Where exactly on the site? Because i saw a piece with live stream, but it said it didn't have a concert at the moment, and to check back later...

Apparently the performances in the Main Stage (where NIN are playing) are only available for those with Belgique ADSL connection, so I don't think we'll be able to see it.

This is bullshit, I have been trying to figure out how to see the main stage for hours, but apparently we are going to miss Trent.

Oops, that last post was me, but I was so fuming mad I forgot to sign in and I forgot my username. Oh well.

I'm an audio engineer working here at one of the national radio station, and the station called "Pure FM", while streaming the festival live, just said they weren't allowed by the production (i.e. Trent Reznor or his organisation, I suppose) to stream the nin concert. So I'm not sure the Werchter site or any other radio/television station can air the concert...

We heard the beginning however : The Frail and a few seconds of The Wretched.

Just enough to get me drooling here in the studio, just enough to get me frustrated also...

Glad I went to see them in Paris...

Ok, so my not-boyfriend has called me from the concert just as it ended... it seems the setlist was similar to the one in Barcelona (not in order but in songs), playing The Frail/The Wretched, Burn, and finishing with Head like a Hole.

But he has told me that during "Something I can Never Have" Trent has started to cry... when I asked for more specifics he told me that it was nothing subtle, that he was kinda sobbing and everything.

Poor baby. In Barcelona we were singing along and he was even smiling, I don't know why he was so affected today...

It seems most people were (again) waiting for Rammstein and there weren't many NIN fans around -my friend told me he was the only one singing along in his area.

And that's all I can say.

Poor Trent (although I'm still angry at him for the way he ended the show in Barcelona and for not allowing this concert to be streamed live).

I was in Paris the 22 and left the concert hall disapointed (too hot, crappy sound, etc). This show was awsome !!! NIN at his best !!!!

Aaron is just a crazy man. He throwed his amp out of the stage an I think Jeordi also trhow his guitar on Jerome's drum..

I was in Paris and Nijmegen before this one and I can tell you the band's growing stronger and stronger. Not that much NIN-fans around tonight but a very powerful act on stage! The absence of the pinion intro and starting with the frail instead ... pffffiiiwwww

I was the only one singing with trent (in front of the right side of the stage)

during sicnh trent was crying a little (in the beginning)

The show was amazing. And it caught my attention that NIN were the only band who didn't use the camera on the huge moving rig for the screens. Unlike the other bands, the images from the screens seemed way better shot, so it think it must've been the NINcrew itself taking over the camera's.

I don't think Trent cried, i think it was sweat in his eyes or breathing smoke? It was a bit weird though, before he began to sing the first line on "something...", he softly bumped the microphne to his head a couple of times.

I never understand what people have about the sound at the zenith !? I saw one concert from the seated area once, and the sound was ok, nothing more nor less - but i saw several others since (including the 22/06) and i found the sound extremely rich and clear. Admittedly, i was pretty close to the stage everytime, but still..

It was the first NIN show for me. I was just in the front of the scene and I've got just two words: THANK YOU!

The setlist is correct, 14 tracks in total.
The sound was excellent, the performance was unbelievable, but the crowd was SO lame!
It was just a big bunch of rammstein fans.
I think 98% of the people didnt even knew who Nine Inch Nails were.
In my area I was the only one singing along to the songs (all of them, in full force, my voice is gone for a few days ).
The concert was so great...
Trent really did start to sob a little during SICNH.
And I actually cried during Hurt...
It was my first NIN concert, and seeing Trent on stage, performing Hurt, just made something snap inside.
This really was one of the best moment of my life.

About the streaming, I have ripped the entire stream, 1 hour before the show, until 1 hour after, and there's nothing from NIN in there, only useless interviews.
So they really didnt stream anything.
Too bad, because the camerawork was really excellent.
I also saw:
* Therapy? (some songs were pretty good)
* Admiral Freebee (fuckin fantastic, best thing that came out of Belgium, ever)
* Audioslave (they ROCKED. they played some soundgarden songs and rage songs too, the crowd went wild. CHRIS CORNELL IS TEH ROCK GOD)
* Rammstein (these german beer kings do know how to put up a good show. I didnt enjoy the music that much, but the show was fantastic. fire, explosions, epic drama )

I was standing pretty close and I could see Trent getting *really* emotional during SICNH, I think he just has a better grip on 'stage theatrics' now and gets into that state of mind on purpose to make the live show epic... Or was this so unusual? He was sorta crying and at one point covered his face with his harms for a litle while... For a minute I thought "shit... is he totally fucked up again?" but after that song he was back in a bad ass rocking mood so it seems so I'm guessing it was part of the show.

