From naut: They are having Meet & Greets tonight.

Hooray, second time in two years that Ryan misses out on it. :)
Prince Adept
From naut:

She asked Trent my question about if 10 Miles High will be played live. The response:

He said hopefully, after this phase of the band as he's going to do some re-instrumentation and change stuff around.

Soundcheck included: The Beginning Of The End, The Good Soldier, Capital G, We're In This Together.

WITT was awesome, they got this guy [MrHello from The Spiral] from the crowd up to sing the chorus.

By the looks of it, between 5.30 and 6.30.

EYB will be updating me with the setlist tonight. Naut is up the front for this one.

Edit: EYB just messaged me - "They left me up here on my own the bastards...if i knew they were all doing the pit i wouldve too"

Sorry for being late to setting up the threads. This whole time difference thing sucks.

just got home great gig!

me, im not is much better since Aaron does the slide guitar with trent on computer and alessandro on the other thing (technical i know)

They also played The day the world went away, The hand that feeds and Head like a hole :)

Trent talked about the fact that they all packed their Winter clothes and asked that this is our winter right?
Master Traveler
Wow. Much better than Sunday. Best show ever :)

nope Trents voice is still stuffed, he wasn't hitting any notes that he didn't have too..

WITT was at the M&G

Fantastic show, and great crowd tonight. Only stuck out the mosh pit till just after MOTP, as being a shortarse sucks. I'd just like to say a big thanks to Monkey for providing pit stabilisation. Anyone on here know this dude at all? Is apparently known for turning up in (I think) pirate gear on occasion?
Master ad Vitam
woo! Heresy, Reptile, The Big Come Down, Down In It
No slow songs? Weirdest NIN show ever, it felt weird without sicnh OR hurt.

and we're in this fucking together with guest vocals by ... (i've forgotten his name again) [MrHello from The Spiral]

third amazing show in a row.
That meet and greet made the 36hrs of line riding completely worth it
Too bad i was wedged in the front center of the pit between sarah and schteph. that really sucked. <3

i lost my black pick on the way home :(

ps. monky is spelt monky :P - i'll have pics of his signed mask up soon
I'll pass on that thanks! Were you the guy who's gf got punched?

Thanks for passing that on :) I was one of the two New Zealand chicks who ended up randomly chatting to Monky whilst waiting for the show to start.

Monky says "hi everyone, hello, :) and and i had an awesome time and thanks for being fun and i cant wait to do it again. He laughed at my mask!"

About WITT:
The 2007 Nine Inch Nails karaoke tour

during soundcheck, trent asked us for requests, and a few people yelled out random songs, and he said "Great, capital G" even though no-one said it.

then later, he asked again, and we all yelled out songs, like "last, WITT, TPD, heresy, ruiner" and other less likely things.
he said that they couldnt play witt because of his throat, then after a few more minutes of other suggestions he didnt like, he said "Hey, we can play witt, can any of you sing the chorus?"
We all went silent. None of us had the guts to get up and sing with Nine Inch Fucking Nails. We were in total shock we had been asked.

Except this one guy who raised his hand.
Fucking legend. He got many congratulations afterwards.
He only had to sing the chorus, trent did the rest, and trent loved it, it's the biggest fucking smile ive ever seen on his face.

I forgot to get MrHello's autograph

on a related note: sully refused to give monky his autograph

Great gig! (Still doesn't outdo last night tho! eheh).

So so so happy I finally got to hear Down In It, have been waiting for this one and it was awesome :D Annoyed that Myself/Kate missed the M&G (welcome to the land of Full-Time work and University respectively), but we listened to WITT from outside the alleyway entrance until we got told to fuck off because they weren't letting the group of 'late spirallers' listening outside in (kinda crap?).

Other than that well worth spending the money over the three nights, the setlists were changed up enough to make each and every show special indeed :D (Now someone tell Trent to do a U.S/Canada tour in June/July while I'm over there!!!). Nice meeting naut and co (I think that's who you said you were...) for 2 seconds in line :P
Master of the Ninth Arch
i missed it too due to full time work...damn mortgage.
Master ad Vitam
hey, i forgot to ask you darkscreamz, could you hear WITT from outside?
And how did it sound, could you tell it wasn't trent singing?

