forgot to say yesterday that was great too :) I think I'm going to come tomorrow to see them headlining. Brian is a drumming god!

Solid NIN set, nice pit. Wish to start was perfect. Gave Up again, so I'm a happy, bruised bunny.

Also met a couple of random ETSers who spotted the shirt.

Now we have to decide how the party's gonna progress for the rest of the night.

Weeeeeeeee ;-)

Wow...second night, and I'm exhausted. Since I bought my lithos yesterday, I was free today to get as fucking thrashed as I wanted to get. After about the third song into NIN's set, I was forth row or so, and spent the rest of the night being bounced between the second, third, and forth rows...never got any further back than that, which kicked ass because I had a great view. The crowd was WAY more energetic tonight compared to last, and it seemed like there was WAY more people, though that's probably pretty unlikely, considering both shows sold out with presumably the same number of tickets sold.

Anyways, the setlists already been posted, nothing spectacular, but a fucking great show none the less...can't wait till fall.

one of the random lurkers here on a first post, met some of the ETS'ers out back smoking,, turned my head and saw a red duck shirt and the other custom made shirt,, so had to say hi..

This was my first NIN concert, though I have been a fan since 94,, had my cherry popped in the best way possible, nothing short of spectacular and the new stage set-up blew me away, made the geek in me smile.. never knew the LED's could get that bright,,,

couldn't remember the song he did it on though.. no trashing the equipment, but from my vantage point just a little behind the control station, looked like some water was flung onto the nice soundboard, was a bit funny seeing the tech GENTLY soak up the water with some towels, being careful not to touch the sliders..I think Trent needs to invest in waterproofing the equipment - I'm sure it's alot cheaper than replacing the boards

Reptile was badass, noticed some of the samples were from the version on the Downward Spiral DE, second disk..

Something I Can Never Have, an unexpected pleasure

Dresden Dolls - You know you love a pianist when she lets you look up her skirt. Talk about the pipes on her,, the drummer was nothing like I have ever heard or seen, glad they had some songs that showcased his talent. Would have liked to go to their full concert tomorrow, but the lithograph and 2 shirts is all the fun money I have for this month..

I will definetly be going to the second tour this year when he comes back to Phoenix with Queens of the Stone Age at a larger venue(I would assume) - seeing as this one was about 1000 capacity at each show.

That's all I have to say now,, ears still ringing, might post later after I've slept on it...

Trent's quote happened during March of the Pigs, he stopped and looked at alessandro and said "Did I just fuck you guys up?".

If the dresden dolls have ever been "on" it was tonight. There setlist was cut a little short though. I saw them getting ready to do the cover of Karma Police, but then Amanda ran over to Brian and wispered something, they ended up not doing it.

During Brians drum solo on "Half Jack". He started playing the beat for March of the Pigs. It was fucking great, no one seemed to notice though.



NIN was fucking awsome as usual. Again, seemed very "on" tonight. Maybe because he won the trial :). Jeordie, especially, seemed more into the show. He was jumping around and what/not. Picked up a few moves from Aaron, too.

Didn't do piggy, thought that was kinda odd but the show still fucking rocked, Something I Can Never Have was a great replacement, we all cried our asses off....and then Jerome took his shirt off.

Great show! I liked last night's setlist a bit more (more stuff from The Fragile), but performance is what really counts- and tonight was the better of the two. Both the band and the audience seemed to have more energy this time around. Last night I stayed toward that back, protecting my lithograph, but tonight I was front and center. Trent was a little more animated tonight, and during March of the Pigs, said something like "All you fucking pigs in Phoenix." Glad I got to hear a fuck-up free "Gave Up" and "Something I Can Never Have" was a treat. And like many have alread said, "Love Is Not Enough" and "The Hand That Feeds" are infinitely better live. Met the Dresden Dolls after the show and spoke with them briefly. Class acts all the way. What an awesome weekend!

