At a loss for words. Crowd generally sucked during NIN, though. Seemed like everyone was there just for Janes. Most people in my section didn't show up until after NIN. But wow, they would kill to have witnessed NIN tonight and they don't even know it.

I appreciated Trent's speech before "La Mer."

I seriously disliked everything about Janes Addiction tonight.

Many songs during the NIN set brought me to tears, but I really lost it during HLAH. Out of all things. I was standing there bawling like an idiot. But as I watched everyone throw their hands into the air while Trent sang "bow down before the one you serve," I couldn't help thinking that that moment just can never get old, and that it shouldn't stop now.

Generally very bittersweet.

Much as I would have loved to hear more Broken — can't have too much Broken, can you? — or SICNH, or a dozen other songs I could name ... the emphasis on The Fragile (plus the related pieces o' Still and Things Falling Apart) made the biggest impression on me. Driving home I realized there was zero overlap with LITS, unlike every other period they covered. (No Year Zero this time out.)

In fact, Burn, Home and The Becoming were the only "new" non-Fragile era songs tonight. But that doesn't take away from it for me.

La Mer would have been my personal highlight even without Trent's poignant intro. (Has he done that before on this tour?) It sounded like he was working his way toward it, noodling on the piano, then he stopped playing to talk about it. And it flowed naturally from there to The Way Out is Through.

Brilliant.

SSSC kicked serious ass. I am digging that band even more now that I have heard most of their material from their upcoming album. I thought that the cover they did of that popular rap song from Pineapple Express was a great addition as well. It was a real treat to get to see Tom Morello too, and he didn't cease to amaze. The crowd was pretty into it, the most interaction I've seen for an opening act. I suppose Tom Morello has that effect on people though.

Trent's speech about writing only one song in that period of time when he started work on The Fragile (being La Mer) was really touching. It gave me new appreciation to that song, and it really solidifies its importance in that album (what with the repeated melodies in that album and what not).

The highlight for me was seeing The Fragile. Its a track I was really hoping they would play and I was delighted to have gotten to hear it live for the first (hopefully not the last) time. I especially thought the Fragile era string of songs (La Mer, The Fragile, Gone, Still, The Way Out Is Through) was phenomenal. I think its great that Trent played The Way Out Is Through on a leftover Fragility Tour guitar as well.

The crowd was a bit lackluster for most of the show. Trent seemed a bit displeased at the beginning. However about midway through the crowd started getting more into it (hopefully not in part from alcohol consumption). According to his Twitter, Trent seemed to have enjoyed himself.

Didn't stick around for Jane's though, (wanted to leave on the high note of NIN's last show for a while in Boston with me) they weren't the band I was really there to see.

Overall it was my second NIN show (the then Tweeter Center in June of '06) and certainly my favorite of the two. Here's to hoping Trent returns to Boston soon.

That midway point was where they changed "shifts" for the backstage VIPs (too many of us to fit all at once, even though they had more backstage room for us on this show than the previous ones).

All told, I'm glad I was on the first shift, given the set list. I figured out how to get to my section just in time for Burn and the main Fragile set (no real complaints about missing Echoplex this year).

I wanted to kill the girl next to me who literally SAT there the whole time, smoking and texting on her phone. So I kept accidentally bumping into her. Ooops. Sorry. Did I knock that cig out of your hand? My bad. Perhaps you should GET UP and GET INTO THE SHOW.

Trent was ON last night. It was amazing to see and experience. He seemed genuinely happy and really, really into it at the end. During Head Like A Hole, when everyone was screaming the lyrics, I got a little misty-eyed, but nothing like what I'll probably be like Saturday in Jersey.

Highlights:
Burn
Metal (it was funny, it seemed like only about 29 people knew what the song was)
Speech during La Mer

Didn't stick around for Jane's. My friend did, and all she said was "Dave's hot. The rest of them are kinda lame."