Anyway, the show really blew my mind, never saw a band put on a show so skilfully and intensely, even when compared to AATCHB.


edit: Oh yeah and Audioslave was crazy too, didn't know they could put on such a classy show even though I'm a big fan of them. The crowd went so crazy, the mosh pit felt like it was the end of the world... So what do they start to do then? They start to play fucking RATM songs! Holy shit, people went insane, it was like... the apocalypse...

The rest were Rammstein fans indeed who didn't knew NIN possibly!

I was there too and I can say I was extremely sad for him.
The crowd was absolutely misunderstanding everything.
During that moment I was really ashamed being belgian and, worse, having bought werchter ticket!

But the show was terribly AWESOME and camerawork unbelievable.

Ive never really seen a crowd so un-enthusiatic. Anyone know what song the pic was taken during? Crowd looks dead.

Sorry for the "me too" post, but I basically agree with everyone in this thread. The show was great, the crowd was lame. I was singing along and jumping around, but almost all the people around me were just standing still, seemingly uninterested.

Then again, I've always had the impression that NIN aren't very big or popular in Belgium anyway (which is a damn shame).

Seems to it has been the same shitty situation as seen at the german festivals: The kiddos were waiting for Rrrrammstein ... hopefully NIN will get the headlining postition when they'll play european festivals next time.

About the crowd: too many kids being there just "to be there".

From where I was, it was a NIN "clan" (+/- 10 persons).
I was 10 meters from the desk (mix) just behind the second security ramp.

oh okay thanks. Haha. I'm not surprised b/c buddyhead does rip on everyone but they rip on eachother too, they constantly would poke fun at one another and make fun of their friends bands too. People take that shit way too seriously when buddyhead is just fuckin' around and only being honest but half the time I think they are only being half serious. It's a funny site with clever little one liners and I think it's supposed to be tongue in cheek. The gossip part of it anyway. It's so funny that 2 lil' dudes can piss so many people off. I'm mean people really wanted to have these guys for dinner. Haha. I really don't think Aaron cares too much otherwise he wouldve stopped his shit talking when he's gotten sued and threatened before...I think I've heard of him even being hit before. That dude from pennywise really should brush it off they aren't the only band they rip on...like I said they even rip on themselves.

Well funny to see that everyone is complaining about the crowd... IT IS A FESTIVAL! I saw the show in Vienna which was good because people were all fans. But I was amazed how the Werchter performance of the band was better. Trent and especially Jordie were much more moving on the stage...(because they had to convince)
Of course its a festival and you can't expect people to be too enthusiastic but it was more than ok were I was a lot of people were singing : more than I would have expected.

The thing is that such a performance impressed a lot of people including people that didn't know much about it...exactly what a festival is all about!!And i'm glad about it!

ps: about the "crying thing" : most people didn't understand what was happening when Trent was putting his arms around himself like he was cold and start to "cry" (the word is too strong) For most people it was a bit funny because it seemed a bit too much of pretending to be such in a mood. When he even started to shortly cough some people even laughed..

For me his attitude was similar to the Vienna show but he was just putting himself even more into the song. But like I said it surely hasn't been well perceived by some(most?) people that tought it was fake..

That seems to be because Belgium sucks (aside from the NIN fans). They were all waiting to "rock out" to Rammstein.

The set was truly amazing. It was a pitty that so little people in Belgium know NIN, but from what I have heard so far (radio, online, people I know) the responses where unanimous. I'm sure that NIN will have a lot of new fans here from now on. I hope the tour passes through europe again soon.

Despite what some people suggest here, NIN has a big following in Belgium. Recall they sold out Vooruit show on Spiral Tour and were put high on the bill both times they appeared at the country's largest festival in Werchter.
True, 60% of the huge crowd on Saturday in Werchter came for headliners Rammstein, I've been told.
I didn't attend this show either (just like previously in Werchter, because (and yeah maybe that just makes me a lousy fan) I don't feel like spending a fortune on seeing Trent & Co. only for an hour between 10 000 boyscouts.
Or in the Netherlands they played with Lenny Kravitz and REM. No NIN fan deserves to be put through so much misery.
Having said that, the people I know who went to Werchter thought it was a brilliant gig with a nice moshpit in the front gathering many diehards fans.
The rest of the audience may have seemed a tiny apathetic, but that was more because they were impressed with the intensity of the show. Press praised it unanimously.
I saw NIN in Tilburg (2001??) and had brilliant time. Just wished they would skip the festivals in the future and play some more indoor venues.

I seem to have been lucky enough to have attended the Werchter show among the only NIN-fans, because my throat hurt from singing along, and my ears were ringing from those around me who were doing the same thing. Most of them were more familiar with the old stuff (so they started cheering too early during the quiet bit in With Teeth), but there certainly was no lack of enthusiasm. Quite a few well worn 'Downward Spiral' t-shirts and such.

IMHO those were drops of sweat during SICNH, but it sure sounded passionate enough, even if he didn't cry. And I couldn't help thinking Trent was reclaiming 'Hurt'. I sure would have loved getting more from 'With Teeth', but otherwise an awesome concert.

