Well that was fairly amazing :)

My first NIN concert, so I don't have anything to compare with, but it's easily my best concert experience ever. I believe it's also the most sweaty I've ever been... sauna is exactly the right word to describe the conditions. I don't think anyone minded though ;)

To those who stayed even longer than I did at the end - did they ever come back on stage for an encore? Being new to NIN concerts and never having followed the online discussion, I don't even know if Trent normally does that... I was slightly disappointed.

Setlist:

Saul Williams

African Student Movement
??
List Of Demands
Act II Scene 2 (Shakespeare)
Grippo
Black Stacey
Telegram

Fairly Good, though I believe the audience never got into it.

Nine Inch Nails

Intro: Pinion
Wish
Sin
The Line Begins To Blur
March Of The Pigs
Something I Can Never Have
The Hand That Feeds
Terrible Lie
Burn
Closer
The Frail
The Wretched
Even Deeper
Reptile
Love Is Not Enough
Suck
Gave Up
Hurt
You Know What You Are
Starfuckers

I recorded some songs. I'll try to upload them. Don't know if I'm gonna make it now. Too tired and sweaty. Jerome entered the stage shirtless and you could see waterdrops falling from Trent's body from the beginning. Two boys and a girl collapsed around me due to high temperature. That's crazy.

No encore, and no Head Like A Hole. At the "Don't you, don't you" reprise during Starfuckers the lights didn't followed the song, so they all sang in darkness for a few seconds. Trent pointed at the "light man" and said something. Then he smashed his guitar to the floor, drop an entire bottle of water over it, said (I believe) "Muchas gracias" and left the stage. That was it.

Amazing show, although I hate the club. This time the air conditioning was broken, so yeah, sauna is pretty much a good way to describe it. I loved the beginning, I loved the setlist (Reptile, Burn, Frail+Wretched and Even Deeper!) but I think Trent was a bit angry with everything. Someone threw him a T-Shirt during Gave Up and he just stopped singing, and finished the rest of the song in front of the lightwall. Then, during Starfuckers, inc., someone else threw him a water bottle and I think that settled it. Trent smashed the guitar in a "fuck that" way and the show finished without Head Like a Hole. Probably not having air conditioning pissed him off.

Aaron North is nuts, he dropped the mike stand like twenty-seven times. Jeordie "Twiggy" White played the piano in something I can never have. I found Alessandro Cortini very funny.
And I like Jerome's new haircut. It's so Goth-punk-like.

By the way, I was very impressed by Saul Williams. I'd only heard a couple of his songs before, and they seemed fairly slow going (it's mostly him just talking - it's spoken-word after all). But live there was a lot more energy to it, and the music and the words and the message really came together in a whole new way.

And I never get tired of US artists apologizing for their government's actions :P

It seems to be working just fine... download in progress. Only four days left to the first London show, excitement is building up. I hope the AC is working there :)

Edit: I don't get any image. What codec is needed to see the video? I got some audio, but it sounded horrible :-o

I found unfair the way they finished the concert. Obviously they had prepared some encores, like for the previous concerts, and if Trent was pissed off by something we the audience didn't deserve to get half an hour less of concert. We were suffering the heat too, and if something was going wrong with the lights or the sound or any other technical stuff this is a NIN issue, not our.

The concert was great tough. It started with Wish and the rest came by itself. I liked the set list, we missed some songs that sure were meant to be played as encores.

Great show! And all that sweat! I really enjoyed it, much more intense and in your face than the fragility tour.
There's not much more to add, I can't remember the whole setlist so I guess nineinchcat is right :)