Did anyone notice Trent's Ashley Simpson-esque faux-pas during Starfuckers? Near the end, after Trent dropped the mic into the crowd, they went into the chorus of "Now I Belong". At least, the music did, and Trent's voice came out, but no one on stage was near any mics. I'm sure by then they cut power to the mic in the crowd, plus it was definitely Trent's voice being played. I know it's a common practice, but still...

I definitely had more fun at the first show, but that was because I brought my girlfriend tonight, and couldn't rush to the front. That, and I'm still drained from the first show. Unbelievable sound either way, the best audio I've heard at a concert. Almost no distortion, dropping out, etc.

Was it just me, or did Aaron seem more subdued tonight? It was like he was forcing himself to jump around, and just looked disinterested in the show.

Other random notices: Jeordie playing keyboards during Something I Can Never Have. Jeordie and Aaron switching guitars during HLAH. Trent tossing a mic stand at a tech crouched down by Alessandro.

Besides throwing mic's into the crowd, He was also chucking his guiatar(s). One of which he dropped in between the barricade and the stage, the neck snapped in half, the only person to get a piece was a guard that swiped one up and stuck it in his pocket before one of the roadies got there.

"Did I fuck you up?"---Trent said this to Alessandro during March of the Pigs (2nd interlude right before it breaks into the all lined up mix)----his (Alessandro's) timing was off on the piano. Aaron made him pay for it later by smashing into him (Alessandro), which was really unexpected.

During Suck, Trent battles helpless roadie trying to prop his mic stand, and eventually tosses his mic to a tone deaf fan that shreaked the last couple lines.

Already posted, but seeing the gtr swap by Jordie and Aaron at the end during Head Like a Hole was great.

Rob was taping at the front of the baracde for the soundboard most the night. *although he stoped for Hurt, Suck, and some other material that is wearing on the "old school" fans. I did get to shake his hand and tel him I liked his work. He did get nailed by something that looked like a shoe bottom from the front left of the crowd, occupational hazard.

Well, more to come, but personally, I found Friday's performance more inspiring.

No Every Day is Exactly the Same either night :(

Wonderful show...disappointed that yet again no Mr. Reznor for the After Show Party....grrr....Manger of the Marquee said NIN will be back in September...I have a very bad sunburn on my back...I don't know yet if the sunburn was worth it...ok yeah it was:)...smack dab dead center very front...excellent show...really felt that "connection"...I believe Mr. Reznor's throat was soar...I saw he was drink hot tea throughout the night...Dolls were excellent...I hope to see them on their 29th show...

I noticed the March of the Pigs beat that Brian played, the crowd cheered after that, so I'm guessing alot of people did too.

Its weird seeing all of you guys say you were "front row center" because I was front row center, and I had 3 of my friends on my left, and 2 on my right. We were on the rail both nights, but tonight we really were dead center.

I caught the drumstick Brian broke during the first song and got it signed after the show which was awesome.

During Suck the guy behind me (Jim) caught the mic and finished off the song with Trent, which was also very cool.

Tonight was all around better then last night. More crowd action, better set list, Trent seemed more into it then last night.

After Head Like a Hole Trent threw the guitar into the air, and it landed on the stage headstock first. The headstock snapped off like it was nothing. It was a terrible sight to see such a beautiful Les Paul destroyed like that. Other then that, and the 3 inch wide bruise across my entire chest. I enjoyed the show incredibly much.

I took some pictures from where I was, I'm sure they came out absolutely amazing, so once I develop them I'll post them here for you guys.

Was there an actual "After Show Party" that night? The first night I heard they didnt have one, or if they did it lasted less than half an hour.

I was told there wouldnt be one this night either, on the account of there not being a backstage area...

show was TOTALLY awsome tonight.....much better then the first night. The crowd was totally into the songs unlike before, wait until you hear the recording of "Something I Can Never Have".........the crowd doesnt miss a beat with TR and sings just about the whole song. :)

It was nice meeting the following:

Fucking awesome show! It was nice seeing them in a small venue again though that doesn't mean I'll take a pass on the big arena tour.