And he finally managed to take a good pic

Yeah we (how do I state this bluntly) KNEW (ahh caps) that it wasn't Trent singing, I was speaking to someone in line (I forget who) who said the person singing didn't sound that bad inside. I hate to ruin his hopes on Australian Idol but it was pretty bad, saying that I know I would've been worse hehehe Took balls/sausage sized clitoris to do it I'd imagine!
Great show
Terrible Lie and The day The World went Away I was waiting for these songs.
And The Day The World Went Away was left out of the previously posted setlist.

My review:

Well, it was a fucking excellent show.

The production of the show was much more stripped back from the regular NIN shows you may have seen on DVD. Due to the smaller venue they had much less lights, no screen projections, but they still managed to pull off one of the best live shows i've ever seen.

The Metro has three levels, one on the floor, then a balcony that stretches right around over the top of the bar with a glass pane going around most of the way (much like Academy but a bit more open and bigger), then a third level above that, I couldn't fathom trying to watch from the third floor, it'd be like looking at your feet.

I was on the second level, and after Serena Maneesh played I found a nice spot infront of two people sitting in single-person couches. I was looking at centre stage pretty much, and enjoyed a great view of the whole show. I couldn't see the performers sweat, but I got to see enough of that when I saw NIN 7(!) years ago at the BDO 2000.

It was a wonderful set, highlighted for me by Survivalism, Me, I'm Not and The Big Come Down. They played Ruiner for the first time in ages too, and Heresy. But it really was the newer material that shone the brightest. I was getting shivers during the whole set. It was all so good. My night would have been complete if they had played my fave NIN song, Last, but alas, it was not to be. Me, I'm Not was totally my pick of the night, with a slide guitar and two sequencers coming out to join the show. It's just such a different NIN song and my fave off the new record.

Some amazing and strange lighting colours were used, like fluoro pink and green, and a wonderful shade of purple that was used to full effect in The Day The World Went Away.

My respect for Aaron North has increased ten fold. He certainly got his spastic musician training in The Icarus Line, because he was fucking incredible, leaping off shit and swinging his guitar around like a bo staff. His wonderfully beaten speaker cab was hilariously weathered and old and yet he still kicks the living shit out of it. Josh Freese was a wonderfully active drummer, very into the show, Trent was Trent, and Twiggy was fucking boring. He barely moved and seemed to have a few technical troubles. Alessandro was barely visible but he multitasked his equipment and a guitar very well.

Thank christ for no Hurt or Suck or Closer. Very tired of those songs. And obviously so is the band.

Setlist was:

If Monday night was the greatest NIN show ever, then I don't know what the fuck this was. The band were more into it than any other Australian show. The Wretched, TDTWWA, Down In It, TLBTB, Terrible Lie (finally), Reptile and The Big Come Down. I've never had quite as big a grin on my face as when I walked away from that gig tonight.

TR quote before MOTP: "This is our last Australian show. So you know what pigs? MARCH!" Fucking fantastic. He thanked the crowd several times and seemed to be in a great mood.

No WITT but we got to hear it during sound check at the side door. Couldn't tell who the fuck was singing it. Apparently it was Mr Hello. Hero.

When we arrived we needed to use the bathroom. So we headed upstairs. Long story short, we found two thumb drives, both with what we think are spectographic samples. I'll put it onto MegaUpload as soon as possible. If anyone wants it to analyse, just send me an e-mail.

All in all, the best Nine Inch Nails show I have ever seen. It's great that finished the Australian tour on such a positive note.
Master ad Vitam
The hand that feeds WAS the second last song.

My twee little review of last night:

Awesome. I am only going to use that word once in this post. Nearly cried hearing Terrible Lie and Reptile again. Danced my little bottom off, despite being very squished up near the front stage right. Top night!!!

To the two idiots in front of me who spent the whole show with their cameras up taking photos and blocking off our view: DIE. It wasn't a photo shoot, it was a gig, FFS.

To the other guy next to me who kept putting his fingers in his ears when the crowd screamed - to quote Naut, harden the fuck up.

Thing for *me* to remember for next NIN gig: wear waterproof mascara. Panda eyes no longer look cute in your mid 30s.
Grand Inspector
Great gig. Not as good as last night, but still a great gig.

The Big Come Down and Down In It were definitely the best songs of the night and WITT during the sound check actually made me ejaculate a little bit...........alright, a whole lot.

