Just got back from the show. No Hurt tonight, but we got Dead Souls instead. I cant remeber the whole set but as far as the alternating songs go we got love is not enough, you know what you are, with teeth, something i can never have, getting smaller, and maybe a few others I cant remeber. Great show.

Yep no Hurt...thanks Grand Rapids fuckhead, the setlist was one song short.
Some dude told me to settle the fuck down during Burn, nice.

That set looks right, I was trying to put one together so I'm glad you did it first. There was alot of energy as a whole, not just Aaron, so that was nice to see. Trent didn't have much to say, just small stuff here and there.

Pretty great. Josh Freese is the fucking man. Thank god the lighters remained grounded this time around.

The setlist above looks pretty accurate. I had a blast, but was slightly dissapointed that I didn't get to hear Mr. Self Destruct or Please. Ah well. There are always more shows.

I was on the floor and the crowd seemed pretty tame. I can't be sure of this, but there didn't appear to be much of a pit. Regardless, everyone seemed to be really into the show. Trent was his usual laconic self, thanking the crowd two or three times and saying nothing else.

All in all, a pretty fabulous night.

Don't forget about before Pinion they played The New Flesh.. Hearing the bassline get louder and louder was quite amazing.. Much better show than the Detroit one! DEAD SOULS!!! OWWWW OWWWWWWW!

I don't really remember TR saying anything at all, I could be wrong though. He must still be pissed from last night, I thought the crowd had more energy than in Detroit and he had a nice thank you speech and everything then, but not tonight.

Edit: I added The New Flesh intro to the setlist, it was going for a few minutes before Pinion kicked in.

It's all good man. Josh Freese is indeed the fucking man too!

He did call us all fucking pigs before march of the pigs. That's pretty much the extent of his talking other than a few thankyous. Awesome show. The crowd was pretty tame and there wasn't much of a pit either.

AMAZING show to say the least...

This will go into my memory forever.

The set list was 98723598723598725 times better than Detroit, and this time I was on the floor. The only downside of that was the massive pile of mooks trying to get "closer" to Reznor. I have no problem with being a fan, but christ. Lay off the cocaine and chill the fuck out, I honestly think I'm missing a rib. Regardless, really bad ass show.

As for the pre-show/soundcheck. Reznor seemed really reserved, it might have been all of this talk about the lighter incident but when you have, yet again, a line of mooky bastards screaming "thank you for the soundcheck" as if it wasn't required, he just did it for those people, probably detered him from saying anything, or even shaking hands. Oh well, maybe at another show?

Overall, the Nine Inch Nails still have it, all of these years later. Also, I enjoyed seeing Alessandro picking up on guitar and bass duties for certain songs, very cool. Oh, and moving units, check em out, good band. OH, sorry for all of the additions, but Josh Freese, balls to the wall tonight. Amazing set from all members, check em out if you can this tour.

Show was great- minus the encore (or lack there of).

I thought the sound left quite a bit to be desired. I couldn't quite tell, but it sounded like right where it belongs was played on guitar instead of piano.

I very much liked this variation!

Does anybody know- this song has never been released in a studio version played on guitar has it? I do know there was an alternate version on the japanese release of the album. I never heard any kind of description of how it was different.

I think TLBTB was probably the high point of the entire show for me (which I wouldn't have guessed).

What was played during the soundcheck?

The Show was Superb. Drove down from the Detroit area to see it and had been looking forward to the show for some time.

The band sounded remarkable, with the addition of Josh Freese the band and the material has taken on new intensity and crispness. Josh Freese's druming ability really showed in many instances where his style added new little tid bits to all the songs; really gave the songs a new life.

Trent's voice and performance were remarkable. The rest of the band played so well and the execution of the set was fabulous it made for a truly stupdedous concert experience.

Every time I see nine_inch_nails I gain something new in terms of the music and performing arts, and tonight was no different. Awesome and stunning.

