Security was close to non-existent; people got their cameras in without a problem. It was the first time in a while that I haven't gotten a full body pat down before entering a venue, which was kind of nice. The entrance used for GA (non nin.com tickets) was interesting... I never knew what kinds of random crap they keep in the back of an arena (fake flowers, gatorade, kegs, seats, and other assorted items).
The Bug was interesting... not quite sure what else to describe it as. At least no one booed them or threw random shit at them, which was a pleasant change from the previous opening acts that I've seen.
The bumper music was down right strange tonight; there was some Gary Numan, but then there was also some music that could only be characterized as elevator music.... no Peaches or LCD Soundsystem.
NIN were great as usual. The sound was good as well (unlike the beginning of Manchester). I'd been hoping for something that I hadn't heard yet (aka Meet Your Master, but I wasn't expecting anything different from the two previous filming shows for continuity purposes). I prefer the summer version of TBCD lights, but it was nice to hear it again since I hadn't gotten it yet this leg. Tonight's inappropriate comment during Hurt was "Trent Reznor is god" followed shortly by someone yelling for everyone to shut up. I'm amazed that they still play that song pretty much every night with all the shit that gets yelled during that song.
I liked the new visuals for Closer; they were much better than what I'd seen previously, though I'm still rather partial to the setup from 05-06 for that song. The visuals for Ghosts 31 were amazing; rings of smokes slowly floating across the various screens for a neat layered effect
Rob and company were filming the show tonight (for those of you wondering about the photos on nin.com; they're all from the soundboard where he was right next to a camera on a tripod. There was a second guy with a tripod back there as well, and a third guy in the crowd with a camera, as well as a what appeared to be a camera on the far right of the stage). The light guy had some Christmas lights adorning his console tonight as well. The only bad part about the filming was that there was this magical yellow line about 3 feet from all sides of the soundboard that you weren't supposed to cross and security kept bitching at people; they should have just stuck the barricade farther out and saved themselves the trouble. At one point before the Bug came on, they even made those of us in the back sit down, which was a little strange.
I could have done without the contact high from the high school kids in front of me with pot, but that's life. Also, the Arco Arena was really, really small. Granted, they had all of the upper level blocked off with black sheets, but it was still small.

That was an awesome show. I was on the rail and got some pretty decent pictures. The security to get in only wanted to know if I had cigarettes and to let them look in the pack. I did see them escorting a few people out near the rail that lit up. I had a great time; now to pack, shower, eat and try to get a few hours of sleep before my flight tomorrow morning. See you in Vegas, Beotches!

Awesome fucking show! My head is still fucking ringing. SO sick. Don't think the crowd was as good as oakland but this concert was so much better for me. This time I was right on the rail in front of Justin. Was awesome love the way he plays. ANyone who has pics or video from that section seriously hit me up my buddy was lame and forgot his camera. The blond girl in front of me for sure captured everything. Hook it up. THe presales confusion thing kinda sucked but it worked out. Still hyped. Wish I could have found a decent after party
Got to say never been to arco but that place is fucking tiny compared to oakland. I've heard alot of people dish the sound system and acoustics there but sounded great from the front rail.
Got to say on our side some fag said "HEROIN YOU TELL IT" right during hurt. Hopefully someone punched him in the face.

Saw three shows this tour and this was by far the best. That is all.

Show was amazingly awesome, and they all had a ton of energy and seemed to really be putting their all into it. I believe it was even better than the last Oakland show, if that's even possible.
It's sad this era of touring is done with, but it's been a great time.
I think the floor was more energetic than Oakland even - and certainly better than the last Sac show - perhaps everyone made an extra effort to make it up to TR for last time. I was in the pre-sale seats, and I'm not sure how our energy compares - it could have been better, I think. But it also seemed that everyone was impressed with and paying attention during the middle Ghosts section...there wasn't any whispering or rustling about.

TR's comments after Echoplex went something like: thank you very much. they were at the very end of a long year of touring, got one more show after tonight of this production that they worked on very hard and this band was going to be changed around and that he was switching things around and so it was a bittersweet time for them. they worked really hard at this and it made it all worthwhile to see everyone enjoying it and said they don't take this for granted. and then he made the usual introductions.

Fuckin amazing. As my first time seeing NIN, this was amazing. My friend went with us and he had never really heard NIN.
the performance won him over in no time.
The screens were beautiful. The sound was crisp in the Arena. The crowd was politely responsive (besides the assholes going to get beer constantly).
Everything sounded BETTER live than it did on the original album it came from. Honestly, I wasn't expecting this, but that was how it was. the Ghost tracks especially.

