just returned from the venue. setlist attempt (not in order):

somewhat damaged
last
sin
march of the pigs
ruiner
something i can never have
closer /w the only time
burn
gave up
help me i'm in hell
eraser
wish
the big comedown
survivalism
suck
only
the day the world went away
hurt
the hand that feeds
head like a hole

some observations:
somewhat damaged was played with houselights on. i finally got to hear this fucker live. sweet.

survivalism is much better live than on record.

TDTWWA, HMIIH and ruiner were among my personal favorites of the night.

sound wasn't that good (at least where i was standing, the show from the with teeth tour rocked harder). the light show was minimal but ok i guess. i was definatetly hoping for WITT, deep and the becoming - maybe i get lucky tomorrow. i really wouldn't mind if trent gave songs like wish, gave up, sin and suck the boot. i know people love the "hits", but come on, they have been played to death.

edit: oh yeah, and ladytron were just plain boring.
Bricklayer
i had a great time! was right in the middle in front of trent. glad those moshers got kicked out. they were being jerks. sound was iffy but the band seemed really into it. tons of fun. eye contact with trent is creepy.
Bricklayer
I bought the ticket in a fit of nostalgia and the (as it turned out) mistaken hope that there'd be some interesting new material already, but I'm really not into nin mentally/emotionally any more, so I'm probably not the best judge of things. Still.

I liked Help Me I'm In Hell/Eraser (and the light show there was very good IMO) and Ruiner a lot; Survivalism worked beautifully live and really sparked my interest in the new CD.

Most of the Broken tracks fit the current style/mood surprisingly well, more then the songs from TF. Only and THTF are about as (un)interesting live as on CD.

And I absolutely aagree with TR.ace about the big hits having being played to death by now (*adds Closer, MOTP and HLAH to the list, and possibly SICNH, although I really love that song*), and I kind of keep wondering how Trent can bear to keep playing these songs over and over again and still at least make a pretty convincing show of putting some emotion into it. And Suck has some of the most awkward lyrics in nin history, I don't know why it keeps reappearing.
Master of the Ninth Arch
WOW!!!! Fucken great show!!!!

Setlist in 100 % correct order

Somewhat Damaged
Last
Sin
March of the Pigs
Something I can never Have
Ruiner (that's right, it was before Closer)
Closer
Burn
Gave Up
Help Me I'm in Hell
Eraser
Wish
The Big Comedown
Survivalism
Only
Suck
The Day The Whole World Went Away
Dead Souls (very surprising)
Hurt
The Hand That Feeds
Head Like A Hole

Ladytron Setlist

High Rise
??? Some Hungarian Song
He took her to a Movie
Soft Power
Seventeen
International Dateline
??? Another Hungarian Song
Destroy Everything You Touch

Although I really like Ladytron, they left much to be desired. Nine Inch Nails were... well there are no words. Trent was still pretty in shape even after 2 months of touring. Nothing more to say than: can't wait til tomorrow
Master of the Ninth Arch
AHHHHHH, it was SO good to see NIN again!!!

Ok, just a few things that haven't been mentioned yet (I think): the crew didn't hand out any of the setlists, so I guess/fear they'll be playing the exact same songs again tomorrow, eeep! :/

Saw someone wearing a self-made AIR t-shirt; heard people talking about ETS and the hotline (yeah, it surprised *me*, ok); apparently, no USB drives were found in any of the men's rooms; "Survivalism" rocks live (!!!); Only and THTF were the only songs from WT that got played; The Big Come Down was my personal highlight of the show (YEAAAAH, finally!).

Uhh, that's it for now.
Master of Achievement
Absolutely fabulous. The best show within the last few days. Great setlist. Perfectly clear sound. Dead Souls, Ruiner and The Big Come down were the best. I can not wait for tomorrow.
North sucks.
Bricklayer
...much worse than 2005 show, which was great.
...only survivalism played from upcoming record.
...but not whole disappointment.

talking out of my head but i don't remember the band doing the same setlist for the two nights in a row in a same city. of course, some tracks will stay but that's about it. i predict mr. self destruct for tonight's starter.

great pictures up there. can hardly wait.
and if you'll see a bunch of people talking about ETS in a weird language, don't hesitate to stop by ;]

it was so fucking awesome.. unbelievable.
Bricklayer
it was simply amazing. much better than the munich-show, yay :)
for tonight i hope for more quiet songs like the fragile, the line begins to blur and so on, but we'll see...
as long as the setlist is different i'm happy and a nin show is never a bad show!

I think Nina was talking about a different kind of sucking altogether..

my first nin show.
i had seating tickets, very good seats in fact.

we arrived around 7pm and got in around 7:30pm.
had some bees and then watched ladytron.

ladytron were actually pretty cool. if you like their stage appearance, you might find them really cool, and even enjoy thier music.
personally, i liked ladytron, nothing really special, but cool beats, excellent drums imo.

some time after ladytron, i saw a guy walking onsage with a green jacket who immediately begins to sing "so impressed with all you dooo!" since then, i got SD stuck in my head for... 2 days now, but yeah. holy shit. the setlist was so fucking amazing. ruiner, big comedown suck tdtwwa dead souls(!!) and my new fav live song: surviva-fucking-lism. during survivalism we sat on our cahirs (didn't want the ppl behing us to get pissed off) and shouted every single line. survivalism live>motp live imoo. so much asskickingness is propably a crime.

we left the venue with a big grin in our faces, knowing, that this was just one of two shows, and the next show featured standing tickets.

i did take some crappy pics with ma phone, but they are pretty bad.

