Wow this show was even better then last night.. didn't think that it could be possible!

Highlights:

- Sin
- Ruiner
- Gave up
- Aaron's birthday (again lol) / sluts / TR vs Aaron pie fight!
- The Big Comedown
- The Fragile

Also caught a guitar pic at the very end (small black one with NIN on it)

better then yesterday, and very nice setlist!!!!!!

And a nice chocolate cake for Aaron, right in his face, with I nice pie throwing pie fight following!

I agree last night was even better than the first night. Better sound, better flow, better setlist, 10 minutes longer. Here is the setlist as I remember it:

Only caught the second Paradiso show, so no comparisons to last night.

My first NIN concert altogether, had a great time in the pit. For this, I don't mind 20 other dudes' sweat on me.

They went onstage with the houselights still up, kind of sudden. I expected Pinion or the likes and some anticipatory darkness, but they just popped up and went into 'Somewhat damaged'.

Judging past setlists, I was crossing fingers for 'Mr. Selfdestruct', but alas. 'The line begins to blur' was left out as well. On the other hand, enough strong songs to choose from... Decent energy through-out, vocals and guitars suffered a bit in the FOH-sound - but it could be that I was wearing plugs. Felt that he rushed it a bit in the piano-pieces.

Other thing we didn't get was 'The beginning of the end'. I was bummed, 'cause I was hyped for the new songs. Maybe they don't like the crowd response for the new songs enough - we had the fists going on in 'Survivalism', but I'm not sure how well the song translated to the rest of the audience. Maybe next summer.

I agree,

Last nigth was much better then the night before. The set was so different. Normally I prefer songs as Mr. selfdestruct and Heresy above the Fragile-songs they played yesterday. But the way they played it made yesterday's show so much better! The sound was very good and NIN was playing excellent. I didn't hear one mistake. Unbelievable. But there's one thing I've to say. The band looked like they didn't enjoy the show as much as they did on wednesday. And honestly I missed some of the energy NIN had on other shows I saw in Holland. At Rock in Park (2005) and 013 (1999) they were maybe better (if possible) then yesterday. Maybe its because Danny Loher and Charly Clouser are better musicians than Aaron en Jeordie. Even though, I had two wonderful nights i'll never forget!!!

Cakestock!

Crowd was more hyped on the second show, pretty much from the get-go.

Great to get Sin, Gave Up and the strolling on stage with the houselights still up to begin Somewhat Damaged was cool.

Again, Trent stopped the show, brought the houselights up and Aaron was presented with a birthday cake by two bikini clad skanks who smashed it into his face! The remains of the cake then went over Trent and the audience!

Aaron missed the guitar cues I guess for the begining of the next song as he was emptying bottles of water over his head and arms.

Agree that the sound was great. Being done by Adlib Audio from Liverpool who started out doing the sound for my old school stage productions believe it or not!

What a great venue the Paradiso is, eh.

fuck,i liked the setlist much better then the one from the first day.....there was so much feeling in the songs......the big come down was so fucking great.....

I can't post a full review because I can't even think straight today. I'll try to post more over the weekend.

Hilights were hearing The Fragile live for the first time, seeing the band's silliness on stage with the cake thing. Aaron threw cake at Trent, and he actually seemed shocked that Aaron would do that! So Trent thew cake at Jeordie and Alessandro. Then they were all throwing cake into the audience. I was standing next to h6a6t6e when Aaron kicked the spooge-covered towel at him. Some cake landed on my shirt, so h6a6t6e and I got to eat some nasty chocolate floor cake.

Jeordie is a rock star. He was totally digging all of us watching him last night. He was making his "I'm a stud" face all night. He was throwing all kinds of crap to us - picks, water, and he tried to throw the mic to us at the end of HLAH, but the cord wasn't long enough and hit some roadie in the head instead.

Quite possibly the greatest NIN show I've seen. (with the exception of the 2nd half of the Charlotte, NC show in '06).

Yeah I agree...yesterday was much better than wednesday!!!Def the best of the 4 shows I have seen now in the last couple of days.

I again took some pix and videos, 3gb in total wednesday and yesterday :-D, gonna start uploading them soon!:-)

I filmed the cake fight or better I tried to cause Trent was standing right in front of it unfortunately when the girls threw it in Aarons face.hehe But still pretty funny!:-D

The two Amsterdam shows were a blast. Although, I think I prefered Thursday's setlist. The TDTWWA, Big Come Down and Somewhat Damaged were highlights for me. Josh Freese was amazing as ever. I hope someone has video of him during TDTWWA. He fucking killed it.

The two birthday shout-outs to Aaron were pretty funny. Of course, last night's was especially so. Aaron looked genuinly embarrassed, especially when the ladies kissed him on the cheek.

That venue was probably the smallest venue I've ever seen NIN, including club shows. It felt really intimate. The stage too was exceptionally small. The crew was going insane on Wednesday trying to figure where to put everything. Poor Ladytron was on top of each other because so little room was left for their set up. (which reminds me, I thought they were rad. I saw them in Philly last year and they were even better in Amsterdam).

I'm now in Berlin and am crossing all fingers to hear The Becoming.

