Put simply, one of the best shows I have ever seen. A perfect way to say goodbye. I nearly had an 'emo' moment during Hurt. I think the combination of everyone singing along and knowing that this could well be the last NIN song I ever hear live in person almost got to me. For a band to make me nearly cry is some achievement.
Jane's Addiction were pretty solid. Mew were decent but the queues moved so slowly that we only saw the last three songs.

Everything just clicked together: great setlist that catered for casual and die hards, great crowd, amazing energy from the band, mad lights, and Gary FUCKING Numan! I think Trent was quite happy with the crowd as well and really enjoyed it.

Highlights for me were Big Comedown, Reptile, Heresy, Wish, Survivalism.... also, generally Ive been sick and tired of Hurt to close NIN shows, but this was the best performance of Hurt I have seen I think.
Ilan Rubin was fuckin excellent, massive sound and tonnes of energy.

Hurt was awesome. Everyone was mostly singing along and there weren't too many eejits in the crowd during it, unlike Brixton a couple of years back.
Yeah, I'm pretty stoked I got to see them. I was mightily relieved that the sound in the O2 was decent, I could pretty much hear everything for Nine Inch Nails and Jane's (but now Mew, which was annoying).

I'd never seen or heard more than a couple songs by Mew or Jane's before, and they both really impressed me (Dave Navarro is fucking HOT), but NIN were just...sublime. The setlist was fantastic, intense, the crowd were mobile and bouncy but not so much as to be unpleasant, and everyone seemed to be having a fuckin amazing time. And when Gary Numan took centre stage, everyone pretty much shit themselves. Finally, by the time Hurt was done, I was exhausted, sweat-drenched, sore, dishevelled, and crying a little. If this really is the end, then I couldn't have dreamed of a better send-off. Good show, guys. Good show.

Was a great version of Cars. So are any of you guys going to see Numan on the Pleasure Principle Tour? I would say do so as it will be a lot better than the standard set he does of late.

Awesome gig! Shame about the minimal Slip and Year Zero tracks, especially after seeing them the night before in Mancs and barely getting any then either. Still, got to see some amazing songs that Id never seen them play live before, and just the final version of Hurt was jaw dropping.
Mew were naff tbh, dreary pseudo indie-prog, though Janes Addiction were magnificent on both gigs.
(Oh and Ilan is the best drummer Ive seen them with.)

Ten years ago, my Dad and I saw NIN for the first time. Since then, they're the only band that have improved every time (no mean feat after amazing gigs at the Astoria and Brixton)
Last night was extraordinary. Great sound, audience not dampened by rain or the ludicrous queue for pre-sale collections, and the best band Trent's had (especially Doogie Howser on drums)
Didn't miss Closer as wasn't expecting it; if I had to pick a highlight, it would be The Fragile, but every greatest hit was great. Nice surprise to hear Down in it, and the Numan songs were a dream. (He's playing Shepherd's Bush the weekend after next - maybe he'll do Closer instead.)
Trent was in amazing form and it was fun seeing the keyboard go off the stage over and over (fortunately not hitting the constant stream of casualties from the pit)
If this really is the last time, they are going out at the top of their game. Not sure my Dad will be able to make it if they come back in a few years, but for now I've got memories not only of a sensational show but also a 71-year-old in an eyepatch and Wile E Coyote t-shirt dancing to The Hand That Feeds

Absolutely ridiculous! When The Downward Spiral got heavy it was almost a religious experience. I couldn't have asked for a better set and when Gary Numan came out it was just unbelievable.
Unfortunately my gig partner and I had to scoot early due to irritating train scheduling. (Later turned out we didn't have to. ARGH!) We jumped at the beginning of Cars as we had stretched it to the last second. But god damn...

I'm almost speechless from last night's gig thanks to my two biggest musical influences, and gods, sharing the same stage - Numan and Reznor, together at last!!
The setlist was to die for as well. Highlights for me were La Mer, the Now I'm Nothing intro (never seen it live before), The Becoming, Down In It, The Downward Spiral, Metal and Cars with Numan, and Hurt, which was a fitting wave goodbye to the touring incarnation of NIN.
From a personal point of view, I've seen them a few times over the last fifteen years, and so to have their final show augmented with Numan, who I've been a fan of for 30 years and have seen live countless times (literally 30 plus times over the years), was a dream come true.
As has been said, if you can get to see Numan at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in a couple of weeks, or on the Pleasure Principle tour at the end of the year you will NOT be disappointed.
Oh, BrunoMac, we saw your dad on the escalators at North Greenwich on the way in - I remarked how cool his shirt was to my partner's son.

