Twas a very good night indeed though maybe not quite as good as the Sunday. I get the feeling that Trent took on board recent fans comments regarding The Fragile... there was a lot more of that album in the set tonight.

The Big Comedown was a highlight for me, even though tonights show was not as relentless as the previous one it was nice to just watch and listen to the band for a while.

Sweating buckets again!!! It was very hot inside even though I didn't move as much.

Sixth and last NIN gig of the current tour for me:(

Maybe not as good as last night for me, but a solid performance nevertheless.

Has been fantastic seeing Trent & co this summer. Hopefully they'll be back again later in the year.

Highlights: Saul Williams (really enjoyed his set), and the girl behind me repeatedly shouting 'get yer cock out Trent!'.
Master Traveler
Got tickets! Was fantastic, The Big Comedown and Reptile were awesome. I agree, The Fragile stuff had some of the biggest cheers tonight.

Also Id like to add that Aaron is fucking awesome, a massive focal point tonight.

Plus this was the first time ive managed to see NIN. (I can stop moaning about The Lost Weekend now!)

Out of all theshows you went to what was the best?

Barrowlands in Glasgow for me :-)
Master Traveler
Oh BTW if the guy who was standing next to me mini-discing the gig reads this - post the show for us purrrrleeeeeeeeeeease :)
Master Traveler
Ohhhh Man, that show just kicked ass out of last nights, lots of different songs

Sunspots,
somewhat damaged,
Dead souls!!!!!,
big comedown,
TDTWWA,
Even deeper,

The music sounded better,
they were more active,

I thought it was great when every one
Out did Trent with the "don't you" "dont you"
getting faster and faster and faster for at least 1 mins
until Trent cracked with laughter

Aron kicking the shit out of A.c's Modd-box. :P

still no "with_Teeth" or "Piggy"
:?

I thought yesterday's show was better. However, it was wonderful to hear 'Dead Souls'. Really cant remember Sunspots being played, but 'Getting Smaller' definatley aired tonight. As much as I like hearing stuff off 'The Fragile' live, I don't think it helped with tonight's set.

The crowd deserve an A* for effort today.
Master Traveler
Lol my mistake , it wasn't sunspots, it was getting smaller.

To every one who PM me about my DV'ing of last nights show (too manny of you to reply seperatly)

No, I'm 101% sure neither Sunspots or Somewhat Damaged were played. Ah well. That place is unbelievably hot, but damn, was another good night. Got seated tickets for the first time, and I think I prefered it to the floor... I must be getting old or something. Atmosphere was great, as was the view. Now please excuse me as I go pass out from dehydration and exhaustion.

Slightly cooler, Saul Williams impressed and went down well again, brilliant. Big Come Down, Even Deeper etc were treats, TDTWWA was unexpected and fantastic, Dead Souls was also unexpected and great.

2 NiN gigs in Manchester in two days... in 10 years.. who'd have thunk it.
Bricklayer
100% DIDN'T play Somewhat Damaged because I may have passed out in my own euphoria.
Master Traveler
LOL, my heads in bits sorry

no your right they didn't play SD, I'm not shure why I thought that? think i was getting confused with big comedown

sorry again

thats why I don't post setlists

Cool ! i cant belive i was in touching distance of everyone but trent lol.
Master Traveler
Top Gig beat Sunday hands down. The crowd seemed much more into it and so did the band. Not that much banter from Trent except the usual thank you

Still ridiculously hot.
I got about two rows from Trent absolutely wicked.
Love the crowd singing "dont you" faster and faster during starfuckers so did trent by the looks of it. I was soaked with sweat at the end and freezing cold at the end of an hour-long bus journey home.
I hadn’t seen NIN at all since being obsessed with them after the fragile now ive seen them 3 times this year.
Hope they play next year

Ike
Woah. Another awesome show. Different to the Sunday show but good to here some different songs...maybe they were tired out after Sunday? Seemed to start slower but really picked up into a great gig. Highlights for me were Getting Smaller, Dead Souls, TDTWWA, the crowd singing during the breakdown in Starfuckers (I so hope that makes the DVD) and a really kick ass HLAH.

Played longer tonight too, about 1h 50.

