Master of the Ninth Arch
The show was pretty good but nothing special. The only thing that Trent said was thank you. The venue was tiny as hell and the crowd was very tame. This is my best shot at a set list:

Wichita can blow my ass. That was a horrible show.
To begin, the venue was not *nearly* even full. Second, before the show even started, some redneck faggots thought it would be funny to start the shoving. For the record, I don't expect a concert to be tame, but come on. Because of these fuckbags just shoving everyone, we couldn't jump or clap in the front. We fell at least twice while doing those things.
And some fucking priss girl beside me had pushed her way to the front, and then was getting all pissed off that she was getting pushed on. She had braces. Ugh.
Because of all this, my girlfriend and myself went to the back which was, sadly, more enjoyable than it was up there. Trent went down into the audience for maybe a minute. I don't think *anyone* sang the correct lyrics to Piggy. It was horrible. People would just scream or yell shit. I was very dissapointed to be from Kansas.
Wichita is good for Slipknot and Korn. The fuckheads there don't go for music, they just want to fuck around and ruin everyone else's time.
NIN didn't even seem to enjoy it. I don't think anyone was smashed at the end. Aaron actually set down his guitar.
Fuck you Wichita. I hope NIN never comes back.
Edit: The only good part about Wichita was some of the kickass people in the Spiral line. However, they were all from the KC area. KC was *so* much better all around.
I can't remember the setlist, but there wasn't much Fragile except for "The Day the World Went Away."

Saul Williams was really good. I was very impressed. He's not only an extremely talented lyricist, he made a few pretty funny jokes too. Like at the end of some of his poetry he threw in "I wish this guy would quit stopping the music to read his stupid poetry." Everyone cheered, but I must say I quite enjoyed all of his performance. His DJ's orange antlers were great.
Nails were really great, but I just don't think they were getting enough from the crowd to be amazing.
I managed to get a South litho, which was great, even though the accompanying show wasn't as much.

Three hour drive from Pittsburg, KS to Wichita, KS.
Saul Williams was interesting. I'm not personally a rap fan, but he definitely has a good message to share. After the show, I happened to run into his DJ, Kidtronik, and got his autograph.
There were plenty of empty seats, and a lot of the crowd were less than desirable for an attentive audience.
Nine Inch Nails, of course, put on a great show. I do have to agree that it didn't seem the band was quite as in to it as I might have expected. I attended the St. Louis show in October, and Mr. Reznor was quite talkative and interactive with the crowd. Tonight, barely a word.
My personal highlight would have to be during Piggy. My girlfriend and I managed to maintain a front-row rail position for the majority of the show. As he commonly does, Mr. Reznor leaned into the crowd while singing. At some point he worked his way to where we were standing. I reached out to make contact, and ended up hand in hand with the man himself. As the crowd surged, I somehow managed to get my hand tangled in his black plastic bracelet. We continued this awkward embrace for several seconds as we moved with the crowd. Eventually I wasn't able to keep up with the chaos and got tripped up. At this point, I felt the bracelet break, and I was free. (Sorry about that, though I'm sure you must keep a stock of those bracelets.)
I was initially disappointed that the Spiral members were not priveleged to a souncheck or a meet and greet, but this somewhat awkward encounter well made up for it.
At one point (I think during "The Line Begins To Blur"), I was admiring Aaron North's chaotic guitar work, when I'm almost sure he noticed my attentive stare and gave me a nod.
As I write this, I am sitting in the comfort of the gracious hospitality of thedocsuess79 (on the Spiral) and her father. Rather than driving back in a state of exhaustion and possibly ending up in a ditch, or sleeping in the car, they offered us a place to stay. Comfortable sleeping arrangement, wireless internet for my laptop, delicious coffee, and all the Remy Martin Cognac I can handle. I couldn't be more grateful.
We took in a digital camera, but in the chaos of the front row only managed to snap a couple of quick photos. I may upload them and expand upon my post later, but for now... goodnight.