Sixth time I’ve seen them, including the two Astoria shows in 2005, and I really think this was the best by quite a margin. Trent seemed to really be enjoying himself, the setlist was brilliant, the O2, despite being large, is a great venue with great sound, and Gary Numan’s guest appearance was absolutely awesome. I, and a few others here, had been predicting that he might join the band for Metal, but I never expected Cars!
Song highlights are hard to choose, as the whole set was great, but I’d go for The Becoming, The Fragile and The Big Come Down as my favourites. Down In It was an unexpected bonus, and I am very pleased to have seen Now I’m Nothing and Heresy live after all these years.

It was too good, even after sleep i feel dazed. There were some real assholes in the crowd, was like "Mate, just because i touched your back doesn't mean i am trying to barge you, so you can stop fucking ramming me back". Had to move in the end 'cus the 6"5 guy in front of me refused to edge slightly left so i could see a bit.
But after that, the best gig i have seen without a doubt in my mind. Haven't seen Trent put so much into a performance before, Gary Numan was UNFUCKINBELIEVABLE, the set list was incredible, the played The Big Comedown, which i have been saying i will die happy having seen, it was emotional but energetic and ...yeah. Just wow.
Allow the security guard at the rail who asked me for my number during Hurt though. I was not impressed. I let him know.

London was fantastic - very happy about Gary Numan turning up :D managed to get a seat upgrade too from Level 4 to Level 1 for free! Fantastic playlist - wonderful mix of old and new songs. Trent was on fine form, stomping about and throwing things haha. Lots of talking - we got a little story about 'Down In It' bless him. Wonderful to hear The Fragile, and La Mer pretty much had me in tears (I know, I know) because it's my very favourite song and it's sad to think I may never hear it live again.

Very cool show. Only downer was the eighteen year old 6ft 5 dude in front of me who enjoyed trying to backwards headbutt me whenever he flung his head back to yell "I love you Trent". Which was a lot.
Oh and the large nerd behind me with bad halitosis who knew all the words and boy did he want all of us on front of him to know it. He also reckons he has a voice like Meatloaf which, in terms of sheer volume he did. No mean feat to drown out Sir Reznor and his zillion watts of amplification.
Did anyone notice a blonde girl to the right of the stage as you looked at it in the elevated section. Shiny black dress and kind of short hair. Danced the WHOLE way through the set. She was very cool. My mate reckons it was the singer Pink. Anyone closer spot her?

