All in all, great show, first time I ever saw the visuals in Closer and Me I'm Not!!! No Peter Murphy, but Reptile kicked ass still.
I think it's my first show where a song from every album/cd was played (i.e. first time I had a track from each of the Ghosts)

Just came home, and i cannot think anymore. The show was fucking awesome, the guys were great, the visuals were splendid, the crowd was a little dead but still cool!
I'm happy i got to see Josh before he leaves! I think it was my best show overall and am i wrong but trent said some words in french and called alessandro, le petit ?

I went to the Toronto and Ottawa show but this one was by far the best.

The crowd was just incredible!

The setlist was awesome. We got Reptile, Me I'm Not, TGD.

They used the camera visuals for Closer (in the verses) which was a first on this tour i think (except for South America).

Everything was dead on.

Holy Christ. It seems like every single show I go to is better than the last, but I don't know if that's even possible after THIS. I think that in order to accomplish that, I'd have to be up on stage dancing with the band, it was THAT good.

My first time ever on a floor for NIN, and one hell of an experience it was. Things started relatively calm (as calm as a crowd exploding with joy at seeing the band start up can be), but once MOTP started up, I was swept from my spot twenty feet back right up near Justin, maybe six rows of people back. By the time Gave Up was over, I'd been further swept (ok, I admit it, I maneuvered a wee bit) somewhat to Justin's left, and I had a really great view of him, Trent and Alessandro for most of the show. For the last third of it, I was in the second/third row of people, right up there. I Couldn't see very much of Josh or Robin, but when I did they too looked in astounding form. Show went off without a hitch, and I was utterly blown away. Lots of love from the fans, and Alessandro was really smiling, had this great big grin on his face. Trent of course said we were the best fucking audience of the tour so far. Ha, take THAT Toronto show I already went to!

It was a treat to see Me, I'm Not performed. Everyone was really grooving to that one. People went APESHIT over Reptile, too.

As an aside, if anyone recognizes me, I was the guy with wavy shortish hair, blonde pinch, wearing the black TDS teeth & salt trail t-shirt with metal plates on his boot-shins, and a bat cross necklace, which I used my lighter to look for on the ground when it fell off. To the lady who was in front of me wearing the white shirt: if you read this, thank you SO much for picking it up for me, I never would have seen it where it was. I apologize if I was digging into your back (or anyone else's), lots of pushing and shoving around the area. But that's to be expected.

Tidbit: I was the guy that started the 'Trent' chant.

Awesome! Were you able to see who was really shoving? There was an older, shorter guy I saw who kind of flew forward into someone's back and grabbed, and he looked apologetic but I thought there was going to be a fight.

Anyone know what Boris' setlist was? I hadn't listened to them before the show, but now I really want to check out some of the songs they played.

this was THE show for me of the 3 I've seen in the last week. I'm exhausted. REPTILE - was hoping for it, since it wasn't played in Ottawa. We were in 113 about 1/3 of the way up. That was an insane pit. You could tell Trent was pumped - the place was entirely filled unlike Ottawa. He said something like 'you guys have been the best audience we've had'. Lots of crowd energy. The Big Come Down, nice to get that one.

Now to get through the work day. (Including 2 aerobic classes to teach)

Edit - I forgot to mentioned that Trent used that camera that he uses during The Greater Good, during CLOSER. It was set up toward the back at the middle of the stage, and he'd go up close to it and sing right into it and you'd see his face on the screen all distorted, similar to The Greater Good. Has that been done at any other shows? It was very cool.

We got Me, I'm Not and The Great Destroyer... I like to think Trent read my little post back in October...

Can you please be sure to play The Great Destroyer and Me I'm Not in Montreal. I don't know if you noticed but Montreal may have been the only city to do the "crowd yell" thing (self-initiated) during RWIB of the With Teeth tour. For this reason, watching the BYIT DVD's RWIB is a let down...

Amazing show.

Amazing, amazing, amazing show! I was really looking forward to this show, as Montreal crowds are always awesome and full of energy (at the last MTL show in 2005, Trent made a similar comment about how we'd been an incredible crowd to play to).

So glad the hubby and I made the trip from Ottawa...the Ottawa show was great too, but the turnout was a little embarrassing (the paper said less than 4000 people) and the energy was kind of low (all LOT of people in my section sat the whole time!).

Anyway, after seeing them 4 times now, I've finally seen Reptile! And The Great Destroyer was simply badass.

Anybody hear what the turnout was at the Bell Centre?

