the crowd was tamer than last night, however i was standing next to 3 fair weather fans in the pit all show long. they thought downward spiral was sunspots and went crazy when it came on, and they were EAGERLY awaiting the hand that feeds, which after midset, in an effort to shut them up, i said was going to be played last. it sort of got them to quiet down, or maybe it was that joint they smoked.

the energy level was lower than last night as well, trent seemed a bit subdued, there was no wild thrashing about and nothing was kicked over or thrown into the back. seeing heresy, last, down in it, home, and dead souls made my night, anf i loved how everyone seemed to sing along during down in it and sicnh.

another stellar performance from NIN, and now i am moving along to chula vista.

If I am not mistaken this was a completely tambourine free evening.

Street Sweeper was on fire! They warmed me up so much that I forget to not sing along when I was capturing NIN on flash media. Will upload as soon as I get somewhere that has free internet.

Well, what can I say? I have kind of fallen out of love with NIN in the last year (for lack of a better phrase) and even this morning wasn't sure if I was going to go.

Then I kind of kicked myself in the ass and thought, you know, if this really ends up being their last tour, I am really going to be pissed off at myself that I didn't go. I was a hardcore NIN fan for 12 years, and I figured that was more than enough reason to give this a go.

Got there about half an hour before SSSC went on and found a surprisingly great ticket- ninth row, left of center. So that certainly made me feel better about the whole thing.

SSSC was surprisingly good. I can't stand Rage and while I respect Tom Morello, I'm not a particularly big fan of his playing, either.

That being said, SSSC rocked that place, and I thoroughly enjoyed their set. I don't know that I'd ever buy their album, but I enjoyed them a lot more than I thought I would, and certainly a lot more than most of the opening bands I've seen.

Then, NIN came out. And opened with "Home," which was fine. Again, at this point, I'm glad I came, but I'm not overly excited yet.

It wasn't until the beginning of "1,000,000" that I really started to get into it. I always thought the live videos of the song were WAY better than the album version, but even those don't compare to actually seeing it live. Great song, immediately pumped up the energy of the whole place, and from that point on the whole set was absolutely incredible.

And, what can I say? It restored my love for NIN. This was a brilliant show, and I had a great time. I can die happy having heard "Heresy," "Last," and "Down In It" live. "Last" especially was just amazing. It was absolutely my favorite song of the night.

I could have done without a few of the regulars- SICNH was fine, but it's kind of lost its magic for me. Same goes for "Hurt," though I was still glad to hear it. "Reptile" is one of my favorite NIN songs, but wow am I sick of it. Still, as always, it was very good live.

I was surprised by how much I dug "Head Like A Hole." Again, another song that I love but am just completely sick of. But I have to say that it was great tonight, and one of the higlights of the entire show.

Very nice setlist, had a mix of rarities and more well-known songs. I'm not too bummed out that we didn't hear "Closer," but I was kind of surprised to find that I actually did miss it a little bit. But they key words there are "a little bit" because it didn't bother me too much. I think, had they played it, it would have gone in the HLAH category, which is to say that I'm sick of it, but it's still nice to hear live.

Also, as a final laugh for the night, the dude next to me threw his hands in the air the minute the set was over and went "What the HELL?" I can only guess about his cryptic meaning, but I'm assuming he was pissed that they didn't play "Closer" and/or "The Hand That Feeds."

Did I mention that they played "Last" and "Down In It"?

Awesome show. I really wish I could catch another one this tour. Oh, well. At least I got a chance to go, and I'm very grateful for that.

my sorry ass wasn't able to make it until the end of the NIN set, and I hate myself right now. I heard down in it as I was sprinting through the parking lot. I got inside for the last chord of HLAH and just about threw up, lol. Damn family and their "dinner plans"

Jane's Addiction, I don't think I can give a fair review because of my bummed attitude about missing NIN. I dunno, but to me it felt like the band was two soloists, and two musicians. Anybody else?

Poor Dave got a full cup of water thrown on him, and his guitar, right after he so graciously gave someone a pick. I gotta give it up for his guitar tech for his uncanny ability to catch flying guitars with one hand while holding another guitar in the other hand. Sadly that was the thing that impressed me most.

No one obnoxiously clapped off key or screamed inapropriate comments during "Hurt," which was surprising. I was also surprised that the audience stood the entire NIN set because most of them were down through Streetsweeper and Jane's Addiction (including me.)

Awesome show. I only took three or four pictures because I was too focused on watching the show. They're terrible quality as well, so sorry about that! Hope someone captured something good though.

That was my 6th time seeing NIN, and it was probably my favorite of the bunch. The band sounded fantastic, and it definitely takes the prize for best set list.

They let us in early for the sound check, though we had to wait in the plaza area- so we couldn't see the band.

Hearing "Last" was worth the price of admission alone. Major props to the guy who dropped and did pushups in the middle of the pit during the bridge, and the guy who pulled his shirt over the face and walked around like a zombie. It made the song all the more memorable.

SSSC was great. Tom Morello's a bad-ass, and the band had a lot of energy. I'll pick up their album for sure.

I'm only a casual JA fan, but their performance was top notch. "Summertime Rolls," in particular, sounded great.

I met hippygeek briefly and he seemed like a standup guy. I got a poster, a few shirts, and some overpriced beverages. Good times.

I'll be really bummed if this turns out to be the last time I see NIN live. Seeing the crowd go apeshit for the entire set coupled with the fact that the venue was packed makes me feel that there's still a lot of gas left in the NIN tank. This is a band that is still relevant.

I hope this is just "goodbye for now."

Filmed 95% in HD (thanks to Jandrox's nephew), and I'll dupe it for the chrome guys when I get time.