Was right at the front and had an amazing fucking time. For me, La Mer was the highlight; I'd been waiting so long to hear that song played live and it certainly wasn't a disappointment. TDS, Non-Entity, The Fragile, Heresy, Down In It and 1,000,000 were also fuckin' sweet and to see Numan show up was absolutely insane, me and a bunch of dudes close by were laughing in hysterics 'cause it was just such an awesome surprise.
Trent and co. were on the ball, no doubt. I've never witnessed a band put so much into a performance as they did last night. Even Justin was going insane at times and I thought of him as a usually quite reserved kind of guy. Brilliant. Ilan is fuckin' amazing as a drummer, the double bass on one of the songs (MOTP, maybe) blew my mind, as did the synth on La Mer. It's rewarding to see a band give it their all for a crowd, it made me feel (as both an individual fan and a small part of the overall crowd) really appreciated and valued.
Probably the best NIN show I've ever been to, and without doubt one of the best concert experiences of my life. For me, it was an amalgamation of so many things, but at the heart it was what I've been waiting for for so long, which is to be at the front of a NIN show in a fuck off arena. It was bittersweet, but amazing in a way I can't even comprehend and I'm not forgetting this night any time soon.
I did like Mew, I liked their sound a lot and enjoyed most of their songs, but Special was the only one I knew well enough to get anything from. Jane's, however, blew my mind. I've liked them for a while, and understood their relevance, but fuck me they absolutely kicked ass last night a lot more than I was expecting them too. If it hadn't been NIN who were following, I could have gladly watched another hour of them. Whores was undoubtedly my favorite song of their set, and just to see the chemistry between Dave and Perry and the skill they played with was fantastic. Needless to say, I was pleasantly fuckin' surprised.
I took two friends with me who were pretty new to NIN and they both walked away from the show completely blown away, they said it was one of the best shows they'd been to, which was pretty cool. I picked up a poster, and one of each of the 'cube' and 'digital lines' tees, and overall had one of the most memorable nights of my life. It came and went so quickly, and before I knew it I was back outside again, but for those two hours nothing else mattered.
Trent and co. were on the ball, no doubt. I've never witnessed a band put so much into a performance as they did last night. Even Justin was going insane at times and I thought of him as a usually quite reserved kind of guy. Brilliant. Ilan is fuckin' amazing as a drummer, the double bass on one of the songs (MOTP, maybe) blew my mind, as did the synth on La Mer. It's rewarding to see a band give it their all for a crowd, it made me feel (as both an individual fan and a small part of the overall crowd) really appreciated and valued.
Probably the best NIN show I've ever been to, and without doubt one of the best concert experiences of my life. For me, it was an amalgamation of so many things, but at the heart it was what I've been waiting for for so long, which is to be at the front of a NIN show in a fuck off arena. It was bittersweet, but amazing in a way I can't even comprehend and I'm not forgetting this night any time soon.
I did like Mew, I liked their sound a lot and enjoyed most of their songs, but Special was the only one I knew well enough to get anything from. Jane's, however, blew my mind. I've liked them for a while, and understood their relevance, but fuck me they absolutely kicked ass last night a lot more than I was expecting them too. If it hadn't been NIN who were following, I could have gladly watched another hour of them. Whores was undoubtedly my favorite song of their set, and just to see the chemistry between Dave and Perry and the skill they played with was fantastic. Needless to say, I was pleasantly fuckin' surprised.
I took two friends with me who were pretty new to NIN and they both walked away from the show completely blown away, they said it was one of the best shows they'd been to, which was pretty cool. I picked up a poster, and one of each of the 'cube' and 'digital lines' tees, and overall had one of the most memorable nights of my life. It came and went so quickly, and before I knew it I was back outside again, but for those two hours nothing else mattered.

Couldn't believe the stupid queues out the front, one of the (very minor) benefits of having stupid tier 4 seats. We had to walk all the way round the building, and we were a million miles away from the stage, but at least we only missed half of the first Mew song. Fuck I love Mew. Hope I wasn't the only one there in a Mew shirt...
Then Jane's Addiction... er, completely forgettable. Perry sounds like a 12 year old girl, and the band are ok, but they were completely shat upon by what followed.

Just the perfect show, my first and probably last NIN gig but with a performance like that it'll last in the memory for a long time. Now I'm Nothing/Terrible Lie is even more epic live especially when it starts ramping up into TL and Trent was on fire knocking over the keyboard and smacking around his mic. Was it just me or was TR using his green fragile guitar at the start ? I couldn't quite make out whether he was or whether it was just the lighting.

I kinda ruined the Gary Numan suprise for myself, between bands I checked Twitter and the NINhotline re-tweeted a photo of dressing room direction signs with Gary Numan on it. I didn't think that they would play Cars though that was so good.
The show was just amazing. I thought Hurt would get me with a man-tear moment, but I was more emotional when Trent first walked in and started singing Now I'm Nothing. The setlist was actually all most perfect, Down In It!!1 (maybe put Last in

Amazing show the set list was great the sound was great and I was up front, couldn't be better, and I wasn't as annoyed by the lights as some people seems to have been.
I'm just sad its over and that I'm home in Sweden again.

Damn shame to not be centre barrier as with nearly every other nin show, but still enjoyed it. So long as the French girls got the centre rail space, as nobody else in that queue deserved it. The sound was good a bit further back, but the crowd were a bunch of pussies, even ten/fifteen rows back. Robins angry vocals were awesome last night.

I can't even begin to express how amazing this show was. Manchester was brilliant, as good as I could have hoped for my first NIN conert, but London was truly mindblowing.

Just pure amazingness. Highlights for me were The Becoming, La Mer and Gary "FUCKING" Numan. Might upload some pictures later if I have any good'uns.

