Clearly they weren't trying to move up because every time the crowd shifted, I got closer and closer to the stage. That having been said, Robin is creepy and awesome as fuck. JMJ plays with all the emotion of a robot. Josh is amazing, as usual, and Alessandro looked bored. TR was really cool to see up close. He's so animated.

This really shocked me as I had a very difficult time getting the tickets I wanted and assumed it was due to sellout by fans through presale. I missed the presale, went to Ticketmaster when they first opened for sale and the only seats available were those just to the right and left of stage(limited visual show viewing). I kept going back for days to search again and getting the same seats offered even with clearing cache and trying from different computer/IP address/different Ticketmaster account at a friend's house. You missed the 10/16/05 with_teeth show, didn't you? Now that was a suck-ass crowd. I thought this time the crowd was pretty good, though a little sparse. Where I was at, everybody was into it. Some good cheering, everyone knew the songs. Overall I thought it was a decent crowd, although I had no idea how many skanks were into NIN in my town. I mean seriously, some of the things these girls were wearing, you'd think they were going to a night club or something. Oh well. As I said, I thought the crowd was decent, but the band fucking rocked. I've been to a lot of shows in my time, and this easily in the top 2 or 3. trent looked like a dog mangled his shirt (and perhaps it happened) but he was full of energy. but trent, you don't wear a brown belt black clothes! i was uber excited when The Great Destroyer came on; i have complete (and really good) video footage of it, but it's still loading.
i was looking forward to hearing/seeing Only again, but Robin's guitar had been trouble all night. during Survivalism he popped up behind JMJ and threw a water bottle into the crowd. btw, who did trent personally toss his tambourine to?
i was surprised by how chatty trent was. he was laughing at someone at the beginning of Echoplex, so i guess they WERE really having a good time. the crowd was pretty tame, which was nice. oh, and The Good Soldier was a nice treat. Videos to follow.

If you honestly think that Head Down is a good song and that Hurt and In This Twilight are great songs to end a show, you're out of your fucking mind. I never claim to be a true fan but hell, I'd kill for a little more variety, not just a bunch of songs from the last three albums which were average at best. I mean, those International shows last year had some old tunes from TDS anf The Fragile, is that a little too much to ask? I was the chick in the pink shirt, and pretty pissed that security accosted me for acting 'childish'. When I put my hand up to get the security personnel's attention, they just tried to pull me out of the pit. FUCK THAT. I was NOT about to leave the pit, and clearly they were misunderstanding my gesture (which should have read as "hey, fatass perv taking advantage of mah boobies). So I punched the shit outta that drunk dude. WHY oh WHY did that have to happen during one of the slowest, darkest songs.. and one of my "oldie but goodie" favourites? (Even more embarasing is that someone's got a photo of it :/ )
Apologizes if the momentary security chaos from me getting pissed for having my tits grabbed repeatedly ruined the moment for anyone, but seriously, any asshole who grabs my tits so I'll move and he can get in front of me deserved to have his ass beat. As far as everyone saying it was a "rough pit". Really? Really? I thought it was the easiest NIN pit I've ever been in.. and that was prob. my 20th'ish NIN show? I even remember thinking to myself "Hey, no bruises, Wow!". Even the Austin, TX show @ Stubb's BBQ was harsher. Even SA "With Teeth" was harsher. But hey, I wasn't there for the moshing, I was there for the show.
In other news - the lighting has just gotten better and better. Despite instrumental tech. difficulties and a few slow light-responses with the lasers/LED's, it was amazing. I especially enjoyed the close-camera face shots of trent on setup, mainly because it was live, when they could have easily pre-recorded it. Live art = signifigantly better than anything pre-recorded.
As much as Ghosts may not be as "exciting" for the typical old school fan (I kept praying "Please break something. Just smash something. Break your guitarists finger. Anything!"), I have to say that seeing them perform it live was amazing. The use of "unusual", household, and atypical instruments was great, and the beauty of both the lighting show and watching such a talented person do what he does best was, well, breathtaking.
In summation - any guy who can play a xylaphone and tambourine simultaneously rocks my socks.
p.s. - Whoever was discussing his fashion sense, I'm pleased with the faux leather-look pants and GREEN fabric belt. Animal-friendly/cruelty free = kickass. Watch some "What Not to Wear" with Clinton and Stacey London (TLC) and they will tell you repeatedly that black and brown = just fine.

I'm spoiled whenever it comes to being on the rail. This was my first time being on the rail without having a guy friend being behind me with his hands on either side of me on the rail, keeping the crush to a minimum.

Nine Inch Nails will always be Nine Inch Nails, with that being said, Trent makes it a habit of playing similar set lists at most of his shows with the exception of one or two songs. a "bonus" song always makes the show epic, so i really dont see why he could just spin a wheel and choose a random old school song. god knows that would only just make people more likely to buy tickets.
as far as the "new" stage and light show. im not sure what to think. the screen cage looked like it took some damage in south america/mexico cause that thing had some parts that were dented and out of alignment. only noticed when the whole thing lit up but was like a scar on your face that u cant help but stare at.
the whole interactive touch/light sensitive shit was seemed like such a fucking waste. is that all you could've done to make ur show cutting edge. please give me a break, i saw Kanye West in Houston and that fucking show put this one to shame! (yes you read that right, kanye fucking west had a light/performance/space opera show 10 times better) seems like a whole lot was carried over from the with_teeth concept. come up with better/different concept, its been 3 albums since then...

Hey lets face it San Antonio Sucks! S.A.S. no one can deny that, i have no fucking clue why he didn't do a Austin show. the Frank Erwin Center is one of the best venues in South Texas, but it is hard to get approval because it is is home to the UT basketball team.
god i hope he doesn't keep on touring after this leg! GO LOCK URSELF IN A FUCKING ROOM AND COME UP WITH ANOTHER ALBUM! oh and please let it be about true angst/contradiction/emotional enlightenment and not fucking POLITICAL!!! please am i the only one that finds it fucking cliche to sing about BUSH for all these years!