Finally i can see NIN live. It was "my" show. But they played after Rammstein, the band everyone were waiting for. I try to get in front of the stage but there was to much people saving is place for Rammstein.
The show was so good!!!!! to short too... only one hour for such a great band???

i hope next time they come to Portugal to see them in a closed place like Coliseu, with their own fans and with more than 60 minutes to play...

I went to the main stage early enough to be in front of the stage to watch NIN but it didn't help a bit. Everyone was there waiting for Rammstein.
No offence, Rammstein put on a great show, I was impressed, mostly because I love fire. But I wanted to see NIN better.
The worst part is that those people who pushed so bad to get in front didn't really care, or it seems.

I was in the front on the left, right under the screen, probably one of the few singing along and calling my friend who couldn't go to the show because it was sold out. Long brown hair, black t-shirt, jeans (If anyone saw me, HI!)

I looked around and I didn't see anyone singing with the band...I thought: "mmmhh, at least clap your hands, yell or pretend to know the songs!".
BUT, after reading all of these posts, I found out that lot of people felt that way.
And frankly, I'm a little happy to know that, because I thought that maybe it was the 'belgian way' or something.

So, to all the NIN fans who sang along...thank you!
And to NIN, who won't read this, thanks for the show. It was great!! Exactly what I was expecting from you.

it was really a great show, wasn't it and i was singing along with Trent too,it doesn't matter that the crowd was so-o-o detached.... they just couldn't wait for Rammstein.
I was hoping that someone will take pictures, because mine are so auwfull i took over 600 pictures, actually, during the whole festival and only few are good .... when i get some free net space i will post them, promise
@ M.R. hey i was on the left side also!(hm.. well it depends what is right and left but i was on the left side of Trent) right under the screen girl, red t-shirt of RW, short dark hair... i was on the shoulders of my friend, but the security was very strict and they let me stay higher only for one song - something i can never nave... anyway...

The crowd did suck - it was my tenth Werchter and they were never this tame before (except during heatwaves).
It was my first ever encounter with NIN, 'Hurt' and 'The Perfect Drug' aside, but I'm completely convinced now. I'm really glad we decided to stay for NIN.

Well my friend and me sang/screamed/jumped/waved along a lot!! I even managed to jump around during The Line Begins To Blur while pinned against the fence. It didn't go unnoticed, I was quite a pain in the ass that day methinks whahaha! We scared quite a few belgian people around us actually. I guess they didn't expect 2 harmless looking chicks to cause that much ruckus!!
Even Jeordie noticed. Did anyone notice him wave his hand(s) in the air a couple of times while standing on the far left edge of the stage?? He did that whenever he was standing near us and we got tired from waving our hands. True story.. really..
He shouldn't empty his nose onstage!! Gross!!!!!
Did anyone see that?! He did it after he held his guitar above his head for a while, then he held it in front of his face and blew. Yuk.. oh well.

I could hardly see Trent from where I was standing but it was obvious that he was sobbing during sicnh.

Oh and I was also standing on the left side.
Jeordie's mic was close to some huge amps, left of that was a little bit of stage (where Rammstein had already set up some of their pyrotechniques) where hed stand on the edge. I was standing in front of that sidebit of the stage. Black girl, causing ruckus along with blonde girl.

I was there too, I managed to get past all the rammstein fans to get up front while jumping and folowing some other NIN fans I just talked too then.
I was at first row central with lots of NIN fans. I think everyone was singing along but lots of them weren't belgians.
The atmosphere was a bit lame with the damn rammstein fans.
I really hope NIN will tour Europe again in winter in some clubs or arenas

The videos that Opiumkid posted were videos he made himself, with his phone or something like that. The screencaps Bodhisattva posted were from the broadcast on French tv. It's about 5 minutes long and it has bits of March of the Pigs, The Frail, The Wretched and Wish. But it's a huge file, so I can't post it, but there is a torrent at Dimeadozen (see a link earlier in this thread).

ok ok i know im a bit late with this

anyway, i was there at Werchter too and i just have to say it was f*cking AMAZING! It was the 1st time in 8 years i went back to the festival but i dont regret going. I too went mainly for Rammstein because i love their show but NIN wasnt a complete stranger to me though. I must say they completely blew me away. They just totally ROCK :O
Audioslave as well For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen!! I found a spot at the left side of the stage under the big screen so i could see a lot of the show without standing in the jumping crowd (had to be careful as there was a possibility of me being pregnant and thank god i did cuz i found out 2 days later that i am actually pregnant ) Anyway, i enjoyed it very much and havent stopped listening to NIN since. I can also honestly say that the baby has a great taste of music already as it starts to move every time i listen to NIN, but then again it might not be so surprising as it's the only music i frequently listen to now hehe.
