You know what to do. And if you didn't go to the show, it isn't worth the risk of getting BLAMMOed!

Amazing show! They came out on fire. Trent and Robin were throwing down mike stands like the old days. Trent did not speak till the almost the very end. He said he was "having one of those days" where everything is shitty or something like that but these 2 hours have been great.

I don't know the set-list but the new song we got for this tour was Love is not Enough. Also got Reptile, The Great Destroyer and God Given.

Just got home after the show @ Scott Trade -- there's not much I can say that can convey the level of awesome at this show!

I was dead center stage about 9 rows back for this one, and it blew my mind. 6 song encore. Trent telling a *psyched* crowd that his entire day was shit but the last two hours he spent performing totally made up for it.

Favorite moments for me were God Given (Totally amazing performed live, I was not prepared for it) Only (For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen the effects he used for it), The Big Come Down (Always one of my favorite live ones) -- Me I'm Not performed in the same manner as the minimal setup touring that I didn't get to see after Year Zero was released! (That blew my fucking mind!) Reptile and Piggy! I don't think I need to say any more about how happy I was to hear those.

The crowd was actually *great* for St. Louis (I've been to some previous St. Louis shows where the crowd generally is known to not be a very good one) -- like 95% of the people in the stands remained standing pretty much from beginning to end -- me and my girlfriend met a fellow fan who was at the show alone and proved to be great company and rather generous with some herbal matters xD For fucks sake, most of the crowd was standing through all the Ghosts material, and for some reason that suprised me.

The set-list was amazing. The first set list poster did miss Head Like a Hole and Pinion, but I think I can help clean this up and get it right:

Setlist - Scott Trade Center, St. Louis, MO 8/20/2008

999,999
1,000,000
Letting You
Discipline
March of the Pigs
Head Down
The Frail
The Wretched

- IN FRONT OF THE SCREENS -

Me I'm Not

Ghosts 17
Ghosts 28
Ghosts 19
Ghosts ??
Piggy

Greater Good
Pinion
Wish
Terrible Lie
Survivalism
The Big Come Down
Ghosts 31
Only
Head Like A Hole

My first NIN concert, and first concert alltogether.

I had a lot of fun, and really enjoyed it. But one thing threw me off...

During Survivalism there were a bunch of cameras up on the screen, and the one on top, second from the right, had... two men (I think.) having sex. Can someone explain that to me?

I also learned what marijuana smells like. =D

McGrew, I saw you! Your son was rocking out on your shoulders during Only!

Sure! If you watch the music video for Survivalism -- like most of Year Zero it's themed to give the idea of a scary possible future government that likes to spy on it's people in order to catch them in immoral acts. Notice how some of the video screens were of the crowd itself, live? Pretty cool, eh?

Hey, I didn't even bring any pot to this one, but a nice fan took care of a few of us about 9 rows back :P

Glad you enjoyed yourself!

Thanks man. I did notice that some of it was live footage, like Trent and the DJ kid in back who was rocking out the whole time. I was beginning to wonder if they actually had a camera in the bathroom, but I thought about it and how they'd get in a huge legal mess, and how much Trent hates that, let alone the damn record companies.

I got about 6-7 wafts of it. Didn't get high. Didn't feel funny, and I'm hoping that this won't show up on any drug tests.

No way in heck. A single exposure to second hand smoke in a complete and total non-smoker is simply just not even close to enough of the material that is tested for in a common urine based drug test.

Hair and urine tests screen for marijuana metabolites. If you're not inhaling enough to get high, you're not metabolizing enough of the stuff for it to be detectable. You have *nothing* to worry about.

I wouldn't hang out for hours in an unventilated room with the Competition Bong Hit Team, but stopping to chat with a couple of guys burning a fatty isn't going to cause a positive drug test.

Oh and McGrew - totally saw you and the son rocking out to Only, and it made me smile! :)

Just got back home about maybe ten minutes ago and the show was incredible. I think it was probably a better show than the fall With Teeth tour that came to St. Louis in 2005. The band sounded incredible as always and I'm so glad Robin is back in the band, I'm sorry but after seeing how Robin carries himself on stage...he pissed all over Aaron's shoes that night. A highlight for me is Robin's solo during Wish...Aaron fucked it up by making it too bluesy for my tastes and Robin brought a very Fragility feel to the show.

Trent sounded great and his voice actually held up very well, I'm guessing his throat must be feeling much better. He said something about "today being one of those days where the worlds against you and nothing seems to be going right. Well, at least this has been the best two hours" or something like that. It was actually pretty sold out and the arena looked very full which kind of surprised me for some reason, I wasn't expecting it to be as crowded as it was.

We sat in the plaza level section 104 and they were amazing seats..

The St. Louis crowd was on fire tonight. From where I sat I could everyone getting into it and the pit in full force. As far as the merchandise goes, I have been drooling over the track jacket ever since I saw someone take a picture of it on here and I found out it was fucking 85 (!!!) dollars. My birthday is on Friday so my girlfriend put in forty bucks and I put it forty five. Good stuff.

(+)
-THE FUCKING LIGHT SHOW! I can't believe how much Trent has put into this. (By the way..I'm surprised no one mentioned the sex part in the Survivalism screen...was that two guys?)

-The Great Destroyer was a welcome surprise as was the Big Come Down too.

-Opening with 1,000,000 is such a good idea as I have never been more excited in my entire life when that starting playing.

-If Trent were to do a smaller venue show with Ghosts material, that would be fine with me because it translates VERY well live and the Ghosts songs might have actually been my favorite part of the night.

(-)
-Me, I'm Not was played. The visuals were cool, so I'll cut it some slack..but this is the worst NIN song in my opinion but I still kinda enjoyed it.

-More variations in the set list...damn you Europe for getting all the rare songs.

-That fat guy who sat next to my girlfriend and pretty much almost took two seats. Screw you fattie.

But besides those itty bitty little negative things I loved it, loved it, loved it.

I registered here after the show...so hi everyone :)

I must say...I was blown away. I felt that this show was much better than the 2005 appearance. Overall, this is one of the best concerts I've been to. I feel spoiled.

The only thing I wish was....I wish I was on the floor!!! Maybe next time.

I really hope a recording of this show surfaces somewhere on the net. It's nice having that type of stuff :)

All my pictures are there and I think I got some great ones.

Have a few videos. Will up one tonight on youtube and the rest I'm throwing together after the tusla and mizzou shows.

Glad repeated got a ride.

Other than that the show was great. Good crowd. You could tell Trent was happy WAY before he ever said anything about it. Him and Rob were getting into it on the guitars.

I love the above photo. That's great. I have some of my own, but I'm going to work on them tomorrow and upload them.

Tonight's highlights for me:
March of the Pigs! (the song is 14-years-old and still eats my face)
Robin's guitar tone, especially during The Wretched.
The screens. Everything about them. Holy crap they were fantastic.
The better and even more tighter The Big Comedown
The Great Destroyer
Josh's double bass during Survivalism and kick ass breakdown during Terrible Lie

Extra special thanks goes to the woman in the dress who kept crowd surfing. I must say you have quite a bottom shelf and I appreciate your exhibitionism.

I really hope somebody is taping this because it's the best NIN show I've seen (#5 overall) and it needs to be documented in some fashion. Personally I would love a double DVD with #1 being a full concert and #2 being a "Closure" style documentary. Maybe even a making of the set or ideas behind Lights Over North America. This seriously smoked and I appreciate the planning and attention to detail.

I loved the Pre-Sale will call window and our seats were fabulous. I love how this was set up and I can't wait to use the presale when NIN comes to Columbia.

Last, but not least, thanks for helping me ring in my 30th year. Best Birthday Ever.
this show was awesome, although a few jerks up front in the pit were bitching about "me" pushing them. (the whole front of the pit was swaying around a lot, SO not my fault) aside from those hippies that needed to go back to their panic concert, It was simply fabulous! Almost better than the with teeth tour at the same venue, i would say. Being up close was cool (pretty close to the barricade) the variety the acoustic bits brought to the set was beautiful. Piggy played with the upright cello or bass (it was hard for me to tell, i do know it was not a DOUBLE bass) was quite a treat. I wish I could have seen the young boy there, my son is getting into nails (he likes terrible lie & capital G) and I would like to take him to see a show some day.

Noticed 2 youtube vids up already from this concert. Any primo footage would be awesome.

i was the chick on the rail, stage right, who got made fun of by security because i was so obviously from South County... hehe.

the show was incredible. i really don't know where to begin... i was in awe most of the time over the lighting. the set list was, IMHO, flawless. i really was not expecting Love is Not Enough, and it took me a second to realize what they were playing. and i loved the version of Closer they did (anyone got the video of that, btw?)

i might write more later... gotta get up and go to work now :(

EDIT: i want to say hi to...

Wow man, last night was INSANE. I came with my friend Zack and I just wanted to tell you that St. Louis was AWESOME last night. I was right smack in the middle about 3 rows of people back from the very front. Let me tell you, this concert kicked some serious ass. Trent defiantly outdid his 2005 performance of With_Teeth. I'll post some videos later of some of the cool shit that happened.