Regarding this show, honestly, while I think Wichita crowds are absolutely abysmal, I was really happy to see that it seemed they took a real liking to Saul Williams and was quite shocked to be honest. Regarding NIN's performance, Trent didn't say anything outside of "thank you" at the very end (not a big surprise I suppose). Solid performance on their side though. NIN did an amazing job and seemed no less entertaining than any other time I've seen them. The setlist as you'll note is pretty similar to past dates so nothing new there. So for the most part, I was very content with the performance but as it was mentioned earlier, the crowd sucked.
My theory is that the 1 headliner show that passes through makes no difference to these drunken idiots. Whether it be NIN or crap like KoRn/Disturbed, all they know is that "OMGZ HEAVY MUZAK" will be played thereby feeding their aggression probably from living in a city like Wichita (The drunken bar fights just aren't enough!). One thing also that could be inferred though is that the Kansas Coliseum is honestly a smaller venue than many to be hosting this show allowing for not so wide open spaces and the fact they only give GA just means that many more asshats will be on the floor. I sat during Eraser on out for this show because I could only tolerate so much pushing and shoving before just retiring to the seats. It's just too bad Wichita always blows it when a good band comes through. This city's crowd has also been scorned by Maynard for moshing to the likes of 3 Libras so that gives you a perspective on how things really go down.
And yeah, I'd also like to say I was pretty disappointed they didn't let us in for the sound check and in fact tried to cover it up through the one curtain where some stage activity could be seen cause Rent-a-Cop security felt that was more important than actually getting people in. Weird thing was is that they inspected all us spiral members early on only for the waste of our time.
On a positive note, I did get some footage of this show. Did a lot of filming from the floor so as you can imagine it wasn't exactly steady shots of Trent and Co. I tried my best though. I got all of Mr. Self Destruct captured and clips of other songs before it died during The Day The World Went Away. If I can get this stuff uploaded, (guess I should try using youtube eh?) I'll post a link. Video was pretty good quality for some of it, but I'm not so sure about the audio. I think the audio may very well have been drowned out by the bass or so but we'll see once I get this thing charged up again.

Rottencore, who were you in the Spiral line? I was the guy in all black (suprise surprise) with a Strhess shirt on. I was in the Premium line, and almost in the corner once they put up that railing. Right in front of the guy in the top-hat and the girl with her stomach showing.
Another complaint was the homo who was yelling "THE PERFECT DRUG" over and over during "Something I Can Never Have." During all the slower songs, it was almost impossible to get into it because of constant shoving. I was dissapointed, but much happier in the far back.

I could have told you months ago that the crowd would be nothing but drunken violent redneck assholes only there to get stoned and beat someone up without getting in shit for it. The crowd was extremely tame. Over half the people in the stands were dead through the whole thing. Floor was only crazy because of people wanting to be violent. I don't remember anyone singing along to anything.
I think someone got Reznor in the eye during Piggy, as he seemed to run off to the back and hold his head for a while as he let the band finish the song.

Horrible crowd. It was composed of rednecks and 20+ year olds still dressing in goth clothing. Saul Williams was good and NIN was excellent, but they weren't in to it.
First off...I to am not a big Rap or Hip Hop fan but I did enjoy Saul Williams...Always good to hear something different and he did rock...Would you want to open for NIN.
I'm not a big fan or a Spiral Member...the eletists...do like the music, have the DVD, which is why I wanted to see the show...Looked like they kick ass and I wanted to see it and take my wife...Did.
I thought it was a great show...but what do I know...Ever seen Hendrix?
Zep?...Zappa?...Beefheart?
As a show it's one of the best I've seen in my 55 years doing this...The lighting was amazing and I was watching all of it...Congratulations to all of the people who are involved in putting it togather and I know that there's a lot...Watched the two climb up into the upper realms of the lighting with there safety harnesses...Had my Bionoculars...The back drop screen...The front drop screen...Front projector...Back projector...Great job to all involved...I lost count of the Laptops involved.
I wonder about Arron...Guitar Player right?....I'm sure he's great or TR wouldn't have him and I heard some excellant stuff from him but some of his antics seemed to distract from his playing...I'd rather hear him play than see him jump around... but what the hell it's showbiz right.
Last and least...The croud... who cares...whether it's Korn or anyone else it's all some of these kids have and it's OK...We got to see the show...The band got paid...Life moves on.

