Yes... Awesome set.

Amazing show!! I'm just saving the pics and vids to my computer now. Seems every time I see them, they out-do the last show many times over. Had amazing seats and the effects were insane.

Ya, you had to be there. All of you who are waiting, you really have something incredible to look forward to!

This time around, the set list i think lends itself to the more in depth fans. Ya, there are the standards (closer etc) but ghosts, and some of the more less "popular" music is also here in this show, really showing a diversity now in the show.

A great little fuck up near the end too... Great adlib stuff as they sorted it out.

Oh ya, out front of the dome, they had this huge sign that said NO RECORDING DEVICES etc etc etc... I put my camera back in my car, but attempted to bring in my mp3 player (recorder) and was successful. The phone also takes vids and pics, as did almost everyone elses. There is going to be TONS of vids and pics of this show. On Hurt, it seemed like there was almost as many cell phone lcd's as lighters.

That sign was utter bullshit. Not only did they not pat me down, check for cameras or anything written on that sign, but they didn't even check that my tickets matched my ID. They just scanned my ticket and gave me a floor bracelet (for some unkown reason they we're giving out different bracelets when getting onto the floor, so suffice to say I needed two for some reason).

Back to the show. Amazing. Freeses freestyle at the start of Echoplex 2.0 was awesome. Stunning visuals, and the band sounded so good. Damn I am simply wiped. Time for bed.

All in all I would have to say that this show far exceeded my expectations. My only complaints would have to be Crystal Castles (I have the CD and her voice is nowhere near as annoying on it as it was at the 'Dome) and the jackass security guards bragging about taking down a drunk fan right behind me during hurt. I told them to shut up but they didn't hear me. I had to ask them to be quiet or move away from that area. Amazingly they were apologetic and moved away.

I also saw Rob lurking around the sound booth a few times during the show. I wanted to ask him if they were gonna make a dvd for the tour, but I didn't know how he'd react to being harassed

I saw that sign too, but sadly didn't bring my camera with me either because at the doors to the 'dome there was a sign saying that video/audio recording equipment was banned, but only professional still cameras were prohibited.

Incredible show... absolutely amazing. I am ruined for all future concerts this one has set the bar far too high for anyone else to even begin to approach. Out-f***ing-standing.

Calgary crowd was great thanks for showing us from Deadmonton a good time.
Crystal Castle did a wicked job. I wish they would play another song or two. That might just be me, but everyone in my group said they killed it tonight and were very impressed.
Josh F. stole the show a few times. Once in Eco and once in Head

I don't want to complain, but I will say the douche that was behind me talking shit and yelling about how "who needs 3 xylphones, i mean what is this xylphone city" needs to go home and suck on his moms tit. Talk about it for a min or two whatever I can handle that, not though all the ghost tracks. I just moved away, I feel sorry for the people that stuck around him.

I don't know about you but I liked CC's live performance. Obviously it's not music for everyone but I had a blast unwinding even before NIИ came on.

Oh yeah! I loved the show... included Crystal Castles. Great live drumming and synth/keyboards. I really liked the live vocoder as well... the rest of the vocals, well, not my style... but it did remind me a lot of Lord on Acid (as a feel).

Great visuals as per usual. A tight show... and I loved the "Special" part of the show for the start of the encore.

Well, no shocking revelations here: the show was awesome. Lights and effects were so dazzling (yeah I'm using that word), especially since my seats waaaay at the back of the Saddledome were positioned directly in front of those spotlights, albeit far away. Very cool video feed of TR morphing into the background during "The Greater Good".

Really good encore; lots of energy left. The setlist order worked really well here. The bit of technical difficulties during "Echoplex" was amusing, but I was also distracted at that moment by the security guards wrestling some ne'er-do-well to the floor out in front of our section. Double Drama!!!

I too love that bridge during Closer, but it seemed short this time. Meet Your Master sounded excellent and I have to agree that JMJ is pretty skilled on that bass, from what I can tell anyway. And of course Josh Freese rocked it.