But wow, I'm still in awe of Trent's amazingness.
(PS) Does anyone remember that girl with the black hair that kept getting kicked out and was pissing everyone off? I heard she finally got kicked out halfway through the show thank god.

THANK YOU NINE INCH NAILS.

That actually made the other times I had seen them look a little amateurish. I've gradually been getting my gf into NIN and this was her first time seeing them... we both agreed that it was the best show we had ever seen. Great setlist, great crowd, GREAT sound and visuals... holy shit. I've never seen anything like the Ghosts set, simply incredible.

I started to write what my highlights were but honestly i can't fault the setlist and loved every second...

and THANK YOU to whoever took that pic during the great destroyer, awesome shot!

I made the incredible mistake of buying the litho-before the show started. Surprisingly, it didn't get ruined(despite how many people seemed hellbent on crushing it)because I rolled it up and shoved it in my pants waistband.
Master of the Ninth Arch
Hubby and I were on the floor about 10 or so back from the rail. Awesome group - had a blast with the sweet girl that came from Germany, buddies from the past, the fun couple with the cloves, the guy with the dreds with the killer weed..I loved the group we were with!! Set list was great, the lights were amazing - Trent sounded great!! We are almost 40, and I have to admit it, we were nervous about being pummeled on the floor, but the only issue we had was this huge guy (we called him Robert 'Bob' Paulson) tried to push us around but we handled that..too funny. We stayed at the Sheraton, which was great because we were drunk as skunks by the end - spent almost 200$ on beer!
I had a blast - my first show was early 90's and it was rougher, but this was amazing on a different scale.
Bricklayer
I dont post here often, Im a stalker. :)

I was about three rows back from the front. Ive seen NIN many, many times and I dont even know how to describe what I saw last night. It was the most amazing collaboration of technology, lights, music and showmanship Ive ever seen and has convinced me to make the drive to Columbia to see it again. Can you get an Oscar for live shows? I mean, jesus christ, it was that good.
Bricklayer
Amazing show. I saw NIN in 2005 in the same arena and they blew me away this time even more than the WT tour.

Fuck the whore with the fake black hair. She got punched in the face and got pulled out...that shut her fucking ass up. If anyone was wondering why the front was randomly applausing in the middle of one of the ghosts tracks it was because we were happy she got pulled out, she was ruining the show for everyone. She tried to "friend" her way up front in the line before we even got in...we had to get security to move her back...she cut in front of like 100 ppl. Staff handled the situation pretty well though, even gave people free water at the front...a much needed helping hand when water was $5 a glass. AMAZING show...i went off like a firecracker during reptile...and LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH AND ME, IM NOT AND THE WARNING AND THE WRECHED. Its like trent played all the wildcards last night...I cant believe how amazing the visuals were.

Also the bathroom sex scene was fake, it was hetero also.

Btw if anyone was wonderingi was the guy with the red faux hawk that looked like a "smoke stack" and a chicken on the rail. If you were nearby you know what im talking about lol.

PS: A giant fuck you goes to the guy who yelled "whoo you rock robin!" during hurt, this isnt the shaved head dude with the underbite's whoot show spectacular...it was nine inch nails. If he wanted you heckling he'd bring you on stage. Have respect for the band.

something to mention about the fake sex scene during Survivalism...

i was right up on the rail near the crew, and at some point one of the crew got excited and turned to someone else and started pointing at the screen. the second crew member, a girl, then ran off backstage. and a minute later, the sex scene started. i'm thinking the crew was involved.

EDIT: something else to mention...

on a lot of the equipment by the rail, the NIN logo was on there. and JMJ was usually underneath (with the first J backwards).

Long time lurker... first post.

Last night was AMAZING! I saw them here in 05 and at U of I in 06 but this was by far the best NIN concert I have been at... and I would go as far to say that it was the best concert I have ever been at. Everything was awsome about it and I am SOOOOOOOOOOO happy they played Me, I'm not... Love that song.

I was right behind the were the fist fight broke out... section 110. We had tickets for 308 originally (ya, I am a cheap bastard) but getting upgraded seats for free was awsome. Center stage in the lower bowl... couldnt ask for more.
Master of the Ninth Arch
Last night was my first NIN show and I have to say it was nothing short of amazing. The set list was great, Trent sounded like his throat had cleared up, the band was kick ass and the visuals were incredible. I got worried when I noticed Robin's guitar tech had given him the wrong one for Discipline. He played about three notes, stopped playing, Trent looks over, Robin walked quickly back to the rack for the right one and then carries on like nothing happened. If Trent had been having a bad day that couldn't have been a good way to start off the show, but that was the only hitch I noticed and my friend said she didn't even know that it happened.

The people around us were cool but the one girl in front of us had finally gotten enough beer in her to start be annoying. She begin flailing away with "hindu arms" during Me, I'm Not and continued until Terrible Lie, when she left.

I would have loved to heard more Year Zero, especially Vessel, but maybe next show! Lexington here we come....and then maybe Columbia too. Must start saving money!

Oh, yeah. I'm so glad a Place to Bury Strangers won't be at my next show. That 10 minute strobe light festival began to give me a headache! Ah!!!

Edit: one more thing....thanks to all you kind folks for sharing your photos! And another, it was so nice of Robin to throw out unopened bottles of water to the fans on his side. It was getting damn hot in that place!

Thank you for the amazing show Trent.
I caught the tambourine which I gave to my wife who unfortunately had to miss the show b/c she is pregnant.

Had a great time. The crowd was awesome and the show was incredible.
The show was remarkable. The section of Pinion leading into Wish leading into Terrible Lie was easily the highlight for me. Reptile sounded amazing as did The Big Comedown. I wasn't sure if I was going to like them closing with In This Twilight, but it really sounded great.

I was talking to a friend after the show - this is a totally different Trent, and a totally different show, even compared to the With Teeth tour. I watched the Fragility DVD the other day - night and day difference, but one constant - Robin always has weird hair.

Love Is Not Enough was a really cool surprise, but did anyone else notice Trent not saying a few lines towards the beginning? The song didn't seem as "tight" as the others, and when TR looked over at Robin at one point in the beginning, I thought, "ahhhh crap," as if he were going to stop it and re-start or skip it all together. It definitely wasn't as fluid as the With Teeth tour, but of course, it was the opener then.

Someone already commented on this, but the collection of sound + visuals + technology was fantastic.

Yes. And I'm glad that I didn't lean over to my sister and say, "watch this." After a a few moments I noticed it wasn't going to work. Still cool graphic though, it just made it look silly when TR came in front of the screen w/ a camera in his face.
I haven't posted here in a while, and I am posting this now from my wife's Instinct on the road home to Spfd, MO.
Awesome show. Brilliant from beginning to end. Most of the show's highlights are already listed. I especially liked the end of In This Twilight when each bandmember got his last bow in turn while Trent played through on keyboard.

One great floor highlight for me was when my wife kicked an annoying mosher before another guy put him on the floor hard. Showing up early to a show really lets you get to meet new people. We had a good time in line talking to Derek and the couple frpm Champaigne, and I enjoyed talking to the two guys with me at the front of the presale pickup line.
I have few if any complaints, except for the beer-drinking brunette who tried linecutting before we got to the floor. Was glad to see her ass get pulled away midshow.

Thank you to Starburst Guy and Pixiedust Girl for the in-line treats.

We will definitely be in Columbia, and are still debating doing Tulsa and Columbia back to back.

Last night's show was simply amazing. I saw them in Chicago for Lollapalooza and was blown away, but last night reminded me just how much better an arena show is compared to a festival. They really pulled out all the stops. Me, I'm Not, The Great Destroyer, God Given, Love Is Not Enough, fucking Reptile... I was incredibly happy. I was worried the Ghosts set might be a little boring for the crowd, but they seemed pretty into it. And mcgrew, that is awesome you brought your son to the show. I'll be uploading photos soon to share with everyone.
I was pretty amazed too when I got this shot. I didn't notice it when I was watching the breakdown until I snapped the photo and looked at what I got. Score one for me. :)

Amazing show, one of my favorites. Light show was great and the setlist was amazing. I was on the floor in the middle. I hope I will be able to go to Columbia because I want to see this show again.

This was really the greatest 3-4 hours of my life. By the end of the night I could barely stand and my voice was gone. The 40 minute wait for the metro was dumb :|

definitely a great show
and my first concert! (Universally, not just nin)

Shhh. I don't think anyone has had the balls to tell Trent yet. Let's hope he doesn't read this, and continues to think it was an awesome show :P
However, he did sing more of the Greater Good than he did at the other concerts I saw (unsure if he ever sang that long at shows before those)

It's possible that he decided to sing for longer because he was aware of the fuckup
But if that's true, why was he still singing into the non-working camera?

--------

I had a great night, photos and videos to come later.
I can't remember exactly how many people were in line when i arrived, but there seemed to be less people there early than at the other shows i saw.