I'm sad that PNC is going to be my last show on the tour. It really feels like this could be the end.

Review, abridged version: sweet fucking Jesus, that was the show I've been waiting to see for years and years.

Okay, I'll expand. Highlights:

-Home. Ever since I heard the bootleg of that from an '05 Paris show, I've been dying to hear that live. It's such an uderrated and under-appreciated song, in my opinion.
-Somewhat Damaged: first time I've seen that live. While NIN have rocked my socks every time I've seen them, that was the most intense and powerful performance I've seen yet. The ending lines are ones that I often think about myself in respect to my current situation, and it was great to see the song in person. Also, my brother was going apeshit next to me, which I always love to see.
-METAL. Holy fuck. Huge Gary Numan fan. Huge NIN fan. Enough said.
-The Becoming. Even though I got TDS years and years and years ago, it wasn't until about five years ago that this song really caught me. But when it did, it really took hold, and I went nuts when they broke this one out.
-La Mer. The speech before it was amazing. I'm not sure why Trent would want to play something that still makes him feel so strongly about being in such a horrible place, but I'm glad he did. That song was simply beautiful, and by the end of the speech I was really choked up. I loved the last line about dying - something like "that never happened. I've got a while to go still".
-Gone, Still. Wow, something off of Still? Yes. Yes. And then, to go right into....
-The Way Out Is Through. The first time I listened to The Fragile, I thought how that song must be an amazing opener, or at least a great live track. When I heard the opening sample for that, my mouth just dropped. Another one of those "dreams come true" kind of moments.

So...yeah, the night was incredible. It took over 400 miles of driving to get there, and it's going to be a long trip back, but there is no doubt in my mind that I would do it again in a heartbeat. Our seats were ridiculous - Section 2, row R; must have been about 50 feet from the stage. There was an older guy a couple rows ahead of us who was rocking out - in a suit. So glad to see that there are people in older generations who like NIN. We stayed for about half an hour of Jane's Addiction, then decided to head out due to an early work schedule this morning. I liked there set; even though I really didn't know much of the music, I would have stayed for the whole thing if I'd had the chance. Perry's speeches were priceless, and I really hope someone taped them.

SSSC were good. I think we only missed the first song, since Tom was still wearing his jacket when we got to our seats. I really enjoyed their set, and am glad I was able to see the bulk of it.

In summary: amazing night. Thanks to all who were involved in making it happen.

Wow, where to start. First let me say that NIN was Spot On! This was my 7th time seeing them and they sounded really good. Unfortunately I missed part of Discipline and March of the pigs. My friends were about an hour behind us and arrived late, I had to run to the gate to give them their tickets. Well I did and then the "staff" at the venue wouldn't let me back in. I had a meltdown, and they finally decided to let me back in. We were technically in Sec 4, but we managed to get into Sec 2 : ). I was a little disappointed in the setlist( I was dying to hear Last, Heresy, and I do not want this), but hearing The Way Out Is Through really made up for it, not to mention La Mer and The Fragile! I was amazed at how many people were just sitting/standing there, seeming to not really be into it. I didn't stop dancing the whole show, I musta looked like some crazy hippy on drugs(I was the guy with the long hair and the pretty hate machine shirt on). I've been a Jane's fan almost as long as I've been a NIN fan, but based on the bootlegs of this tour I heard so far I wasn't expecting much. Man was I pleasantly surprised!!! The band sounded great, Perry seemed to be struggling a bit but still did really well. Hearing Then She Did, just totally blew my mind, I was in another world. I did managed to get some cool pics, I was gonna bring my camcorder, but couldn't get it working : (. Although I Did notice someone down front filming NIN with a JVC cam, so bravo to him. All in all it was a fantastic night, if this is the last time I see NIN, at least I can say It was a Magical Night.

was first in the presale line, though had seats. played NIN mad-libs during those first few sleep deprived hours, met some fantastic folks in the process.