Yeah, aside from the typical "Canada is great and beautiful and George Bush-free" spiel he's been giving lately, TR wasn't very chatty tonight. What did he say after bemoaning the fact that he soon had to return to the land of Bush? Something about him being a fuck?

I was pretty pleased because, aside from nonstop pot-smoking from every side, my section was pretty cool. No loud drunken assholes, but just people really into the show.

Great show; I wish they came around more often!

Dude, what section were you in? Those pics look similar to what I saw from my seats!

Thanks Nscafe for your pics, too. Those are great. Throughout the whole show, I was trying to figure out what TR was wearing (I know, I know) because I couldn't even see that from my seat. Now I know!

Oh yeah and all I have to say about Crystal Castles is that the singer better sound better on their albums than she does live, because...wow, that was grating. I didn't bother to check them out before, so I had no idea what to expect. Vocals aside, the music sounded polished and I enjoyed that aspect.

just got home from the show and it was amazing (not that i expected any less). I was very surprised at how many ppl in my section were sitting down considering I bought tickets with the presale... w/e... we've got a ton of pics some really good and lots of not so great ones, and i've got a partial video of when trent was talking during the "malfunctions" at echoplex - only partial video because i didn't hit record right away and then my memory card was full... but I got about 1:30 of it, so if i can figure out what to do with it, I'll post it along with my pics. but not tonight, i'm too tired...

edit: i'm sending the vid to megaupload and i'll add the link when it's done, but will sort out the pics tomorrow... or later today depending on how you look at it... :P

I had a wicked time. I was on the lookout for Nscafe, since he gave me a wicked AIR sticker at the Year Zero launch party, but I couldn't spot him in the crowd. The show was fantastic, and the crowd was well behaved save for that one guy that tried to elbow his way through the crowd, got shoved by a little girl, then turned around to take photos of the "culprits." I hope he digs my posing instead!

All in all, good times were had.

I was super-stoked to see this, I spent like $150 on merch. I was way the fuck back in 215, so I don't know if it was just me but Robin's guitar needed to get turned WAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaay the fuck up. I took my cousin with me to this one, it was her first concert. I think we ruined her, she was totally into it at the end.

Too much to cover, to the cliff notes!
- Felt like 'The Slip' songs at the beginning were pretty much disposable; Discipline had me stoked so much and then it was kinda meh when they actually played it. The energy definitely built up the longer they played though.
- It was funny to watch that damn LCD ad banner that goes around the 'dome after CC was done playing. Every time the colours dimmed to black or red people started cheering because they thought that the show was starting and the lights were going down.
- Crystal Castles was a huge disappointment for me; their music is fantastic but I don't know if their singer isn't used to a stadium or what but she needs to not do whatever it is she did tonight.
- MEET YOUR FUCKING MASTER. I freaked the fuck out. Unbelievable.
- I had no idea Survivalism was such a badass song, but live it gets fucking ANGRY. Terrible Lie and Head Like A Hole too- holy hell.
- The new intro for Only is awesome.
- The Hand That Feeds got played 4 reelz? And it wasn't because somebody interrupted Hurt? I wish that they had remembered that Robin was in the band though, because I couldn't hear any guitar.
- The false start on Echoplex was amusing, Trent was pretty honest about it. That whole banter thing he did was nice, he didn't talk enough at this one. Man, that improv shit Josh was doing on the screen was so cool.
- GOD GIVEN NO FUCKING WAY. I was yelling the lyrics the whole time, I screamed GOD GIVEN at the chorus and sounded like a complete tool. The guitar solo at the end was a bit weird- cool- but I wasn't sure what to make of it.
- Getting Smaller... has this been played live ever before? I can't remember. Either way, I was freaking like an ADD kid without his ritalin at this point I was so wound up.
- I just about hit the guys in my section, they were drunk, high, grinding to nearly every song, and they made a lot of noise during Hurt.-
- In This Twilight almost made me cry. It's the perfect closer to this tour.
- Great Destroyer and The Warning needed to be so much louder from where I was sitting, kinda made the songs dull.
- The only song I missed was Big Comedown, I wanted to see the cool lights for that one.

