Very, very nice performance tonight!
The venue was even smaller than I expected, about 300 people in the pit plus 500 sitting (just guessing). So there was an amazing atmosphere.

Sorry, I don't remember the setlist ... Maybe a spiral member can post it.
But I do know, that he did NOT play "Hurt", he didn't even try, and that probably just because of this stupid retarded cunt at "Rock Am See".
Will Germany ever see "Hurt" live again, after Frankfurt and Konstanz?!
That sucks big time ...

And I finally got to see the amazing lightshow live myself, after the "Rock Am See" dilemma.
Just amazing, above'em all, as expected after having seen the videos: The Great Destroyer ... Loved it!

At last but not least, Alec Empire.
I enjoyed their show, but the sound was not ideal. His voice was too quiet and a little bit too distorted. And the whole band seemed to be kinda bored ...
Anyway pretty good opener.

And they played The Day The Whole World Went Away and Dead Souls!

Just got back after throwing back a few beers. Sorry I didnt get the setlist but its been pretty much the same list as the prior shows minus hurt and suck. we did get last though. and to the genius who thought it was cool to not give Aaron his guitar back when he jumped in the crowd during March of the Pigs, that was NOT cool. Aaron got revenge by popping him in the head after he asked for him to let go of his guitar. Trent didnt speak so much, only a thank you. That venue was the smallest Ive been in, probably smaller than Atl Tabernacle. I was fourth person deep from Trent and was still like 7 feet from him. I guess since it was a small venue, it wasnt blazing hot as usual, so security didnt need to do much with passing water. It was cool seeing NIN in a circus venue though. And for the Alex Empire haters, what the hell are you talking about, they kicked ass.

I can tell you guys why they did NOT play HURT this show:

As you know Trent hates people clapping their hands in takt to slow and quiet songs such as Hurt, The Frail or La Mer.

Well, last Munich show end of March this year people did, especially during Hurt. Trent changed tempo of the song during that show to get rid of the clappers but still was pissed - you all know that Trent needs to sink into the ultimate and quiet sadness when he plays Hurt and cries his little heart out.

So, this time the band decided not even to play it to an audience that already starts clapping hands during The Frail - did you actually notice all the "schhhhhhh, silcence" calls until people finally stopped?

Okay, and here is my playlist, a bit different than the other one, tell me if it is correct:

And finally my comment on the show: AWESOME! Great atmosphere, even in the seated audience. Great show with 24 songs!!! Personally I loved the focus on THE FRAGILE songs - still my favorite album, TDTWWA is so good.

Compared to the March shows in Germany, this one had the best setlist, the first Berlin show in March had the best atmosphere (people went crazy already during first song somewhat damaged). The Munich show in March was the worst in all respects.

So... great job, come back to Germany NIN!!! And pleeeaaase play RUINER next time.

PS: I think it was not cool from Trent to bitch about Europe on YouTube.

Probably the second best (or maybe the best) NIN show I´ve seen since April.

The size of the venue brought back memories on the spring club tour. It was nice to see them in such a small venue again. Soud was quite louder than appropriate. Slave screams break fucking rulles.

this definitely was the best concert i've ever seen!
alec empire was good, it gave me the goosebumps when he entered the stage, although i gues his show could have been better if the audience had done more. unfortunately the sound was very bad, and i can't imagine it was for purpose.
i think he broke up earlier than planned according to the little time-out sign he made to his band.

nin were absolutely great. i adored the setlist, the mood of the audience... everything was right!
though trent didn't leave the stage, aaron did. he jumped right into the crowd, the securitys had some hard work to get him back (touched his guitar and his belly, hehe).
i made a looot of pictures, and it's always the same, you make 100 blurry pictures for a good one.

i've got to get ready for work now, i'll post the pictures in sth like an hour or so.

oh, btw... i think i'm a tourbus magnet. pulled out of the parking lot, and guess what came behind me? beat the street, yeah.

Empire was the last shit on earth.I was so happy when he finished,cos i really felt like i had to throw up.