the setlist, though beginning with two strong numbers, was a bit atypical at first, but as the four fragile-era tracks kicked in, the setlist shifted in power and beauty. new arrangements and synth-dissonance made some of the old standards sound fresh. and didn't [s]eric avery[/s] a special guest join for bass on 'wish?' couldn't quite make out who it was so can't be certain.

street sweeper social club: liked them more than i expected to. fantastic.

jane's addiction: as a rather decently-sized fan, i was quite disappointed with them. a few fantastic numbers (three days, ted, just admit it, mountain song), while the rest sounded flat by way of perry. his voice just doesn't sound as powerful and vital, which is to be expected i guess, but still a disappointment all around.

First off, considering what's about to follow, let me emphasize that I enjoyed the show immensely. The setlist was great, from sampling I can say with confidence that both my audio and video turned out pretty well, and I was surprised by SSSC's charismatic performance.

Now to the bad stuff. NIN audiences are consistently the very worst with whom to see a show. People were loud, obnoxious, selfish, immature and smelly assholes. I was in section 5, row C, and would like to give a big shout out (FUCK YOU) to the bitches in front of us. I don't care about your acquaintance in Boston who just got married or what your brilliant deductions about the swine flu are, ESPECIALLY IN THE MIDDLE OF SONGS. You saw me recording, even asked me 'you gonna put that up on youtube?', but then apparently were too dumb to realize that your dumbass blabbing was ruining the experience of people around you. To the middle-aged jackasses behind us: stop arguing with the nice seating attendant in the handicap section. When she asks to see your tickets, it doesn't help to repeat "the four of us are together, man, I paid 85 dollars!" five times. She heard you the first time and it doesn't make a fucking difference. We ALL paid money to be there and a couple of you were likely in the wrong fucking section.

Alright, done with the ranting for now. The setlist was great, I heard a lot of the songs I was hoping for.

I was able to take some videos, they came out a bit shaky but i was on the rail and there were these assholes next to me who were attempting to push us off the rail the entire show. kinda ruined the experience for me because all i saw for half of NIN was this guys elbow that he wouldn't move.

SSSC was amazing, their energy was awseome and were very fun to watch.
Janes was good, it was a lot calmer and gave me time to wind down from NIN before the night ended.

SSSC was excellent, NIN was excellent, Jane's was excellent, nin.com-purchased seats were incredible.

That was a fantastic show last night. Very different set list than I've seen in the past...anyone who was near me (section 1, row T), I'm really sorry that I kept saying things like "WOW" and "holy shit" whenever a new song like Metal...or La Mer...or Gone, Still...or Burn started...

I REALLY liked SSSC...a lot more than I thought I would. I can honestly say, this was the second time I've seen Jane's Addiction...first was maybe 7 years ago (2002 I think)...and they were about the same as they were then...nothing spectacular...though I did like when Perry belittled the guy that threw what was it...a bottle cap...that hit him in the face? It was nice to see him not end the show, but instead say what he said about being there to entertain 10,000 people, and not to ruin it for everyone.

That was fucking surreal when he got hit. Like it was in slow motion or something. I laughed my ass off. I had a hard time getting into them too. I think it was NIN first then them. Too much energy or something. That's all I can think of since I used to be really into them.

fucking wow! and not that dogshit song on manson's new dogshit album. just fucking wow man. i was rather disappointed with the absence of i do not want this and i'm afraid of americans.... but i'm even mad at myself for complaining. that ws amazing. i cried (hard) during somewhat damaged. that song inspired me to dissolve my failing marriage. trent's speech (yada yada not to discredit but it's already bordering legendary status so dead horse yada yada) metal was alot better than the videos i had seen. only one TRUE gripe... gone still? ok cool but what about leaving hope or the persistance of loss instead? oh well great now i'm crying cuz i know it's all over.. or is it? wouldn't be the first trick he's pulled on us. epic fuckin night thanks for all who came. i love that nin fans are so into it they very rarely fight or mosh cuz they're busy paying attention. greatness

Had a great time. I'm so glad I don't have to bitch about other people at the venue because I stood with a pretty quiet crowd of fans in a pre-sale section about 10 rows from the right of the stage. The draw back was I could see Ilan and the lights almost put me into a seizure. No biggie. My husband, who only comes to keep me company has always complimented the lighting and last night was no exception.

