Heresy, The Becoming, No You Don't, and Down In It were very welcome surprises. This setlist and this concert rocked. I don't think I'm going to be able to move or speak with a proper voice for awhile.
TR threw the mic into the crowd during both Piggy and No You Don't. He seemed amused how loud and enthusiastic people were screaming "No, You Don't!".
Hurt was amazing and the respect the Japanese audience shows during quiet songs is equally amazing...during the quiet parts you could've heard someone taking their keys out of their pocket on the opposite side of the venue.
Unfortunately I can't make it to the Osaka shows but this was a damn good one to end on.

Adding to Nagoya guest's post above, it's time for Japanese blog-round-up for 22 May Nagoya.
Before all that, I'd put a sort of general information. Nagoya, the fourth largest city in Japan, is just in the middle of Tokyo and Osaka, and is referred to as a "somewhat difficult city for overseas artists" - it's been said that it's difficult for overseas bands to have a successful gig in Nagoya. Many bands skip this city when doing Japan tour. Poor Nagoya. So, it is a real big deal for people there that NIN plays Zepp Nagoya this time. (In 2005, NIN was the headliner for Summer Sonic, but it was only Tokyo and Osaka.)
But it was said before 22 May that the tickets didn't sell and people were kind of worried what it was going to be like. Well, as it turned out, the Nagoya show was... (the beginning of the blog round-up)

- Aaron North rules! (and Trent Rezor is GOD of course.)
- Now I'm a big fan of Aaron North!
- I touched Trent's hand!!! And I reached out further, and touched his face!!!!
- A non-stop show, indeed. Trent talked only once.
- I can't believe he's 42. So full of energy.
- Isn't he 29? (See 18 May Tokyo thread.)
- They changed the setlist for Nagoya!
- I thought this was a Year Zero promotion tour, and they play so many songs from TDS and Broken, which is a happy surprise for me.
- I bought Broken when it was released, and was not very much impressed. But now I can tell I was absolutely wrong.
- The audience gets crazy as early as TBOTE (the second on the setlist).
- Aaron dives into the crowd! (Survivalism, MOTP)
- And this venue prohibits diving!! LOL
- Heresy!!! (One blog author writes, like: C'mon everybody, sing along, "Your god is dead, and no one cares! If there is a hell, I'll see you there!")

- I don't remember very well because I was in the mosh pit. Anyway I was very happy to see them live in Nagoya after so many years!!
- Me, I'm Not is not the most impressive song in the YZ album, but it ROCKS live, believe me.
- Many Western-looking people on the floor.
- So many people were wearing TOOL T shirts.
- During Hurt, many people put on their lighter (for ciggy). (In Tokyo, deconstruster saw some lights.)
- During Hurt, some clapped their hands, which really was annoying to me. I just wanted to listen in to his voice and the song.
- Thank NIN for doing this club tour, instead of doing arenas!
Also, many report that there was Kyosuke Himuro, a Japanese rock singer, at the show (at the VIP seat or something). I don't know anything about him, but I learned Josh has been playing for him on several albums. Wikipedia English doesn't mention this, but anyway...

I also found that Josh has played for other Japanese acts, such as B'z (one of the top mainstream rock bands) and Anna Tsuchiya (a female vocalist). But don't ask me about these Japanese acts as I'm not keen on them.