Great show, worth every penny, every hour of driving, and the two years I waited to see it.

EDIT: (for clarity)
- There were girls grinding in the section too, they just shut up and enjoyed it though. The guys were being... well... guys.
- Light show was as impressive as we had been lead to believe.
- Trent, if you want to move to Canada to avoid Bush, do it. We're like the sexy sister of America. Bigger boobs, less fat, and we wash our ass.
- I apologize for my grammar and spelling and overuse of adjectives like 'cool', 'awesome', 'stoked', etc. I'm really hyper and tired at the same time.

ONE THING THAT WAS MISSING FROM THE CALGARY SHOW!

.... The swinging lights that hand in between the 2 drop down screens, they didn't use them at all! Kinda sucked, but at least I got to see that one in Edmonton the night before.

Other than that the set differences were nice for those of us who went to both shows and the crowd was better in Calgary than in Edmonton.

Got great presale NIN.com seats for Edmonton and GA Floor tix for Calgary, was center stage right on the bar.... so awesome!


Visuals are NIN's best, line up is NIN's best and this is such a great tour.... just mind blowing.

Just absolutely incredible. We were spoiled last night. The section I was in was rowdy all night.

Trent quote during Echoplex:

"If one thing fucks up we can keep going, but if SIX things fuck up, we have to stop."

(on another note, what's up Exploding Plastic?)

Once the boot comes out, I'll be all over it. Can't wait to relive this!

That is all for now, I need sleep...a three hour drive back to Medicine Hat at 1 am will do that to you.

EDIT: Crystal Castles: Very solid musically, but the singer needs to sing...not yell/scream for the entire song...the vocoded vocals track was the only song that she didn't ruin.

I think I would have preferred seat 14... that way I could have leaned a bit and steadied myself better.

Unbelievable show! I couldn't believe how many tracks they played, and of course they were all solid. The encore was longer than I thought it would be, and I was really suprised that they played Getting Smaller and In This Twilight, which were both awesome picks. I bought tons of merch and I already can't wait for them to come back. The visuals were everything I thought they would be, tho I was disapointed by the lack of those hanging light things that I've seen in photos from other shows.

Tons of people smoking pot in my section, which I didn't really mind, it's not like it affected my enjoyment of the show in any way. Just ignored them.

Oh yea, and CC was terrible. For those saying that the music was tight, well duh, most of it sounded sequenced. And could her voice be any more annoying? I couldn't even tell if the songs had lyrics, literally everything that came out of her mouth just sounded like shrill screaching. Last time I saw NIN they had Queens of the Stone Age as their opening act, CC aren't fit to lick their boots.

There was no pushing, not as many screaming fans. Just people chilling out watching the show. Where in Calgary, I was in the exact same spot, and all the fans were rocking out really hard. It seemed like Trent was feeding off of that too, because he was bouncing around a lot more this time.

That's how it seemed to me anyway!

I was one of the people crushed in behind you and it was just Jocks pushing. No moshing. And it sucked.
Edmonton had a small pit going that was about 30x more fun then just shit heads pushing the rail.

So in other words both freaking amazing shows right?

I was very surprised with the show as a whole. For one reason or another, I was kind of dreading going to it. It blew all the other concerts I have seen out of the water (that's not that many... seen NIN 5 times now though). I can't even begin to describe how incredibly fucking cool the stage show was. I wish I was following them around Canada again.

I just wanna say big ups to Trent for the whole stop and restart of Echoplex. Guaranteed most wouldn't know the difference if he hadn't stopped but like he said, he wasn't going to bullshit us. Thats a true artist there, one that truly cares about his fans, and the experience we all get from seeing NIN live. Truly an incredible performance.