Outstanding show. 4th time seeing Nails. Saw them earlier in Toronto but this show was sooooo much better. Crowd rocked, sound was DEAD on, and band was very energetic. Awesome setlist, glad we got Reptile and TGD, but the highlights for me were the end of HLAH, the end of Wish and MOTP.

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but there seemed to be a lot of "elongation". Boris' last song lasted 15(fifteen) minutes! I liked them but that was a little too much (the difference between a 30 minutes and a 45 minutes set). Also, it took a long time before any words were spoken in The Greater Good and it also took a little more time for Me, I'm Not to start. The end to The Great Destroyer was also way longer than the one we got in Worcester sunday.

I'm not complaining, I like noise and distortion as much as the next guy, but I was just wondering if some of these might have been caused by technical difficulties being taken care of while the crowd was entertained. (I so had an image of Trent eating a tuna sandwich backstage and gesturing to Boris to go on with their last song while he finishes it.)

they didnt play it at the LA secret show so i was so excited when i saw the green lights!

and im so glad Robin is back in the band & i was really surprised to see the bell center almost sold out. (sold out?) I guess im used to smaller nin shows haha (the secret one and the one in QC 3 years ago that was emtpy)

oh and how heart breaking was the finale? aha

i missed Boris and im so mad about it. gahh

i was in a great spot, people around me were nice and quiet so it ruled

Seriously, the best show ever! I thought Radiohead this year had the best one, but Trent Reznor was crazy enough to pulled something ever better!

To my surprise, most of Year Zero tracks live are astonishing! Me I'm Not, The Great Destroyer, The Greater Good, Survivalism and God Given [just wow!].

They played mostly the last three albums and Downward Spiral and two songs from each of the rest. Thing is, I've only seem NIN 3 years ago and .. yesterday and I've only seen The Big Come Down from The Fragile, oh and Even Deeper. I really wish to see at least one other song from that album.

The Ghosts part. I thought I would have slept, but it was the best visual of the show! Totally awesome! haha..

Now, I really really really want the DVD [or Bluray!!]

Excellent show, better set list than Ottawa and found Trent and band were more into it. They actually pushed each other a couple times, Trent was throwing his mic around alot more and pouring water on himself.

I was against the barricade, stage right, on Robin's side. Funny watching him dance around during the parts where he doesnt play. Cool watching him scream his lyrics, especially during head like a hole.

I've got a fucking 3 pages essay to write about this show, at the very least; but it won't be tonight because I AM BRAIN DEAD. I've slep a grand total of 5 hours since Tuesday morning and I can't think straight to save my life. Right now, all I have to say is this:

It was really cool to get the "South American" visuals for Closer. I've been asked several times what one song I'd drop from the set list, and I've always picked Closer... but the screenwork made something that was tired and stale to me actually exciting. I'm looking *forward* to Closer again. Heh.

And for the main event, what a show! and were to start?
I've been to a lot of shows in the past 20 years and this was quite the spectacle.

Music meets tech.

The grids were awesome and the effects they pulled with them were great. It blew my socks off a couple of times but when Reznor used it on Only, it was the best! I wondered during the show how do they ship this thing between shows?

Discipline rocked, Wish was kind of high point for me, along with Reptile. In this twilight was very inspiring. I whistled the chorus on my way back to the car.
I must give this show a perfect note. The sound was great, previous postings here left a doubt. The gizmos all seemed to work fine, although I was about 20 feet from the stage and stayed there most of the show, so I must have missed something. The performers were very tight and Reznor was a real pro, he's been on tour for so long!!!

I guess this would resume my high point:

It's now 2 days later, I'm so sore (wasn't sore yesterday). I'm so, so, so happy we got Me, I'm Not and TGD (not to mention The Big Come Down and Reptile). I can't believe we got Me, I'm Not and TGD, I so, so, so wanted those... what a great show.

The show was insane. I have seen few show on floor at Bell Center, and it was by far the best sound quality. Simply the best show I have heard yet.

Only complain I have is they stripped The Wretched for an unknown reason.. And I kinda agree about the dead crowd. I mean, ok the floor was really into it. I was about 20 feet away of the scene near center, and after I got outside of my socks after MOTP, I looked at the red's seats and.... damn.. they were still sat on their ass! WTF?

Anyway, the crown on the floor was nice, not insane, but really into it.

Hey Vric, nice video! Nice to have some memories of my last show.

First, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to the wonderful jessamineny. She is the one who bought a presale ticket for me when I could not access the site the day of the sale and I will owe her forever for it. I had the time of my life at the show because of her kindness towards me back in September and I am extremely grateful for it. I also had the privilege of waiting for a couple of hours with her and her friends before entering the venue and I had a lot of fun, even though it might not have shown because I was very tired on that night. All of these guys were very friendly and funny and I want to thank them for putting up with me. All of you here on ETS have put up with my bad English writing style for 18 months now and you've all been very kind about it but I can assure you that it's nothing compared with my atrocious accent. Once again, thank you everyone!

