THEY PLAYED THE WRETCHED!!!

I was in the very front of the floor, dead fucking center.
Until I was so squished I couldn't breathe and the security gaurds pulled me out. Man, that was a great show. It went by too fast.

I can't put together the whole setlist right now, but two songs that got me super excited were The Wretched and Eraser. Great fucking show.

P.S. - I was being a prude tonight or something, but the QOTSA singer pissed me off with what he said. I think he's a pig. And I was close enough, so I yelled at him "I didn't come here to get laid, I came here to see NIN so hurry the fuck up."

Oh and... Autolux's drummer is kickass.

The how was nuts.
First and foremost, I had a pretty decent converation with Rob Sheridan before having him sign a spiral ticket.
Then i had him sign an oreo box for kicks.
I caught a guitar pick
I caught a water bottle, but let it drop and watched some girl pick it up way gleefully.
All the while being totally destroyed by trent and his band of merry men.

The intro
was this unheard of track, not like pinion, thenew flesh or byit. They didn't play not so pretty now, which dissapointed me. And we didn't really get anything to replace it, sadly.

great show. i think the setlist was the same as phoenix minus "not so pretty now." the songs during the video were killer. only and deep were on, too. pinion was the intro. then they played love is not enough behind the curtain like the last 2 shows.

trent said something about us being few in number, but a really good crowd. i got to sing the "don't you" line from starfuckers, inc. into the mic a few times. trent jumped down and handed the mic to the guy next to me at the barricade. good action.

The Only Time breakdown was such a tease. If they would have played that in full, I would have nutted myself.
And I agree Eraser was really great.
Setlist seems pretty accurate.

BEST show of my life. i was center front second row, right in front of TR. the pit was insane but worth being in. yah, the list seems right, i was hoping to hear Not So Pretty also........actually, now that i've reflected on yesterday, i missed hearing Awith Ateetha. anywho, Autolux was amazing, i wasn't expecting to be wowed by a 25-30min opener but i can honestly say i was by far more impressed with them than with QOTSA, who sound kinda repetive at times. Autolux deserves an 1hr of playing. oh, that drummer girl kicks ass too btw. QOTSA,......meh, not bad, i like them and enjoyed their performance although not as much as i did Autolux's or NIN's. i see now what ppl were refering to when claiming that Homme seems to be channeling Elvis sometime during QOTSA, i noticed Autolux's guitarist was sitting in the front

highlights; Eraser, RWIB and BYIT-the word godly came to mind as they played, im not so sure if i even shed a few tears during RWIB v.2, the song's even more touching live with the visuals and all. at first i wasnt so sure it was TR who had jumped down and let the 2 guys in front of me sing into the mic, but it was!!!\m/
my arms are so fuking sore, im kinda thankful i'll be seating at the Hollywood Bowl seeing NIN again. cant wait!!!!

well, i for one thought that QOTSA was fucking fantastic, those boy's are all damn fine musicians. Of course, NIN blew them away, but i loved their set. Better than their studio albums even.

Anyway, i'll just tell you the entertaining stories of the night; I got up to go pee in the men's room and it's crowded at the stalls and shit, normal concert stuff, and these two girls just burst in the mens room doors. They just didn't give a fuck, they were laughing and shit, and i was laughing and shit, and all the other guys in the bathroom were laughing and shit... heh. So, i got back to my seat and lo and behold, the very same two girls are sitting 3 or 4 seats to my left. So i said, "Can i shake your hands? That was fucking awesome, you two got a lot of moxy. Oh, and don't worry i washed my hands." heh.

We also had these three obnoxious fucking tatted up biker gang looking guys sitting (uh, no wait, standing, stumbling, bumbling) in front of us. They were so fuckin' tore up i thought they were gonna fall over the railing (ok, i was wishing they would). The worst part about that was they kept doing it in the middle of the performances, over and over. The best part of it was that they snuck down to the pit for the NIN set. Thank god (or satan or buddah or whoever) for small graces.

NIN was just insanely good though. They fucking wore me the fuck out! They were better last night even than the show in San Diego i saw at the SOMMA. I don't think they have EVER sounded more intense or better. IMO it's the best band trent's ever had, and trent's singing is the best it's ever been. It's a shame there were so many empty seats but as trent said, "You may be few in numbers but you're a great crowd." Josh said something about 'the small but great crowd too' and something about the big crowd in Pheonix that was dead. Deep was a pleasant surprise. Down In It was... eh. whatever. Sure did want to hear the new song... it'll surface soon enough though.