The show was awesome as usual. We went to the Oakland show as well, so we did notice that there were some technical difficulties. Arco arena is much smaller than Oracle, so it was great because we had the same front row seats as before, but much closer. I was highly disappointed with the people in our section though. We stood for the entire show because it is a rock concert, and we know that Trent feeds off the energy of the crowd, but the rest of our section, except for the two girls behind us, who rock by the way, were sitting the entire time. Then to make matters worse, they started complaining because we were standing. I am sure that Trent was completely disappointed with such a sedate crowd.

I liked this set list better than Oakland's. The Wretched may have been the highlight of the night for me and I also REALLY enjoyed the Ghosts tracks.
Did anyone else notice how he was changing up lyrics in The Greater Good? He kept saying "come on" near the end of it, maybe trying to get the crowd going? It seemed like they were trying harder than usual to get the crowd into it.
I'm happy I got to see this outstanding tour.

im posting for my friend who went, essentially. he doesnt have an account here.
after the show, he met justin, josh and robin (briefly) and did the whole "sign my stuff and take some pics" thing.
but there's one thing i should mention:
he asked if the perfect drug would be played at vegas. of course, a no.
justin said they just "dont feel like playing it ever", not that trent hates it or its too hard. in fact, he confirmed it HAS been played in soundchecks.
so, ha. the perfect drug HAS been played live to some extent.
if he types up a full report, i'll probably post it here for him as well.

I just got home from up north. Sacramento is about 4 hours from where I live, I made a stop in San Jose to get my cousin and drove another 2 hours to Sacramento. Whooo what a road trip, but worth it.
This was my second show this tour. I had floor tickets this time. I went to the Inglewood show with seats. It was crazy! Finally got to hear Meet Your Master, The Wretched and The Good Solider. I about lost my cool when I heard the The Wretched and The Good Solider.
Amazing show. I took my cousin who is responsible for my love for NIN. We had a fucking good time. Now all I want to do is sleep! I can't wait to see the videos/pictures that people captured.

sorry guys, would've posted a review erlier, but I'm still getting over the hangover. I didn't get back until 7 this morning.
But it was totally kick-ass. Except some asshole behind kept fucking with everyone, and talking during the quiet songs. I was far enough back where the energy of certain songs just didn't carry. Particularly quieter songs and some of the opening mmaterial But as soon as the set hit the frail it was all glorious. The performances were far better than my last show in 2005. Especially the performances for wish and HUrt. I didn't like hurt the last two times I saw it, this time it was perfect.... except for the dude behind me talking the whole time... just cause he knew it would piss people off.
The Big Comedown was definitely a highlight. even better than I thought it would be live. The updated light show is kind of silly though, the original would've been the most badass of the whole show. 19 ghosts is wonderful live. I was slightly dissapointed with the Greater Good. it's one of my favorite nin songs at this point, but they really need to crank the volume on that one... it was so quiet, what the fuck? esp. crank the bass dude, come on.
It was an awesome show best of the year for sure. it's wierd of all of Trents speeches make it sound like he has no confidence in the next tour. Like he wants us to think its going to be lame. But honestly, while performances are awesome and the setlist is even better, the light show, while cretive and interesting, is extraneous and gimmicky, and it seems to be a frequent point of frustration for trent. I'm excited to see how this next "totally revamped" tour is going to.
On another note I was NOT able to get my camera in, they did the whole body pat down thing, and I calle din advance and they told me that I could not bring a camera or tape anything, so I decided to just leve it behind and enjoy it instead. a wise choice.