I caught a water bottle from trent towards the beginning of the show, yay!

first off the show was great. the band seemed to be lacking energy just a tad but thats ok. this has to be one of the only if not the only show since the downward spiral was released not to have hurt in the setlist. now to my complaints and it has nothing to do with the band. the crowd fucking sucked. toledo is a fucking shithole. i have never seen more backwoods dumb fucks at a show in my entire life. i saw some fuck wearing a swastika white power shirt, i hope that fucker got his ass beat. seriously toledo catch up with everyone else in the gene pool. also getting out of the parking lot was nearly fucking impossible. i honestly don't think i'll ever see another show in toledo again. come come nuclear bombs!!!

The parking lot is a mess and a fine example of how NOT to build a parking lot.

Yea seriously the parking lot was ridiculous... and everyone was being a fucking asshole and wouldn't let anyone in. Eventually I had to just inch my way forward and cut me people off, a few people were nice though and helped me out.

I also just noticed I have a black eye... I dont recall getting hit or anything, but its got to be from the moshing. Eh oh well =P

NIN didnt seem all that inspired and It seemed like going through the motions. and really wanting to get out of Toledo as fast as possible.
not saying it wasnt a steller performance, but it just seem very reheresed and uninspired. I think everyone in the band was still a little on edge because of last night. which is totally understandable. I would also like to say thanks to the mosh pits. I was only in it for one song, but I saw a great deal of respect by picking eachother up and not throwing elbows and doing other dumbass violent shit that is not moshing at all.
I would also like to apologize for the girls on the rail in the center. sorry my fatass was crushing you. The Visuals on this leg have improved I think and everyone who has a chance should check them out on this tour, even if we didnt get MSD.

just got home. not much to say other than it was an excellent show. i was glad to see all the video this time around during the curtain down portion. the cleveland show i went to during the 2005 round of touring had video problems and we missed out on half of rwib and all of byit....wasn't a big deal though. this time everything went smoothly and sounded fantastic. the new flesh as an intro worked beautifully (as always), and brought back memories of fragility. i was really hoping to hear mr. self destruct as the opener since that is what they seem to have been playing lately, but love is not enough was cool too. a great setlist and some new visuals here and there made it seem like the show just wasn't a repeat of the last tour. picked up a t-shirt and a few lithos (1 for me and 3 to trade for the other lithos legs of the tour). all in all a most rockin' NIN experience as expected. thanks for stopping by!

I thought the sound was pretty bad too. I hadn't been to a show there in probably five years but I don't remember it sounding that bad before. Even the pre-show music was so washed out that I could barely make any of it out...I think I heard some Bowie? If that was anyones first time seeing NIN you should see them again to hear how they normally sound.

Still a great show. My sixth time seeing them and I got to hear five different songs for the first time.

Man - that was an awesome show! I thought Trent said more than usual to the crowd and seemed really into it tonight. Not as much as when I saw them play London in the UK last year, but certainly a hell of a lot more than Wilkes Barre,PA. Hurt was a miss... but I gather the douchebag at Grand rapids got what he deserved for it...

It was a good crowd - especially the mosh pit etiquette and helping everyone out. makes me proud to be a NIN fan. to anyone expecting an encore... seriously, has NIN played an encore EVER?!

This show was awsome. Trent and the gang blew the roof off the Sport Hole again. Wanted to here Starfuckers Inc. and was really looking forward to having Mr. Self Destruct open. The sound was great for that venue and the crowd was totally into the show. I do agree that it sorta seemed like NIN wanted to get in and out fast thou, cant understand why with a day off today. Still all and all a great show.

did they actually play the whole song New Flesh or just the bassline part?

The whole song isn't played before it kicks into the intro proper. Like me, I'm sure most people weren't paying attention to the throbbing bass until the droning kicked in.