Ok, let's get that straight. Compared to Finck, North sucks.
Compared to other men's sucking, I no nothing of North's one.

All I know, is that North is a gentleman :)

I'll put up more...
I'll try to get some front row videos from the other show as well.
Master of the Ninth Arch
there is a small chance that the austrian alternative radio station called fm4 recorded one of both shows. they already recorded NIN's 99 appearance at the forestglade festival which is known as the 2nd best fragile-era recording right after And all that could have been!
i will mail and ask them and will follow up with new info!

i'm not really a big fan of fm4, but if they've got a good recording of one the two shows .. well .. *fanboy* ;P

I would not count on it. It was not an FM4 sponsored concert AFAIK. The microphone at the soundboard is standard procedure by most bands.

on a different note. Hurt was magical on the first night. Just listen to the people singing along, wow. Pure emotion.

I have a question. How can you say the show was absolutely fabulous when you think their lead guitarist sucked? Not that I'm being sarcastic or saying Aaron is a good guitarist. (He's not even comparable to Robin, I know.) I just want to know.
Bricklayer
off topic...
I saw GNR last year, and Finck really stands out.
he's a great guitar player, and really makes things look more live on stage.
he's on the level with Axl and Trent.

I'm sorry I didnt get to see him while he was still with nin :(
but I guess the GNR gig is much better for him, since there, he's the lead guitar player, and writes songs as well..

I´ve somehow reconciled to the fact that current guitarist does a lot of mistakes and a cheesy stage show so I don´t even mind him.
He sucks, period. I can enjoy the show anyway. Sure, that anyone who can play properly without wannabe jamming would be better but that´s how it goes.

hm. i'm eagerly waiting for the mp3-torrent of one the two shows. if it's from fm4 - okay, if not - doesnt matter, as long as the quality is okay.

ps: the more i think of "oh my god, it's already 3 days ago is saw nin the last time live" the more i favor the though of buying a ticket for the frequ. festival. :D

Both shows are already on Dime in Flac (even the 24-bit). I am seeding.

Nina, what do you mean by north being a gentleman?

i dont want to mess around again with flac-files. just finished the march-brixton torrent. convert 2 times, rename, blbabla.... just gimme the mp3s!!1one ;p

ps: the 30th-boot should be finished within the next 3 hours. is there already a mp3-torrent from the show the day before?
Master of Achievement
Sorry, but I respect this....and everyone else should do the same.

Thank you Fredy, but to be honest I really do not care much about this anymore. In the past there was a lot of shit talking on some forums about this and at one point I just stopped caring. I mean, Id rather have people listen to the recording, even in mp3, than not have it available.

That line is a leftover piece from the file template I use.

So like I posted in the other thread: If you want to convert it to mp3 go ahead. If you want decent quality you know where to find it.

But I appreciate it when people respect it, thats not common!
Grand Pontiff
for having a lame provider, i could bite myself in the ass.
i cant use torrents. therefore i would be a happy boy, if somebody would up both vienna shows on megaupload or sendspace. might be as .mp3, cause ive got no flatrate.
or, soimebody might tell me how i can forward the utorrent port to port 80 with http tunnel. but ima noob in this therefore, i have to pay.

mentioning axl and Trent in one sentence is pure blasphemy. this little sucker axl is so laughable on stage.. i saw him on novarock and half of the crowd went to bed because GNR were soo boring.

duuh.

What's worse is to consider NIN and GNR on the same level

The worst is comparing two different music acts.

the two frontladies of ladytron were more sexy than trent. ;p

Master of the Ninth Arch
is there already an mp3-version of this show out there? i know that an mp3 version of the 30th-show exists! but since this show had a very different setlist i would enjoy listening to this show (in mp3) ;)
thx guys!

jst wrote:the two frontladies of ladytron were more sexy than trent. ;p
Yeah, they had this incredible charisma. I don't know why, but They were really attractive up there. Funny thing is, the pictures of them on the album cover, I didn't even look at them twice.
Master of the Ninth Arch
I thought I'd post a link to the post I just made for all the people who don't read (m)any of the other threads: YZ release party in Vienna, Austria.
Grand Pontiff
anyone got an mp3 upload from that audio?
since the uploader doesn't care anymore, i'd be happy if i'd get the audio...
so please anyone, convert it to a suitable format (mp3, m4a) and uploadig somewhere.
thanks :)
Master of the Ninth Arch
i have it in mp3 on my comp.. but i'm not used to upload stuff. just tell me where i should upload it (megaupload, mediafire...??) and i will do that AFTER the weekend ;)

haha, some weeks ago i kinda stumbled over your last year's gasometer recordings. hurt from the 29th is really fucking sweet. sounds better than any version from official nin-cds/dvds. the one from the 30th is okay too, yet theres some annoying clapping afair..