I was devastated when they stopped me taking my camcorder in. Was soon cheered up by the show though. I thought Jane's Addiction were amazing, so much fun. Great video visuals too... wonder if they really will be London's house band now? heheh
NIN had me in tears of joy, I almost threw myself off the balcony a couple of times. Had been joking earlier in the day that it would be great if Gary Numan joined Nin onstage... one of the highlights of my life, also wished I'd joked about a few more things before the show!
If anyone has footage of this show I'd love a copy. Need to start compiling stuff to show the grandkids... granted I find someone to settle down and have children with who can handle me turning every conversation I'll ever have into a story about "the time Gary Numan joined Trent onstage in London and I was there".

Simply stunning performance. I've seen NIN a few times before, but this was the best show I've ever had the honour to see.

I don't think I have sung my heart out more ever in my life than I did last night.
Every song and moment just continued to amaze me. I was hoping that it would never end...
Trent put his heart and soul into the performance and you could really tell that it was a sad moment.
I'm glad to have been able to witness such a great person/musician in Trent Reznor on numerous occasions and the band...
The memories will live on forever....

10 years. That's how long I've waited to see NIN live. I wanted to during Fragility 1999, but never could have I was at school, had no money, plus they didn't come to Ireland). During 2006/7/8 I had several plans to, and none worked out. I've recently been sent to London to work, and didn't even have tickets until last week. I thought I'd missed out, but I eventually got a standing ticket. So I went to the O2 on my own (my friends would never join me to a NIN concert - not their cup of tea, although very disturbingly recently one of them tried to get me to go to a Whitesnake concert . . .)
I was looking forward to it, but it was so much better than I could have even imagined, even though I'm a serious NIN fan. Starting with Now I'm Nothing, Trent coming out with the house lights still up, what a start. Heresy was awesome, I couldn't stop smiling when that opening synth line was blasted out. I've never been a big fan of Reptile, but last night it sounded heavenly. La Mer was beautiful (I wasn't expecting it at all). When the heavy part of TDS kicked in; my God, it was one of the most incredible musical experiences I even had. Survivalism is about 300 times better live than on Year Zero - the bass drum during the verses is awesome. My favourite live NIN song from all the bootlegs I've listened to is Down In It. I never thought they'd play it. Hearing that little reversed bubbling intro; I started cheering and clapping even though everyone around me didn't seem to realise what it was. However they soon all joined in, and it got a serious sing-along going (probably second only to Hurt).
Numan making an appearance was amazing. I burst out laughing when Trent introduced him - I go to one NIN concert and it turns out to be like the best ever. Numan was great, and he had his own Moog set up at the front of the stage which he very intensely played. Numan and Trent on synths, like some sort of electro wet dream. Then, followed by Cars - absolutely ridiculously fantastic. It rocked so much; I really hope Rob posts that video. THTF may be overplayed, but last night it was like the greatest EBM song I've ever heard. So danceable.
Overall, easily the greatest concert I've ever been to. Trent, you are amazing. I cannot wait to see what other avenues his musical career goes down after this. NIN were, are, will always be, stunning.
Oh, I did see that girl with the silver dress dancing to EVERYTHING - she was cool.

Sorry to sound like a fan girl, but seriously, it was the best night of my life. Gary Numan was amazing and totally unexpected. And I shed a little tear at La Mer, it was just georgeous. And Burn and Reptile....I had a fit when I realised they were going to play that!!! Must stop now, else i'll just go on and on!

This was a truly awesome show, 4th time I've seen them and it exceeded all expectations. Great setlist and great sound, was good to see Robin back. I managed to get to close to the front. My clothes were soaking wet, reckon I lost half a stone!