You know what bothers me? Ok, Trent didn't play Hurt this time because he ruined the piano the day before, but will he now stop playing the song for the whole tour? FUCK!!! I mean "Hurt" is the most important song of the show, it's not that I wouldn't go to a concert "Hurt" isn't in the setlist, but it's just a big part of Nine Inch Nails andit's a great closer

it was my first show and i was hoping for 'Hurt' but it was amazing non the less..i hope to see them again soon

I thought the show was great. One of the best of the arena shows I've seen, but that might have just been due to the setlist changes. Security was great as well - at least in front of aaron. Pulling someone in a wheel chair out of the crowd takes skill.

An odd request - if anyone took photos and has any of trent with the tambourine could you let me know. haha. thanks!

yes he has. except when he opened for bowie, every other time I've seen him he has.

So there were encores for TDS tour (maybe even two seprate ones if I remember right- it has been 11 years, my memory is a little hazy), and an encore for the Fragile as well.

they haven't used hurt as a closer at all since they started touring in 2005. they've played the song non-stop since the downward spiral came out it could use a rest honestly.

This may be a dumb question but I don't know because I have only been to shows in large arenas. Are you allowed to bring things like digital cameras? I'm going to the house of blues In A.C. so i will have no where to put it if I can't take in cause im taking a bus

i was pissed off from the get go. i'm not from toledo, and the girl i went with took forever to get ready, and then we got dinner, and by the time we finally got to the damn arena, they were halfway through something i can never have. that had me pretty hot.

i could see a little moshing/stupid neonazi slam dancing in 2 spots on the floor. looked like everyone around them was pretty annoyed. the crowd in general pretty much sucked. i was pretty far back on the right hand side at the curve, and i could see pretty much everyone. the girl in front of me was dancing her ass off, but for the most part, people were just standing around with a deer in headlights sort of look. i know the green haze was pretty thick, but people couldn't have possibly been that stoned. the crowd seemed pretty lifeless, and that reflected on the band's performance. i noticed so many times when aaron and jordie weren't even playing. it seemed like they were kinda walking around like they weren't all too happy to be there. gotta say though, i loved it when trent got up on the platform durning closer. it was reminiscent of him standing in front of the "monoliths" during fragility. also when alesandro strapped on a guitar during getting smaller (i think that's which one it was), i thought that was pretty sweet.

hearing dead souls again was great. i wish i could have seen tlbtb and line again. they sounded great in cleveland, and i constantly listen to the rehersal version of line from the only single.

moral of the story, relying on other people to get their asses in gear and get to a nin concert sucks ass, and next time, i think i'll go alone.

and i don't know what the industrial strength goo was that kept my left foot firmly stuck to the cement, but that shoe's been sent off to los alamos for testing. =)

oh, and burn sounded incredible. when the really deep bass kicks in halfway or so through the song, my jeans were vibrating. i love that.

This was a totally different concert from when I saw them in Chicago on 10/7. I liked both shows but this show was WAYYYYYY more chilled out than the Chicago show. I didn't miss Hurt like most people did, but I loved the addition of Dead Souls! YAY!

All in all, I thought the pit was very tame and nice except for the "neonazi's" that were mentioned above. There is only so many times I can get slammed in the back by a shirtless meathead and not get pissed off. The crowd was total WHITE TRASH and I couln't wait to get back to Chicago.

I hope I get to go see them in Vegas!

So the toledo show was awesome. The set list kicked ass I was soooo pumped/surprised to see Dead Souls live. I know everyone has already gotten this point across so I just wanted to tell you about something awesome that happened last night...I was at the palace of auburn hills at the Coldplay concert...walking to my seat...i look to my right and Jeordie White and Aaron North were just sitting there eating pizza with one of there roadies or techs. I talked to them for a bit and got their autographs. the guys were nice as hell and really down to earth. Just thought i'd share that w/the rest of you fellow NIN freaks

Did anyone see me! I was the black girl in section 18 dancing my fucking ass off! I love nine more than life, if it were at all possible for me to love them anymore than I already do, and Trent and the guys made me realize how much I FUCKING LOVE ROCK AND ROLL! Maybe when I see them again I'll quit being a chicken and get in the pit. But I wore a skirt, and I'm from Toledo, so I know how all those assholes are and I didn't want any of the racist psychos there fondling me or trying to lynch me. I can't wait to see them again! I want to go with some people who are really fans next time. I went with two of my friends who just came along and they didn't really know what was going on. I LOVE NINE!

man you aren't kidding the place was a fucking white trash festival. saw so many scumfucks with icp shit on.

