I really liked Trents new look when he first came on stage... he looked a bit thinner than I remembered as can be seen in the first pic

There's some more pics / movies , some incluiding spirallers (Sha, Shamangi ...) PM if you want to see those.

GREAT SHOW!!

and did anyone noticed the sounds of USWIRETAPE during the end of survivalism??
Master Traveler
Weinig gepraat, maar wat een show. Toch mis ik Sin in de setlist maar openen met MSD is ook echt geniaal.

Not much talking, but what a show. I still think they should've played Sin, but opening with MSD is just pure genius.

Yes I did, but what was that sound playing as an opening to MSD, could this be Hyperpower!?

Here is the agenda, soundcheck playlist and the concert's playlist! Great show, perfect sound! A bit disappointing that the spiral-fans were not allowed to attend the soundcheck although they were there whole afternoon! Shame on you Trent! These are YOUR fans! Treat them as loyal as they treat you! See you in Brussels and Amsterdam?

Excellent show in my opinion- opening with Mr. Self Destruct was just brilliant. Practically out of nothing they started blasting us with this song. Quite a surprise opening. I think the sound volume was a bit too low in that i could hardly feel the music vibrate my intestines, as I like it. (I think Ladytron was playing a bit louder). But still, the performance was superb (except for that instrumental intro to Into the Void, where both Trent and Aaron fucked up a couple of times- but hey we forgive them, right?) All in all the band seemed to enjoy themselves (with the possible exception of Jeordie- what's up with that guy? He seemed really bored and distant.)

Cool crowd- great intense energy in the pit. Had a really good time.

It was also really nice to hear TBotE and Survivalism- these sound just perfect when played live (especially the latter). I think most of the audience had no idea what these songs were and were a bit quiet and confused...

There was a guy who asked how I did knew the lyrics of these two songs :P

That's funny- i really think most of the audience was perplexed. I quite enjoyed Survivalism as I was standing next to this guy and when they started playing the intro we looked at each other and said "Cool.. Survivalism"- then we both sang along with the entire song and rocked out... that was a nice moment there I think!

Same here, some girl was like "what album was that from?"..
I really REALLY enjoyed last night's show! It was my first NIN show and I don't think I'll ever forget it.

I also noticed they weren't playing as loud as Ladytron (that band sucked brw, I believe the lady that was mostly singing served her purpose as an ambulance more effectively than as an entertainer). But I don't think it matters much, it was still LOUD.

I loved to hear the new songs from Year Zero, they played TBotE so sneakily.

I also secretly wished for SIN, but was very pleased with BURN.

AWESOME :)

I thought the choice for Ladytron was excellent, but I admit, if you aren't into electonics that much that band probably won't please you.,

Did anybody notice the fact Ladytron sampled a small sound from Grauzone's Eisbär?

Haha, the same thing happened to me, or could it be us, going crazy on Survivalism!

Awesome performance, Mr. Selfdestruct: the perfect opener, I really liked it to hear songs from TDS, but I missed Heresy and Ruiner. Both songs from Year Yero fitted perfect and to me they sound better live than the studio versions. But why playing Only, to me it just does not fit in the rest of the songs, maybe because it isn't one of my favorites. All the other songs they played sounded really great!

A shame some people couldn't shut their fucking mouths while they played La Mer and Hurt and why clapping your hands during Help Me I am in Hell, for Gods sake stop doing that!

Overall a great show and excellent sound, still in a whirl of excitement, can't wait to see them next week in Amsterdam..

I think people can sing Hurt along if they want to (I did too), but yes, while Trent is playing La Mer everyone should be quiet!!

And yes, it was a great show! Mr. Self Destruct was awesome! They didn't play one song I didn't like! It was awesome!!

Any youtube recording of la mer in 06 and 07 is loaded with loud talking, laughing, screaming, squaking shit-bags.

Could be, but it still is a shame...
I think people always talk during every song. Just with the quiet songs you can actually hear it.

I agree though, it was annoying.

la mer was so beautiful .... had tears in my eyes

Aaah they did WITT for soundcheck??? I really, really want to hear that song live. I thought I'd make a chance, because I'm going to a couple of shows, but I've been to 5 so far, and still no luck. Not sure why, but since I have heard they played it at a couple of shows (at the beginning of the tour) I have been obsessing about that song...

This show was nice. The crowd annoyed me though.
The smoke killed my throat...I can only imagine what it does to the bandmembers and Trent in particular, who have to perform in that smoke almost every day. That just can't be good for you. The lights do look cool though. Eventhough the "lightshow" is kinda simple, the smoke really gives it something extra and it suits the show perfectly.

I loved that they opened with Mr. Self Destruct. It's such a great song to start the show and really set the "mood" for the rest of the setlist. I liked the setlist in general. I think the beginning of the end still needs to grow on me, but Survivalism is so amazing, live! The combination La Mer+Into the Void works perfect as well.

I can't wait to see them in Amsterdam...I have been to the Brixton shows and this one...but the stage at Paradiso is so much smaller...I'm wondering if those lights will fit (or how they'll do that) and how it will look in general.
Yes, the lightshow was simple, but good! I liked how they had to 'operate' the hanging lamps themselves. Gives some kind of...oldschool feeling?

I liked the lightshow a lot.

Have fun in Amsterdam :)

hubby and i had an excellent time
we had never been to tilburg and were pleasently suprised. 013 is a great venue with the tiers...
excellent view no matter where you are and creates a sense of intimacy.

the crowd didnt annoy me much apart from the twit screaming JOHNNY! YEAH! JOHNNY! during hurt. it was funny to see people so close to the pit looking all aghast and put out that other people would dare to bump/slam into them. silly people - dont you fucking know where you are?
it could have been a bit more lively for my taste but i actually thought the crowd was a good mix. all ages, all types. not just the stereotypes, not just kids.
the smoke only bothered me during the set up between bands. once the show started i didnt even notice it. too busy watching TR and AN i guess.
the set list was great and well varied. ive been a fan since my senior year in high school (89-90) and was thrilled to hear tracks from PHM as well as stuff from broken. yay!

ladytron wasnt great. wasnt as shite as id expected given the reviews but i certainly wont be buying their album or anything.

it was a shame that the band wasnt accepting people with aftershow passes backstage. the official word was that they had a change of plans and would turn up at the afterparty but that didnt happen either and at midnight i was tired of the not so great techno being played and the drunks grabbing at my ass, so we went home.

it makes me wish we had gotten tickets to A'dam as well. i want more.

Great show!

More pictures, movies etc of the show? Post them here please!
Master Traveler
random question, but i saw loads of people on london flashing their aftershow passes around, do u get them from being in the spiral?
Bricklayer
No, I'm in the Spiral and I didn't have an aftershow pass...some of those people are prize winners others....ehm....get them from the crew or other people who hand them out to certain people.

Can anyone who attended this show confirm or deny that NIN played Reptilian as an intro before Mr. Self Destruct as stated on the printed agenda/setlist from earlier in this thread?

If so, this is the only time this has ever happened.

Even better, if anybody recorded it....