I expected Trent to be a little bit more chatty (due to the favorable outcome of the lawsuit verdict) but it was a solid set without many mishaps. Glad Gave Up went off without a hitch, wish he would have played The Big Come Down but can't complain because Even Deeper would be me 2nd pick from TF. AA was sad because they're still not playing Only yet. :(

First of all, Dresden Dolls show was amazing. Brian's playing had my jaw on the floor most of the time. They were also very cool to chat with after the show.

NIN played a great set. It was my first show but not the last. Most memorable songs for me had to be "Even Deeper," "Reptile," and "Something I Can Never Have." The lighting for Burn was spectacular! I wish I had some video of the show.

It had to be the most brutal concert I've ever been to. To the girl that I accidentally elbowed in the head, I'm sorry. Things can get pretty crazy near the pit. Also, to the Cory Feldman look-alike who couldn't seem to keep his hands off me, Fuck you. The 20 times I shoved you off of me should have been a good indication to you that you shouldn't have been touching me. And to the dude who offered me a joint during "Hurt," thanks but no thanks.

dude, what concert were you at? t.r. tossed the mic into the crowd, someone picked it up, and that same someone sang into it as he was intended to do. reznor has done it before. at least one person at ets has been the recipient of a mic toss. chris cornell handed the mic over to a fan at last week's weenie roast in hell-ay. ice t used to let people sing along with the chorus of "high rollers" and rap part of "colors". have you never heard of this happening before?

were you just waiting to use the words ashlee simpson and trent reznor in the same sentence for months on end since she got busted? you know, just to be clever?

Not at all. I heard the fans singing, but that only lasted for a short time. Then, near the end of the song, Trent's voice came over the speakers for one refrain, but no one was near any of the mics, they were all jamming out on the guitars. I mentioned it to my friends after the show, and they all confirmed they heard and saw the same thing. It definitely didn't sound like the usual off-key fan singing, plus they had cut the sound from that mic for at least a minute or two. If it had even remotely sounded like fans, then I wouldn't have mentioned it.

how do you know they cut the sound? did you have the mic in hand or are you making an assumption? i heard nothing of the sort, so i don't know where you are getting this. reznor has admitted to using some tapes to recreate parts of songs that cannot be duplicated in any other way, but just because ashlee sings to tape doesn't mean you can tar reznor with the same brush. i can think of at least two instances where he was unable or unwilling to sing a specific part of a song where if he was singing to tape it would have been profoundly obvious.

one of those was when it looked like he was about to cough and was unable to sing the beginning of a verse. forgive me, my horrible set-list memory bars me from listing which one this instant, but that was not pre-planned and the vocals stopped.

You would think that there would have been less technical difficulties on this tour involving tronk's microphones if it were all just being played off a tape, huh.

I was just saying what we heard and saw with that song, nothing more. We were further back this time, and had clear views of everyone on stage. I agree, during other songs there were pauses where it would have been very noticeable if there was some tape backup of singing, especially considering the MOTP comment. It was still an awesome show, on par with the previous night.

okay, but that also means that you don't know that the mike was cut after all. i was second row on the aaron side. i think i would have seen/heard what you are describing.

I'm not sure why all the "I was dead center" arguements are going on but I would say I was damned close to dead center as well.

SERIOUSLY THOUGH -

EVERYONE PLEASE KICK MY ASS ROYALLY FOR HAVING TO BE PULLED OUT DURING REPTILE.

I have NEVER EVER EVER been pulled out of a pit in all my years of showgoing and unfortunately 2 days of waiting in the AZ heat, rocking the center of the barricade 2 nights in a row,3 hours of sleep and very very little food got the best of me(I had one piece of pizza all day). I got a huge wave of dizziness and did not want to pass out on the barricade so I HAD to go. I was royally pissed because I was actually the most comfortable I have ever been against the barricade but that shit hit me out of nowhere. SUCKS. I wasn't even gonna do both SD dates but I cannot go out on that note. I just can't. But absolutely feel free to give me shit if you see me there.