Also got the band to sign this photo of Schteph and I from Team ETS UK's discovery of the ARG billboard. Oh yes, I am super LEET (I refuse to spell that in the more retarded way). Bahahah, at only Trent, Josh and all the tech's knowing what the photo was.

Image

One thing I didn't like about last night was the crowd, especially the two fuck heads behind me. However, according to sickamongthepure the crowd on Aaron's side were really tame. So it just must have been at the centre.

The first half of the gig I was going to myself, "good gig, but not great", then the second half was awesome. Tonight was my 16th show, and therefore the 15th time I have heard HLAH (due to the hissy fit on the first night, hehe <3) and that was definitely the best it has ever sounded.

About the post about how the band were much into it tonight. I disagree, they were so much more into it last night. But they were still awesome tonight. I am so fucking glad they are ditching Closer and Hurt. They are getting bloody boring.

Also, to the girl (aka. big whore) who was let in every night before the people who had queued since 7am (us) because she had obviously slept with the owner. DIE IN A FUCKING FIRE YOU BITCH.

All in all, great end to the 3 shows that I actually didn't think would go ahead.

An entertaining night, managed to avoid the perils of the moshpit this time around and get a comfortable standing position. God, I *HATE* diehard fans. Guy standing behind us thought it was his duty to scream out the name of every song that they were starting to play in a raspy death metal voice. Yeah, thanks mate... and then he had some fight with an equally diehard fan on the staircase. Charming vocabulary, too!!

An enjoyable night, not a bad setlist either (no 'Hurt' and little WT material! Great!)...

Hey all, first time post.

Went to the show last night (melb), and was the second time ive seen nails live. It was simply awesome, ive heard that mon was the best, but that must have been hard to do gauging from last night,

Highlights for me would be, terrible lie, wish, capital g, March of the pigs, and the whole end of the show: The big comedown, No you dont, down in it, the hand that feeds, Head like a hole!!! Good to see there were no shananigans like at other shows, just a good old gig, guitarist stage diving included!.

Im trying to track down a girl from the moshpit, it was just to the left of the centre of the mosh pit, near the pole holding up the staircase and second level walkway. Had slightly less than shoulder length black hair, glasses, and was wearing a weird textured top, like beads or something. Just thought you/she was an awesome chick and would like to speak online about the show.

I was tall broad shouldered guy, in jeans and a black t- (Lol, that description is pointless an a NIN concert). You were in front and to the side of the at the start, a few smiles were exchanged but you disappeared before i could talk to you.

Let me add my recollections of the M&G...

From Sunday there was a strong rumor there would be a M&G at some point in Melbourne, and this being the last show... early in the afternoon (around 3-4 perhaps) one of the guys in line (named John, I think? shiny black jacket, leg brace, thick rimmed sunglasses, scraggly hair) ran into some of the guys from the opening band at the Imperial around the corner, who confirmed there was going to be a M&G around 4:30, so we were all pretty confident at this point.

At around 4, someone came out and had us neat up the line and put up barricades. One of the early spirals had made an arrival order list and got things straightened out. We soon heard them start the soundcheck, which was still going by the time 4:30 came around. A bit later they counted out people and moved us to the other side of the entrance. Sully came out and moved down the line giving everyone instructions on how the M&G would go. No photos, no crying (heh). And he told us there would be a soundcheck.

They let us in at about 5 PM. Only about 40 people or so, everyone was right up close. The urge to photograph was enormous, being right there, not squashed to death, with good lighting... but of course rules are rules.

They started with "The Beginning of the End" and went onto "The Good Soldier". Trent didn't say anything before or between these songs (well, maybe a thank you) and everyone was respectful and didn't shout out (aside from clapping and cheering).

After TGS, Trent asked for requests. Then after pretending to listen for a split second, he said "ok, Capital G", obviously his intention all along.

Then after that, he again asked for requests, this time seriously listening to what was called. Most people were yelling our for new Year Tracks; I heard "Great Destroyer" and I was pulled for "Vessel", along with some others. He turned to the band and remarked "I don't hear a single song we can play". So then people shifted tacks and called out other rarities. I heard "Sunspots", "The Perfect Drug", "Ringfinger", but Trent was still clearly not hearing anything plausible. After "We're in This Together" was shouted out, he responded that he couldn't do that one, it was too hard on his voice. Someone shouted out "Deep" and he said "okay, we'll do Deep".