I thought the venue staff were awesome for having everyone sit down.
I had been encouraging people to sit at other shows, but apparently the people there would rather stand for the extra hour.
St Louis people are clever, and event staff actually do their job - as well as having fun.
Does anyone know what all that yelling was about when the presale line hit the floor?

The sound for Strangers was pretty good, but I think they were disappointed by the lack of bubbles.

Speaking of disappointing, i didn't get any pixi-stix :(

NIN were whatever the opposite of disappointing is.
I had been hoping for The Great Destroyer, but I didn't think it would actually happen :) :) :)
No more Slavery breakdown, but that's no big deal.
The Wretched is always a welcome half-surprise. Always the suspense during The Frail as to what will follow.
Ghosts 17+28 are particularly awesome too. The live ghosts tracks really make me appreciate the album more. (And i have to turn the volume waaay up now to enjoy them)
I'll have to go through the other shows threads and find which ghosts tracks have been played edit: 11, counting 19 and 31
- because after hearing them live, the whole CD seems like it would rock out just as much as the songs i've heard.
Hopefully they'll rotate the Ghosts tracks often and end up playing the majority of them.
and those two French girls seeing all the shows will be the lucky one's who get to see them all!
Ghosts 31, despite being a staple, continues to be awesome.

It was nice to have Love Is Not Enough in the encore - I think they should rotate the encore tracks more. One different encore song every night, instead of (usually) the same few rotated - it's not as if there aren't plenty of tracks to choose from! Okay. maybe i'm getting greedy.
That's amazing.
It makes me wonder what else is in there if we could go frame by frame.
I took some video, but i doubt the frame-rate will be high enough to pick out that screen.
At first i thought it was photoshopped!
It seems like that's something that should have been in the meathead video
(I had to double-check to make sure it wasn't)

All my pictures are there and I think I got some great ones.

Have a few videos. Will up one tonight on youtube and the rest I'm throwing together after the tusla and mizzou shows.

Glad repeated got a ride.

Other than that the show was great. Good crowd. You could tell Trent was happy WAY before he ever said anything about it. Him and Rob were getting into it on the guitars.

Such an amazing concert! Drove down from Chicago for this one, and not one regret. Had a nice surprise that my balcony seats from ticketmaster had been upgraded to section 107, perfect view.

As usual, the only draw backs are the people in the crowd that like to scream during hurt, but that's to be expected.

Wretched and Reptile made my night!

Thank you for coming to Saint Louis again!!!

The show was amazing! I have not seen anything like it ever. The Greater Good just floored me.
Trent has such a huge stage presence and he looked real good, everyone looked great!
I was in the 4th row of the pit right in front of Robin until March started then I was pushed/shoved/moshed to the 3rd no worries there!
Robin kept throwing water bottles out to the crowd and I missed but got hit twice with the water and I so needed it cause it was so damn hot down there. The set list was awesome! There is nothing like seeing and hearing them live. The whole stadium sang right all along.

Everyone I met and talked to there was very cool.

*Kudo's to the guy who caught the tambourine, that's sweet you're giving it to your wife*

Meathead was that you on stage checking that microphone?

Ok so..... This was an excellent show. However... Before I go further I must address a "fan" i met during the show. Lisa from Germany. Oh Lisa... Lisa has a husband in Iraq and according to what she yelled to SUCKurity, she was very loyal and faithful and she also had cobwebs in her vagina from lack of sex? amongst other things... Very faithful to describe your vagina to about 200 people you don't know.
My girlfriend... should have killed her. She rubbed her fingers near my asshole and groped my crotch as well. This is not an exaggeration. Most importantly, while SUCKurity was splashing us up front with cold water, I suddenly felt a warm splash... And god bless her... this lovely and polite girl had vomited on me. After the show I learned she also vomited on the other guy next to her. We had a bonding moment after the show. You know... a vulture will vomit on its enemies to defend itself. I feel this is what she did. for the first half of the show she threatened, shoved, and yes... even vomited to try to take our place at front row & center. Finally SUCKurity dragged her sorry ass over the rail and booted her from the venue.
After all of this shit... the show was still OBVIOUSLY fucking amazing. Trent playing a xylophone? The set-list was supreme and I met some really neat people aside from Lisa the German barfer.
Nine Inch Nails was perfection, Robin Finck is 6 string sex as always and the visual element was the best I've seen yet. I wish I had the time to travel to more shows this tour. Unfortunatly, getting old is a bitch... And I'm a sore and grumpy old man with too much time wrapped up in much less enjoyable shit.

#1 Fuck the Scottrade Center and its pathetic security. If you can grab a lit cigarette from a man in the 3rd row, you can remove a bitch barfing on people from the second row without waiting another 20 minutes.
#2 Nine Inch Nails is the best band of our generation. I truly enjoyed myself despite my ranting.

I think you guys were next to me, yeah i already ranted about that fake black haired whore...it was awesome that she got punched in the face. I have to disagree though about the security a little bit, had they known how she acted before we got on the floor they would have treated the situation a little bit differently, she was just pushing buttons they couldn't see or was even aware of when nin was on...I gave them the benefit of the doubt and they ended up following through pretty nicely (even though it took a little longer then I had hoped to take care of the situation). She went with the "For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen iraq husband lolololol" thing and it worked for awhile for her and eventually everything caught up with her.

AMAZING show. I can't believe they played reptile...And the wretched. I'm pretty sure I will never see another show with effects of that caliber ever again (unless it's nin).

I wanted to meet up with her after the show and ask her what it was like having everyone around you hate your drunken, spiderweb vag infested ass.

EDIT: Come to think of it i did feel a random wet spot on the bottom of my right leg a little bit through the show...god fucking damnit...lmfao

Didn't feel funny, and I'm hoping that this won't show up on any drug tests.
yes - the Live footage during Survivalism. That dude rocking out - that was the light guy. He has the coolest job in the world.

well well well.... What really could i say that hasn't already been said? I have been to literally hundreds of shows and this one one may just be the cream of the crop. I dont think i have ever seen a stage production that was nearly as complex as this one. Bravo to Trent and the gang for being willing to push the boundaries of technology to create a performance that is truly worth the price of admission. I had told myself before this tour started that i wouldnt look at or listen to any bootlegs but my willpower gave way after the first show in Seattle. Even though the stage setup and visuals werent a surprise to me it still blew me away to see it in its full scale glory.
The crowd looking to be rather sparse in my opinion seemed to be one of the better ones i have ever been a part of. Everyone appeared to be really into everything the band was throwing at them musically and visually.
Being a NIN veteran it was nice to take some people with me that had never seen them before and give them the full GA Floor experience. We started out about 4 people back from the rail dead center till about halfway through MOTP. It got a little too crazy for them so we made our way back a little further to a less confined area to take in the eye candy. Needless to say they were awestruck.
It made for an incredible night spent with some of my best friends witnessing an amazing, electronic, artistic explosion.

Haha. If you only left with one wet spot you missed out! I didn't encounter the dark haired douchebag until we were sat down on the floor. All I know is that one of the security guys was well aware of her vomiting and he took care to not get it on himself while he poured water on my arm in an attempt to save me from her stomach wretch. Thats why I was pissed at security. After she had sweated off all her makeup she looked like the wicked witch of the west. They had no reason to kiss her ass.

Great fucking show though eh? Can't wait till Columbia. I may wear a Rain Poncho this time.

First timer here, me and my friend had a great time at the concert. Thanks to the guy who helped me find the presale line and for listening to my bitching about the wait. Also, thanks to the girl from Arkansas for keeping me entertained. Concert was everything I expected it to be and more. I will definitely have to buy floor next time because the people around me were stiffs. Great, great, great setlist and great effects. My only regret is that I got way too messed up and I've forgotten a few songs. But great show otherwise.

Great show. I want to give a shout out to the asshat that was really annoying. I am pretty sure his name was Matt. I do wanna say thank you to his friend that kept him from getting attacked by the people around him. So Dude in the white shirt that was checking out my little sister, Thanks! Apparently he had a fascination with Jonathan Davis and kept making reference to it in his drunken stupor. Look Dude, no one care what you fucking think. Korn sucks and has always sucked. So next time shut the fuck up and listen to the music.

Sorry had to rant.

I can't even describe how much fun I had and how amazing the show was. My first NIN concert, and I'm already pumped to see them again! Despite the cluster of douchebags next to me for part of the show that would not stop talking (about moshing, of all things!...), it was fucking fantastic. I knew that the lights and video and all of the visuals would be impressive, but it was just so damn cool to see it live, especially from 3 rows back and center :-).

The setlist was amazing (I'll save you from the redundancy of re-posting it), and I was so psyched when they played Reptile!