I've been to concerts all over this country and I must say that all I have attended at KS Coliseum have been very tamed down. Not sure why---perhaps its due to the bad behavior of some of our youth--who knows and who cares, really?!
There was a variety of people attending, all pretty well behaved, all things considered. Everyone did their jobs---which is what they're paid to do. I didn't care that I was searched, I have nothing to hide and am not stupid enough to jeopardize future "good" concerts over my need to be bad.
The show itself could have been louder but remains fan-fucking-tastic all the same! Good lightshow, pretty good involvement with and from the audience--I got to see some people shaking their asses --guess it depends on where you were seated.

As to the whole Spiral thing, I wasn't dissapointed. It's a priveledge, not a right, and I'm just happy we got to see a soundcheck in KC.

Saul was unbelievable. He was the main reason for my boyfriend and I to go down to the shit hole known as Wichita.
Did anyone see what Josh was wearing at the beginning of the show? Looked like a blonde wig with a black bandana. Also did anyone see Jordie reflecting light off his guitar to blind some kids in the left side of the crowd? haha....funny...

Same setlist (in the same order) as Austin (3/24) and Bossier City (3/25). The boys are taking this "every day is exactly the same" thing way too seriously.

agreeing with everyone else, that was the worst crowd ever! I will not be going to the Kansas Coliseum ever again even if it was to save my life. It was as if a whole lot of fraternity members found out that the band that made the Hand that Feeds and Closer were playing Whichita and decided to get drunk and show up.
The day started off great, but really cold and windy. All the members in the Spiral line were really cool people (except some that showed up later in the day looked a little like they got lost on their way to the mall). I was the girl with black hair, long black skirt, and Perfect Drug shirt. I was really hoping to get in to the soundcheck, but I guess I'll just have to wait til my next NIN concert. I also thought it was pretty pointless to seperate the members up into two lines.
Me and my boyfriend were up at the barrier in front of Aaron at the beginning of the show, which I loved until a guy who wreaked of liquor slammed into me so he could be at the barrier too, and started to squeeze me out of my space, it got to the point were I couldn't breathe, so I got security to pull me out. At that time, I was still happy because I thought I would at least be able to go off to the side on the floor and not be trampled to death, but I was very wrong. It was worse over there than it was up in the front. Some redneck shithead decided to flail his arms and keep screaming over and over again "fading FUCKING REMINDER!!!," during Something I Can Never Have. Pissed me the hell off because I have been waiting to hear that song live for ages, and instead I get smacked in the face by a whitetrash asshole. So, I reluntantly move off to the side were there were just a bunch of people just standing (which I just cannot do at a NIN show). During Gave Up, the people around me just stood there so I decided I would try to get back on the floor because I could not just stand there during that song. I hadn't even stepped 5 feet onto the floor when these two idiots started fighting and throwing each other around, to summarize I got kicked in the head, shoved on the ground, picked up, then shoved on the ground again. WAH, I know but the Dallas crowd was no where near this hellish. I was fuming the rest of the show because, I had to sit through Wish and Head Like a Hole. And the people that were standing around me didn't even know a single song except for Hand That Feeds and Hurt.

First off let me say that I personally thought that NIN played one hell of a show. Anyone from Wichita already knows that the Coliseum sucks ass, but I did like how intesnse the lighting was in the smaller venue. I saw the fall tour in San Antonio and Houston and even though the venue and the crowd were subpar when compared to those shows NIN were not. I saw NIN with Alex and Jerome, but Josh Freese had made such a difference in this band it is unreal. He has bred new life into this band and they are without a doubt the best sounding NIN touring band yet. I drove up from TX to see the show in my hometown with all my peeps and thouroughly enjoyed it. I really like the new setlist as compared to the fall tour. You Know What You Are being placed late in the set really picks the energy back up. Also all of the new touches to the lighting really finished it off when compared to the fall tour. So what if the crown was a typical Wichita crowd, this was surely not your typical Wichita show. Thanks a lot Trent! See you here in San Antonio in June!

Yeah it didn't hapen in KC... and the whole crowd pushing was stupid... The arena was so small and basicly if you had a ticket you can go anywhere (even on the floor) so that's where everyone went...
I spent most of my night trying to shield two small girls from getting squished and trampled... although TDTWWA was the best.......

Yea that pissed me off too. I couldn't believe that it was so small and that the security wasn't doing anything. Supposedly, you weren't allowed to smoke in the venue but we were smoking the whole time with a security guard looking at us. Never said a word.