I guess I should talk about the Spiral meet and greet.
According to the email they sent, we should meet the tour manager at the venue's entrance at 17:45 and get in for a small meet&greet with the band, and we all got there in time... except the band, the tourbus arrived around 18:30 and they got inside the venue. After a while we were let in (roughly 12 people) and there was the band rehearsing! They played Even Deeper, Love is not enough, The frail/The wretched and Wish, that was COOL! After this, they went down and started the actual meet&greet, the usual shaking hands, little chat, photos, and signing, my friend asked Alessandro if he would like to sign on the TDS CD although he didnt play in it "I didnt play in WT either, no one did actually... not even Trent" :), Aaron was really sweet and nice I asked him for a ticket for my friend who couldnt make it to the ticket sale and said that he could be put in the guest list (yay), Jerome was really sweet too, and Trent was nice, talking about the already warm venue (the A/C was broken) when we posed to take a photo with him he said every body was tall in this town, and then we crouched to get to his height :P. And well, Jeordy seemed a jerk to me, he said nothing, didnt shake hands or look at the eyes, he signed my Antichrist Superstar CD though. After this, they took the people out and only let the premium members in, Trent was still there chatting, and the tour manager told us that we would have an invitation at the guest door at 8.
When we got in at 8, they gave us an envelope with a ticket for my friend and 2 passes for the After Show (!).
After the concert we went to get our merch, and headed up to the bar in the first floor were there was the Aftershow, There was very few people there chilling, we only saw Jerome there and talked a little to him and got some lithos signed. I asked him if they's come back to europe after the US tour, and he said they probably will tour europe again next year...
And that's all, I was too tired to wait for the other guys...
I was just above the guy with the computer and I could perfectly see the setlist, even on the screen, and the only remaining song was Head Like A Hole, so no encore was planned. I think the warmth overcome us all, even the band itself, and finally Trent thought "Let´s get the fuck out of here". Everytime the guitar was played, Trent went backwards and reached for the towell and a bottle of water. For those who weren´t there, I assure you it was absolute hell even before Saul Williams appeared.

But despite that shitty jail and its motherfucker rulers, who gained money to buy an island by selling warm bottles of water, the gig was amazing, specially the setlist. Anyway, all of us should send complaints to the organization and Sala Razzmatazz for so bad conditions to enjoy a concert despite the 35e price. At least, I´m gonna do so.

Well, the show was great eventhough i got late to the show due to the fuckin train that i took to go to Barcelona , it stopped for almost a fuckin hour near from Barcelona because a power failure and i got desperate,

i felt like i was cursed and i wanted to kill the train company bastards but i didnt want to waste my energies cause my main concern was trying to reach the show

so when i arrived to BCN i took a taxi and i rushed the driver, i arrived to the venue when they were in the middle of the show during Burn so i almost could catch half of the set,

yeah like people said that was a hell on earth, everybody was sweating their ass off, the band itself, and i have to say that Razzmatazz is a shithole, they dont have any AC system, ive been several times there and its always the same, and i also saw one guy collapsing who i had to help, these fucking greedy bastards

the sound was great though and Trent sounded awesome, i found Aaron a bit static some times, well maybe i saw the slower songs of the show too.

And to the asshole who threw the shirt to Trent and pissed him off thanks for ruining the end of the show

anyway i hope to see them again next year in better conditions

sotar79
hey personal message (sorry pals) for the girl on my left (we were upstairs). you drove me crazy, god, your smile ...
see you next year for the second half of the NIN european tour, i'll go to barcelona cause it's a great city and you guys are great during gigs, i'm so tired of concerts in France.

NIN rocks and spanish audience too (especially the cute little dark hair girl mentionned above ;) )

Do you know anything about exactly who were invited to it? All Spiral members from Spain? All from Barcelona? Or just a random selection?

I'm a premium member, and I heard nothing. I'm pretty sure that's because my registered address isn't even in Spain though. I guess I'll have to wait until they either have a better system where they know which Spiral members have tickets for which shows, or until they come to my country (fat chance).

Sorry, quick question: How'd you prove that you're a spiral member? There's no way you've already received your member cards...
Amazing Show. The set list was maybe a little bit short. I missed Piggy, TDTWWA, and Dead Souls (they are playing it lately so I was expecting them to play it.)
As an Spiral member I was able to go inside the venue and enjoy the sound check. It was awesome. All the members were pretty cool. Well, White was not in the mood, but he actually signed my copy of With Teeth so I think that was good enough. The Tour manager was a really cool guy. Thanks to him we (me and my brother) got a pair of tickets and an After Show only pass. We meet Jerome there eating a burger. We were exhausted so did not wait for the rest of the guys. Anyway we got our stuff signed before the Show so I guess that it was enough.