LOVED the setlist - almost to the point that I didn't take water breaks (but I managed a couple).

Banged and Blown Through was a great addition.

Oh, and Dave Navarro is a fucking tart (I'm just jealous I guess heheh)

2nd time seeing NIN live, first time in the pit.

We got to the venue around 4:30pm, and had no problem getting our presale tix from the nin.com booth. They must have gotten a serious tongue-lashing after the last incident.

Hung out in the nin.com line and talked to two NIN fans who were obviously drunk as hell, it was funny. They opened the gate for us at 5pm, but we had to stay in the plaza area and couldn't go in to watch the soundcheck, but we could hear it.

At about 6pm they let us into the pit, which is surprisingly small at Cricket Pavilion compared to other venues.

Street Sweeper Social Club went on about 7:30 and rocked the fuck out. I'm definitely grabbing that album when it comes out. Not sure of the full setlist since I don't know all the song titles, but here are the ones I recognized:

100 Little Curses
Nobody Moves (Till We Say Go)

The crowd was already getting pretty pumped up during Nobody Moves.

NIN opened up with Home. I was secretly hoping for Now I'm Nothing, but Home was still amazing.

Last, Suck, and Down In It were all pleasant surprises.

Haha, I saw that! Funny as hell.

I was at the back of the pit during the first part of the show, and during March of the Pigs, a huge mosh pit opens up right in front of me. It was amazing to watch at first, but after long I kept getting pushed back into the first row of seats, so during the "You let me do this to you" part of Mr. Self Destruct, I ducked through the mosh pit and up closer to the stage. Wish felt like being in the actual video for that song, with so many bodies tossing me around during it, it was a lot of fun. (If the girl I accidentally elbowed during "bad luck fist fuck" reads this, sorry, I got carried away, lol)

Went and grabbed some water and merchandise during the intermission, and hooked up with the friend I took with me, and we went and wandered the lawn during the first few Jane's Addiction songs. JA had a totally different vibe from NIN, instead of rock the fuck out it was more of a party attitude.

Made it back down to the pit for the second half of JA's set. I didn't know any JA songs, but had a good time watching the action.

A very special fuck you goes out to the waste of sperm who threw a drink right in Dave Navarro's face.

We left during the JA encore to beat the rush, since we had a 4 hour drive back home.

All in all, best concert I've ever been to.

The sound on all my video is horrible, but there are some good shots (and some not so good shots too) that I'm thinking of compiling together into one long video summary of the show. My battery kept going dead, so some songs are just bits and pieces here and there. I'll post a link here when I get it up.

Oh,and I almost forgot. I found a pair of glasses in the pit that were (amazingly) undamaged, and handed them in toguest services on the way out. I think I saw the guy who lost them looking for them, but I couldn't find him during or after the NIN set.

Oh, and did anyone else spot Perry way up overhead watching the NIN set next to the lighting guy? He leaned over every now and then,giving a glance of his bandana. Heheh.

Just checked the HD video 5Gb footage from last night, shit sound - I also took the time to record a chunk of JA for them. Footage distribution next week :)

I am still recovering but I came so hard last night. More about my orgasm and I will post my shitty pics SOON.

And yes the the fucking poser noob who threw the water/beer and Dave your an uber dick.

The best NIN show I've been to (probably due in part to the fact that it was my first show.)

SSSC: Kicked a lot of ass on stage and I enjoyed them a lot. The part where Tom Morello played guitar with his mouth was awesome.

NIN: Kicked a lot of ass on stage and I enjoyed them a lot. The setlist was awesome and I was glad to hear some of my favorites like Home, Heresy, Last, Survivalism, The Fragile, The Downward Spiral, and Suck. They also played Banged and Blown Through which was cool.

JA: Kicked a lot of ass on stage and I enjoyed them a lot. The visuals were awesome and complemented the performance well. Some drunk idiot threw their drink at Dave Navarro, and after the song was over Perry Farrell asked the guy "How did you know we were thirsty?"

Venue: Kicked a lot of cash out of my wallet and I disliked their pricing a lot. 4 fucking dollars for a small bottled water that you had to put into a styrofoam cup? You betcha. Fortunately, the seating and cover area were great. There were a lot of fans there on the ceiling as well as a ton of fans in the pit/seats. There was a drunk chick near me that screamed for the entire show and spilled her beer everywhere, so I was glad I got to have the genuine NIN experience. Something cool was the giant projector screens on the left and right sides of the stage, and during waiting times people could text messages to display on there, it was fun (a lot of chan users it seemed.)

10 out of 10, would go again.

Iff someone can put the Phoenix show on dvd for me I woudl be forever greatful, the view and the sound from the lawn was shitty, i want to see the show closer!

Wow, the NIN.com thread on this show is full of a bunch of retards arguing about how the relaxed camera policy "ruined their experience". Once again, ETS > NIN.com forums

Oh it's really just one guy, isn't it? And it does sound like people around him were being dicks. My view is that yeah everyone should respect everyone else and it IS Trent's decision to allow cameras/video, but if my big-ass lens is in someone's view the whole time, that's not fair. Hopefully I didn't do that to anyone. On the rail I would take a few shots and put the camera down, take a few more the next song and put the camera down, etc. When I was in the back of the pit I moved around a lot so nobody could ever complain I was blocking them for minutes on end.

I had arms blocking me many times. I just sucked it up. To me they had more right to put their arms up than I had to shove my camera in their way.

I have gotten to a few Phoenix pictures. I have many more to go through still; I haven't even looked at Chula Vista at all yet. Here's one of Robin and one of Trent that I really liked. That lighting was heavenly.
