NOTE: Any reference to losing one's head in this thread would be incredibly insensitive to current Winnipeg events and totally be BLAMMO!! worthy. That is all.

Better than the first show at the MTS. Actually BEST CONCERT EVER!!!!!
Trent: "If i could just make an observation about Canada for one sec. You guys smoke a lot of pot. Every night theres just clouds of it coming up stage."
Master of the Ninth Arch
Great show! Finally got to see Down In It live! Finck Rocks.

I'm off to see them again in Minneapolis tomorrow!
I was fucking stoked they played 'Down In It.'
Did Crystal Castles' set get cut short? Seemed like they were having technical issues then they just walked off stage. I was kind of disappointed 'cause I wanted to hear more from them.

And lol when Trent forgot the lyrics to.. Good Soldier I think? "Hey, I'm only human"...
I cant believe he said we are a bunch of pot smokers! LOL - I know I sure had a few puffs!

But WOW ... what a fucking wicked show!

If only the show could have been 3 hours and ten, instead of 2 and 10!

HEY .... ppl .... post some pics and vids already!!!!!!
Master of the Ninth Arch
Yeah. I saw a schedule sheet that one of the security guys had. It had Crystal Castles starting at 7:40 but they didn't get on until 7:50. Then they left at 7:10 or so, which was when they were scheduled to leave. They only got like 4 songs in. It was too bad. I'd like to have heard more.

Got there way too early for Winnipeg. But met some really cool people in the process. Nice to meet you all near the front of the pre-sale line :)

Off to bed (and hurting like hell) then drivin' to minneapolis. i'm sure ill see some of you there.

btw, awesome show. pretty epic too. despite some world-class a-holes 2nd or 3rd from the front, eveyrone was decent and into it.
I had to surrender my ticket since I got in a Car accident, don't have the money for a trip up there now :< I would have hitchhiked there and back if I had known they were going to play Down in it!!!!

does anyone have the full set list?
" duh da da duh da da da, I just fucked up the start of the song". oh noes! :)
Master of the Ninth Arch
All the pot smoking has given us horrible memories. Sorry :(

It was similar to the others so far. New songs include Down In It, The Greater Good and God Given.
Bricklayer
It was wonderful, but sort sort of weird. I saw him in 05 and in 06 in TO. He doesn't usually chatter, and he seemed happy enough, not bitchy, and he thanked the crew and introduced the band. Am I on crack or is that totally out of character for him? Must of been the hotboxing on stage from the clouds of lovely pot smokeAnyway, i'm eagerly awaiting the tech talk and setlist. Thanks all and goodnight

Oh yeah, I saw a lot of cell phones sp let's see some footage.
Master of the Ninth Arch
He's been a lot more talkative since he's gotten sober, that's for sure!

Thanking the crew is new too. Didn't see that in '05

postin from psp pardon shorthand. fuckawesome show. gr8 crew in presale line. who was there? i was the girl in w_t t w/ brown hair/glasses hangin with guy in indiana pwns t. hi5 to the guy w/ mohawk who kept the line in check. also fuckin down in it haha
Bricklayer
i.. *may* have taken a video or two from the rail, near center. and they *may* have turned out pretty good. and some of it might be the out of character chatter!

also, Alice from crystal castles needs to be my wife. i think i truly love her, wow.

did anyone else see where his mic tech fucked up,and trent swore at him, throwing the mic stand down and kicking some light fixture offstage in retaliation?
not related to when he literally threw his keyboardthingy offstage almost hitting the front row and the mic tech.
dude, that was insane! my discipline shirt got some weird staining on it from the front bar tho, yeah thats right, was at the back of the presale line but somehow managed to get up front (THANKS RANDOM GUY MIKE)

backed away around Hurt tho when this crazy bitch was digging her nails into my arm, to which I responded with "Take your nails out of my fucking arm, bitch" to which she responded "I'm gonna get my boyfriend to fucking beat the shit out of you". *Her boyfriend comes* *He does nothing*

lol. Did that really happen? That must've been funny. I have never remembered him forgetting any lyrics in the past tours.
Yeah he was like "na na na na I just fucked up this part of the song" or something
Master of Achievement
any video of it?

yes, but i see lack of the great destroyer. TGD>TV.

Most of my NIN pictures and videos, crappy camera phone style. If anyone wonders why I have so many shots that look the same, I used a 30 shot rapid succession just to try it out on my phone. Videos are okay, sound is pretty bad. I have a few full songs too.

Funniest part is that I had presale seats, but went to line up anyway. When in line, they gave everyone wrist bands, so I ended up rocking out on the floor.

Works for me.
in regards to the setlist, i had a friend make me text her as each song played so i'm pretty sure this is the whole set, in correct order, save for the ghost songs because i don't know them that well

1,000,000
letting you
discipline
march of the pigs
head down
the frail
closer
gave up
the warning
vessel
~3 ghosts songs
piggy
the greater good
pinion
wish
terrible lie
survivalism
the big come down
~ghosts
only
down in it
the hand that feeds
head like a hole

encore:
echoplex
god given
the good soldier
hurt
in this twilight

amazing show, by the way. saw them last time they were here and they were ten times the band they were then. i hope they come back soon!

Great show last night.

Im pretty sure I heard Great Destroyer in there but it hasnt shown on either of the two setlists posted. For sure one of the Ghosts songs was 6 (with trent on zxylophone). I also noticed that the band sort of screwed up the ending of Hurt (the last three or four chords).