Fuck, I was waiting to have money to enter The Spiral, I didn't think they would do anything as of yet with the concert in Barcelona. I've got friends who entered to the meet & greet with a press pass, though, and then a girl who talked to Rob got a pass as well. Oh well.

The setlist is correct. I swear I haven't sweat that much in my whole life, and I was upstairs and sitting, I don't know how the people standing survived.

I arrived at about twelve and there were already like 30 people outside. It was very very hot and though the organization of the venue moved the queue so we would have shade, it was still pretty suffocating, at least for me. I nearly fainted twenty minutes before we entered, because I was in the first positions to enter the venue and people started to push. I had my black-feather fan with me and it certainly helped, but still you were already sweating before you entered the venue.

I took a place on the first row to the left but a guy stood between my friends and I and then his friend came to stand by my other side and started to push me (all 5 minutes after doors opened). They were very rude and very stupid and the one guy wouldn't trade places with me so we could all be with our friends, whereas the other the other would keep pushing me. So I decided that although the first row was nice, I really wanted to survive, and I went upstairs. We had to sit in the floor with our legs hanging so we could see, but it was pretty comfortable, except for the heat.
(/end rant)

The concert started pretty good and there was a great energy, but down there it was hell, and after one hour of concert people wouldn't jump and sing as much. They tried to, really, but it was so hot... however I think that the audience was great, so I'm not sure why Trent cut the concert short.

It has been one of the best concerts of my life ever, but the ending was pretty disappointing: skipping the part of Starfuckers, not playing Head like a Hole... It really seemed that Trent was pissed off when someone threw a tshirt, when he went to the back of the stage and played there for the rest of the song, but that was hardly anyone else's fault, so I don't know if the heat got to them as well or what happened.

The band kept throwing bottles of water to the audience, and Jeordie stood posing for some guys on the first rows taking pictures of him, that was nice.
Also, during the end of Sin, a guy came crowd-surfing almost until he could touch Trent, so he stopped singing and said something kind of "no, come back here", but I think the guys of security got him.

I'm dead now.

Great concert, but I'm so happy to be back home with my 20ºC...

Edit: Oh, and except for the abrupt ending, I'd say that this concert was much much better than the concert at the Astoria the 31st of March. I think both the band and the audience were more... motivated, or there was better feedback, or whatever, but this has been my third NIN concert and certainly the best of them. ^^

@jaf: So far, Rob has been seen taping all the shows this tour. I hope something comes out of this.

@kaunaz: I agree with you about the crowd being quite passive at the end. Damn, I don't know how did they managed to stand on their feet. But I believe both Astoria concerts where more intense than yesterday's. Anyway, a NIN's gig is always a great experience.

Enough now, have to pack up for my trip to London tomorrow. Brixton here I come. :P

As far as I could make it out, he said: "Hey, come back... Pussy! What's the matter, can't you make it?"

I was standing, by the way, right in the middle, about four meters from Trent, and while the heat was awful I never felt in danger of collapsing, and never saw anyone around me collapsing. I had an absolutely amazing time, and if the crowd was more subdued toward the end I certainly wasn't a contributor to that ;)

I saw exactly one real mosher, he was very insistent for the first half hour or so, but no one would join him for a real mosh pit - wisely enough, given the heat.
Bricklayer
There is nothing more to say than the show was amazing but as hot as hell. It was shorter than I expected(24 songs like Paris was asking for too much.) I agreed to some of you that Trent got angry maybe it was the heat, maybe it was the audience.
I really enjoyed. I can´t hardly wait for the next shows in London next week. By the way, is there anybody from Catalunya going to attend the shows? It would be great to have a catalan NIN-meeting there in London.

Yes, yes, I'm here, leaving tomorrow morning!! (easyJet flight 5134 from Barcelona to Gatwick at 14:30) I'm spending the weekend with a couple of friends, then they come back on Monday. I have to collect my tickets at the venue, so it'll be nice to have a catalan NIN-meeting while standing in line. At the Astoria gigs there were 5 of us (Barcelona crew  ).
Envia'm un mail o un missatge privat, d'acord?

Yeah !!! More people from the Barcelona crew... but for the 13 & 14th.