NIN were awesome,although trent was as speakative as a dieing parrot,but what did we expect?!he still hates germany,but who cares.

Me;I'm not and the great destroyaaaaaa were cool,although surving the lightshow in the first row was eh...difficult.

and what a fantastic night this was!

at first I was worried about the band's desire to put on a great performance after recent disapointing events, but those guys let hell break lose! I also felt quite uncomfortable with my "seat tickets" and whether I could see enough, but it all turned out to be perfect, as I could see everything as things went loud and fast like I would have never imagined after the last gig in Munich, which was really lame compared to last night! although the setlist (which looks correct btw) was very similar.

I can't believe that I got to see "the wretched" again, since it is one of my all time favorite NIN tracks! and again LAST (holy shit!!!)!

the atmosphere was great for such a small venue and the general sound was awesome. with 24 songs, it was a great experience and the screen blew my mind! "me, I'm not" finally made its way up to my top NIN songs and is very inspiring for me to keep going with electronic music, design and to be excited about it.

pros:

- very nice and unusual venue
- great sound (at least where I was sitting/standing)
- great atmosphere within the majority of the audience
- seats seemed to be packed and as we reached the middle of the set almost everyone stood up and enjoyed the experience
- lots of energy from Trent, great singing, great playing, a quite long set
- I finally got to see "tdtwwa" and "dead souls"
- as an avid Josh Freese fan I was pleased to finally see him play in detail, since unfortunately I could not see shit of him last time
- screaming slave (wow!)

cons:

- bad sound during Alec Empire while the beats were great and pumping
- no NIN logo at the end :/
- you never get to see Alessandro at all, while he seems to be doing so much back there
- I would have expected that Trent said something, since he seemed to be enjoying the show after so many misfortunes...
- the light show during "only" seemed quite disappointing after seeing "beside you in time" on DVD, but the song kicked ass as usual
- I really don't know what the fuzz is about "the good soldier", as I find it a really boring song, but at least live it has got some power

another thing that bugged me and still gets on my nerves after attending several highly anticipated concerts this year and last year are the "fans".
I mean, is everyone a fan that goes to these concerts or just music enthusiasts or bored or whatever? don't get me wrong, but many many people just seem to be assholes, really! some of them are just standing there like they'd rather be somewhere else, while others keeping moving like monkeys with absolutely no sense for rhytm or highs and lows of a song/show (e.g. going ape shit while "the frail", "tdtwwa" etc. are playing) ... I'm glad that the show was so good, otherwise I'd have found myself being bitchy about those idiots which for sure would have ruined "hurt" by screaming and yelling, if Trent had decided to play it!

to make a long story short I have to say that Alec Empire was amazing although their sound was at times rather "noisy", since I've already seen him doing better! Otherwise his new songs are catchy as hell and I can't wait for the new CD to be released. "on fire" is already stuck in my head since they played it! thumbs up!

Another very positive aspect was the sound guy, Jason! This guy is AMAZING and doing a great job! whenever I felt that the energy in the crowd could be a bit more pumping I just had to look at him and I felt reanimated immediately! I really had to push myself not to look at him for too long, otherwise I'd have been missing out what was going on on stage... this guy is crazy!

Anyway, I hope to see NIN touring again for their new record in Germany in 2 or 3 years after the US dates and I do also hope that Trent has learned his lesson not to play festivals in Middle-Europe ever again! "Stick to the UK Trent, as they seem to know how to put on a great festival and can appreciate a band like yours!"

Thank you Josh, Jeordie, Aaron, Alessandro, Trent and the whole NIN crew! I owe you one!

I have a camera with great Mic with but I decided not to use it in the pit because lots of people had cameras _and_ were sitting so they could certainly make better videos than I could have in the middle of the crowd.

And I also don't think that Trent was angry because of some people clapping and shouting during the frail/la mer .. I mean come on, that's just ridiculous. Any crowd in the whole world would react like this. Most people were completely silent and the others stopped after 5 or 10 seconds.

