If there's a thing that i learned in this 3 days, is the fact that Nails make awesome shows.

Tonight was no exception. I was expecting a set with more rare and never played songs but didn't happened. Though, I'm really glad to have seen The Fragile with my girlfriend, it was a great moment, one of the best of the 3 days.

Into the Void -> Head Like a Hole. This songs and the others between, were magnificent. Perhaps, one of the most energetic moments of all shows. Trent didn't stop just one minute and broke microphones, "smashed" the lighters and jumped with Aaron. A pleasure to see a "animal" in his favourite habitat.

I'm in heaven after the 3 shows. I think i choose the second day the better. Better set list for my taste and i caught Trent's bottle : D And I'll never forget the moment in Ruiner that he looked to me (my girlfriend swears that he did it)

I already miss them. It will be hard to doesn't go to a show tomorrow. I'll do it everyday. Love NIN. Years expecting this. Great. Best shows I've ever seen. Better than Tool, Metallica, Deftones, Muse... Everything. NIN Ever. Trent is God. Period.

And let me make a little add to the set.

freaking brilliant, reptile again and the fragile...AWSOME show yet again
Master Traveler
Awsome shows. Besides the wonderfullness of getting songs like WITT I was so happy that they played sin tonight. That song live is just so bloody perfect. I prefered the fact that Trent didn't go out into the crowd tonight and instead stayed up on stage with the light. I dunno, apart from the people right in front of him (and I was front only a couple people off on sunday) the effect is lost in my opinion.

Apart from that well awsome light, awsome sound and awsome setlist. Can't wait for Zurich :)
Went to the saturday and yesterdays shows.
On Saturday, it left me with a uncomfortable feeling of not being satisfied.

Yesterday: better lights, better setlist (despite not playing “Hurt”), much more energy from the band, trent seemed to be enjoying it more, loved the UFOs (aka lamps) because of the literally “industrial” touch added to the stage and the visual effect of the lights when they are moving and even when they are just above the band, sound conditions seemed worst but maybe because the musics where played in a less controlled and a more “genuine” way. Josh is a great drummer. Never saw the band with other members but this one seemed very good.

The room wasn’t full not because of the quality of the band but only because of the greediness of the promoters: each ticket was 30€ ( = £20). The tickets for the UK shows are +- £25. The difference is that in UK people make 2 or 3 times what we make here per month. Both ends of the rope suffered with this: we couldn’t see all the shows because of the money and the band didn’t have a full house.

Until “Fragile” i was prepared to think “Well, this was nice. It’s a good concert. Me and my expectations...”.
But, in between Fragile and La Mer, where one piano note ends and the other is almost there and there is this void not empty but full, there were 2 seconds there or maybe it was just a fraction of a moment, with no thickness, no weight, no time or human barriers, where all that i felt was if there was beauty there. Just beauty.
Beauty.
Not a sad or depressing beauty but the one that makes you feel alive. That make you believe in something bigger than you. And i didn’t see that coming. And i woke up still having that moment with me. It’s like being angry with a friend and making peace with him. The rest of the concert was just the soundtrack of some kind of celebration of that rejoining. And all this with no drugs involved...
That fraction of the show was what i didn’t felt on saturdays show and it made the all nin-concert-experience worthy. This is probably why i have been listening nin for the past years: because i know that trent has the ability to create beauty.
Rare moments but, definitively, the best ones.

After that, loved to hear specially “Get Down Make Love”.

I’m not a spiral member but today i would like to be just to say to trent “You did it. Thank you.”
Heard that they might come back to do more concerts. Yes, please.

Feeling fulfilled and now, more than ever, wanting more.

great show.wow.

The last show in portugal was the most "violent", Trent was going around with his mic in the air crushing it to the ground giving some trouble to the roadies, Aaron was jumping on top of the keyboards, alessandro the same thing, it was like a big "good bye", in the end, aaron crushes his guitar on the pit (you can see it on the nin website: "current"), And I've got a very little piece, (it's a nice "souvenir" of the 3 days of NIN in my country!).

Catarina Limão, a friend of mine has some good photos from the last day. You can see it here.

Now i'm missing a night at a NIN concert, after 3 concerts :/ if it wasn't the money, in this moment i was flying with spiralhate to Madrid for the next shows! :P

Complication was played at this show as well, but I'm terrible at setlists, so I can't tell you where.

These 3 shows have been absolutely amazing, and I'm so grateful for the chance to have been there.