I got some awesome shots of the band (mostly Trent ;-)) and the stage, so here you go:

Kaylie (sp?) and Tanya for being friggin' awesome

whoever was passing out Starburst and Pixi Stix...i would have dropped dead without that sugar rush[/quote]

Thanks! Thought the show was absolutely insane! I meandered around the venue the entire night and was freakin' blown away wherever I paused to stick my head in to check it out. I apologise if I cut anyone off while taking pictures.
My only two bitches about the show are the jacked up price of the 1,000,000 jacket (I thought it was supposed to be $65!) and the will-call bullshit. Seriously, they should have had all the stuff (tickets) at the window the night before! When one person has all the freakin' tickets and nobody know where that person is, there are some huge problems just waiting to pop up.
Anyway, fantastic show, good crowd great time. Ophelia, next time just say "hi". If I'm not who you think I am, I'll still talk to ya! Hell, I talk to the fish at the pet store I work at!
F#@%ing amazing show. My concert at that... Couldnt have asked for a better first! Things will only go down hill from here. I got my two favs. Reptile and The Wretched. Even better live!! This was my first time at a NIN concert and it was pure awesome.
Here's where I was, from a pic someone posted earlier.

I had bad luck with the people around me though. First was some kid right behind me who screamed during the songs, inches away from my left ear. Not only could I not hear the REAL music but the idiot behind me had most of the words wrong anyway! Then when he moved somewhere else, I got a group of 3 or 4 stoners behind me instead. They were so full of illegal materials that they could barely stand up, and kept stumbling into people (including me) then eventually were unable to stay standing at all and fell down. They moved after that (or got removed by security, I'm not sure) because I didn't see them again after that.
Image
This was my third round with Trent, and I have to say, it gets better every time. I still get misty whenever he plays the Frail. The lights were incredible--I have to say my favorite was during the Big Comedown when they were batting at the lights and making them sway. I was a row back from the front and then the rail opened up magically. Needless to say, I got up to the rail without violence. I was pleased to hear Me, I'm Not, and even more thrilled to hear Love Is Not Enough...whether or not it was solid, I still love that song.
On the pre-amazingness...
We ended up meeting a cool couple, and this guy Eric, who ended up letting me have two of his redbulls...lifesaver!!! But needless to say, these people were kick ass! I've never felt more comfortable at a concert with the calibur of personality that we met.
Oh, final note...during Echoplex...When Josh Freese comes out and pressed the lights, it only made me wonder...
Wow, I bet he feels like Vanna White.
Bricklayer
Where do I begin about the fake black-haired crater-faced vomit skank! After pissing everyone off so badly in the presale line once we were all inside...she starts guzzling beers (which is the brightest idea in the world before you enter an NIN pit). Did anyone notice her bloated cum belly...I thought she was pregnant at first. She came up to us giving her sob story about how her husband was in iraq...we told her that was irrelevant and that she should quit being a 'line betty'. Did anyone else notice her nasty shoulders? Each shoulder had a concave hole on the back near her shoulder blade...we joked that this is where all the fuckheads must cum on her when she fucks for NIN tickets...or where they dip their french fries for ketchup. SO HAPPY to hear she got punched and kicked out...there is justice even if a few of you got barfed on.
Before I get to the show itself, I have to blow some steam about a brief altercation that took place up front, dead center. Things were going great, until maybe the 2nd or 3rd song. Then some guy started shoving his elbows around to get in front of me, thus separating me from my fiance', just so he could get a better shot of the stage with his camera. I blew my fucking lid. I forced him behind me and warned him to stop. I turned to see that my outburst was knocking everyone around within a 3-person radius. This made me feel terrible. The crush of the crowd was already bordering on unbearable, and I contributed to making it worse for a brief moment. So, to those people who had to deal with that I sincerely apologize.

THE DAY LEADING UP TO THE SHOW....

We drove from KC to St. Louis, which is roughly 4 hours. We listened to GHOSTS on the way there. It's a dense album. Lots of material to familiarize yourself with. What better time than on the way to a NIN show? So, that made the drive enjoyable.

ARRIVING AT THE ARENA-worst organization EVER for separating the presales from the general ticket holders. We waited in the main line for a little bit until we realized where the presale line was, and of course there was a lot of confusion regarding that as well, not mention a lot of people that had to pee. Security did great controlling the crowd though. Matter of fact, they were great all night. We took our seats on the floor, and waited anxiously

The turnout looked great. During the first band the place looked a little deserted. The floor was mostly full, but the seats were spotted, but in all sections. But by the time NIN took the stage everything looked full; the floor and all of the seats sections, minus the VERY top sections, where I didn't see anyone. So, there were A LOT of people there. The reason I go into such detail about this is because I think that's one of the things people want to read about on here: how was the turnout?

I thought A Place To Bury Strangers was really cool. When I read everyone else's thoughts I thought 'great'. I watched and they totally reminded me of Autolux, Sonic Youth, and My Bloody Valentine (big time on this one. You can hear riffs that seem straight off of "Loveless").

---NINE INCH NAILS------

God Given. It's not a song you give much thought to, but something about hearing it live makes it even better. It's just funky as hell, and it really got the crowd going where I was.

Robin's guitar was out of tune during the beginning of Discipline, so he left the stage to get a new one. Alessandro took over the lead line while he was gone. No big controversy though.

The crowd lost it's shit during MOTP. I think it was pent-up frustration, but it got nuts. You could tell by the horrified screams of those not expecting it. That was nearly comical. Trent tossed a mic stand during this song. It's always great to see the band get destructive. THAT'S live NIN.

The crowd seemed to really sing along with everything, which I think is cool. I think the band feeds off of that energy as well. During "Letting You", "Gave Up", and "March of the Pigs" I think Trent saw that the crowd was enjoying itself and that made him really get into it. We feed off of each other.

The Big Comedown-absolutely excellent. The lights during the solo are PERFECT. awesome awesome.

The Ghosts set-I personally LOVE ghosts, so getting to hear some of it live just made it more personable and human. The lights, of course, are anything but. You will not see a show better than this.

The Great Destroyer-this probably takes the cake as being the sense-destroying portion of the show. That free-form breakdown in TGD, along with the lights, is a constant bombardment of your ears and eyes. It feels like self-destruction, ironically.

Me, I'm Not-I've always thought of Me I'm Not as being a mix between "Even Deeper" (for being dreary) and "Eraser" (because of the sliding spooky guitar line). That was really great to see.

Pinion/Wish-A perfect return to the hard portion of the show. Again, crowd lost it's shit.

Terrible Lie-It would NOT be a NIN show without this song. hearing thousands of people scream "Hey God!" and "Terrible Lie!"...awesome.

Head Like A Hole-Again, it would not be NIN without this one either. Screams, hands up in the air...awesomeness.

Only-I personally don't think the new guitar intro really fits the song, but everything else sounded great. The lights during this song were fucking amazing. Trent appearing and disappearing, throwing the transparent orb...yessir, good stuff. I approve.

The Greater Good-The strange blue waves were great to see. I too think something wasn't working with the the Trent-Face-Camera.

Love is not enough-definitely the surprise of the night. I didn't expect to hear this at all. Went over well. Again, I think Trent liked seeing that the crowd was into it.

Hurt-the crowd wasn't TOO terrible during this song. They started a clap during the first build up to the first chorus, but once the chorus started I think they all realized how terribly off-time they were becoming. We missourians learn quickly I guess. I love the way they perform it now, more like it used to be. There are more atmospheric sounds in the background, due to Alessandro I assume. Altogether, great to see.

In This Twilight-what a fucking brilliant song. It went over extremely well too. Trent didn't try to hit any of the high notes until the last chorus, which made it sound more rocking. So, that worked out well. When he did that I saw Robin look over at him and smile. I get the impression Robin was happy with how things went.

AFTER SHOW

Got the hell out of dodge, got home at 4AM, and went to school late the next morning. All worth it.

One last thing: the merch is pretty cool. I got the GHOSTS shirt. The prices aren't pretty, but about average for concert T-s.

^ Excellent review right there. Yeah, it was funny how off time some people were during Hurt.

one other observation: aside from Robin's, there were no guitar amps onstage. I thought that was really weird; definitely a change from previous tours. And I think that Justin was playing one of those Line 6 Variax guitars. So, apparently lots of guitar and amp modeling going on.

Holy shit! I was the other German fan in the crowd and my name is really, really similar to hers, especially if you pronounce it in the American way. So, please, everyone who met me before or during the show and whom I told my name and my origin: This was another girl. I was in 7th row on the left side and well behaved. Well, actually, I was jumping during the songs you should jump to - the only one jumping in that row which seemed to piss some people off. Seems like Germans suck :-) (Ask Trent.)
I will post more later.

edit: I accidentally deleted the end of quote code, now fixed.
oh yeah!! I forgot to mention how privileged i feel to witness the longest setlist on the tour thus far. 33 songs i think. The physical setlist posted earlier was missing 2 songs. Pinion and idk the other... Can anyone help?

A. Please get that bootleg out. Out of the shows I've been to far this was by far the best I've seen and the happiest I've seen Trent playing. Thanks for recording it.