I bought the limited edition litho which got FUCKED UP! I drove a couple hours to my friends' house in Bakersfield and put it under a heavy rug of his. He says i should try to iron it to get all the crinkles out... heh. i suppose they're battle scars in a way.

The concert was very crazy in my opinoin because i went with my mother. We were right in front of Trent and the band but my mother soon got out because she was being pushed real badly.
It only started getting packed when nin was going to preform, (well isn't it obious that the crowd wanted to see them only.) The part that made sad was that Trent didn't really talk to the crowd as much as Josh did from QOTSA. And what Josh said about being there to get layed was really stupid because we went there to see NIN preform.
Overall this will not be a preformance to forget because when they were singing Closer Trent was acting like he was f-ing the mike when he sang 'i wanna fuck you like an animal'! Yea! Awesome.

how packed was the arena? i believe there were still GA tickets on sale at the time of the show, so im curious about how many people actually showed up.

I'm nowhere near as big of a NIN fan as most of you on this board, but I've got a respectable audio and video collection and a standard Spiral membership. I was at the show last night and just wanted to share my thoughts...

My attitude going in was pretty apathetic due to a long day at work and a serious lack of energy last night. I got there just after QOTSA started their set. They were okay, but I have no desire to see them again. To my ears, there wasn't enough variety in their music, and I thought the sound was a little too guitar-heavy.

I was at the NIN show at the Saroyan Theatre earlier this year. I was VERY excited for that one, as it was the first time I got to see NIN live after 10 years of being a casual fan. But my seats were up in the balcony and the people in my section remained seated throughout the show, which was incredibly frustrating for me. LabHal, Inc --you said you went to last night's show with your mom-- I went to the show in March with my 58-year old dad. He's had a mild fascination with NIN ever since Woodstock '94. He really enjoyed the show, but it's kind of an odd experience to go to a concert and sing lyrics like "I want to fuck you like an animal" while seated next to your parent.

Last night I was on the floor and it made all the difference in the world. That's the best way to experience NIN, imho. All of my apathy vanished when they took the stage, and I had total freedom to jump around like I wanted and needed to.

I wanted to say that at both shows I have come away being EXTREMELY impressed by the quality of the production. The sound was pristine from where I stood, especially in comparison to QOTSA. It was loud but not annoying, and I felt like each instrument was distinct. The light and video show are incredible. The way it syncs up with the music at certain times is pretty powerful. It's obvious that NIN and their crew pay attention to detail.

I had so much fun last night that now I am seriously considering using the ticket I have to the Hollywood Bowl instead of selling it, which was my plan just 24 hours ago. It'll mean my third trip down to Los Angeles (a drive I HATE doing from Fresno) in a span of four weeks' time, but I think it will be worth it.

I also wanted to say thanks to NIN, even though I doubt they'll ever see this, for coming to Fresno twice in one year and playing at venues downtown instead of the slick, mainstream SaveMart center.

Show Was awesome> Almost if not as good as the Fragile Tour or show at the Cow Palace. QOTSA really impressed me. They are a really great live. Awesome musicians. The Drummer just went off!!!!!! And the special twist they put on some of there songs was just incredible.

NIN.. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.. this is my fourth time seeing them live. Highlights where as followed..

Most energy I have seen the band have ever!.. Trent was just angry... it seemed or had a lot of control up there on stage.

Song highlights. Deeper, Down in it, Sin, Burn, The wretched/Frail, Wish, Right where it belongs, and Eraser.. Much more but those were HI Highlights for me.

The show was visually amazing. I can't believe the time and money and organization put on to get the visuals there. The drop screen for 3 songs. Including Eraser with images. Just fucking priceless. How half the people in the audience flipped off George bush's picture haha. Soooooo good!

It wasn't that packed. In fact Trent Reznor made a comment "you're numbers are small, but you kick ass Fresno" or something like that.

Was it me or did "Right Where It Belongs" sound odd? It sounded different and I want to say some of the lyrics were different.

I was initially afraid of how badly they might do "Only" but I have to tell you, it sounded much better LIVE than I could have imagined.

Some highlights...

Trent threw the micrphone into the crow which the first time he fucked up because he was standing on it so it went nowhere. He laughed at himself and did it again.