So everyone starts to get ready for Deep. Clearly they aren't used to doing that much, they were all breaking out their notebooks and looking up the parts. That's when, after a short while, Trent asked us who could knew the chorus for WITT, who could sing it. MrHello put up his hand and Trent said come on up here then.

And so they did the song with MrHello singing chorus. He looked very nervous but he did a respectable job of it; although to be honest, I couldn't hear him that well since nearly everyone else in the audience join him on the chorus. One funny bit was when he starting into the chorus for the third time during the instrumental break and Trent tapped him on the back and shook his head.

The guys in the band were in great spirits about it. Josh was smiling throughout. MrHello said "thank you!" right before the end, at the keyboard part, and we all cheered wildly. When it was over, Trent was clapping for him as well. And MrHello is now officially the King of Australia.
Prince Adept
the meet pwn3d. it was so much fun. Mr Hello singing WITT was priceless and the big grins on TR's and JF's faces were awesome.

Did you come down specially for the shows or were you already here?

Yeah, it definitely seemed like Trent had a lot to do when it was just a two-person setup. It's interesting to hear the difference in how Trent and Aaron played the slide guitar part. The instrumental section at the end was better with more active parts to it.
Master of the Ninth Arch
Oh, and I'm not sure if someone asked him directly in the M&G or what, but the word going around afterwards was that it's very likely they will come around to Melbourne again when they make up the Sydney shows in September, and they might even hit Perth at that time.

There's not much of a story I'm afraid, I didn't want to carry around a vinyl all day and I had my passport handy because it's the only proof of age I have, figured it would be cooler to get it signed than a napkin or something. Jeordie said "Um, is this your passport?" and Josh asked if it was legal to sign. I hadn't filled in my "in case of death..." section so I asked Trent if he'd like to be notified if I died overseas and he said sure!

I'll do other photos from Melb 1, 2, 3 another day. Thought I'd do this one now since it was requested...

Fuck it I'm on a roll. Here's some of my pics for this show. But first let me preface by saying they are aaron (and trent) heavy as I prefer to situate myself on his side of stage cause Jeordie is well.... boring. Not to mention the screaming Jeordie chicks. Ew.

Quick n00b question...how did ppl get to go to the m&g?? Obviously spiral members, no? But from all the spiral members, how did you get chosen??

I too am a bit curious about this.
Prince Adept
be there early.
Bricklayer
Well...if the doors opened at 8 @ the Metro, what time did ppl start getting there? I went to both Sun and Tue night and on Sun night, I could see the entrance in the lane for the spiral members which was chockers but on Tue night, it was empty...so for example, on Sun, what time was the M&G and what time did ppl start queuing up?
Grand Pontiff
Schteph and Christo got there around 7:30-8am most days I think. Everyone who was there before say about 3pm got in, I think even people who showed up later got in but I would say 3 to be safe.
Master ad Vitam
kreation wrote:But from all the spiral members, how did you get chosen??
There was no "getting chosen", luckily. If you're a spiral member or a guest, and you're there, you got in. Some people were dreading that it would only be the first 20 people.
kreation wrote:I could see the entrance in the lane for the spiral members which was chockers but on Tue night, it was empty...so for example, on Sun, what time was the M&G and what time did ppl start queuing up?
On tues, they let us in the front door instead of the lane.
On sun, there was no m&g.

okay, so how about we stick to what we know, rather than just making baseless insults on people we've never met, shall we? because i'm not going to sit idly by while you insult one of my best friends

firstly, we are both big fans. you slept out since 7am? that would have been a sleep in for the shows we queued up for in sydney. and we'd have quite happily done it again, but happened to know someone which meant we didn't have to. to be honest, we both felt a little guilty doing so, but knew that we'd have been there at whatever time it took to be first in line, and that if you'd had the chance to get in early you'd have done the exact same thing

and secondly, at the first show, what little water was distributed throughout the front of the pit was OUR water. which we could have kept to ourselves, but instead passed around to those near us

now, you obviously saw her (and probably me as well) at some or all of the shows and had ample opportunity to approach us then. but no, you choose vicious bitching and name calling under the anonymity of the internet.

wanna vent? i'll accept her being called a queue jumper, and i'll accept anything you want to throw at me, but i won't have some gutless, faceless wonder hiding under a screen name calling my friend a whore
Master ad Vitam
You're a whore too. Stop filling our tour journal with crap and go cry someplace else.
nympholet is fucking awesome and wrote:Spoiler warning! Not that i don't think christo is perfectly capable of dealing with this by himself, but i want in on this.