B. There are some people that should not be up front in the floor. I'm simply tired of hearing people complain about how people kept pushing when they wanted to sit on the rail. I may be mistaken but every rock concert I've been to has been like that. For most people you just have to go with the flow and stay up and have fun. There is no sense in getting mad about it. I was about midway in the floor when March started and ended up about 4 people from the rail when it ended.
/rant
- I will give it up for this show though. The crowd tamed down soon after March and it made the show REALLY enjoyable. Way better than any of the others I've seen so far this tour.

C. Security was funny at least. Made the short wait inside bearable. Should have passed out the water but it was better than letting someone else ruin the show by throwing it on stage. All the pot smokers were hilarious. "For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen they see us". Yeah. It smells. Maybe I'm one of the few that don't need to be shitfaced/blown to enjoy a good show. Wish they would have done a bit more about that.

D. Set list was great. Could have done with some last or not so pretty now, or sin. I miss sin. God given really feels like the new anthem though. When the chorus hits the whole room kinda jumps.

Glad repeating made it there. Glad everyone had a good time.

AND For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. Just downloaded the "teaser". You're awesome. Please tell me you're getting that up here soon. And if theres anyway I can get the whole original recording that would be sweet.

We're taking an HD camcorder to Columbia. What was the clock on this show? 3 hours and something? Would like to know so we can make sure we can shoot uninterrupted.

There is also the interlude before Me, I'm Not, and the new intro to Only that aren't listed, could those be the other "song" you're thinking of.

Thankyou Malth, looking forward to it :)

The clock on my recording is 2 hours and 15 minutes

I plan on hitting up the Columbia show as well, since it's closer by like 115 miles. If you get a good video of it, then I can probably provide good audio, and all will be well
Master ad Vitam
Hopefully there's not too much crowd chatter on your recording.
The crowd was so talkative that night.

A big fuck you everyone who feels they have to talk - can't you just shut up for 2 hours of your life?
What are you afraid of? That your brain might start working?

Don't get me wrong, singing your lungs out is fine by me, but talking during songs is the most inconsiderate thing you could do (apart from vomiting!)

The stupidest part was when THOSE people were telling people to shhh during Hurt. Fuck all those people.
Mostly the same hypocrite who were complaining about pushing - all the while digging their elbows into the people in front of them.

I'm sorry, I wanted to avoid outbursts, but since there's so much love for the anal-ring-toss iraq-hubby girl, I figure people won't mind.
I'm listening to a different bootleg, and the crowd is a little bad during parts, so it rekindled my bottled anger from St Louis.
Hooray for mixed metaphors.

Unfortunate how much bad stuff is in a lot of reviews - it really was a great night :)

Fantastic show. I was on the rail right in front of the camera by Justin that was on during Survivalism. The lights were incredible, the show was fantastic, and surprisingly the crowd was very tame, I was only pushed once or twice by the dumb broad behind me.
Highlights definitely God Given, The Wretched, the Big Come Down, Love is Not Enough, and Reptile. Incredible.

I started out 4 people from the rail and when the show ended there was probably 20 or more in front of me, because I didn't want to be a douche and shove everyone around like they were doing. I don't care how many concerts you've been to, it doesn't make manners suddenly disappear and rudeness/assault suddenly A-OK. I showed up early so I could get a good spot, which I had until people got violent and pushy. I guess the next concert I go to I'll be sure to wear a vest of spikes under my shirt or something, just to be able to stay in the spot I got there early for.
Master of the Ninth Arch
I kinda just went nuts jumpin' around and shit and people just gave me my space... I stayed in one spot the whole show with like 3 feet space in any direction, like 8 people from the rail on the right side.

I'm sure I injured lots of toes and ears. Sorry about that, guys.

Great show, great set list. First time ever on the floor.

"General Admission" has never meant that you get a special spot on the floor. Regardless of what time you got there. Seems like a lot of people have made this mistake lately.

I was planning on staying about halfway back to make sure i could get full pictures of the screen. Didn't work out that way. Call me a pessimist but I'd be rather surprised if it went any other way.

On that note. Sorry you had a bad experience. I suggest if you want to be sure to have a spot you wont lose that you get there early enough to be on the rail. Should be easy enough to get on the rail. Especially with the way they are handling the presale lines now.
Bricklayer
First time Ive had a chance to post. I was one of the crazy people that got there way early-- early enough to snag the rail front row center from the very beginning. This was my wifes first NIN concert, so I took tons and tons of pics and Ill get them posted up soon so you guys can check em out (check back around sunday-tuesday night when I finally get a night off).

Pinion is just a recording though, its basically an intro (and a part of) Wish now as apposed to previous tours when they played Love Is Not Enough or Terrible Lie after Pinion. And as far as the Frail goes, at most of the shows so far this tour they've been playing The Frail into Closer rather than The Wretched.

After having suffered last night from the jetlag I feel now refreshed enough to give my 2 cents about the STL show.

I stopped by the venue at about 11 am to get some orientation about the entrances, the presale pick up window etc. I had a short talk with some hardcore fans who more or less camped in front of the entrance (a boy with long hair and a laptop and a girl with brown curls). I saw you later in the first row and hope you enjoyed the privileged place!
Then, I visited the gateway arch, returned to my B&B for a short break and then went back to the Scottrade Center to pick up my ticket.

As everyone in the presale line cheered at about 3:30 pm I almost got a heart attack because I thought someone important would show up. But it was just the will call window finally opening ...
After having got my ticket I went to the Hardrock Cafe but there was no one there so I had lunch in the Union Station, then watched other fans feeding gold fishes in the pont between Union Station and Hardrock Cafe and then returned to the venue to find out that the line at the GA entrance was like 300 feet long. After almost another hour (felt like 3 hours) of waiting I found out that the presale entrance was at the door next to the one in front of which my line waited and that there was no line at all at this door. Great organization, thanks! I asked the young guy who checked my ticket to send someone who would tell the other presale ticket holders about the right door as there were many of them in the wrong line but he didn´t care. Than they forgot to give me my wristband. And I didn´t know that I needed one, that has never been the case at other concerts I went to except festivals. With that time loss (plus the T-shirt buy) I ended up in like 8 th row or so. Next to me where Jen and Steve (Nice to meet you!) I was impressed by Jen´s longterm fandom and by the young age of the girl behind her (she was born in the year when Jen became fan :-)). I think the crowd was an interesting mixture of longtime fans and very young people and everything in between (like me).

I have to say that I really enjoyed APTBS. I already liked the song on the tour sampler. But I admit that I like goth music very much so the melancholy of their songs felt alright to me. I had the impression that the majority of the audience didn´t feel the same way. The guy next to me asked shortly before the end of their set "Have they started the second song yet" because he probably thought it sounded all the same. However I had a good laugh about that comment.

During the break between APTBS and NIN I wondered about the silence in the crowd, no one screaming for NIN or starting to sing one of the songs ...
When NIN entered the stage I was even more wondering about the restrained reaction from the crowd. And as they started with fast and aggressive songs I wondered even more about no one jumping or even raising their hands. I´ve never seen anything similar in a NIN show. I mean, there were just the first 6 rows right in front of Trent doing at least something that looked like moving to me. I watched that until MOTP however and then decided that even if this was not the way you behave at a show in the US I would not stand there like a dead during that song. So I jumped (I did not mosh though). If I had known that this was unusual in 7th row left to the center I would have tried to make my way to the first centered rows. But before the show I thought that this position would be hard enough to survive. So this is a question not a reproach: Is it impolite or inappropriate to jump and mosh during a rock concert in the US? Or is it that you are tired of the old songs? Or have you moshed during the 90s and now prefer to listen to the audio details during a live performance? I am just wondering because I experienced it very differently in Berlin and especially in Prague. If I pissed someone off I am sorry. I couldn´t avoid landing on the foot of the girl behind me sometimes (and she was very afraid because of her cell phone, too) but I did my best to jump just high and not the site or back and forth. (And I still think that if you want to write sms you should not go to a concert but to a coffee shop.)
I started to ask myself if Trent would cut the show short because of disappointment about the crowd. But he did his best and the band was awesome, too. And I think I don´t have to start about the visuals. Man, that was mindblowing!

After – I think it was Me I´m not – the crowd began to cheer much more than before. So I had the impression that it took a long time to warm up but then it got better and better. I was glad to see that the newer material is so well received in shows. Everyone really digged the YZ and Ghosts stuff. It might have been my special ear plugs but I heard no one shouting during the quiet songs and instrumentals.

I was sincerely grateful for Terrible Lie as that wasn´t played at the last two shows I went to. I loved that camera gag during Survivalism and Josh´s solo at the LED screen during Echoplex. And Only was so cool with that visual effect!

The Big Comedown and Reptile were a sweet suprise (I didn´t look at the setlists of the previous shows of this tour not to spoil the experience). I never heard them live before. Thanks! And like everyone I loved the live version of God Given. Looking so forward to the bootleg of this show!
And I was so happy to hear the "old version" of Hurt. That´s awesome! I took the earplugs out during this song and In this twilight. And I have to say at that time the cheering was really loud and that made up for the slow reaction in the beginning. I also loved the warm applause that the band members got when they left the stage one after the other. That was love. They really deserved that after an awesome show with brilliant sound. And did I mention the visuals?