Very, very good performance and an astonishing setlist. Having not heard "Hurt" was surprising, but the lighter incident was not to my knowledge at the time. The light show and projections were quite remarkable, and I really enjoyed March of the Pigs. Moving Units was definitely better than I thought they would be. As far as complaints go, Toledo is a shithole, and seeing nearly every sick breed of redneck possible making up the crowd is rather unpleasant. ('Redneck' and 'sick breed' in the same sentence is practically redundancy.) I really expected more silly goth's to be there. (As if it matters.) Parking was a debacle. Yeah, nice one-way-in and one-way-out, and construction/closed streets didn't help. Bottom line is: if you didn't attend this show, you missed out greatly. Catch 'em next time.

Overall, I give this show a solid 8/10.

I won't go as far as White Trash, but it was an interesting crowd. I live in Ohio and this was my first time to Toledo. Nothing against you Toledoians, but I do not plan on returning. I do not think the announcement that smoking causes lung cancer has made its way to Toledo yet. Being an ex-smoker it was killing me.

Well, Toledo does have the highest number of smokers per capita in the US..

But the best part is there is a smoking ban in the city of Toledo. Not that anyone really cares about it though!

Although, I didn't get any good pictures.. I did get some video from it. So as soon as I get them all uploaded onto this site. I'll post the link here. I wasn't that close.. and the video makes me look even further. and my battery totally died halfway through everything. So I didn't get all of certain songs and some just had shitty quality. But none the less if anyone is interested check back in a day or so, and i'll have the link up!

Does anyone remember which song Alessandro was up front playing guitar? I thought he looked a little funny up there but it was still cool as hell.

I'm pretty sure it was Getting Smaller but for some reason now I think it could have been With Teeth.

Well I personally have never seen that sign at the Sports Arena, but it looks like it fits in with the rest of the walls back where that picture was taken.. Maybe the Chinese really do have a Democracy at the Sports Arena?

Fucking awesome show..Second time I seen them in the past 7 months..Dead Souls is my alltime favorite NIN song and now I have seen it..I seen Tool at this venue several years ago and Id say that this one and that show are the two best I have ever seen...

First of all Dead souls is a Joy Division cover ya dumb fuck, other than that Toledo isn't the best place to see a show like NIN, Detroit was better in my opinion, second, I hope they NEVER come back to Toledo again, no offense to the band, or the music, just the WHITE TRASH that hangs out at the shows, like this unintelligent dumb fuck!!

Here's the deal. Apparently the arena parking (some close fifty feet away) was 10 bucks but nothing was posted out front as early in the morning as some of the people who arrived there were, including myself. So that guy in the video storms out of the arena with another funny looking guy, yapping about collecting ten from everyone that's parked, and basically saying that we had no choice now that we were parked. So I mouthed back, saying if he wasn't here early enough to let everyone know how much it was (no signs posted) then to at least give us all a chance to move somewhere else if we don't want to stay there. He went back inside. Shortly after that, Brandi & Marcus came out, asking us to move the line from where it had originally formed up to another section. Then, once more, the guy you see in the video came out, saying we can't block any entry ways...? Something like that. Brandi's and the putz's orders pretty much collided- watch the videos again, that's where they all just started bickering. Good time.

Where you in the row with about three or four black girls? They looked pretty bored before the show and I figured that they were there to write a paper for school. I was there on the floor with a sequined black hoodie on and if you were with them I seen you. Yes, there were some racist asses there.