I cant remember what song it was but they had a black screen in front of the stage and someone came to the front and waved his hand around the screen and "erased" the blackness showing the band behind to start the song. Also, the intro to Echoplex with Trent creating the beat by pushing the buttons on the screen was incredible.

Best Quotes:

"Can I just make an observation about Canada? No, its not bad (or something like that). You all smoke alot of pot. There is just waves of smoke coming on to the stage."

(at the beginning of a botched song) "I...I...I...I...totally fucked up the beginning of this song....Im only human...."
Bricklayer
I think I got some decent shots of the band last night and I will post them later when I can sneak out of work.

I really enjoyed the set of songs from Wish to Head Like a Hole, really kept the energy level up.

From what I gathered from a friend who worked security for last night's show, Crystal Castles had the plug pulled because they ran over time and the singer was high.

Speaking of the singer, she totally sat on my face when she got down onto the floor.
Bricklayer
Sweet show, i went nuts for Down in it and BROKE MY NOSE.

Small but great crowd, no real dickheads, if people fell they got picked up but the pit was still rough, and no one were yelling stupid shit during quite songs. The Ghost's songs in the middle of the set were the highlight u have to see and hear it to believe it.

Trent fucked up the start of "The Good Soldier" and called himself on it.

This show was way better than the With Teeth show I saw back in 2005. No disappointments.

On a side note there didn't seem to have extra security procedure's for my pre-sale ticket, they just scanned it and I went in, I only had to show ID at the Will call window, not at the not so special entrance cause anyone could get in there.
Master of the Ninth Arch
I'd been three people back from front and center. It was great for the first little while, but once NIN got on, I had to get out of there :( Too squished. But otherwise, from what I could see at the back of the crowd, amazing show.
Master of the Ninth Arch
I'm still deaf from last night. Mesmerizing light show. I've never seen anything even close to that before at a concert. I really wish they had played more songs from The Fragile. I had a great time regardless.

As for Crystal Castles they got on late. I heard the security say they were supposed to be on at 7:40 to 8:10. So they played for only 20mins if that. Ten of which I was in line for a drink. They were starting up another song when they were cut off and the singer stormed off.
Yeah I was noticing that all the glitchiness that would usually take place during the 2nd half of TGD was added in to Vessel so that was cool that we still got that.
Master Traveler
Working on uploading video and pics. Will post them in the morning. I had a great spot on the rail, right in front of Alessandro and Justin.

(Trent: "If i could just make an observation about Canada for one sec. You guys smoke a lot of pot. Every night theres just clouds of it coming up stage."

I know he tried it for the first time when he was 13 with his dad and didn't like it but perhaps that is why he fucked up. (And What what in da butt when Trent forgot the lyrics to.. Good Soldier I think? "Hey, I'm only human"...) which was actually kind of nice. Something a little different that the the technically perfect shows I've seen before where he didn't really interact with the crowd and he could have been giving a concert anywhere.

(did anyone else see where his mic tech fucked up,and trent swore at him, throwing the mic stand down and kicking some light fixture offstage in retaliation?
not related to when he literally threw his keyboardthingy offstage almost hitting the front row and the mic tech.)
Oh there's the Trent I know and love. I seemed to have missed that I thought now that he'd cleaned up he'd be on an even keel. I guess it's a good thing he gave up on the antidepressants! Reminds me of when he supposedly fired the sound or light guy from the stage. Apparently just went psycho from the stage on his mic at the poor guy.

(On a side note there didn't seem to have extra security procedure's for my pre-sale ticket, they just scanned it and I went in, I only had to show ID at the Will call window, not at the not so special entrance cause anyone could get in there.)I asked about that and the box office woman said security was having a hard time with the 2nd name check so they never did it.

I really liked the way they did hurt this time, although I didn't notice the fuck up. The other thing that I liked was Robin Fink. There was one song on the live album where there were killer vocals and I couldn't figure out where they came from, but it was Robin Fink, cause he did them live. I love his voice. The whole show reminded me of the live album. W_T was different, and Trent might have said Aaron North peed on Robin Fink's shoes as a guitarist, but it was great. I feel sort of bad saying this, but things were a tad more exciting before TR got his shit together. Good for him though, I'm still working at it.

Now I'm off to check out the pics etc

I here ya man - seems like the energy level just isnt the way it used to be! But yet again - maybe I wasn't in one piece neither! LOL

Lets see some of your photos/vids (if you gots)

And for the record - I to was brutually dissapointed with the early entrance access ... we were told to go to the south east entrance, then to the stair way, then they just let everyone in at the same time! BRUTUAL! Good thing for me last time they toured I got to meet Trent at a meet and greet in Detroit and as for the Winnipeg show - I found an NIN AFTER SHOW pass on the floor and (basically a long story short) managed to "OUT LUCK" (about 100 ppl were given after show passes) and only 8 ppl got to drink and party with the band (7 chicks and myself) in a special designated room! It Kicked MAJOR ASS!!!!! LIFE LONG MEMORIES!!!!!!!! hahaha - so I guess the excitment level after those 2 shows AND going to Coachella to see them kinda put my excitment level to EXTREME HIGHS!!!!

Yeah they jerked us around a bit but we did get in before everyone else.
The show was beyond amazing. There were a couple of loud idiots in front of me but once Trent appeared on stage, all was forgiven.
The light show was unreal. This was the best concert I have ever been to.

i added some of the videos i took to my flickr page if anyone wants to have a quick look.

there also is a clip with the infamous "every night, waves of pot smoke hit the stage" speech!

let me know what you think after!