I´d also like to say hello to the bald guy to my right. We didn´t really talk much but I appreciated being your neighbour. I could hear your singing along quite well and it was not bad at all. Also your lyrics knowledge impressed me. Was there any line that you got wrong at all? You could become TR´s prompter :-)

McGrew I saw you in the presale line. I wish my parents had been as cool as you when I was a kid!

And flawlessutensil, thank you for all the youtube clips!

Sorry, this was a bit long. But that show really deserved an extensive comment. And please don´t feel offended that I called the crowd lame in the beginning. It really changed after the first third. And I am just a tourist wondering about your manners and customs.

And Trent, I totally understand that you had had a bad day. I met a person who claimed to be the promoter of the show the evening before. He was a drunk, short, salacious guy named Don. The first thing he told me (I hadn´t even asked) was that he was the person to take you to the strip clubs in the city. And there was no doubt about how to get a backstage pass. I spared me that. By the way, I was the one telling him that I couldn´t go with him because I promised my father not to go out with strange men. He couldn´t stop laughing about it. I guess he told that every single person he met afterwards. He thought I was so uptight about sex and left me alone. God, stupid people are so easy to manipulate ... So, if he actually was the promoter and if you had to spend the day with him I totally understand that you were pissed off. He might be more likeable when not drunk though.
Master of the Ninth Arch
I just wanted to chime in and say that my fiancee and I had a really good time at the show. We were second row from the rail, way way to the right (by Robin's side) and spoke with three really cool girls from St. Louis who prefer to travel to Chicago (where we're from) for shows and we told them that we actually liked St. Louis better. Seriously - it's cleaner, people are more friendly, there's more space between things in St. Louis... it's hard to explain, but it just feels nicer there, in my opinion.

Anyways, show was really good! I enjoyed the visuals and the fact that none of them were OVER-used, and I wouldn't have even known that there was a glitch during "the greater good" except for the fact that I read from you guys here that there was! Go figure.

One of my favorite new songs to see was "God Given." It sounded great live. Also, I was glad that the "Only Time" breakdown in "Closer" still exists - I love that part!

Actually, I've never seen that before. That was my first show in St. Louis and I was disappointed in the crowd. Any other show I've been too the crowd gets much more into it. St. Louis just sucks.
Bricklayer
I honestly loved how the crowd chilled out for the slower parts of the show. It was nice to not have to fight for your space during ghosts tracks. A nice change of pace. The nine inch nails crowd has changed a lot though. Younger and younger it seems. I've seen grandmothers taking their grandchildren to the shows. Kinda disheartening that its become such an event but the music is still amazing.

Everyone was WAY more polite than any other show Id been too. Even the rowdy bitch behind me apologized for emitting a high pitched shrill into my ear several times during the show. Anyway. Set list didn't beat the STL 05 list but even with all the new material and the chilled crowd the show was great.

Bootleg Bootleg Bootleg.
Master of the Ninth Arch
I've been to quite a few St. Louis area shows through the years, and I will be the first to admit that generally the crowd is just not quite what it is elsewhere (Really noticed the difference when I saw a show in Irvine CA on the With Teeth tour).

I think the crowd at this show, however, was pretty excellent. Packed, but not sold out. People were generally polite, and no one made a complete ass out of themselves by pissing Trent off during Hurt.

I know that experience is totally subjective, but in my humble opinion this was the best show i've ever been to! Trent seemed *really* into this show, the setlist was varied and had some real gems (Reptile, anyone?), and aside from a minor guitar related mistake during Discipline and a missing visual during The Greater Good (I didn't even know they were going to do said visual trick, so I didn't even notice it was missing until I was told after the show) -- all was well.

Great show, great times. Can't wait for some boots!
I think most of the reason that nobody was moving on the floor, at least front and center, was because there was literally no room. We were all smashed together. There would be times that my feet would literally not touch the ground, but I'm still being held up. I guess you sort of expect that, but when MOTP or Letting You comes on it's kind of hard to react when you can't move.
Bricklayer
I bootlegged this show with a Sony hand held digital recorder. I was up against the rail right in front of Robin. I just bought this thing and am not sure how to break up the MP3...the recorder recorded it great, but it is just a 2+ hour long MP3. Anyone know how I can break it up or send it to someone who can? It is just a 2+ our MP3 file. The quality is great. Lemmie know.

Yeah. Id also love to have the original recording. Preferably from both the bootlegs.

And I started on it last night. Out of the collection I have I've found some 10 bootlegs already. I'm sure there are more in there but digging in all of my music to find it gets old fast. I'll stack the Flac files with MP3's that are tagged with album art made from pictures of each show. I'm also going to include picture and video folders from ETS and the Last.fm Flicker for each of the shows I get.

Personally. For me. I'd love the bootlegs of this show. And one of STL 05 if that exists. Anyway. I'll be here babysitting a server for the rest of my afternoon.

BIG question: I'm quite unsure who actually has the show recorded but anyway, what format was this recorded to? I'm assuming straight to .wav? If it's mp3, what settings did you use? CBR/VBR? If CBR what bitrate? I really hope it was .wav!!

Also, is it possible to get a raw/untouched version of this recording? I know you're trying to clean it up for all of us (which I do appreciate greatly) but I would like to hear it raw as well, if possible. In addition, I will gladly host this as well, if you would like.

Hello all -

Thanks to those who have responded to my post. I apologize for the delays in responding, etc...I am an archaeologists for the state of Missouri so I travel all over and don't have access to my computer or email all the time.

OK...so, I do not know anything about files/mp3's,/etc. etc. I am not quite sure how I would get this recording to one of you to break up? This is literally one MP3 file that is over 2 hours long. My digital recorder recorded it straight as an MP3. I do not know how I would get this huge file to anyone other than physically sending it to someone on a USB stick thing. I own an Apple MacBook and use Itunes for my MP3's. The recording of the StL show is still in my recorder too.

So, all of you nice folks who have contacted me, please let me know how I can physically get you this huge 2 hour MP3 file?!! Once you have it broken up and each individual song is an MP3 I would love to get it back to put into my Itunes etc.

Hope to hear from someone who can help me out...someone who is more computer saavy than myself.

Again...how kick ass was The Great Destroyer! Whew!
Bricklayer
You could download audacity (free) and then export the file at a lower quality. Or try uploading it to sendspace, rapidshare et al.

If you have the energy to redo it that would be fine. Just to see if it sucks or not :-) But I could try to print the actual version at the end of the week. Maybe it is good enough for jewel case size?
Again, thank you for having created that!

Lola. Sin. My gf was an intern with the Missouri archeological society all summer.

Do you know what bitrate the recording is?

You could email it, send it over an IM client, post it an a torrent site, or physically send it to one of us. What area are you in?

That one kicks ass

Sinking: maybe try compressing it in a .zip file and then sending it over email or megaupload or something.

Like I said before.... The St. Louis 08' show was THE BEST NIN show that I have EVER seen. IMO... And that is counting the INDY (4.20.00) Fragility 2.0 show and the 2 With Teeth tour shows (St. Louis 05' & Knoxville 05')and the 8.12.08 Knoxville, TN Lights In The Sky Tour show! I CANNOT WAIT TO GET THIS BOOT!!!!!!!

***ESPECIALLY since this was my son's first concert!!!! Hell yeah, First concert NIN L.I.T.S. Tour, STL show; and he's only three!!!! Unless Trent one-up's himself (somehow) in the future on another tour, my son will NEVER get a better show than this!!!! Myself included!!!!!!!***

Well...I posted because the fucking MP3 file is too big to email, stream, send, etc. That is why I was trying to get someone to help me/give advice. I already made it clear that you would have to be patient because I travel a lot and do not know much about computers.

I was going to send it to someone on a USB drive in the mail but...

...since my recording that I was going to offer to everyone is a disappointing "teaser", fuck it. The End. Congratulations on ruining it for everyone.

i didn't even listen to the "teaser" yet (link wouldn't work for me...), and i'd help but i wouldn't know how to split up an mp3. i'd still absolutely love to have it, though.

I'm sorry Sin.

You misunderstood me. Did you read this thread? There is an awesome quality "Teaser" from another poster about a boot he recorded. He posted "Me I'm not" like a week ago? Disappointing as in it doesn't seem like we're going to get one anytime soon. Know what I'm saying?

I'm still waiting though. And still have the bandwidth and time to split and track the files. :P

Admittedly. My other post could use an edit to explain that better.

BTW - I'll take any videos/Pictures I can get either. Flawless is sending me his as we speak.

I know fileden sucks. But that is the "teaser" we got earlier this week for anyone that missed it.

It's been a week. Chill. I don't like rushing out releases like some tapers do. Nothing wrong with it, I just want to be totally happy with the quality of what I'm releasing before I do it.