Trent came down in the security area and gave the microphone again to the fans during Starfuckers and let the crowd chant over and over and over "Don't You". Trent really gets his kicks during this song for some reason. When he jumped on stage to finish the song, he usually sings "I'm one of the Beautiful Ones" but he used the original lyrics and sang "I'm one of the Chosen Ones". He then sang "I just fucked up the lyrics" and did it again with "I'm one of the Beautiful Ones" with lots more energy this time.

I didn't take many photos, because my camera got destroyed at the Warfield, but I saw lots of fans with cameras so there should be lots of photos popping up.

Since I didn't see anyone mention the merchandise, I think they had 3 shirts in black, blue and white. All about 30 bucks each. They still offered hoodies and other crap like stickers, buttons, etc.

Show was fucking amazing. I was pleased to actually see an entire set this time. Just like the beginning of San Diego, Muscles and crew were on fire. Love Is Not Enough as an opener is starting to really grow on me. Eraser blew my mind away, I was so stoked to see it live. I'm not really into the live version of Deep that much, but it wasn't bad. The visuals projected from Eraser to Beside You In Time were rad, but I'd like to see it from a different perspective. What else is there to say except for that it was incredible?

Oh, that the crowd in Fresno fucking SUCKED. I've never seen so many assholes at one gathering in my life. I was on the barricade a bit to the left of Trent next to VnD and Jennabunnie, so I didn't get all the assholes shoving their way from the back all the way to the front just so they can scream, "Trent I named my cat after you, so take your clothes off!" I still had a bunch of drunk douchebags and dipshits acting like assholes around me the entire night. I don't really think I'll ever go back to Fresno for a show again for this reason alone.

QOTSA were a lot better in Fresno than they were in San Diego, and autolux was enjoyable as well.

Overall: the show rocked and fresno bites.

I have to say that after seeing NIN live for three times, this show is the worst. Wait. maybe that's cause i went to the warfield and davis shows.....but

But on another note...i was happy to hear deep,

I waited by the bus afterwards in hopes of getting my stub signed, but Trent was too busy drinking V8 and chillin with cum dumpsters like 'sharpie' to come and hang out with real fans.....ooh soo suprised yet again!
Oh well, I went there for the great music, and I got what I paid for...a great show indeed.

So, I was right in making the assumption that this show was going to be a bit rougher than the others we've done in the past. Y'see, being from Fresno I know that this place doesn't get a lot of good shows, therefore, when one DOES come around all the cockslaps crawl out of the woodwork to go be sweaty and rub up against each other. It ridiculous. Wow. In our usual spot on the barricade between Jeordie and Trent we were treated to a barrage of inbred white trash douchebag assholes consistantly crowd surfing, attempting to squeeze in on the barricade, singing incorrect lyrics, and yelling a variety of fantastic original phrases (For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen I AM SO DRUNK, JOHNNY CASH SUCKS, etc) Yeah, as you can imagine IT. WAS. GREAT. We fucked up quite a few crowdsurfers though haha. I know Rob was shooting towards our area all night and I swear to christ if he ever uses any footage of us I hope its when we are beating peoples asses as they come out over us. I gave one punch in the groin (just for you Jordan), gum in one guys hair (he came over a second time and it was STILL in it haha),spit in a chicks face, etc etc. Jennabunnie fucking YANKED a huge wad of hair off one guy and fucking bit another guy in the stomach. I was very pleased to see Selland staff basically let us do whatever we wanted to people without saying a word. Usually we get the "girls, you have to stop" speech but they pretty much just let us go here in Fresno. So yeah, crowdsurfers beware.

The show itself was fucking fantastic. I really enjoy Autolux but for some reason Queens set drags so much for me. Could just be that Im anxious but it seems to take forever. Josh Homme really fit right in with all the big sweaty asshole fucks in this town though. Fucking Yee-Haw.

So as much as I enjoyed the club tour, everything we have seen this leg so far has REALLY impressed me. Eraser fucking KICKED. MY. ASS. Holy shit. I think I was literally crying by the end of it. Although, we were so close it was reaaally hard to see what was on the screens during and after but we'll get a full view at the Bowl. Wasn't so sure about Deep cause it seemed so slow but we had fun rocking out just because of the pure hilarity of him playing it. Crowd got really rough at that point too surprisingly. Closer got the loudest applause of the evening by far (surprise, surprise). Was so so so fucking ecstatic to see Trent HAND the mic(much like he did to Jennabunnie and I last leg) to a good friend of ours to let him sing during Starfuckers. The smile his singing brought to Trents face was fucking adorable. <3

So all in all - good show aside from the fact that I was trapped in a raging cesspool of douchebags all night. Probably gonna do Oakland now if I can get the time off work.

hell yeah! me too. i don't understand why so many nin fans are so hostile towards QOTSA? If you doubt the diversity of their music buy the 'R' album.