I don't care who you know, if you jumped the queue you earn the right to be called names. And if you're friends with the fucking beefy security asshole, of course we're not going to call you a fucking filthy slut in front of them, they are terrible enough at doing their jobs as it is, without them having a reason to be worse to us.

Don't want to be called a whore? Should have thought of that back when you were feeling guilty.
My own friends tried to jump the queue, and i'm very unhappy at them. (They're not getting any bootleg recordings that might happen to show up.)

(don't talk about people doing the exact same thing if they could, we could have sucked Sully's cock like Liam did and got a VIP pass, but we didn't)
what little water was distributed throughout the front of the pit was OUR water
Bullshit. Don't try to make yourself out to be a fucking hero.
I'm not sure exactly which ones you were, but i SAW the fuckwit bouncers handing water only to their friends on several occasions.
Dear tour diary.
Tuesday was the only day i was in line for the whole day, having on the previous days needing to disappear for a few hours to get tickets and showers.
I got there at 9:40am, armed with a milkcrate and a cushion (which saved my bottom during the line ride, and saved my ribs from getting much worse during the barrier ride)
I miss my milk crate, i hope it found a good home
It feels really weird eating real food again, and not having everyone around me eating japanese.
Since there was so much of it, the line ride was a much larger experience than the actual shows. All meetups should consist of lining up for stuff, or it just wouldn't be the same.

In fact, i even had to line-up for half an hour to say hello to megan yesterday, so hooray!
Bricklayer
Just on another topic...the premium membership for the spiral...I've read what you get on the site but can someone with said membership please post here what sort of benefits, swag, etc one receives with the upper membership package??
Master ad Vitam
I don't think there's really anything that isn't listed on the site.
For the US shows i went to, premium members were let in before standard members, but we didn't get a m&g, so i'm not sure if they care about that.

In australia, it hasn't mattered if you're premium or standard.
You definitely don't get any better service from spiral support either.

The rest of the stuff i'll just copypaste from the spiral:
* - a spiral t-shirt exclusive to premium members only [S,M,L,XL,XXL]
* - personal nin related email address
* - early access to venue on day of show through the spiral entrance [prior to doors opening to the public]

You should probably ask questions like this in a different thread, this one is reserved for flaming people from tuesday's nin gig

HAHAHa. awesome.

the wait is half the fun. lining up for stuff. we could meet up at a post office or a really slow bank. that way we'd getting treated like dirt by the employees and have to be really patient for a loong ass time.

Possibly but you missed out on some truly awesome queueing. Not to mention actually getting to know the people who are going to be in your personal space for a very long time. Sure some of us knew eachother from 2005 but there are always new faces.
farrrrrrrrk you wrote: and secondly, at the first show, what little water was distributed throughout the front of the pit was OUR water. which we could have kept to ourselves, but instead passed around to those near us
You guys guys CLEARLY knew security WHY THE FUCK didn't you tell them to get MORE water?? As if you didn't notice how many people passed out? Better yet if they refused why did you suggest we all put some money or something so there could have plenty of water for everyone??? Particularly after the first show........

I'd rather spend $10 on water and avoid people getting pulled out over my head any day of the week.

Also how about security saving pics etc for you guys... was that not a little unfair?
farrrrrrrrk you wrote: now, you obviously saw her (and probably me as well) at some or all of the shows and had ample opportunity to approach us then. but no, you choose vicious bitching and name calling under the anonymity of the internet.
It works both ways..... plus why would we talk to people who clearly took advantage of their position to screw over people who not only forked out for the Spiral but queued early. Plus we all had an awesome time getting to know each other, minding spots, so you missed out on that.
farrrrrrrrk you wrote: wanna vent? i'll accept her being called a queue jumper, and i'll accept anything you want to throw at me, but i won't have some gutless, faceless wonder hiding under a screen name calling my friend a whore
Our fucking photos are all over these threads so its not faceless at all you moron.

As my good friend naut says HARDEN THE FUCK UP!