We were a couple rows above you. It was ag reat fucking show, lots of great songs played, though I was slightly miffed at the lack of Fragile. Oh well. I figured they would have done La Mer/Into the Void.

I should mention, the thing they did where they 'erased' the screen using the flashlight... fucking cool.

The only thing I was bummed out to NOT see was the dangling lights they used in Edmonton, those were the coolest part of the show. They are long dangling thin lights that hang in between the two drop down screens and they can be moved or bumped into as the band rocks out, like 6ft long glow sticks almost, 30 of them or so hanging there moving as the band goes crazy.....


But make no mistake, the set differences were nice and the Calgary show had such great energy.

glad i went. managed to meet some fellow enthusiasts who were ultra cool and thus far, that means that everyone to date that i have met at nin shows has been awesome. no douche's yet :)

Fucking amazing concert.. I wish I had the time to go to a few more.. that show makes me speechless.. everything about that concert was amazing except for the bitch who decided she was more important then everyone and push directly in front of me and when i put her where she she should have been complained and bitched the whole time.. even her b/f apologized haha.. stupid bitch.. but amazing concert!

I forgot to mention one thing, the people I talked to in lines for merch and snacks were kickass nice at this show, much better than anyone I've met at any other concerts. I was in line for a coke and I turned to my cousin (like the melodramatic asshole I am) and said 'This is basically the BEST day of my life'. The guy one line over said something like 'Isn't it though? Enjoy it!' and then he wished me a good show. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy, the people were awesome.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who found it a bit quiet. I wasn't sure because I could only hear out of my left ear last night because the other got plugged when I was putting in ear plugs at work on Saturday. Just in time for the fucking concert that happens. That really pissed me off. AND I was sitting in 118, so that didn't help.

I also thought the soundguy was mixing Robin's guitar a little quiet at times (I'm a sound tech, for 8 years, so I was paying special attention to the mix). Overall though the mix was really good. I love that about NIN concerts, Trent is such a perfectionist you know it's going to have good sound, even in a venue like the Saddledome.

Easily the best light/video/multimedia show I've ever seen.

-I loved the part with the static on all 3 LED screens, then they make the front one transparent in spots to show Trent. And then during the chorus how it "jumped" from the floor to the ceiling and back so it looked like they were walking in a knee-high field of static.
-Loved the Survivalism video. Did they do that for the Year Zero tour as well? That was so cleaver.
-Loved the abstract single color parts with Great Destroyer, etc. where they were standing in front of a pure red or white wall. Really epic feeling.


Went to the concert alone, that sucked. Even though I know a lot of my friends were there, I didn't see any of them.

Setlist at first was a bit The Slip-heavy. I really appreciate what Trent did with that album with it being a gift to fans, but it's just not one of my favorites, coming off of something so amazing like Year Zero.

After, though, I thought he did an excellent job of balancing material off of every album. Obviously everyone is going to have different favorite Ghosts tracks, but I would have been ecstatic if they'd played either 16 or 32. But neither of those fit very well with the instrumentation they were using (xylophones, etc.) for that part.

So despite some really aggravating setbacks early on which had nothing to do with the concert itself, I still managed to really enjoy myself.

Calgary's was only slightly better than Edmonton in my opinion, but probably just because more of my favorites were played. Only downside is they didn't use the dangling lights during The Big Come Down. The crowd was better, too. I was on the rail for both shows.

Also I noticed Trent looking down at something during the last few songs, every couple verses. I don't want to be the "trent forgot his lyrics" guy, but what was he doing there?

I noticed him looking down too! and you can see it in one of the videos I posted (God Given). And I saw one of the sheets during the Edmonton show, and it definitely looked like lyrics.

Given how many songs he's recorded the past couple years, it probably helps to have a sheet as a reminder, just in case. Because that's a LOT of songs to remember. Even I've forgotten some of them, since it's not in heavy rotation for me anymore.