I got to my seat at 7:00. I had a very good seat; fourth row up from the pit with a great view of the stage. I was sitting next to one of the three direct entry to the floor so there was no one to my left. At first, I was very concerned about how little people there was. When Boris started playing at 7:30, I think that only 1/3 of the places were filled. That's a great shame because I enjoyed Boris a lot.

I was warned before the show that Boris was very loud and indeed they were but it was a very good loud! I did not know them at all and I will certainly check them out. If anyone have the setlist that they played, I would greatly appreciate it. Their drummer is amazing; he has a lot of energy and he puts out a great show as does the lead singer. They played both very agressive, noisy songs as well as more melodic, calmer ones. The singer have a voice that I found very pleasing to listen to. Again, it is a real shame that a lot of people missed their performance because I think that everyone that was there enjoyed them as much as I did.

NIN came out at 8:45. Before they did, the audience was cheering at every cloud of smoke that was blown on stage. By then, the Bell Centre was fully packed; I've seen that there was about 9.000 peoples there and I believe this to be correct. If it wasn't sold out, it was very close to be. I hope that the band noticed that and that it will encourage them to come back!

The crowd went wild as soon as 999,999 started up. The first band member I saw was Robin when 1,000,000 started. Trent was the last one to come out of the darkness and I saw that he was in a splendid form. Immediately, the energy from the band was felt by the audience who, in turn, reflected it back to the guys on stage. Everyone was dancing and singing right away. Josh seemed determined to kill his drum set! He was banging away as if his life depended on it.

Letting you was explosive. I think that it was during that song that Trent threw his mic stand up in the air, has everyone else seen this? That thing lift up like a spear, it went so high I could not believe it! The last 30 seconds of the song were fucking awesome. Justin, Robin and Josh were absolutely fantastic! It was even better than what we can see on the rehearsal video!

Discipline was next. Yes, I was standing like everyone else and I was dancing too but I did keep my shirt on! I loved how everyone knew the words to The Slip songs; people are definitely listening to that album. After that little dance number, Trent screamed at the top of his lungs "You fucking pigs... MARCH!!!" and we all went wild. March of the Pigs was pure madness. Trent did his trademark jump at the start of the song and let me tell you that for a short guy, he sure can jump high! Robin was all over the place. Justin was walking around like a wild man. It was absolutely fantastic! Head Down cooled the audience down a bit even though Robin was amazing. The Frail was cheered up a lot and it made me want a "Trent and a piano" tour very badly. Next came Closer. Of course it was very much cheered up by the audience and everyone was dancing, myself included. But the visuals of Closer blew me away. This is the most well-known song of NIN and a lot of people are thinking of it as a naughty, dirty song; the song about fucking! Many of us knows that Closer is so much more than that if you take the time to really listen to it and those visuals only made that more apparent. It was only the verses that Trent was singing up close to the camera and he looked almost terrifying. It added a whole new almost sinister layer to the meaning of what he was saying : " You let ME penetrate, violate, desecrate you" and that ME was not a nice person at all; it was almost evil in nature. And in the second verse, that almost evil persona was throwing at us all of the negativity and the desperation it had. I'll never listen to Closer the same way again.

Gave up was great. The visuals for Me, I'm Not are amazing! I was so very glad we got to hear it. I totally enjoyed The Great Destroyer, as did the audience. I could have sworn Trent's keyboard was going to fall but no, he managed to hold it at this impossible inclination degree! And yes, I remembered to check for the BSOD, which I saw I think four times at least.

I had the impression that the audience truly enjoyed the three Ghosts songs. I know I absolutely did. The visuals were breathtaking and added so much to the experience of the songs! I think that this is the kind of stuff that Trent had in mind when he put up that youtube contest for the Ghosts songs; and also with the images that came with the CDs. Those three songs made me wish for a Ghosts only concert.

The one thing that had left me a bit "meh" when I heard it before was the new Ghost/Piggy presentation but I finally "got it" when I heard it live. It sounds fantastic and I happily screamed "I lost my shit" along with the crowd!