AZ definitely has some kick ass crowds though. I met sooo many rad people. While I was being squished to hell sans one guy behind me everyone was cool(who tried to squeeze between my friend and I and we double teamed his ass IMMEDIATELY and elbowed the fuck out of his arm haha - I love you Jenn).

Setlist was better than last nights. No Getting Smaller which was dissapointing but hopefully it will come out in SD.

Dresden Dolls were so rad tonight but I sorely missed Karma Police in the set.

If anyone talked to me or met me after the show please know I was absolutely obliterated and I apologize if I was an ass. After getting pulled out I fucking downed 3 red bull and vodkas :D

Can't wait for San Diego and there's a few of you there were there last night that I didnt see so I hope we find each other there.

absolutely. which is one of, but not the only reason, that i doubt this story.

i promise to write up my review a little later. the twelve hour drive in one day has rendered a nap a necessity.

I haven't seen a show at the Marquee since Skinny Puppy back in October. The shoe thing was weird & we were barely searched otherwise. Thought it might involve some right-wing republican plot :?

I must have been right behind you Heresy209:), I saw a female get one of the drumsticks...wedged between two females up front in the center...there was a sort of After Show Party Saturday, but it was really short...

It was an Amazing show and I agree the setlist was better on Sat. compared to Friday. Can't wait to see Muscles pull out all the stops in San Diego.

I was wondering what was up.. Glad you got out of there before you were about to pass out though.. Most people I saw getting pulled out just about to pass out.

I liked Friday's set better.. I don't know but Saturday felt shorter.

But I have no voice from screaming so much these past two days though..

they were great shows.

Yeah I liked Fridays set better except no Starfuckers. But they played Suck both nights so I was happy. Anyone have extra lithographs they are willing to part with? I would pay double the cost and shipping.

Drove out from LA.
6 hours to / 6 hours back and well worth it... but I was disappointed at the
set list.

No Big Come Down
No Getting Smaller
No Awitha teethah!

I did love burn, and catching reptile.
I hit the front pretty easy, compared to davis and coachella.

Great show in that I could watch the entire concert without getting punched
and there weren't as many crowd surfing assholes.

I'd say the performance was better than the davis show, but not as good as
Coachella (that's gonna be hard to beat)

I was going to go to San Diego tomorrow, but my fiance is coming home early so now I can't go. :(


The fall tour should be great!

Truly an amazing show. Mind fucked. Managed to score tickets to both nights and have to say it was absolutely well worth the trip down there. Dresden Dolls were quite impresive and put on a good live show. On a side note some friends and I got to meet Amanda Palmer in some bookstore off of Mill, she's so fucking cool! :shock:

This show was fucking amazing, eventhough I got kicked out for helping some girl get her camera back from this asshole who stole it in the front row. But it all worked out because I got right back in directly after getting kicked out, simply by giving a security gaurd in back $10. I have a bunch of good pictures and full video clips of March of the Pigs, Something I can Never Have, Hurt, Burn, and more. The only problem is that I don't know how to get it on the internet. I already have it on my computer. And the sound quality isn't that great, but you can get the idea. If any one knows how I can post these, I would be more than happy to. I really don't need to say any more about the show because all of you know just how fucking awesome both nights were. That show only whetted my appetite for another one. Or two.

I walked into that venue and my jaw hit the floor; it was insanely small, with a tilted floor.

I'm way too out of shape though. 2 minutes in the pit leaves me gasping. Baaad. Whoever it was that pulled me back in for one of the songs: thanks... that was fun! Maybe it was the guy I sold my ticket to.

Pit was on and off. At times the energy got sucked right out of it, and you ended up with one person wandering around in the middle looking for something to bump into. Some songs it heated up nicely. I expected it to be more violent -- there was a lot more bouncing off people rather than shoving the shit out of people.

"Something I can never have" was the only song that I really watched Trent. He seemed to get pretty deep into it, and was hugging himself while singing. Like other some ppl have said for other shows, I'd have prefered if the crowd would just be quiet during "hurt".