I only saw the last two songs of Street Sweeper Social Club and am sorry I missed their whole set.

Note to Trent: not a good idea to tell 10,000 fans where you are getting married.

I also enjoyed watching the crowd at the rail. There was one dark hair young guy who was singing every line at the top of his lungs. Another, a row back, who had to be 6'5'' with long hair. Felt bad for whomever was standing behind him.

I don't have a lot to say about Jane's. They were good, but not who I came for.

That was Dan Cleary. He is Dave Navarro's guitar tech and in a band called Grace and Manners, he kicks ass, so does G&M. MA is where he's from, what a great place to be able to join NIN onstage--he's a lifelong fan so it was amazing for him. he's on Twitter as @graceandmanners if anyone wants more info.

nin was top form... almost like the 1999-2000 era (i was too young for the early 90's but ive seen footage) only thing missing was corn starch and lots of creepy makeup! goodbye trent you will be missed in my household!!! <3 pics will be up as well as video we should make a dvd all together!

Otherwise and absolute phenomenal show start to finish 7th NIN show, saw them in 94, 95, 2000, twice in 2005, once in 2008 and this last time, and it's always a new fresh experience, absolutely surreal!!! I couldn't keep my jaw from remaining on the floor through Jane's Addiction, 2 of my biggest childhood heroes in one night!!!! Thank you Trent, Thank you... Overall, it was a great set. NIN should have headlined though, don't they have the bigger fanbase? Or was it just supposed to be like the old Lolla 91 days?

The Mansfield 06 show was a little more fun (it was actually dark out, it was louder, they headlined, and it had Down In It!) but this was damn close. For 3 shows in the Mass. area in 3 years, I've definitely gotten a great variety of songs.

New to me this time were Home, Metal, and The Becoming, which were all awesome. I was one of the few and proud that were prepared to groove to Metal.

La Mer and 3 that followed were something else, though. That suite of songs was profound, one of those time stopping show moments. The Fragile was INTENSE, people in the crowed were noticably wowed after. It also helped that it had just become completely dark out, and they had finally cranked the sound to a better volume, and there were a few stray drops of rain completing the atmosphere.

Wish was a great version, even though I've heard it a billion times.

The end of the set was pretty standard, a one song encore of Hurt (not one of my favorites) but I can understand doing it for sentimental reasons.
The show was well worth it just for the middle Fragile section and the other cool early songs. It's been great, NIN!

Jane's started off strong with 3 Days and Whores, I was tricked into thinking it was going to be a great set...then Perry started to totally lose it on the vocals. He was putting more effort into prancing and being an asshole than singing and performing the songs. His Boston speech almost made me pass out in my seat. That's when I decided it was time to leave, I think we beat the traffic rush just in time. I wanted to see if they did Stop!, but I don't know how great it would have been without spot on vocals.

First time I've been satisfied with a NIN show since With Teeth was released.

I would LOVE download links for any pictures/video/audio you guys got from NIN's set. I wasn't in a position to get anything...

ESPECIALLY that video somebody posted of La Mer earlier... any chance of a yousendit/megaupload/whatever of that one?

Also...