MONDAY

ONDAY

i lost my bank card which put me in such a shitty mood. for some reason most of the day dragged, for some reason or another quite a few people were getting hacked off, the only upside being that it was mildly cooler.

was the first person to go in, SPIRAL BASTARDS WENT IN FIRST THIS TIME
still got the be right in front of trent, saving a place for azure of course.
met exquisite_red and we helped keep each other alive.
setlist was far better than yesterday, but the crowd was far more violent. before saul even came on, a girl from like 5 rows back, clearly off her tits on something, was trying to weed through 16 people t get to the front. needless to say we all tried to kill her. security, bastards as they are, didnt help us, and thus refused to answer our callsthroughout the show when people needed to be pulled out. someoe tried to topple azure to get her barrier place (she's 5ft hes like 6ft) and a git put her big flabby arms all over my face, and stole water. grr. azure and i ended up struggling to stay on the barrier.

good thing that happened. - TRENT REZNOR SAVED MY LIFE (kinda). i expect him to glance in my direction twoice or thrice during a show, but a good 2/3 of his vision tonight ws on us. worried that people were killing us, he said to his mic holder " give this to thw two short girls behind you" and thus i got to drink from the holy bottles of coldness. the mic dude was asked to keep an eye on us for the show by TR. what a fucking sweetheart.

had to leave for leeds tonight so no shenanigans.

loads of other shit happened that only special people will be told in person if i feel like it.

i think i'll join danni in a comatose state now.

We had a few people trying to push past ("No look, we are stood like sardines here, there really is NOWHERE TO GO") early on but everyone seemed fine after that. About 3 rows back from Geordie this time. I was just happy that the crowd were MUCH nicer than the Astoria. People fell and they got picked up, people needed to get out and people let them.

Enjoyed both setlists, quite different but really good. Would have liked more of With_Teeth played but hey, can't have everything in one night I guess.
Master of the Ninth Arch
Hey, don't take it personally about saying NON-SPirAL bitches! Just having some fun, as you are doing.

Me, personally, think the spiral membership is kickass thng to do for TR's fans, because I'm sick of scalpers jacking the system and purchasing hundreds of tickets so shows sell out very quickly, then the butt fucks turn around and sell them for double/triple the price via ticket websites or ebay, or at the venue. I think that issue is one of the many reasons that TR started the Spirals, or so I gather from some of his input regarding the Spiral.

Scalpers could be one of the reasons that a percentage of the tickets were held back until Saturday. Basically meant people wouldn't buy from them if they could get tickets from teh venue for INFINITELY cheaper. It also meant that tickets we had bought for people who dropped out were sold for far less than face value to the bastards.

What a effin gig , words cannot express how good that gig was. My best before last nights was Smashing Pumpkins 1992 what was then the Leeds Town and Country club on the Siamese Dream tour. I have seen great many bands live , NIN three times now. But that is theee best gig i have ever witnessed in the whole of gigging experiences. To hear the whole crowd singing along and nearly drowning out Trents voice in the process was phenomenal. I screamed when they played Dead Souls! What i liked about it was the set was not what you would expect in some places.
Master of the Ninth Arch
Dead Souls, eh? One of my favorites actually. Bastards! Big Comedown is also vey good. Double bastards!!

Hahahaha, I couldn't believe it! TR bends right down onto his hunches, leans out and pulls his Mic Tech forward, thrusts the bottle into the guys hands and looks straight at us. Tech Guy gives us the bottle, we get two drinks and the girls behind us go apeshit for the bottle. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen ITS TEH TRIZZLES BOTTLE For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen!. Well, I hope you all had fun killing one another for it, I was just happy for the drink of ice cold water, to be honest.

I wasn't too crushed at this point, it was later in the show after a crowd surfer tried to break my neck and the 6ft tall asshole behind me, started to push in. He caught my feet up in his legs and started to push me over to the right. This was so I couldn't move my feet to correct my stance.
I don't care if I ended up horizontal, you were never gonna get in, as I was never gonna ask to get pulled out, just because you were a dick.

The Mic Tech just kept occasionally feeding me water while this was going on. I think he was all too aware i was never gonna ask to get pulled out. He's ace!

By the end of the show I just had my left hip an the barrier and was kinda wrapped around silktwisteddagger. It was much more comfortable and so damn cute!
was a shock to hear dead souls.. i just remember looking round saying "i know this but what the fudge is it!?"

i now know not to stand at the back at a nin show. worst.place.ever. alas the girl i was with didn't want to go to the front and i didn't want to lose her. you just don't get the whole atmosphere at the back. you also get the people who only came for the hand that feeds so i was just there screaming the lyrics and dancing on my own.

i have a few 30 sec long videos with no sound ¬_¬ so i'll put them up later incase anyone fancies them.

saul williams got a really good reception too.
Blinding show! This was my first NIN experience and it was well worth it.

I was in the chaos of the centre of the mosh pit a few metres or so from the front of Trent.

I too was fucking annoyed at those two irish slags who were either incredibly pissed or high on something. It was great to see two guys from in front try to haul the fat one away. A big thanks to the awesome American guy who shoulder-barged both girls about five foot sideways.