Which kindof gets to the heart of why the show had kick-ass physical energy, but for the most part didn't have emotional meaning for me. A song like "hurt" is sooo intensely personal that I can't take myself into that emotional space in public! Same for "Love is not enough", even though I *did* get into it at the listening party. Maybe it has to do with Trent actually being there; I'm less inclined to slip into my own world.

Kudos to the crowd for being alive. I've been to all to many rock concerts (including Fragility) where people freaking stay seated.

Loved the backdrop of oversized red and green digital VU meters for Reptile.

I was pretty suprised at how un-horrible the singing was when the mic went to the crowd... I think it also had effects on it, which is why it sounded like Trent.

Dresden Dolls were excellent. I'd never heard "War Pigs" to be so eloquent, not to mention politically relevant. "Half Jack" was intense as hell, and gave me chills.

"I can even fuck him in the arse" in Coin Operated Boy works better than the studio version's "I can even take him in the bath".

Everyone's been praising the drummer, for good reason. He broke his sick, and by the time it had landed, he already had another one in hand, seemingly without missing a beat. His bass beats were thunderous in the Marquee, and it took me a while to fully believe that there wasn't a distorted electric bass (guitar) track being played. Live, DD are a duo that pack the power of a quartet.

And a big "hell yeah" to the crowd again, for listening to DD as a band in its own right and not as a "warmup band" to be shoo'd off the stage.

Thanks to NIN for playing small venues. And for introducing us (well many of us at least) to Dresden Dolls.

My first show, and it was worth every cent I spent (and I did spend a few, getting the tickets off Ebay.) Trent looked great, sounded great, and was all over the stage.

The Dresden Dolls were mind-blowing, and I cannot wait to get my hands on their CD.

As for the big, fat, hairy, sweaty fuck who kept rubbing up against me every time he moved:
1) Put your shirt on, please. Please.
2) Leave me alone. I don't want that kind of love. :shock:
3) I don't care if you are trashed. That is no excuse to get that close to anyone.

And that's all the news thats fit to print.

See my review for complete praise and opinion on Live With_Teeth.

As far as SAT show goes, yes more people where there. But still, if anyone is reading this review and was not there, the theatre is small and nearly perfect. THE CAPACITY IS ONLY 1000; meaning there is still probably 50-60 people that didn't show up and/or spent most the time outside the hall at the bar/patio making it intensily intamate. Nearly perfect except for the stone floor w/o carpet. I know it's 1000x easier to clean, but a face plant or body slam on carpet is less damaging than pure stone.

As my FRI full review stated, the band seemed more excited on FRI, but there were some great moments (like March of the Pigs-see my previous SAT review). Someting I Can Never Have and Love Is Not Enough where the higlights for me. Meathead's [WITH_TEETH] review stated Love Is Not Enough suffered the same fate as Terible Lie (i.e. sounds better live), but I have to say in 5.1, Love Is Not Enough is the pinacle of [WITH_TEETH].

Reptile's lighting takes the blue ribbion--> very sickly, poision, dirty, nasty purples, yellows, green, and oranges. Even Deeper and Burn great on both nights. I love opening the full show with Wish. Again, Aaron and Jordie swapping guitars for Head Like A Hole was perfect.

Here's my idealistic hope-mainly for NIN(ja)...Trent (& the band) seemed happy enough on FRI ("I was having a good day unil that song"--see FRI Gave Up) from the court decession (let's face it, Trent was the first to know) that he/they spent all day SAT working on the next phase of NIN. This meant their/his mind(s) were on bigger and better things now that Malm is gone.

Haha, follow that last thought if you can.

Note: I'm a judge for The Hand That Feeds remix contest...the top 20 should be posted soon now that I finally submitted my picks (sorry it took so long).

Alright, since I'm in a giving mood, here are some pictures. I didn't take any of them, my buddy CObalt did, so it was his camera that fucked up. But we were up front, center stage, all that business (anyone close enough would have heard us and a couple other people bitching about this drunk guy that we wanted pulled from the crowd). Anyway, yeah, I also was seriosuly out of concert shape, and had to exacuate right in the middle of "Hurt", meaning I missed both "Starfuckers" and "Head Like A Hole".