Next time you might want to use your position for some good that way people won't be so pissed off with you.
Grand Inspector
Seriously, fuck you both. Don't worry, the fact that she knew hardly any of the lyrics was entertainment enough. I don't take back a fucking thing I said. If you want to be at the front fucking queue early like us. If she doesn't want to be called a whore, then she shouldn't dress like one.

And what pissed me off even more was on the second night when you decided it was ok to save half the centre barrier for yourself. It just ruins the gig for people who have queued all day.

OH, the water that you didn't pay for? Oh thats right. And also, we got fuck all from you. The water that was given out by the security was due to the fact that Trent had told the security to hand some out after how they didn't on the first night.

If you were so proud of fucking queuing in Sydney at 4am like you said you did, then why the fuck didn't you do it again? And you think if we had fucking talked to you about it, you wouldn't have done it again the night after. Like hell.

I hope you were the one that was raped in the toilet.

Also, this is a tour journal, take it to the fucking shitlist.

If you're so fucking tight with venue staff you should have told them to get some decent fucking security. There is a whole fucking thread devoted to it at the Spiral, we are not the only ones pissed off with having a bunch of steroid riddled meatheads who don't want to be there looking after our safety.

Your buddies shithouse lack of organisation and poorly run facilities pissed the band and their management off too.

Claiming the water to be yours is fucking rude too, nice to see you have such concern for those around you.
Master ad Vitam
Mentioning that you're "tight" with the metro staff is nothing to brag about. Eww. Metro.
Master of the Ninth Arch
the security at the metro were hilarious...farrrrrrrrk you, was this the first time these guys had done security for a real band? they couldn't even lift people out of the mosh, I know I had to help them...and thats not easy while spooning naut and satp
Bricklayer
hey, i've never said i was tight with security. or the managers of the venue.

but FYI, the reason that there was (slightly) more water available on the second night, and several boxes by the third night was because we told them to do something. the water we had on the first night WAS ours. we organised about 8 bottles prior to the show, but when no other water was provided i think i had a sip out of each bottle before handing it around.

on security, we were as disgusted as you are at them man-handling people. we also weren't given picks or sticks by security - you're confusing that with the seedy looking fat oaf who gave that stuff to his little sister. by the way, if you've really got a problem with security then complaining about it on an internet forum won't make anything happen. from memory the security company was called Nitro (that was just from reading their badges, i might be wrong). it might be worth ringing the metro first to confirm that it's the correct company, but write a letter to the company and tell them of their meat-headedness

and saying she didn't know the lyrics is wrong as well - she was just the one person in the room who would rather hear trent sing than sing along and hear the sound of her own voice. as for her dressing like a whore, well lo and behold that someone in the crowd wouldn't wear fucking black.

anyway, i have no problem with you guys being shitty at us getting in, but as i said, if any of you had the chance i'm pretty sure you would have.

i just draw the line at my friend being called a whore. i'm sure most of the girls on this forum would agree that such an accusation would be genuinely hurtful, particularly when judged purely on appearance

Well that was much better stated than the last time. I will retract calling her a whore, but I am still fucking pissed at you both, but you understand that.

The only reason I am ending this now is because this is a tour journal and I don't think it needs to be polluted with shit like this anymore. You know how I feel about you both, so let's be done with it.

I am still calling bullshit on the water though.

um lololol it was actually THE BAND'S MANAGEMENT who made security give more water out. I saw TR's security guy himself go up to the bar and come back with water to give to the crowd on several occasions. Plus he had to help them lift people out of the crowd many times.
Also, on the first night kids who got pulled out were dumped in the bar and were still BEGGING the staff for water - that's not on.

I went to the show on tuesday and couldn't believe the bogans trying to pick up chicks ,While i was trying to watch, but hey this was the Metro my good old pick up joint back in the 80's.Why would these dicks pay over eighty bucks to try and score a srew is beyond me, but hey i can understand why trent woud storm off and not play Closer dont ever bother wasting your money to see a band at the Metro it just dosen't work. But in saying that this was an amazing gig this band could play unlike the Rolling stones till they were Sixty, and still have something to say.It was like a therapy session to here Heresy, Capital G,And of course Head Like a Hole in a bleak and souless world.Thank you Mr Reznor for giving me a dose of real music that i wouldn't get from Linkum Park or from a Dick like Shannon knoll.