By the way, the show yesterday was great, fantàstic !!!

Sorry, but how do the guest doors work? Do you get into the pit early or do you go somewhere else?
The funny thing about North was I was so incredibly intimidated by the guy cause I thought he was gonna be so mean (ya know before I met him) but he so totally is not how I thought he'd be. He's really cool.

Hmm. Well, they never did any encores in the United States, and I haven't read about any encores outside the states. It's possible they decided to do encores outside the U.S., but that just sounds goofy.

Yep. However I've seen the setlist somewhere and they were supposed to play Head Like a Hole. I understand both the band and the audience were almost dead because of the heat, and maybe there were technical difficulties (I didn't notice anything, but who knows), or maybe Trent was pissed off at the one person out of 2,500 people there who threw him a tshirt, but still I see no reason to finish the concert the way they did.

It was still a great concert to me, of the best I've ever been to. I suffered, collapsed while waiting, and still today my whole body is aching, but it was all worth it. And I loathe the... bitterness I feel because of that ending. I hate not having enjoyed Gave Up because Trent spent the song looking at the wall on the back of the stage and I was worried he was pissed off at us, and I deplore having spent the afternoon telling people how great had the "don't you" part of Starfuckers been in the Astoria, only to find he skipped that part because of who knows what.

I don't think we deserved that, specially after what we physically suffered to be there.

But the rest of the concert was fucking amazing. Trent was jumping from one place to another, it was exhilarating to see him. At one point while he was playing guitar he placed himself behind Jeordie and had to lean his head on his back, he seemed to be that tired.

Another thing I haven't mentioned is Jerome's performance. I had never given more than a glance at the drummer in a concert, but the way he played was amazing. Songs like Hurt, when he went from... blunt, to... subtle... that was beautiful.

I really hope they come back next year to Spain, preferably to Madrid this time (easier, cheaper, nearer).
the worst things were heat and parts of the public; but what can you expect when people did some fucking rhythm-clap as they were playing Hurt?

still I loved the show
(A direct translation of the text by GOOGLE is at the end, if it is wrong, FUCK GOOGLE NOT ME!).

CABRON!

No tocaste ni With Teeth capullo!

A pesar de todo mereció la pena

**** This is a GOOGLE translation, if it is wrong, fuck GOOGLE, I don't have time to put it in english ****

I went to Barcelona from Madrid with my girlfriend to see the concert.

My opinion: I divide it in sound, performance and the place.

- Sound: a really poor concert, with a terrible sound excepting some songs that sounded really well. Too much power for the so small local, something that could be guessed with the Williams actution, sure Reznor wants to have the voice of that boy, by the way. I do not know the names of the new formation and I don't want to try to do it. I was in the concert of 5 years ago in the Val, and sincerely, the sound was better, not much more, but better. Clouser was brilliant in the keyboards, Dillon at drums marked really good single perfomances, Finck I do not say anything, all we know as it touched the guitar, we go aaron this is dipped in grease and a Lohner, was the worse one to my taste, but it supported in keyboards that pleasure gave. All of them sounded brilliant, and if Reznor were tiranic or not it is then not it I do not know it, but this of now is an excrement! That guitar excrement, God, that sticks a shot to him! I believe that Reznor is making feel inferior of cojones, and as the previous ones began to take personality cepilló and were put to these tios with grains, without personality, without sound, that if, combed all to the Trent style very well, so that they did comparsa to him of which they are bad malotes.

- Performance: Good, a disaster. Reznor that single goes to I publish to say silly things, something that did not surprise to me because always it has been thus, to change to the 40 I do not believe that it is possible, all of them were very put in its paper although nobody knows very well as is. aaron as a psycotic jaled monkey dedicated itself to pursue by the scene, slight silly, already could learn to touch the guitar. The keyboards, poor men, well absent, sad, nothing who to say because they were not heard. And the others, the battery that always has been something that it has enchanted to me of the NIN concerts, an excrement sincerely, nothing, disconnect, to his puta ball. We go, very badly sincerely.

- the local: It is possible to say that in general everything was a little sad, but the local takes the best. Those mother fuckers with the conditioned air, you would be "cabrones". Good, nothing else.