And I have a newfound respect for The Dresden Dolls.

The show's were amazin both nites, Seeing NIN in the Marquee sounded great and was cool to see them play in a small venue. No comment on which nite was better. They both were great in their own way each nite.

NIN's have figured out the sound, recreating the studio sounds live is truly amazing. Using and exploring what can be done through our technology is fucking fascinating. Trent is a super sound mastermind along with other things.

Watching the Dresden Doll's perform "War Pigs" with a hell of lot more energy from the crowd.
The drum beats of Brian had the walls crawling in the Marquee.

"Burn" and the energy of the crowd during that song was intense. Seeing a flawless performance of "Gave Up" and one of my fav's "StarFuckers" which I was pleasured to hear on Sat..

Did anyone see DD or NIN throw any picks out, I found a orange pick on the right side of the stage on Sat, I kept it, it doesn't have anything on it it is blank both sides. Wondering if anyone else found one similar or if someone dropped one?

I also have some pics from Sat, if anyone interested PM "though, they are from a shitty disposable"

Can't wait for the arena tour.........

I couldnt belive it, i really can't belive that i was right there at the Marquee, 500 Km away from home.
Man... that was crazy.
I was on my own in the show, i just buy my ticket via internet and i go all alone to the show, but wtf! i was very focus on the show, maybe more that i were been if i had gone with someone not too in to NIN.

That night, my respect and admiration for The Dresden Dolls grow's up completely that night.

But NIN was... i really have no words to describe all that i feel. I was happy, desperate, angry, sad... lots of feelings got me on that night.
I almost, damn, almost cry with Hurt?

It would have been too suicidal if they were play "Right Where It Belongs" too? i think so.

Also i was very lucky:grin: :
i find five wet bucks(i hope that were water :? ) in the floor of the Marquee that helps me to buy The Dresden Dolls cd :lol: , the shoe of a guy that were very happy that someone find it, and the coolest thing of the night... a souvenir better than all the $30 t-shirts that were selling in the teather: A NIN PICK!!!!!! (thanks to the security dude that help me in my search for picks. BTW, a guy grab one right in front of me before ¬¬) and it has the NIN logo printed on in, it's a bass pick. It will scan it soon

If anything, I'd like to splice in a different audio recording from the same night, because these video clips that PhatSpliffz shot are way nice. The only problem is the music is about 95 percent drowned out...so whoever has the audio from that night...*wink wink*

Huzzah I'm finally in the process of uploading my video from the night... The quality is pretty poor I'm afraid, and it's sort of spliced together from the various clips I shot in between hiding my camera not wanting it removed from my person!!! But in total I got 36 mins of footage...

Next time I will get the whole show on my camcorder - well I'll try anyway, cause the bits of footage I have on there of the backs of peoples heads with a few fab close ups of the man himself in San Diego are great quality! And the audio isn't too bad either...

Hey ho I shall put it up to d/l when it's ready... apologies again in advance for the quality, but it was taken on a 3.2 megapixel digital camera... so you can't expect too much lol :P

Apologies also for the random guy who keeps shouting during 'Home' which I was a tad gutted about as it's the song I most wanted to hear on the setlist in the absence of much other With_Teeth material...