That being said, I plan on uploading something tonight.

another update, this one not so good

was going through disc 2, splitting it up into tracks, listening to it, etc, and I find that the transfer is fucked on echoplex

Since I had to do an analog transfer, it's going to take an hour to redo the second half of the show

Officially lost all motivation for the time being, I'll pry do it tomorrow afternoon

On a better note, disc 1 is completely finished, and no, I wont upload it separately

flawlessutensil wrote:well well well....

I'm getting kind of excited about the idea of a nice little collage of everyones recordings of the show. I think if we could gather more of the raw video files from everyone and and at least try to get a clip or two from each song played, we would have a pretty cool little piece of memorabilia for the show.
I have a .rar file (about 1.5GB) with all the videos i recorded ready to go. I wish that i could take on this task myself but my work schedule is a little hectic as of late so it would take me forever. I am however, willing to help out in any way i can to make this happen. I have also been in contact with KarmaJosh... he seems to have the same motivation i do with all of this.
I'm going to talk to my other friend about some possible video editing of multiple clips to create some nice full song videos synced to bootleg audio (hopefully) with different camera angles. This will of course come further down the line once everything can be gathered. So bottom line is... we need to get all the material in one place so contact anyone you see with recordings of the St. Louis show on youtube or anywhere else, get the raw source videos, and get them to me or karmajosh. I get the feeling we have a pretty cool idea here so lets keep it rolling.
Master of the Ninth Arch
I PMed the uploader of every video I found on Youtube, asking for the originals. No responses yet.
Bricklayer
Two of the videos on YouTube are under my girlfriend's account -- we got most of 1,000,000 and all of MOTP, but then we got busted by the video nazis in section 103 halfway through The Wretched. I'm still pissed about that. Made us leave our seats and everything just to yell at us and make us delete what we'd recorded.

Yeah, dude, of course we deleted everything.

Anyway, I'd be happy to send the two videos we managed to keep to whoever needs them. I had the same idea about putting all the footage together with the good audio, but I know I don't have the time to actually get it done anytime soon, so I'm excited that someone is willing to work on it.
Master of the Ninth Arch
I don't know of anyone else with MOTP, so good going :)

I just spent half the day watching all the stuff you guys uploaded. Everything was so awesome, thanks so much for all of it! Yeah. I've been swamped the last few days. you can forward any video over to jkarma@gmail.com or try and catch me on aim. While waiting for the bootleg and possible video collections for the St. Louis show I found footage in great quality for TGD, here is the URL: http://supernaut.biz/nin/destroyer/ . The guy posted it in the comments for the Gizmodo.com blog entry about the BSOD message during the breakdown of TGD, the ninhotline linked to it yesterday. His nickname is chaonatic ( http://gizmodo.com/people/chaonatic/ ) If you don´t have it already maybe you can contact him/her. As I said, the quality looks terrific.

Okay, now back to work. And I pray that the bootleg will be up *turns NIN time mode on* SOON.

I went out of my way a few post pages back to ask for help from you guys...some offered it (with no luck) and some ridiculed me with impatience after I asked for you guys to be patient as I do not have access to the computer all the time...and I do not know much about computers. Someone offered to send me a bunch of bootlegs on audio, all of them actually, from this 2008 tour on a usb stick and then I would send the St. Louis show I recorded (and still HAVE) back on the usb stick for him to break up and post. Well, I never got the stick or the audio bootlegs.

Trust me, I HAVE THE FUCKING ST. LOUIS SHOW ON AUDIO AS ONE HUGE 2 HOUR MP3 FILE. I have listened to it 20 times now on my itunes and on my ipod. I do not know how to break it up and am willing to send it to someone if they send me a usb stick and copies on the stick or on cd of the bootlegged shows from the rest of this tour (as long as I can put them directly into my itunes). I do not do torrents but love bootlegs, so I do not have access to all the other live shows out there. Let me know...

I don't want to be a dick, but I am not going out of my way anymore to share this show for free if half the people on this board get mouthy and impatient with the people who have what they seek, especially if they are offering it to them for free.

Settle down Sin King! I don't think shamefulidentity's post was directed at you. Look, you aren't the only one who's dangled the St. Louis bootleg in front of us, there are about 2 others that have stated they have full audio/video and have posted great teasers but nothing else. Most people are being very patient but sometimes you just get the feeling you've been hosed and no one's going to offer you a towel, you know?

I sent you a PM about a month ago offering to help but never heard back from you. They're all iTunes friendly with artwork. PM me if you want to work something out.

I will provide dvd's or a flash drive for the file. I don't think anyone is trying to be rude. We're all just anxious to get copies too. Personally. If I get it. I'll tag/art it and throw up a torrent with the original file and the split tracks same day. I've got the hardware and software to manage that. I can also provide a torrent of every complete song caught on video.

For the poster of the HD videos. Id be happy to help in any way I can there to get this out faster. The quality on this is pretty amazing.

Maybe even physical copies for the non web inclined.

jkarma@gmail.com. - Best way to reach me.
Master of the Ninth Arch
I've never been a fan of "fans" who do things like this.

This isn't me being rude but the whole bootleg hoarding thing comes off very horrible imo. Seriously, use winzip and split the file and put it up on rapidshare, put it up as a torrent, be a decent person and be a friendly fellow fan and share what you have with other people. Sitting on something that other fans are desperately trying to get a hold of is NOT a fan thing to do.

Fuck send me a dvd of the audio or the video and i'll split it up so that OTHER FANS can have it as well. Don't be a prick and hoard shit, it's not flattering.

See, if the venues would just allow amateur audio/video recorders into these shows we wouldn't have to deal with these "fans" who hoard these shows until they can get some kind of personal gain out of them.

Oh wait.

WE are the ones who are to blame on why these "fans" haven't put up the recordings.

In lighter news if anyone wants I've got a bunch of pics that I took from the rail (almost center, just to the right of trent). I've got some pretty good shots.

Here's a "sample" pic. If interested I can post a rapidshare of all the pics if anyone wants them, I have about 100 pics, although most of them are shit i've got approx 30 decent ones

I'd be happy to have them.

Bullshit.
shamefulidentity wrote:I've never been a fan of "fans" who do things like this.

Don't be a prick and hoard shit, it's not flattering.
shamefulidentity wrote:See, if the venues would just allow amateur audio/video recorders into these shows we wouldn't have to deal with these "fans" who hoard these shows until they can get some kind of personal gain out of them.

Oh wait.

WE are the ones who are to blame on why these "fans" haven't put up the recordings.

I forgot.

My bad.
Dude, you seriously need to shut the fuck up. If the audio/video was so imperative to your survival then where were you with the recording devices? I've been trying to perfect the FLAC rip and, in the meantime, I've been trying to edit the video (no easy feat when you're dealing with over 18GB worth of HD footage.) Then I have to hear this twats incessant whining? I've been releasing bits and pieces up till now so everyone could enjoy it as I was working, but evidently that's not good enough...

Hell, I almost decided against talking about it here just for the fact that when I asked for a little help on figuring out how to smuggle the camera in, not a single person offered a suggestion... not one:

http://www.echoingthesound.org/phpbbx/v ... 82#1534282

Yet, everyone was falling over themselves trying to help some chic (No offense ViolenceIsGolden) smuggle a ~$100 wannabe DSLR in, just a few posts later:

http://www.echoingthesound.org/phpbbx/v ... 96#1541896

WTF?

Meh, whatever. I don't hold grudges. I'll let you guys know where I am in the process.

The FLAC bootleg for this show is almost done. The video is not even close, but it's because I'm just now learning how to edit and the workflow on HD stuff is just crazy. I think I've pretty much got it all down, it's just a matter of editing/chopping it up, encoding it and making nice menus and what not. I have a sample here if you want to see what kind of quality you'll be getting:

http://supernaut.biz/sample.zip

This is just a teaser and it's only ~1.5 minutes long. It's full resolution so it's ~280MB (prepare for a lengthy download :P) You'll probably need to have a decent PC, though I've not tried it on lower end systems so I don't know for sure. Extract both files (audio and video) and use Media Player Classic to play it (play the .mp4 file and the audio should play automatically.) It'd probably be easiest to just install the Combined Community Codec Pack since it has the player and the codecs you need in it:

http://www.cccp-project.net/

As for the audio bootleg, I'll try to have it out by the end of the weekend. If someone bans shamefulidentity I promise to have it out by the end of the weekend :P (just kidding shameful, but seriously cool it.)

Anyway, please let me know what you think about the full rez footage... and apogee yhpm.

Let's get a few things cleared away to avoid nonsense arguments.

None of those posts were directed at you, they were directed at SinKing who refuses to release his/her audio unless he/she can get something out of it.

I apologize that I come off as ungrateful or as a "whiny twat" but here's what i've seen since a about week after the show:

1. Two or three posts of people who have the audio, one person posts a teaser of the audio and then never posts again.
2. A couple of really amazing quality videos posted of a few songs from the show, but when asked around noone seems to know anything about these videos and noone seems to know where the hell the rest of the show is.
3. Sinking - major league douchebag who does nothing unless he/she can get something out of it.