I am also glad Trent decided to start Echoplex over again. It went off nearly perfect in the edmonton show (a few "clicks" didn't register, but nothing major). People around me were kinda like "wtf" during the whole ordeal, so I am glad they were able to see what it was supposed to look like.

I found that there were more assholes in the pit in Edmonton (ie. throwing elbows etc...not all of them, but a few real douchebags that made it harder to really get engrossed in the show in parts), whereas in Calgary it wasn't as bad. Except for one dude that was too far gone to be helped that we finally had pulled out (you don't sit down in the pit, man), and one little fat kid that wouldn't calm down.

All in all, great shows, and well worth the trip out from Vancouver!

I think there is a larger than normal accumulation of emo kids in Edmonton, as well. I hardly noticed any in the Calgary crowd. Edmonton is chock full of them.

There were actually 3 tiny screens at the foot of Trent, Justin and Robin. They just had the lyrics on it. We were right in front of one on the floor during the Edmonton show and it was funny because it was turned around, the other way towards the crowd and when the lights went out a techie scrambled over to turn it towards Trent.

I've been the lead vocalist in various bands for about 12 years, and I can easily sympathize..... I mean with such a huge catalog of material to sing through, remembering every single word.... would be extremely tough. Especially at the start of a new tour!

That was such a good show, although the lack of Fragile songs really bummed me out, I thought the Wretched was coming after the Frail, and that let me down, and after hearing the Big Come Down being played, I could only hope it would be played, but that was also shot down. My only real complaint was the lack of Fragile songs, other than that, amazing show, one of the best concerts I have ever been too.

Does anyone know what was up with security dragging out those 3 people? This one bigger guy was literally dragged out of the pit and out of the venue, but I have no clue why? Anyone?

I know exactly why the big guy was dragged out. For most of the show, he was falling all over the place in the pit, just bouncing from one person to the next. Then at one point, during one of the slower moments, he kept pushing me, falling over on me, just about knocking my wife and I over several times. Really got annoying.

Then he decided to lie down on the floor to smoke a cigarette, looked like he had passed out. Security just about dragged him out then and there, dude was so far gone on what one person believed was meth.

two songs later, he comes charging through the pack with a couple of girls that claimed they wanted out, then got closer to the front and stopped trying to get out...they very shortly found themselves shuffled back again. Anyway, the dude started getting uppity, and just shoving people etc, and then kind of half dropping to the floor. Security got tired of the bullshit so they reached in for him, and a few of us grabbed his legs to help them drag his worthless carcass out of the way.

I never mind the press in the pit, but I have absolutely no patience for anyone that is inconsiderate of others in there. By all means, have fun, but we're all in this thing together, and if you don't understand that, then you deserve whatever the fuck you get. Same goes for a couple of other (young) assholes...but that's another story, suffice it to say that Pudgy got what was coming to him courtesy of a very small, angry gal.

Closer. I got confused too, he sung "You Let Me Desecrate You" on the 2nd line of the first verse and on the 4th line. It was generally out of order.

I've been to many shows where the boot didn't come out for a long time. Alot of the good bootleggers won't release the goods to the public but will instead trade other tapers. Eventually it will surface but that can take awhile sometimes.

I know I'm a little late to this party, but I just got back from this show/vacation tonight and holy shit. Very pleased to see those Year Zero tracks in there, sad not to hear more fragile stuff (The Big Come Down?) but all in all I was amazed with the set. Kinda sad though how alot of people on the floor were screaming at them and had no idea what was going on during the Ghosts tracks, but I enjoyed them. Couldn't have been more surprised to hear Meet Your Master/God Given/Getting Smaller in there, I got a ton of videos too...unfortunate thing is that they are 2.0 megapixel cell vids, so its not that great.

Nah my friend was wearing the 'bureau of morality' shirt he snagged before the show, and that doesn't really sound like him anyway. Yeah some fat guy was fucking on a couple different things and for part of the show he was right behind me, fucking annoying as hell.