I was totally amazed by the 3D effects for The Greater Good. Again, it turn a relatively benign song into something a lot sinister. "Breathe us in" took a whole new darker meaning, at least to me! Pinion, Wish and Terrible Lie were full of energy with everyone dancing and singing along. Yes, I did scream "fist fuck!" at the top of my lungs too; probably the only time in my life I will get to say this aloud in public! And there is something that I must say about Wish; you all know how much I worship Josh Fucking Freese; how much I adore him but still... I prefer Jerome's way of playing Wish's drums part. There, I've said it.

We had the 8 screens for Survivalism, with two lives one; the last upper right hand one on the folks next to the rail and the second lower left hand on on Trent. I find it very funny when I read that people in the seats were dead-like because that's exactly what I thought while watching the live feed of the people on the rail! I mean, they were just standing there! I even thought "For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen if Rob posts a picture of the crowd, people on ETS will have fun talking how tame the pit was!" which of course wasn't true at all. For most of the show, people in the pit were very much alive, dancing, screaming, crowd surfing, climbing on each other's shoulders; and I can assure you that us folks in the seats were having a lot of fun too, at least in my section we were; I did a lot of dancing and screaming myself and I even did some head banging! My neck is still sore from that lol!

The Big Come Down and 31 Ghost IV gave me a whole new appreciation of that amazing guy who is Robin Finck. I loved Aaron North in NIN and I still love the guy but Finck is just perfect for NIN. What a performance he puts especially during these two songs and on another one of which I will talk about later. I'm afraid that I left that show being a die-hard Finckster fan. What a show he gave and what a great guitar player he is!

I absolutely adore the new introduction to Only. I love it so much; it's so much better than the old one! The lighting was perfect and the effects went on without a single glitch. I was watching Alessandro a lot during that song because on the Beside You In Time DVD, he does that adorable "I'm following the beat of the song with my head" movement and I wanted to see if he still does it; I don't think he did but it did not matter because I was doing it for him for the whole song!

Bush and McCain were gone for The Hand That Feeds. We had some kind of a bit bland background lighting instead of the pics but it was all right because we were very busy jumping along to the song to really be sorry that they were gone. Head Like A Hole was also very energetic, both on stage and in the audience.

I was worried that the Echoplex set-up would not work but it did. Josh got a wild round of applause when it was completed, as if he was the one who made it work properly or not! Poor Josh, he must feel so bad when it doesn't work. As the song came to an end, I noticed the green lighting above the scene and I knew, I KNEW what song was coming next.

To tell the truth, I was pretty sure Reptile was going to be played because it wasn't on the Ottawa setlist while The Wretched was. And when I realized that we were not getting The Wretched (my only disappointement of the evening) I kind of knew we were getting Reptile so when I saw those green lights, I lost it. Yes, I am not ashamed to say it, I did cry tears of pure joy while listening to that song. I've said this before but I'll say it again: there is something about that song that gets to you; it's bringing up all kind of feelings, emotions from deep down inside. You just don't listen to Reptile, you feel it; you experience it. In my very humble opinion (right!) Reptile is the best goddamn song ever written. More to that, no matter how much I love Aaron North, my opinion is that you haven't live until you have seen Robin Finck play Reptile live. He fucking owns the song. It was one of the most intense moment of the night. I will never ever forget that.

Then, Trent spoke to us. First, he introduced the band (Robin was the most cheered for band member). After that, he thanked Boris and then said: "Seriously you guys have been the best audience we've played to for as long as I can remember on this tour so thank you very much." At least, this is what I've heard that night and I think that it's mostly right. You can listed to it here , courtesy of our own Indefinite Cure and make your own mind about it.

We got to dance one last time during God Given. That song sound so much better live than on the CD! Hurt was next and I was very anxious about it: were we going to pass the Hurt test or were we to piss off teh Rezinator? There was a bit too much screaming for my taste and I was kind of expecting a Trent Tantrum at any moment but in the end, it was all good. And no matter how many times I've heard it, the song really got to me. As did In this Twilight. It was simply gorgeous and heartbreaking, with the guys slowly leaving the stage one after the other. Yes, I cried like a baby there too.

All in all, it was a fantastic show. I am very proud that there was so much people there and that we got to show the band how much we love them. There was very minor fuck-ups during the show; Trent getting mixed-up in his lyrics again (although I can't remember on which song but it did happen, I clearly remember thinking that no show is complete without a little confusion on Trent's part), a little guitar trouble for Robin on one song (again, can't remember which one) but nothing that really messed up the show. Trent's voice help up nicely; Justin really got into some of the songs and dear God is that fro great for head banging! Josh is a machine, of course. Robin was all over the place. Alessandro was the more quiet of the band but of course, he is always hiding behind something. It really was a night I will remember forever!