I had the same problem too. I was in the back for the second half of the show. During Ghosts, douchbags were plowing through people to get to the back saying, "Wow this sucks," "I hate slow songs." The show was amazing and the crowd for the most part was great! I didn't really want to line up early with my friends (I love my sleep). But gentle peer pressure convinced me. I've never lined up any more than 2-3 hours before a show, so getting there at 8 was a bit crazy for me. But looking back on it it was worth it getting to meet everyone in the line. We had some of the nicest people there, had a line pizza party, went shopping together, it was fun. Fun until it got dark and the lines got drawn out and the wind pierced our already frozen skin and ticket troubles plauged the people in front of us. But thanks to some generous people, they got tickets and got in.
When we got in, I wanted to be slightly to the right of Robin. Everyone was picking their spots and I was a bit disoriented once inside but I swear I was to the right of where it would be. When I turned back, I was more right of center and wanted to move, but it was too late. The people next to me were the first people that were in our line, and they got some good footage. They'll email me once the get home from Vegas.
The show was great. The Bug's style was unexpected the first time I heard them. I didn't look them up or listen to any of their stuff before the show. I think I liked The Bug better in LV.
Once NIN took the stage the energy from the crowd was awesome and the entire performance was great. Like others said here, I thought it was better than Oakland. I met the security guard that hassled me in Oakland about taping. His name was Shannon and he said it was just business and he prefers open camera policies to concentrate on pulling people out of the pit, which they did very well. They were really on top of it. He was really sweet and made sure I was ok at all times. He even moved out of my shots when he could. I got pretty tenderized and I had put my hair up in a ponytail, but it was pulled out of the hair tie and got tangled on everyone, so if you're watching my videos and hear me yelling "fuck!", that's me getting my hair pulled. Worst thing ever. I have cuts and bruises but I don't mind those. The hair's a different story.
I was so happy to hear The Wretched and The Good Soldier. Those just about made the show for me.
Stupid me, I completely forgot about bringing my camcorder when I was packing. I was in such a rush because I waited to the last minute. I'm so sad because they officially announced any kind of camera was allowed. But I was able to get some somewhat decent footage with my camera. Here's some pictures on flickr. I have a bajillion other pics, but I'll add them once I'm home.

Towards the back the crowd got ugly during hurt, really negative vibe, but other than that it was much better than last time in Sac. No comparison to Oakland though, such a unique and awesome crowd for evertything.
Show was amazing. Brought a recent convert and an nin-virgin and they both had a great time. Shame this won't be officially captured on dvd, but I'm happy to see the efforts of the many talented fans on this message board.
Edit: Forgot to mention how awesome the smoke o's were during ghosts 31. That was really cool.

I cant get over how great the visuals were. I noticed that rammstein was actually at this show as well, did anyone else see them?? Till was just hanging out in the lobby area in the beginning of the show and the rest of the band showed up later. Thought it was interesting that they were there..

It was AMAZING. So awesome. Head Like A Hole was intense. I think Trent had a pretty good time... I know I fucking did. I was right in the center, third from the railing. I went with a friend of mine who played in the pits the whole time, he had an awesome time too, so fucking WIN for Sacramento.

Fun show. We drove up from Berkeley & Palo Alto for it. Glad to be able to record freely, and was glad to see so many people "carrying the torch" and recording this FUCKING AWESOME show for future generations. Sucks sooo bad about the DVD....
So... about that bathroom scene in Survivalism. Uhm... ? That sure wasn't there at the Oakland show! I'm not sure I can upload that one to YouTube!

I noticed that rammstein was actually at this show as well, did anyone else see them??
I was wondering who those guys were. We sat right next to them in the stands. They all had VIP passes and we asked one of the staff who they were and she replied that they were some band from Germany. Now it all makes sense.

The Sacramento crowd was a lively bunch. Lots of ass kicking in the pit.. even when the Ghosts tracks were played. People crowd surfing when they ought to enjoy the ambiance, no appreciation at all! At least it wasnt a lack luster crowd this time!
I was pleasantly surprised that they played The Wretched, expecting a cut to Closer. Seeing Robin rock out th the Fragility tracks makes me all nostalgic. I still miss Aaron though!

ok so this was my 25th show and i've gotta say that this never, ever gets old. my friend and i were first in line so we got to choose our spots on the rail first. i was very impressed with how smoothly the whole pre-sale ticket experience went. this was my first time doing pit for this tour and i had only experienced the spiral version of this, which was a lot less organized. the show was great and i was so excited they played the wretched! and i've gotta say i love how much trent obviously enjoys himself during the whole warning / vessel part of the show. he gets SO INTO pressing all the buttons. i very much enjoyed being directly in front of robin because homeboy is SO fun to watch. yes i liked aaron, but i won't lie. i completely missed robin.
i got some pictures and video. the sound on the video is pretty bad, but i think i did a pretty good job of keeping my arm steady so they're still fun to watch. ok i think that's all i have to say.

During The Frail, towards the end, I yelled "The Wretched!" really loud (I was at the rail and facing Trent), I was quite happy that they played it. I love the The Frail but it is missing something if it doesn't go into The Wretched. During the afterparty at Vegas, I bragged that my yelling for the song made it happen - thankfully everyone there knows I am full of shit.

It's so funny that we ran into you guys in Vegas. I bet we'll bump into each other more often from now on. Seemed like everyone used my spot as an exit point. I spent a good portion of the show ducked or with my face squished against security tummy. Sucks being short sometimes. But the end of that song was really cool.