That if Reznor got upset and it did not touch nor HLAH like was predicted in the set list, fuck him! he fuck me with the performance excrement that he did. I DO NOT TOUCH MAS THAT 3 OF THE NEW ONE! F($($)%($ YOU!

Good bye small, I am going away to listen to the WT in 5.1 that is the unique thing that is left me to console to me.

You did not touch nor to With Teeth!
Por qué tocaste tan mal capullo?

Why you played drums so bad?

aggghhh
It's true that Dillon sometimes was really bad (The Line Begins To Blur)and that North is good but nothing to compare with Finck... But it was a great show! What about The Wretched, Reptile or Even Deeper? And March Of The Pigs, Suck or Terrible Lie? They were so fucking good! And Jeordie White- ex Marilyn Manson's Twiggy Ramirez-? I think he is the best playing the bass that the industrial sound needs! The return of NIN in 2005 I think is like the beginnings of the band, like a fist inside you ears, not so "clean" as the last times...

I hope this will not be the last tour of Nine Inch Nails!

Manolo Caracol dice (esto y los dos post anteriores: "Underneath it all" y "about Dillon"):

Menudos capullos!

First of all, to be in front of Reznor, just a couple of meters from him, for 90 minutes while he's performing some of his best songs (Wish, Reptile, Closer, Frail+Wretched) is amazing, but...

It's impossible to stand up while a overfulled place like Razzmatazz is dancing (or hitting you to be closer), the sound is poor and the Air Conditioning is not working at all. Then, you start feeling really tired and when Head Like The Hole is not performed at the end of the show, you don't mind so much.

I guess Reznor was nearly as me, as the rest of the crowd. Passive because they had no energy.

But I agree that this band is the one that Reznor deserves. At least, by its music.

Anyway, a NIN concert is a NIN concert. 2 of 2 (Fragility Tour and now). See you next time!
Sorry! I think it's NOT the band that NIN music deserves. I agree that some of them behave as stupids on the stage, no matter "Twiggy" was really good when we has with Manson... I still remember the Manson's performance at Bikini's ...

I really think that the people of the actual band behave on stage better than the old one. Jeordie is quite calm on scene, and Aaron a bit bizarre, but Danny Lohner and Robin Finck had quite some pathetic performances, they seemed to be acting for a teenager audience.

That Blubbering Vagina was meant to be R o b i n F i n c k.
Clouser was really god on keyboards, and Dillon was better that now, I don't know why. The sound was bad, really bad... :-(

Is true that it will be here next year?
Grand Pontiff
Maybe the sound was bad from you position, I was upstairs and rarely have I attended a concert sounding this good. In general I believe the people on the front rows didn't have a good sound, but those of us upstairs did.

Great pictures, Mfx. You were next to my friends, and you have a pic like my friends... you are not of my friends, are you? ;)

I've heard that after the American tour in big venues they could come to Europe too. I hope it comes true.
Reznor himself asks to someone asking why small venues at NIN.com.
http://www.nin.com/access/3_22_05/index.php

But, I'm not sure if the second tour with big venues includes Europe.
Master of the Ninth Arch
Thanks for the pictures Mfx, some of them are very interesting and SOOOOO close!!!!!!!
shit i just can't stop thinking about the girl i talked about in my post on the first page.
now I have no choice but to move to barcelona and start learning spanish and seek for her. that's fucked up.

anyway, i've seen NIN at "les eurockeennes de belfort" on friday, (a french festival), and as I said before, concerts in barcelona are way better than in france, even when the air cooler is broken.

that gives me two reason to move ...
well, nothing can stop me now.
I had to fly all the way from Lisbon (looks like Mr Reznor doesn't like Portugal :( ) with my friends, and yeah this was our first NIN concert ever.

well, what can i say... i just had a great time, one of the best shows i´ve ever seen in all these years... despite of the fu***ng air conditioning, a few jerks that fucked up the final headlikeahole show, and some Trents attitude (he had to think of the most of us, devoted and correct audience, not 4 o 5 motherfu***rs) ...but, you know...i sincerely regret all of you that are complaining about the whole show. In my opinion, NIN equals TR so...what if the rest of the band is old or new? somebody could say they are, just for the fact are new in the band, they suck? or that they aren't professionals? i loved NIN before, today, and, if the Brain of NIN, Trent Reznor, doesn´t change or go off, for the future.