Obviously you've been working on the audio/video really hard for a real long time, and it turns out the reason why you posted the videos were to tide us over until the whole thing was finished, but it came off as (to the people who didn't know why they were posted exactly) was "el oh el i have the whole show in amazing HD quality but i'm not gunna post it all" BECAUSE you never stated that you were (from what i was able to find)

Those were not your intentions, but in all of our defenses we have been told by numerous people they have audio/video then they keep disappearing. Everyone has been teasing us then just letting us down or just not letting anyone know what was going on.

And about the me not bringing in audio/video stuff, believe me if I had the means to acquire a camera and/or audio equipment and smuggle them in believe me, i would have had seats instead of the pit and i'd be taping right along with ya...but I brought what I could...which was a shitty 5MP walmart camera that I was able to afford and I took a shitton of pictures from the rail. I will post a rapidshare of these pictures as soon as I get to my college to upload them. (I have dialup at my house and I just do my downloading/uploading at school)

I'm trying to give back as well, and to everyone who has been working to get this stuff out to the community thank you and I apologize if what i've said has pissed you off, but again we've been having this audio/video from MANY SOURCES dangled in our faces and then all of a sudden POOF their gone.

I hope this clears a few things up.

Wrong. I'm working with SinKing to get his boot out. I mailed him a flash drive to put it on, since he's apparently not good with the Internetz. Sounds like chaonatic will release his audio first, though.

chaonatic, good looking out! I am at work right now so I am sure that I won't be getting to check out this teaser until early in the morning (or maybe I should say later in the morning since it is 03:27 right now!). Glad to see that we can all just get along here! And your not letting people that piss you off here (god knows that I stopped posting at "the spiral" because of that very reason!) doesn't drive you off and away to say "Fuck it, this/these jerk(s) have ruined it for all of you; so tough shit I am not gonna be releasing it ever! I am just glad as can be to see that this is moving forward and is really happening!!!! Thanks!

Congratulations again shitlips.

Everybody should just relax.

I'm downloading the samples now.

If someone bans the stupid spammers that are hitting this thread that would be sweet too. I wish we would have taken the camcorder we brought in. I'd like to know what you used to record 18g of video. That is fucking hot. HDD cam? We took a palm sized cam with a 8g flash card but my friend pussed out and thought it was going to get taken away even though it was smaller than the digi I took. My plans for the other MO and OK show may have been canceled but I think I'm going to the Vegas show now. May try to record that.

Are you doing this on a Mac? I've never done video editing on anything else. I know how system straining 18g worth of video is. Thanks for doing it.

Oh, and please tell me you have the little speech part.

Oh well.
Either way you guys will have them tomorrow. :)

I've reencoded the sample video so anyone that was having problems playing the other file can try this one instead. Right click and "save the link as" otherwise it may try to play in your browser.

The Big Come Down *Sample*

Also a little update on the bootleg... it's not done. Heh, actually been working on it the past few nights so don't think it's not coming (this is actually part of the reason I didn't post about it previously cause I didn't want to keep saying 'almost'.) Soon though, I assure you.

mcgrew, I got your PM but I'm at a serious loss as to what your actual problem is. What are these ".ypm" files you're referring to? All the tracks that I upped should end in ".flac" as they're made with the "Free Lossless Audio Codec". I've never seen a ".ypm" file extension, personally, so I have no clue what you're talking about.

I think we need a little bit more information. What operating system are you trying to listen to the tracks on, Windows or OS X? This will dictate which media player you need to play the files. Also, the files will need to be transcoded to be compatible with your iPod/iTunes, but again we need to know which OS you're using as there are different tools per OS for this task.

We'll get you going, don't you worry. ;)
Master Traveler
mcgrew... I am not sure what file extension you are getting but if you want mp3 versions you can use this site to convert them... works really well and is totally free:

I wouldn't recommend that in any way, shape or form, personally. The best quality you can get is 128kbps, that's about the equivalent of FM radio and for a live show it'd be atrocious. There are plenty of free programs out there that will convert to formats with much better quality, I just need to know whether to suggest OS X or Windows apps (this is why I asked which OS in my previous post.)

Let's try this again…

This thread is once again open for business, due in part to the discussion of the DVD bootleg of this performance. I wasn't at this show, but I feel the need to post here.

If this gets flooded with spam again, it will be closed until a more permanent solution can be found. I will see if it would be possible for Greg to fix it so that only registered users can post to this thread.

Master of the Ninth Arch

Master Traveler
leo3375, Thanks for giving us and this thread another shot. I am pretty (well I guess I shouldn't be) surprised that the spammers have gotten back so quick. Anyway, I was just seconding the curiousness in reference to the progress with the DVD or maybe even a Bluray disc? I went out and bought an eight gb flash drive to have enough room for the download! I can't wait!!!
Grand Pontiff
as far as i know, the bootleg isn't out yet. once it is, i'll gladly burn some DVDs.
Master Traveler
I am a little..... bummed out honestly! The reason being that our main man, chaonatic hasn't been around much lately. I completely understand that this takes time, but it's been almost a month since any posts have been made from him! Just a little "Hey what's up, I've been really busy." would set my mind at ease! All I am trying to say here is that it would be nice to hear absolutely anything! The audio from the show has kept me very hungry (and has dominated my iPod's play list) for the video to come out! Oh, and it's still really cool that our concert (set list and number of songs played & encore total) has yet to be rivaled by any other stop on the tour! And, in my opinion that is for all sets from any other shows; up to and after the St. Louis show! I guess that Trent was really enjoying himself and the crowds energy!!!

I had to go out and get two more speakers also, but it was sooooo worth it! I've rewatched the AATCHB DVD about 15 times since and it... I personally think that sound quality is twice as good on it than BYIT's DVD or Blu Ray! They fucking nailed it on the audio quality back then. Not to mention the intensity and energy is just incredible! (Back on topic) Can't wait to see how this all comes together chaonatic, keep up the fucking GREAT work!!! "And thanks again!!!!"

I hope that the LITS: Las Vegas dvd didn't throw the STL video into the ocean...

Any progress report on the video?
Master of the Ninth Arch
I'm going out on a limb and saying the STL bootleg isn't coming out any time soon. (here's me betting we'll have the vegas dvd before the st louis bootleg)
Hell chaonatic has already sent torgo a dvd of the vegas show a week ago at least...its been over 4 months since the stl date...

Oh well, at least we have the audio.
Bricklayer
Can someone upload .mp3s of the bootleg? I personally have had the .flacs sitting around for a long time, but I don't have the HD space to convert them to .wavs in between.
Master Traveler
use dbpoweramp

and you really dont have 1.4GB of free space? godam. Hell you don't even need that, do 1 disc at a time and you only need (not even) 700MB free space
Master of the Ninth Arch
I'm gunna say we were forgotten.

Seriously, go ahead and look around on the LITS dvd site, you'll notice that torgo thanks chaonatic for sending in the dvd from the las vegas show mere weeks after the show...and it's been almost 6 months since the STL date and still nothing but audio. Looks like unless chaonatic gets his name in lights he has no reason to even attempt to distribute any kind of video beyond youtube. If he has time to cut, edit and convert the video into a format good enough for youtube, and take the time to upload each video separately he can make a torrent and let it sit.

We've been mislead, forgotten and lied to.

It's never coming.

-awaits defensive "you've ruined it for everyone asshole" post from him within a week-
Master of the Ninth Arch
bullshit
Master of the Ninth Arch
Am i the only person still interested in this?
Master Traveler
Ummmmmm....... *cough, cough* FUCK NO!!!

I've said it a hundred fucking times, this is a very special show to me and always will be (read my post on page one if you don't know why, that is if you care to know) special to me. I am thankful that we have gotten anything at all. But like you had mentioned previously, it does seem like this show and DVD release for the show have been long forgotten... At first I would get PM's back and they were very polite and nice.. Then a couple months down the road I don't even get a reply back anymore... Sucks right!?!

I know that everyone (for the most part) here has got a life, job, and maybe families as well; and cannot just sit around on ETS & nin.com to be there just in case someone needs a favor or a question answered... But shit, that doesn't mean you can't drop a line here or there, you know? But yeah... I would really fuck'n dig a DVD of this show and hopefully we will have one for it someday!

It was an incredible fucking show, I still think that Trent thought so also, just look at the setlist! We still hold the record for the LITS shows (most songs played) don't we???
Master Traveler
Yea, I sent chaonotic a pm some time back telling him that I'd be more than happy to offer up my audio o sync with his vid.

Never received a reply

He was never going to upload it. We should have known when he posted his shit on youtube that it was just to make his e-peen bigger.
If he wanted to upload the footage from the st louis show he would have.
Master ad Vitam
I love the bootleg of this show, it reminds me of being there all over again! :D

Trent's "ALLLL RIGHTTT!" after 1,000,000 makes him sound so damn pumped.
Master of the Ninth Arch
It's getting ready to hit a year since the show here in a few months.

The video ain't happening.

Period.