And to the lady who asked me to move slightly so she could punch the fat slag: I hope you enjoyed that! The thud sounded wonderful.
Master Traveler
The gig was awesome, way better than birmingham on friday.

Saul Williams deserves to be huge.
Bricklayer
Best concert i've ever been to, worth all the trouble that i went through to get there, even the lack of oxygen to the brain and nearly passing out after the gig in the train station.
March of the Pigs was fucking brilliant, trent didn't do the arm thing during it though, Dead Souls was a bit of a surprise too, i think this is the only gig i've been to where i've lost several stone of my weight in sweat, nearly cried and nearly passed out.
I got a couple of little video clips not too big file size or excellent quality.
Saul was fucking brilliant as well, i think i was the only guy singing along with him, List of Demands was amazing, trent wasn't kidding about how great he is.
Bottom line is, it was fucking brilliant, trent sort of seemed to saddle the mic stand in closer too, and seemed to be waving his ass at everyone on the left side of the room..not that i'm really complaining, Jerome looked rather Dashing too.
All i gots to say..

Probably May 1994 in Manchester. They played 'The Becoming' ;) and even though I preferred the last line-up and thought the Brixton 99 gig was awesome, Sundays Manchester show was the better for energy.

But the 94 line-up was the best of all because of the show and the setlist... I prefer them looking fetished up but I guess stockings just don't fit the new beefed up Trent ;)

Has been fantastic seeing Trent & co this summer. Hopefully they'll be back again later in the year.

Rumour has it (actually check the official site and the posts from Trent) that they will be back, most probably next year with a different set... he hints we may get some more of the new album.

Hi i got a 74 Min Amazing sound that i recorded using a high quality Microphone.

It would be great if you can send me your dvd and i will Overdub the 74 minutes on your film with my A+ Quality Audio.

I live in leeds.
If you are interested Contact me at gnrosasboot@hotmail.com

Hi, GNROSAS.

It would be easyer and quicker to send me the audio as I will have to edit it in Adobe premiere pro so the audio lines up as parts of my video are missing

plus i can add it to the raw dv, so theres no re-compression.

you can send it me through MSN messenger if you want

the show was great! it my first time seeing nin too. the set list wasn't what i was expecting as there were a few surprises. it was great nice to hear dead souls (i have only just got into that song resently)

the only down side was that i went on my own as i as no one else i know like nin then i was assaulted half way through the show for no appartent reason. i wasn't in any ones way, i didn't spill anyones drink, i didn't stand on anyone or anything. i guess some people just like pick on a girl who is on her own.

never mind though, at least i finally got to see trent and co. in the flesh.
Bought the tickets on the day of sale and was gearing up for this gig and they delivered the goods in spades. First nin gig i have been to and i am looking forward to a follow up tour. The highlight for me was starfuckers as i have followed the tour on this page over the months and this song has not been very consistant. Great sound, great stage lighting (better than i had heard it was) and i felt it was a very intense performance, just hope that next time round they add newcastle to the tour.

First in line this day (got there after 9), kept spaces for azure and silky and then had to pick up my friend at around one. I'm with silky on this - things tended to fuck up on this date. I almost got squashed to pieces by these HUGE fuckers who squeezed in beside me at the barrier during TDTWWA, lost my painkillers and found them trampled at the end of the show, security were cunts and the temperature was again ungodly.

Highlights: Saul Williams acknowledging my "noooo" about Sunday night's crowd, The Big Comedown and TDTWWA, that stupid bitch from Sunday being kicked out of the venue.

WOW!!
Ive waited years for it and it certainly fulfilled all expectations....we had an amazing night...was definitely a bit moist by the end of it all hehe There was some seriuos sweating going on in there around me lol
Melty hot in there!!
Trent certainly did it for me......i kept thinking awww this will be the last...then the next track came....Cant fault the setlist ...
I was near the "get your cock out posse lol"
Saw one girl "glass" some big bloke who pushed her...cept she did it with a plastic cup....most amusing...
This was my 6th NIN show and 2nd of 2005. The previous night in Manchester I thought the performance to be good, but this show simply blew me away. The heat in the venue was one of the hottest gigs I ever attended. But what a set list, superb, superb, superb.

I did make an effort to record the show the night before, but the moisture damaged my Recorder, so only manage to record the first hour or so.

This show I dug out my older, more robust recorder and bagged one of my all time best reordings. I'm happy to trade these shows with other NIN heads on here. I'm not into making money out of them, purely from one fan to another, and I would be m,ore than happy to trade for other shows from 2005 on either CD or DVD.

You can contact me here cplant@aspirehousing.co.uk

All you people yet to see them on this tour > you are in for a treat for sure !!