Simplemente... GRACIAS. Gracias gracias gracias gracias gracias.

Voy a verlo otra vez. Gracias!

Pere, every time i remember those amazing moments, i start to sweat!!! hahaha...

This is The First Day Of My Last Day...
Thank you, man!

Hey people!

First of all I would like to thank everybody for sharing their pictures and videos here. I did not bring my camera and it´s been so good to find these ones here!! Maupass, I´ve just seen your video, it´s amazing!!!! Thanx!! I was near the first row and almost die, it was the wildest start I´ve ever had.

It was my first NIN concert and my best concert experience ever, in spite of the heat and the end (Trent going mad, me almost dying hahaha)

The only thing I´d say is that it was too similar to de AATCHB DVD: the setlist, the order of the songs, even Trent´s gestures, I knew most of them by heart. I do love this dvd but I expected something different and more songs from With Teeth. Tracks like Even Deeper (oh god I loved that one) Reptile or Burn were really unexpected but the rest was the same I´ve seen a thousand times, and I think he didn´t ¨risk¨ too much.

I mean, I loved the show and loved to hear the old tracks, but I listened to with teeth (the song) played live on radio1 rock show and it kicked ass so I was really curious about how the new stuff would sound live. It seems that´s what we can expect of their upcoming tour in Europe next year (yeeeaaah!!!!! See the new responses in nin.com access).

Hope I´ll see u guys then

last thing ( in spanish)-- saludos al chico (argentino???) que estaba a mi lado durante the wretched-even deeper y suck y que me invitó a un botellín de agua :-) oro líquido en ¨hellmatazz¨

Hey!i ve fly all the way from Lisbon, Portugal too to see them live! After more than a decade waiting for a chance to see them live!
A lot as been said about the show, so it was amazing, truly out of this world! I almost could not believe it.
The only negative thing was Razzmatazz or Hellmatazz. Peolple and band were almost collapsing and suffocating over there...

Maupass: Great video!! Thanks!
Sterosuicide: where were you? We have meet this portuguese guy on the concert...maybe it is you?...

Espero. :)

thanks thefrail, and great pics the_smooth_sounds!

i have to say im a little worried when i think about the next year NIN Europe Tour...We all know Trent may piss off easily (no HLAH final song), and deciding not to stop in Spain...yeah it's a negative point of view, maybe Hellmatazz will have no more NIN perfomances (just the same as Mr.Manson decided acording to Leganés venue, in Madrid 1998,because
of the awful quality sound they had, and deciding not to play in Madrid in next 2001 tour)or just the whole country will not have unfortunately the chance to get to see Reznor and friends....
I wish i could see next year NIN in great venues, such as big arenas, ballrooms...If not, we spanish crowd will have to travel, like stereosuicide and smooth hehe (although you are lucky to live in Portugal, you'll have Rock Imn Lisbon 2006!!!)...

We will see...

I want to believe that Trent is not so touchy. The problem in Razzmatazz was the insane heat, and I hope that he appreciated how much we the audience suffered too, and spite of that gave everything of us to enjoy the concert. The only think that I fear is that the NIN fan base here is not too big, it took almost three weeks to sell 2.500 tickets and it would be a risk to pretend to fill a bigger hall. Who knows. Let's wait, praying.
Grand Pontiff
Well, in the access section he confirmed a european tour with a person asking specifically about Spain. He must have received zillions of similar questions, so I don't think they would have posted this one in particular if they didn't think about including Spain.

I've just read that Alessandro has confirmed coming to Italy next year, and after all the show was sold out... I just don't think they'll come back to the Razzmatazz, and I really hope they'll visit Madrid this time, for a change. But I'm counting on them coming.

In any case, it's almost cheaper for me travelling to London than to Barcelona, as I think I've said somewhere, so...