Perfect show, loved it more than any show i've ever been to!
While we're talking quotes, I loved it when the little dude placed the keyboard for Trent, Trent walks up and slams a little fast crazy tidbit on it saying " now that Ive got my shit together..." and instantly switched to playing Hurt, he doesnt like to be the funnyman I guess :P

Brilliant show, hope with audio and video combined we can make a nice souvenir DVD to this outstanding show...

ps. he should open with Somewhat Damaged more often, that is a kick ass song to open the show!

And about the bootleg... How can I get it without using dimeadozen?
And it's now in flac-format isn't it? Is going from flac to mp3 so much loss in quality?

Yep, the recording (I hate the word bootleg...) is in FLAC-format.
MP3's are crap, you lose a lot of the original sound with it...

If you can't get access to www.dimeadozen.org, maybe somebodye else can trade the recording with you?

i agrree ,great videos but you seem to be a bit partial to trent and aaron, spread the love , there are 3 others band members .... you def needed that cam on josh during TDTWWWA. just my opinion

The question i've been posting is this:
Does anyone know how regularly NIN play their video screens in the likes of actual projected footage rather then a light show during these concerts?

I attended a show in australia in 05 and I only got a light show, i will be seeing them in early may again and am hoping for a video show if i can get one, hence my asking for the regularity of them playing actual footage

I've tried to donwload the clips through that link, but it's not working on my (old) computer. Any change on seeing them through youtube someday?

There are some clips on YouTube already, just search for 'nine inch nails paradiso'.

Your messages are not being deleted. No there are no video screens or projections during this part of the tour. In Europe we are currently getting the 'minimal lighting' show, even more minimal then the one we got in 05'.

Your messages are not being deleted. No there are no video screens or projections during this part of the tour. In Europe we are currently getting the 'minimal lighting' show, even more minimal then the one we got in 05'.
These shows have been an exercise in less is more. The effectiveness of the interrogation lights during Eraser are awesome. That said I have never been to a European NIN show where they have used visual projection which is a major shame, all the US shows going back a long time have had some amazing use of light and image. I don't know if it is size of venue or cost or what that has meant that we haven't seen these kind of shows.

You do understand that the last comment is just a load of crap, right?
I'm sure it has nothing to do with him being an American, but everything to do with either the costs or maybe the size of the fanbase (and therefor the size of the venues they'll play). I wonder how big the fanbase is in Europe, probably less than in America...

It probably costs a lot to get all the extra stuff shipped to Europe...although other bands seem to have no problem with that, NIN always had "simple" shows over here.

But it doesn't really matter...for these shows, these lights are perfect. The venues are small, Paradiso is REALLY small. And yes, we get amazing setlists. I think the shows I've been to (3 in the Netherlands and 4 in the UK) were all amazing! I didn't feel like I was missing out on all kinds of visual stuff at all! These were pure performances...the concert you can see on BYIT is a show....I think I prefer a pure, raw performance, not getting distracted by anything else.

Shit this has become a long post...hope I'm making sense here...

I don't care if you convert the FLAC's to MP3's for personal use, but I hate it when copies are spread round in MP3, that will be converted back to WAV to burn a CD, that on itself will be ripped etc. etc.

Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but what about trading by snail mail if you can't get access to Dime? It's impossible for me to upload the recording to every torrent-site in the world...

What if people don't have anything to trade and just want a recording (don't care if it's MP3) of the show? Dimeadozen is only accessible to members, and most of us aren't.

I don't blame you that much, I blame the guy/girl who originally uploaded the MP3's to Megaupload.
He/she could have uploaded the FLAC's to Megaupload, that would have been fine to me.

And, anyone can have acces to Dime, as long as you have a little patience.
Every 20 minutes the database overthere will be cleaned (passive users will be deleted at those times) and new members can register after that.

Because of the MP3-issue many tapers don't spread their recordings anymore in public (the March 21 concert is also recorded by someone else but will not be spread in public) and I'm doubting if I will in the future.

Anyway, have fun with the recording in whatever which format, the evil has already been done...

Why in the hell would anyone not spread that recording?? Just release it in flac on 2 or more good sites and you're good.

Low quality MP3's are made from lossless quality WAV-files.

Jezus christ, dont be all gay about it. God doesn't give an African baby Aids everytime someone listens to a lossy mp3 of your recording. People who download it in mp3 format dont care about the quality anyway. People who do care about good recordings will find your lossless recording. It's certainly nothing that should keep anyone from spreading a good live recording.

Buy yourself a recording-equipment, take your gear into a venue, hit that record-button, act like a human statue during the whole show and you may spread your recording in every format you want.
If it is in MP3, it wouldn't be my choice, but I would respect your decision...

I'm sorry you feel that way. It really is an awesome recording you made. I don't think I understand your reasoning completely, but it doesn't really matter. I've tought about it, and I know now that I should have respected your wishes (because downloading a fan-made recording is a courtesy), and I certainly will next time when somebody records a show.

my wife and i where on vacation from the states (aka stalking trent and co. on his Euro tour) and i have to admit that the second show, was one of the best nin shows that i have been too. (losing count, but now over 20 im sure of it.) The second showing of the two, took the "cake' hehehe... we had great seats on the first balcony, stage right, crowd left(above where Jeordie was standing) with her spiral membership, which allowed us early access in from the side entrance.

here was a snap of trent in full glory that night...