NIN played 24 songs, Hurt was just not planned I guess. We got Dead Souls (which Trent seemed to enjoy, especially the clapping), TDTHWWA which was great too and Last.
Thats even one song more than they played at Wolverhampton. (23 incl. Hurt)

I also think that I heard Trent speak some sentences after the first few songs but you couldn't understand it because it was just too loud directly after the song.

Ive finally got home and in front of a computer!

Its cost hundreds of pounds just to see Nine inch nails in munich and it was worth every penny!

It was the 8th time ive seen them and probably the best!

everything from the setlist to the venue and the sound, also having alec empire as support was awesome!

so ive now seen the in england, france and germany.....next time they tour europe i am so doing that again!

Yes, you can hear people saying "shhhhhhhh...." several times, which I find is very nice and sweet.

Ok, everybody agrees it was a great show. So do I. After witnessing what happened at Rock am See, I was kinda afraid of this gig in "shitty Germany" getting ruined again or something. Well, wow! I still can't believe how awesome it was! Nice venue, nice crowd (though I wish people could be a little bit crazier), and we finally got to see the fancy lights, let alone the surprising setlist! The Frail was so beautiful, I could almost cry. I can totally forget about waiting in the wind with my wet coat/pants/shoes for 1.5 hour. Damn, I was frozen and couldn't stop shaking like a leaf, but it's worth it!

This was the best NIN show that I have seen since the Fragility Tour. Perfect setlist (to be honest, I didn't miss Hurt too much in there), awesome venue, a nice crowd and breathtaking visuals (the great destroyer !!!!!).

Did you guys see the lights/sound guy? He was dancing throughout the whole show while working!!

I have to say, I was quite happy they didn't play hurt, I was so scared some asshole would ruin it .. so better no hurt at all..

I agree, what an amazing gig. The atmosphere was very different from the concerts I attended in Berlin and Frankfurt, much less hostile. There it was hard to enjoy the music sometimes because everyone was pushing so hard, I almost had the feeling I would get crushed.
Not this time, everyone had enough space even in front of the stage.
Too bad they didn't play the hurt encore, I would have loved to watch it combined with those cool snow effects.
Still, getting to see Last, Burn and TDTWWA was a real treat.

Ps: to answer some questions some of you asked per email earlier...yes, we didn't play as loud as usual, we didn't use our normal lighting, and we didn't have time for more songs - it was a Nine Inch Nails show, so we make changes to fit their set up (especially when it's squeezed into a circus tent like this!) and not because we hate you - it's all cool....don't worry there is no conspiracy... this was all about doing a great and special concert together.

I agree. I went to the gigs in Berlin (the first night, 2nd row) and Frankfurt (3rd row) too. The crowd in Frankfurt was insane. For a long time all I cared about was how to survive, not to enjoy the music, but we got WITT so I don't really mind . The Berlin gig was crazy too, but not that horrible. People in Munich were more peaceful. I kinda regretted that I didn't bring my camera because I also found there was enough space for me to take some pics (2nd row). I couldn't even take out my camera in Berlin. And I didn't bring it to Frankfurt, which was absolutely a right decision. Like I wrote in my previous post I actually wish the crowd could be a little bit crazier, but the good thing was, you could focus on music itself more.

I don't remember exactly how Jeordie's face looked like, but I remember we waved and screamed to Jeordie everytime he leaned towards us. I though the crowd wanted him to jump like Aaron did, but he didn't want. He even stepped onto a box in front of him but walked back later. Maybe he was pissed: what do you want from me? Take the mic and now leave me alone! Or felt sorry: damn, they want me to jump but I can't. Let me give you guys something else for fun. So the mic was given into crowd. Just my thoughts. Never mind!

The crowd in Frankfurt was just nuts and totally violent. I prefered the crowd at this show since there was a very good, positive and still energetic mood.

Have to say, this was my first concert and I'm still completely amazed! Never thought, it could be THAT fantastic!

Any rumours bout bootlegs?