If they have to come to Razzmatazz (I don't think it will happen, because the next show will be meant for bigger spaces), please in winter. Let me say that I love Razzmatazz, the place, but what happened with the NIN concert and the heat was an insanity, strange thing that nobody died there, my mate almost passed out and had to be attended by the girl from the Red Cross... I got to know that at the end, since we missed each other before the concert started (what the hell had she in mind going to the bar just ten minutes before the beginning of the concert?).

I don't really know which is the policy of the bands when chosing cities to play... why NIN did only one gig in Spain is a mistery to me. To chose Barcelona and not any other city has maybe the explanation in the fact that who organized the concert is based in Barcelona. Who knows.
kaunaz wrote:In any case, it's almost cheaper for me travelling to London than to Barcelona, as I think I've said somewhere, so...
Yep, it's sad that it results cheaper to fly from Barcelona or Madrid to many European cities than between Barcelona and Madrid and viceversa. Well, same decade the "stratosferic" AVE will be finished...
Grand Pontiff
I don't expect more than once concert in Spain, after all, there's not such a big fan-base here. They didn't sell out the Vall d'Hebron six years ago, and I'd be surprised if they would now. Audioslave for example played in Madrid and Barcelona, but in small venues (Riviera, Razz), but for example bands like Bush or Silverchair never came to Spain, so one concert in a pavillion or two shows in the largest cities seem the adequate balance.

I believe that one of the reasons they chose Barcelona is because it was easier for people from other countries to get there. In the Razzmatazz I encountered Italian and French people, for example, and I know that for some of them it was easier and cheaper to come to Barcelona than it was for me (12 hours by train or a plane from Iberia -not as cheap as Ryanair if you come from Italy).

I really really hope they come to Madrid next time. Please. :)

Master of the Ninth Arch
Yeah, I sure hope they come to Portugal, even though deep inside I'm afraid Trent and company don't even know where Portugal is...
Maybe we could blame it on the portuguese concert promoters, over the years they never seemed very interested in bringing NIN here, they play it safe bringing Mr. "Old-Fart" Manson.
Anyway, it was an amazing gig at the Razzmatazz, not better than the Paris one, but very intense. Trent's guitar tech seemed to fuck up his guitar quite a few times, and as a result he had to face Trent's rage, which consisted of getting hit in the face with full water bottles while trying to fix the guitar. AH!
I managed to get Jerome's autograph outside the venue after the show. Really cool guy, just chatting and giving autographs to the fans.
Also, I heard a lot of portuguese words outside the venue from everywhere (estavamos em força lá! eheh!)

yes, portugueses promoters never were really interesting on the band...but on this tour they were REALLY interested...but it was TOO expensensive...and you know how things work here...all they want is MONEY. They don´t care.
So I dont believe that we portuguese will ever been lucky enough to see NIN here, the only chance is ROCK in RIO because is a brasilian organization...Im crossing my fingers..but I think I will start to save some money again to fly to the nearest country they will play...
But yeah...seeing a lot of portuguese over there was AMAZING!

i think the server is collapsed because of the download petitions, that 2 vids are on Emule yet, but i'll try to upload them again by the saturday or so
Pere wrote: [Does this mean that you recorded THE WHOLE concert? Before you posted here the entire Pinion/Wish, do you have also the rest of songs, entire?]
Unfortunately, NOPE, i only had a 256 Mb. memory card...but i clearly saw a guy by the first rows taking with him a tiny digital video-cam, he surely has a whole show recording.

Ok, we want this guy: DEAD OR ALIVE, but with the tape or dvd.

Your Pinion/Wish video is great. Fantastic.

I Lost it... Only 7 days...

Too Thanks. :-D

P.D. In Emule I saw something "Part-2 (video extracts)(live 29 June 2005,Hellmatazz,BARCELONA,SPAIN) by SOMA.
A fucking Joke?

¡y no soy argentino! :-)

Too much thanks Maupass!

[English]

A recent interview to Saul Williams:

"So is it harder on the continent, or in non-English-speaking territories?

I have struggled in front of non-English-speaking audiences only when the audience is not my own. For instance, we played Barcelona with Nine Inch Nails, and while it was a good show, initially it felt difficult. You couldn't tell for the first couple of songs, but then we were able to hone in."

[Spanish]

Que tengáis un buen dia.