ok i was there on both nights but im fucking lazy, plus more to talk about on the second show, me and my girl were very close to whoever snapped those awesome pics, second (and during some shoving up front) third row of bodies between trent and aaron, the closest i've ever been... more energy on the second show, missed "you know what you are." other than that it was fucking incredible...a couple of strange notes from the crowd, with plenty of unfriendly vibes directed toward me...nevermind that me and my girl were there fucking early, but according to a small girl to my left, some asshole in back of me, and a small girl molesting a big lady to my right i am a complete asshole for not cordially giving up my, and my girls spot on row 2 1/2 ....what the fuck ...I say, if you are late, fuck you ..you can only get so close if you are late, and i am not an asshole for holding my ground and taking a crushing to help out my girl...to the elbowing guy giving lessons on how to get to the front sorry but you did not get in front of me after all...and to the two on the right or whoever the fuck you are, you confused my ass for my girls ass half the night and i have never been molested by men or women at a concert....oh and a big thanks to the blonde guy in front of my girl for helping us out during the shoving and to the bald/shaved headed huge guy up agaist the rail for supporting the weight of about 5 other people being crushed against you...and for you phoenix guys don't take shit personally, people who waited a fuckload of time to be up front are not just going to step aside and give you a clear path to the front rail/fence.. just enjoy the show....I did enjoy the marquee a fuckload and people were trying to kill me, coachella was less messy....not bitching just describing...two nights of NIN...a real deep sting/jelly like feeling came over me seeing trent play the piano up close during "hurt" on saturday, he gave it up, bare naked emotion and it transmitted all over the theater..see you guys in the fall....oh and liked phoenix a whole fucking lot...plenty of nice people around town and before/after the concerts...sorry to have i missed out on the ets hookups...maybe next time.....and for those screaming at me I apologize just for fucks sake, I'm 5'9 and not big anyway so you could all see over my head, ill be in front of the mixing desk next time.....

well, you are right, so i will take some time out to give more of the real thing...

i know, i know...but both nights are in one post...

night one..everyone seemed to just be digging the fact that we were able to see trent's facial expressions from anywhere inside the marquee, missed the dolls. Everyone went nuts with Reptile and Big Come Down...Home does not sound like a demo live, I hope they don't scrap it during the fall tour. Trent did actually get more pissed than I thought during Gave Up and said he was having a pretty good day until the mic fuck up occurred. AAron was lively as usual but I found it funny that Twiggy looks cool during the songs that assault and acts kinda funny-like he is uncomfortable during songs like Even Deeper, Home, and TDTWWA even with trent jamming with him...maybe all the years with Manson has him unacustomed to sincere, sound rich songs that don't require him or manson making fucked up faces or pissing on themselves to prevent boring the audience...

...the biggest surprise was The Hand that Feeds!!! for all the ranting on all the message boards about people fucking hating this song almost the entire crowd sang and danced along with the band like it was a TDS hit!!! no complaints here the song is infectious and there is nothing "commercial" about its message...admit it its fucking catchy ...

night 2..caught the dolls this time and now I know why everyone talks about the drummer...fuck he fucking rocked it!!! if nails loses Jerome for whatever reason he is the guy to get-fucking commanding performance...the dolls will never be boring with his drumming....on a side note I did meet him the next day at Starbucks down the street from the Marquee, nice as hell talked a little while..I mentioned my comment about filling in for Jerome and he fucking loved it...he told me about there show for that night but it felt bad telling him that I did not plan to attend after praising his drumming...did have to catch a plane though...then he forked over the batroom key and we both went about our business....

then the electricity...up front for this one crazy night...opening and setting the perfect mood with Wish...agressive as fuck different from the night before...ahh who am I kidding not just different it was better the whole fucking set was better..twiggy's live playing of the synth bass lines on his bass guitar was tighter and he was actually looking like he was feeling it ...SICNH sent everyone into a trancelike flashback, first knot in the throat of the night ..i was fucking amazed by love is not enough..150% better live and trent looked alive as shit playing the new stuff....still, the frozen moment for me was, after all the bombast and aggression, Trent hitting bottom and bleeding emotion during Hurt, moreso than the first show, maybe it was seeing him up close or something but a stirring honesty and emotion in every word and the way he played the keyboard...lightly touching the keys then taking over driving his fingers into the keys towards the end..fucking electricity running through me....others too several people shared that sentiment after the show and the crowd that was wilder than coachella stood and sang right along...then before anyone slashed a wrist or something they lauched into a rauchy starfucking, HLAH end ....fucking amazing...well off to the bootleg thread hopefully night to was captured for eternity....

hell yeah they were amazing. check my earlier post, i don't know why more people didn't catch the gtr switch. jordie had to pull out his "in ears" or monitors to be able to hear what he was playing.