I'll write more later. I'm completely beat from traveling back home today. I'm sure I was quite the sight on my plane this morning. :p

It was a blast. At least i felt like it. My first show and i was blown, the power of those songs and of that band is thrilling. It was worth it to wait all these years for a NIN show in Portugal.
As sandra said before this show was indeed of a beauty that makes you feel alive. The lights were great, the band in great shape and mood. The sound contrary to other opinions i have heard was great and i have been to a lot of shows in that room and this is probably one of the best sound conditions i have heard in there. You could figure every instrument perfectly without the loss of power.
In teh end i came out happy and with a great recording ;) that i will be sharing soon. News will be posted here until the end of this week.
Cheers

I can't wait for that! :D

And i remember now, betwen the musics that where playing before the NIN show, i heared the sound about the Mexican woman talking about Opal. Amazing what they're doing around the new album.

Complication was not played at any of the lisbon shows. Pretty certain. Overall i felt this was the least satisfying of the three initial nin gigs. Setlist was unbalanced (Deep? Deep? WTF?) and Sin sounded disappointing imo. This coming from the person who has been waiting to see Sin live for ages and finally got it at his fifth gig.

Techs still hadn't quite got the stage right (way, way too much smoke onstage like on the first night) and Trent's voice was somewhat muffled at times (Sin in particular). Be warned: whoever catches the tambourine at the end of Even Deeper will get beaten to pulp at the start of Wish. As if anyone needed any incentive to start moshing on that one...

I am just as certain that it was played on Monday.
I saw them on the first (Saturday) and last (Monday) shows here in Portugal. Fu"%"%"#$ing awsome. And in this last day Trent gave me a present. It was i that manage to grab that instrument (don´t remember the name in english, "pandeireta" in portuguese). Like I said i was there on the first show and saw Trent throwing it into to the crowd finishing "Into The Void". And then on Monday i placed myself center/upfront and got luck...eheheh. The funny thing about it it that I actually mencioned it with my friends before the concert, that i was bring it home with me...eheheh
Bricklayer
Am i dreaming or was there a small part of one of the versions of The perfect Drug at the intro? I thought so when i heard it live, but no one mentioned, so i guess i dreamed.

Check this out, see if i'm wrong

OK, after analizing my recording the setlist posted here needs some arrangements. So, this is the correct order of things:

01. Pinion
02. Love Is Not Enough
03. Sin
04. Terrible Lie
05. March of the Pigs
06. The Line Begins To Blur
07. Closer
08. Reptile
09. Deep
10. No You Don't
11. Even Deeper
12. Help Me I Am In Hell
13. Eraser
14. The Fragile
15. La Mer
16. Into the Void
17. Wish
18. Get Down Make Love
19. Down In It
20. The Hand That Feeds
21. Head Like a Hole
No I din´t get my hands cut just some scratches caused by the strugle with other people trying to take Trent´s tambourine from me...ehehe.
I did leave the frontline before the end cause I wanted to film the final destruction of the show and the only place safe away from the security guys (i thought) to do that was in the midle of the crowd. When i starded to record it one of my friends told me that also there, the security guys were taking all the memory cards from the cameras that were filming, only photos were allowed. I got pissed of at the time then yesterday i got pissed of again when I saw the photo of the show on nin.com. If I didn´t leave the place were I stayed during all the concert I would be in the center of that photo (the one were is feature Aaron North smashing his guitar) right behind the girls.
Oh well you can´t have everything, right...eheheh. I prefer to have the tambourine...

Did you guys saw the Trent Reznor (short) interview yesterday on Top+. He loved Portugal and their coming back soon...
The tow songs (survivalism/my violent heart) that I already heard from Year_Zero are just fuc"#$%ing brutal
I guess Trent is still trying to "fix this broken machine". I hope he never fix it...eheheh

Sorry, but 'Complication' is one of my top #5 favourite NIN songs and I'm 100% sure they didn't played it (in any of the three shows). I was expecting it too much to forget that..

;)

By the way, Pandeireta means Tambourine in English.

Yes I already know that is called tambourine, thanks anyway
I will take a picture and try to post it here when I have a chance.
I understand you guys that hate me, I also hated the person who grabed the tambourine on Saturday concert. I supposed that someone also had lucky on Sunday too. And then on this last day in the begining of the concert I tried to place myself on the right spot to do it, and I reached. When everybody was clapping their hands in the final of "Into The Void" I was preparing myself to jump at the right time, and there was just this thinking "...he's gonna throw it in my direction". When I saw the bloody instrument over my head I didn´t wanted to believe....eheheh. Reaching it was easy. The hardest thing was to get off the other peoples hands of it. But just right wat they started to play "Wish" and that was an excuse for messing around...ehehehe
Master Traveler
:( do you wanna share the tambourine with me?:P i realy wanted it
oh well next time, but yes post a picture