I came in from Toronto for the Ottawa and Montreal shows

The Ottawa show was just great given the very small crowd

You folks were the best

I was front row and the energy in the whole place was the best I have felt in over 15 years of seeing them

The Hamilton show and set list were not as good as you or Ottawa got

You got a great show and trent fed off you all

As someone from Toronto I have to hand it to you

Trent was right to tell you how great you all were

I am sure Montreal will be on his radar for his next tour

You were a far better crowd than the one I was in during the show he did in 2000 at the BC

Wow what a night.
We had trouble walking after the show... we had presale tickets and were on our feet since around 4pm.. crazy.

First, we were in the front right on the railing in front of Robin. We were in the perfect spot because I was so excited to see him back in the band. What was really annoying though were these two security guards that kept talking about sports and after Boris went on they mentioned how loud they were and something about asian bands.. I wanted to say you think nin is going to be quiet wtf?

I really enjoyed Boris. For an opening band, they were great and refreshing.

NIN as usual does not disapoint.. the main highlight for me was Robin. I loved the lights and the camera used during Closer, and the cameras during Survivalism where ppl though that was really a couple currently having sex. Awesome. But I must say what I missed the MOST was the classic NIN songs that I got to see live which ruled such as Terrible Lie, Reptile, etc which everyone went crazy for and they were performed so well. We were all screaming the lyrics and it was great.. really the highlight of the night.

This show just keeps getting better with time...

I have to thank Trent for Me, I'm Not and TGD... only show in a while that got that combo... thanks, thanks, thanks

I'm a little late.. but this show is the best show I ever seen in my life! I was on the floor, right in the middle.. started about 3rd-4th row.. then MOTP. moved around maybe 20 feet, back and forth, hehe. It was sooo fun. Last 2 I was in the reds and disapointed about people in the red, but with this pre-sale ... The ambiance was so good on the floor, people really enjoyed the show and made it even more enjoyable.

Only thing that bugged me is people who think it's cool to yell like idiots while trent's singing Hurt, or the losers trying to get in front of you, when there is clearly no room...

Does anyone know how that works? Why can't MP release the footage? En passant, someone leaked MP footage from a Nirvana show at Foufounes from like 1991... NIN also played at Foufs in 1991.

question in what format you upload youre videos on youtube for good quality?
cause my video are good quality and i have to compress it to another format.

I did .xvid, .avi, mpeg ...none the the job, once on you tube there big pixel when you play video..

Vous savez peut-être, depuis quelques semaines je m'amuse avec le matériel filmé à Las Vegas et j'en fais des clips pour YouTube et Vimeo. Mon projet achève un peu et prochainement j'aimerais me mettre à plancher sur un projet de DVD complet, monté à plusieurs caméras et avec post-production audio du show de Montréal. À ce que je vois sur YouTube et à ce qu'on m'a dit, il existe beaucoup de bon matériel du show et ce serait génial de se faire un DVD vraiment classe. Allez jetez un coup d'oeil sur ce que je fais comme montage pour savoir à quoi vous attendre. Veuillez noter que tous les vidéos que j'ai fait ont étés montés à partir de clips de mauvaise qualité que j'ai downloadés sur YouTube. Imaginez ce que ça aurait l'air si je pouvais mettre la main sur votre matériel original non compressé du show de Montréal....

some of you might know that I've spent the past few weeks toying around with the Vegas footage, editing clips for YouTube and Vimeo. Well I'm almost done now and next, besides the HD footage from NIN.com, I'd really like to get started on a full blown, multi-cam DVD for the Montreal show. From what I've seen a lot of good footage exists so I think this show deserves the best possible video document. So I'm asking all of you : please, if you have video or audio of the Montreal show, whatever the quality, please contact me. pier_philippe88@hotmail.com

Also take a look at what I've done for Vegas and other place to know what to expect. Keep in mind that I edited all of this using low quality videos I ripped from YouTube... Now imagine what it would look like if I could do the same thing with your uncompressed video footage !

Idk about the format but uploading on vimeo would be better. you could ask this question on the random question thread maybe? there's a lot of geeks right there.

really?? i didnt know nin played at the foofs, bad ass show for sure! anyway, idk how it works, yesterday MP played some live show from rihanna and an other whatever shitty rnb singer from their show in the bell center, maybe they will put one day the nin show on tv? but i don't know if this footage is theirs or Tr's with all the rights, they would have to ask him if they can show it on tv.. but i don't think we'll ever see it, MP sucks too much to release a nin vid. and about the nin video in 91, i do believe it's possible it was filmed but it's probably sealed somewhere in their office. we should go commando and invade their building on st catherine street. or someone should sleep with someone who works there