My 4th Nine Inch Nails show. I am bummed it's over. Trent had so much energy, and the show was very emotional. I want to know what the sign said that was help up at the beginning. I was right behind it. Trent's reaction was, "Ha ha, put that the fuck down." The speech before La Mer was intense. I have never heard him get so personal on stage. What was with all the drunk people falling on me. Some guy almost grabbed my crotch when he was falling. Luckily I caught his hand and pulled him up instead. There was some drunk guy getting yelled at by the staff, cause he almost fell down outside the bathrooms and cracked his head open. Who got the bloody nose in the pit? Anyway I got my pit tickets at the last minute, and had a blast. I have never been so close to the stage. Did everyone see the lit up venue during Hurt? Very cool. I had a blast and thank you all for making it fun for me and my crew. Kudos to whoever hit Perry in the head with a bottle cap. That's not easy to do since they don't fly straight, and he was moving around a lot. I thought he took it pretty well. The overall vibe there was awesome. I wish every show I went to was that enjoyable, NIN or not. I am really bummed, that might be the last time I see them. I wish I could have met Trent before he was done touring. *Deep breath*, hopefully I get another chance.

Had a great time at this show. Filmed the entire show in 1080p HD from the second row in front of Robin. Got some decent audio as well. I'm going over all of it now.

Saw 1,000,000 and Discipline from behind the stage, but I did miss Home (though we could hear it pretty well). I think they let us in during Somewhat Damaged.

Awesome photos, acidpoly. Looking through my stuff last night, I was amazed that I actually got some decent shots from the front of Section 8. (I'm really liking this IS zoom lens. With burst mode I have a fighting chance to get a few of them in focus, even with my shaky hands and slow shutter speeds.) But they can't compete with pictures from up front.

If I'd known we were only going to be backstage for half the set, I would have bought one of those pit tickets people were trying to sell.

Amazing show!! So happy to get La Mer and Becoming and Burn!!!! LOL

Lots of amazing people at this show is all I have to say!! Drove 4 hours from vermont and it was so worth it.

I have to say I was very impressed with Janes, man is Navaro a genius or what?

I bet you're the one I was watching as the show began. I was keeping an eye out for cameras, and I spotted a viewfinder near Robin. I thought it disappeared later in the set though - maybe someone's head was in the way. Regardless, I'd be very excited to see that footage shared!

Sounds good! It's far from a bad recording, but I might try to play around with it a little, since it sounds a little bit muddy. Any idea what this was recorded on? I'm still thinking about buying some gear for other shows in the future.

Oh, and as someone else already asked on Demonoid - any idea if there's a lossless version of this, or was this recorded on something that records directly to 128kb MP3?

I taped full audio (24 bit) of SSSC and NIN. I also got complete video for NIN, but taped on an old miniDV camcorder and have no idea how to transfer the footage yet.

What's the attack for? We're discussing a different source that's already been released; no one said anything about "boo hoo, no one taped the show". I'm not sure what the point of calling everyone lazy is...

All right guys, I'm working with the taper of the Demonoid source to get a lossless version up. From what I know so far, it sounds like they just weren't too familiar with the software they were using, and MP3 was the easiest option. We should be able to work out a FLAC version shortly...updates as they're available.

There were a couple of posts that seemed to believe there were no sources. So maybe the ones who responded weren't so much the lazy ones, but you sure are touchy...

Goddamn, another tasty recording from the show! For what it's worth, the link for Somewhat Damaged actually downloaded The Becoming. No big deal though...can't wait to hear the whole show!

Update on the Demonoid source: the (first time) taper recorded the show in 320kb MP3, so we're currently in the process of going back to the raw file and just splitting it into separate songs. Should be done in the next few days.

There are several other audio sources from the show, which I'm pretty excited about. Hopefully we'll hear them soon.
I'm glad that taper is going to share the best quality of his recording! The 192kbs he released was doubly bad since a) it was a lower quality from his original source and b) it means he essentially double-MP3ed - once in the original recording and then MP3ed the already MP3 file. Thus these raw 320 files will be a massive upgrade for his source. And now he'll know which settings he needs for his recorder next time!

EDIT: Yeah, the Somewhat Damaged and the Becoming links are switched. Whoops.