Enjoyed Saul Williams, same set as previously, same cool bass on Act III Scene 2 (Shakespeare). (Vague setlist order: Act III Scene 2 (Shakespeare), Grippo, List of Demands, African Student Movement, Black Stacey, Telegram).

NIN were incredible as to be expected. Don't recall BYIT being played as the intro in the slightest though??! As if the heat outside hadn't been enough, the heat in the pit was overwhelming and I have never sweated so much in my life. Predictably, the crowd went mental during MOTP and Wish, but it was Getting Smaller when I got the most crushed. Still, it was well worth it, and although I was able to appreciate the music more on the first night when I was seated, the atmosphere down in the pit added to the whole experience. After the months of anticipation, the gigs seemed to go so by quickly, but were most definitely worth the wait.

exquisite_red wrote:Don't recall BYIT being played as the intro in the slightest though??!
It was barely audible, I think there might have been sound problems but it was definitely BYIT.
Saul Williams played Coded Language (a song he and DJ Krust composed together interestingly, appearing on Saul's Amethyst Rockstar album and DJ Krust's Coded Language album) first, and then Grippo :) I really enjoyed Saul Williams, shows where you loom forward to the support act also are just awesome.

Can't believe how great the show was, and I agree, it was hotter than hell at the front. After The Hand That Feeds I had to go and get more water, I gave the last of mine to a guy behind me. You can't just hoarde your water to yourself. It was warm though, I bet he got a shock when drinking it :P

An amazing show, cannot wait to see NIN again. The band were great and I still can't believe I've been within 6ft or Trent Reznor.

Me and a few mates decided to go to the Monday event. We live in middlesbrough, so we knew the trip there would be a bit of a task. At the begining, everything didn't go so well as the people who had my (and another lad's) ticket had got on the train before us, which then the train thinks is a good idea to leave early. Ended up shelling out another thirty quid to get the train to Manchester.

Ended up queing at about 5:00 pm and ended up getting a rather nice place in the que. Anyone notice that random man walking around with a bottle of JDaniels?

The Concert really was immense, though i think you lot have described it as though i would of. I was at the front though, getting squashed. Music was great. Very hot, smelly and sweaty. Loved it. Wonder why they stopped shelling out the water at the end..

Here's some piccies, as i know you really want to have a look at them. They're really terrible quality, as they're taken off my phone.

Hey! As far as I can tell, the girl in the strappy top behind your left ear is me (I think)! And the guy in the black top standing up behind me is my boyfriend.

Were the two guys from Redcar (one with very tall platforms) who we were talking to at the stage door when the band arrived part of your Middlesborough gang by any chance, or was that part of the country just out in force?
Bricklayer
one question...WHERE WAS "ONLY"?
Bricklayer
The only people i knew that were going where my group of four. Didn't notice anyone from Redcar o.o

I think i remember who you are now. I definitely know who your boyfriend was, as he stood out a little :P I might've accidently elbowed one of your mates in the face in the concert too :S Damn im so abusive..

Hmm, the plot thickens... There's nothing that *should* especially stand out about my boyfriend! What did you have in mind?! And it was just the two of us on the 2nd night, so I've got no idea who you elbowed!

Am 98% certain that it's my boyfriend standing up, but I was wearing a vest top and 'me' in the photo looks like she *could* be wearing a cut-off shoulder thing. Hard to tell. Plus when we were queueing he was generally standing up while I was sitting down to his right, just in front of the bin on the corner (in which case I would've been a bit further forward in the queue and obscured in the photo), although he did move around a bit. It's hard to get a sense of distance in the photo though. Either way, if it turns out not to be me, THAT GIRL STILL HAS MY HEAD! How curious...
AAAAAHHH, We were also waiting round the side and saw the guy with the very big platforms.......Don't recall your face (that is in the photo). We were also waiting at the side for the meet and greet, I will have more photos available soon which all your ugly coupons may just be in if you were in the mosh pit!

U know what sucked after this show, while a group of us were waiting outside to see the band and bunch of stupid scallys were in a car on the road shouting loads of abuse, u cud see the security guards staring at them, and what sucked even more is that about 20 misn later sum Police came, apparently some of the fans had been chased by these scallys (who apparently had guns....wel thats what i heard when he police came)

But other than those peices of shit scallies.....Everything was great !

Did anyone see that guy who was absolutely wrecked, staggering around dancing on his own, knocking everyone around by accident? Or the guy who was throwing himself at everyone and got kicked out for crowd surfing twice? Was close to the beggining, he was being escorted out during Closer/The Only Time.

Thank you to the guy with the blonde mohawk for passing water back too!

re: those pictures - that's pretty fuckin close!

With us (Brisbane Show) he was on a proper stage so there wasn't that much 'closeness' like you guys had.