If you doubt QOTSA just watch Troy because he's the most amazing no-no, yes-yes dancer I've ever seen in my life. He's also a pretty good guitar player.

A little late getting into this, but awesome show in Fresno. The crowd was pathetic though, but what can you expect from fucking Fresno? I'm happy he came to Fresno though because it's only an hour away from me as opposed to driving several hours to the next nearest show. I saw them at the Cow Palace during the Fragility tour and they were awesome, and the crowd in general was much better.

However, the sound and visual quality was awesome! The songs that they played with the screen in front of them were just insane. Eraser and Right Where It Belongs particularly stand out as highlights. Closer was cool, but the song is so damned overplayed and well, overrated, that I'm seriously tired of it (and of course, it got the crowd going crazy, because that's likely the only song that most of the crowd knows.) *rolls eyes* Many of the people were lame groupie assholes, but the majority of the people were cool and were there to enjoy the show. ...if only the idiots would go away.

Also, Starfuckers, Inc. was hilariously funny and enjoyable. I loved the fact that Trent fucked up the words, it made it more intimate in a way. I couldn't stop laughing about it, and I'm still chuckling about it. It was cute. His voice sounds better than ever and despite the pathetic turn out, he put on one hell of a show. I can safely say that I've been an NIN fan for the majority of my life (I'm only 20,) and I continue to be impressed.

Good to see you haven't changed Sharpie from the days when you were hanging out in Reno topless getting naked girls drawn on your back...

Anyways, Fresno was a great show minus the stupid crowd. Lots of crowd surfers to deal with and obnoxious drunk/stupid people trying to get up. But as already stated we gave them what they deserved. Beside you in Time was definitely my highlight of the evening since I didn't get to see it in San Diego. Such an amazing song, I totally cried a little. Down in it didn't really do it for me but I had a great time rocking out during Deep. I was upset they didn't play the new song, and I am hoping it comes back into the setlist at some future shows. Can't say much else that wasn't already said except VnD, ninfarley and I had some pretty amazing dance parties the whole night.

QOTSA was wayyyyy more enjoyable on Tuesday than in San Diego, but their setlist totally drags regardless. Autolux was great again though.

I echo what everyone else has posted..but I enjoyed myself more so because I had seats, so I had a good view of everything and was extremely glad I wasn't down in the pit with all the hee-haw yippee-ay-ey drunk fat bastards. Having said that, I was able to focus on the show and Trent's (along with the rest of the guys)amazing performance and not on who was socking my little 105lb body in the back. Amazing video show as well.

finally back in San Diego and tired as hell. Pretty much everything has been touched on and the show was really good. Lets see....its my 13th nin show this year and i must say, Burn still kills the mood and needs to be taken out of the set. The show was far from sold out. I was told that they were giving away floor tickets out front of the venue just to get people to fill it up.

Anyways, time to relax and get ready for the trip to Sac. next week! It was good seeing all of my peoples again....you guys seriously make these shows so much better!

I live in Fresno, sadly. One of the crowd surfers kicked me in the head and I thought I was going to pass out, but I didn't... and I was so squished by the time Terrible Lie was over that security had to pull me out.

At one point my feet weren't even touching the ground and I was still in place... it was crazy! Oh and I was wondering if anyone saw me there... I was in the front, in the center... wearing a black shirt, red skirt, and combat boots. And when security pulled me out my skirt was up and my booty was showing to the crowd hahaha.

Exactly! That was my first NIN show, and definetely will NOT be my last. [as long as they keep touring!] Trent is just fucking amazing live. The man can rock. like a few others i saw, this too was my first. i cant wait to see them again in oakland next month... i was pleasantly surprised with Deep, i didnt expect them to bust that one out... didnt get to spend as much time in the pit as i would have liked too--i spent some time looking for my friends. im also going to behave myself with the crowd surfing next time. i never realized it was such a hated thing. sorry guys.