Last night was a big night: the London stop of the NIN¦JA Wave Goodbye tour. This was my ninth time seeing Nine Inch Nails, and my second time seeing Jane’s Addiction. Trent Reznor has implied that there will be some sort of NIN hiatus for a while; this was a good show for me to see them go out on.
I was apprehensive about this gig being in the massive O2 arena. I had bought floor tickets during a presale, but it seemed thousands of others had as well because the queue to pickup the presale tickets took forever. This meant that I missed openers Mew, which was disappointing. I still got a position very close to the stage, though.
Jane’s Addiction gave Nine Inch Nails one of their first big breaks when JA invited the latter band to tour in the Lollapalooza festival in the early ’90s. This reunion tour is meant to bookend things before Trent goes on hiatus. NIN opened on the US dates, but are headlining here (which is fine by me).
JA were, all in all, just okay. Perry and the band tried hard, but it occurred to me that some of the band’s longer songs are better suited to an end-of-night comedown. While short fast faves like “Been Caught Stealing” and “Stop!” work well during an intro slot, and “Jane Says” is a good closer, opening with “Three Days” tested my patience a bit. The crowd were polite, though, and the band seemed happy enough.
NIN were a full-blown elemental force, however. While last night’s show will never be as good for me as seeing them on their comeback in the tiny Astoria, or some of the phenomenal Brixton Academy shows, this was really good.
What was good: Trent was really giving it. Lots of sweating and grunting and chucking stuff around the stage. He was not phoning it in.
And the setlist was good as a goodbye: only one song from each of the more recent albums, with plenty of Pretty Hate Machine, and The Downward Spiral, with a couple of tracks from The Fragile plus some non-album odds and ends.

Yes, that says “w/ Gary Numan” above for those two songs. Rumours had been running through the crowd beforehand, and they proved true: Trent introduced him to assist on the Numan cover of “Metal” they’ve been playing a lot this tour. But staying on to do “Cars” was a cool surprise.
What didn’t work so well: “I’m Afraid of Americans” wasn’t quite as cool live as I’d hoped. “The Hand That Feeds” felt a bit slower than they used to play it. And I’ve probably heard “Reptile” too many times now. Last night was a big night: the London stop of the NIN¦JA Wave Goodbye tour. This was my ninth time seeing Nine Inch Nails, and my second time seeing Jane’s Addiction. Trent Reznor has implied that there will be some sort of NIN hiatus for a while; this was a good show for me to see them go out on.
I was apprehensive about this gig being in the massive O2 arena. I had bought floor tickets during a presale, but it seemed thousands of others had as well because the queue to pickup the presale tickets took forever. This meant that I missed openers Mew, which was disappointing. I still got a position very close to the stage, though.
Jane’s Addiction gave Nine Inch Nails one of their first big breaks when JA invited the latter band to tour in the Lollapalooza festival in the early ’90s. This reunion tour is meant to bookend things before Trent goes on hiatus. NIN opened on the US dates, but are headlining here (which is fine by me).
JA were, all in all, just okay. Perry and the band tried hard, but it occurred to me that some of the band’s longer songs are better suited to an end-of-night comedown. While short fast faves like “Been Caught Stealing” and “Stop!” work well during an intro slot, and “Jane Says” is a good closer, opening with “Three Days” tested my patience a bit. The crowd were polite, though, and the band seemed happy enough.
NIN were a full-blown elemental force, however. While last night’s show will never be as good for me as seeing them on their comeback in the tiny Astoria, or some of the phenomenal Brixton Academy shows, this was really good.
What was good: Trent was really giving it. Lots of sweating and grunting and chucking stuff around the stage. He was not phoning it in.
And the setlist was good as a goodbye: only one song from each of the more recent albums, with plenty of Pretty Hate Machine, and The Downward Spiral, with a couple of tracks from The Fragile plus some non-album odds and ends.

Yes, that says “w/ Gary Numan” above for those two songs. Rumours had been running through the crowd beforehand, and they proved true: Trent introduced him to assist on the Numan cover of “Metal” they’ve been playing a lot this tour. But staying on to do “Cars” was a cool surprise.
What didn’t work so well: “I’m Afraid of Americans” wasn’t quite as cool live as I’d hoped. “The Hand That Feeds” felt a bit slower than they used to play it. And I’ve probably heard “Reptile” too many times now. Just back from London, I have to say that was one of the most amazing gigs I have ever had the pleasure of attending. Before this night it was Numan on his replicas tour not so long ago on my home turf. Everything went perfect for me, so pleased.
Queued for ages before the meet & greet but it was really worth it to meet my idol & his current band (I know he's only another fuckin' human being but it was all so surreal). My partner got the inside of Year Zero signed then Trent amusingly explained to her that the bible hand was, pointing over to Brett, his & that the hand holding the gun was, "not his" and that it was himself (pretty funny at the time). I myself got the deluxe box of AATCHB signed. I wished Trent good luck tonight & shook his hand after the group photo, I think he was genuinely appreciative. Got some great sneaky pics while signing. True it was a bummer bout the soundcheck & lack of individual photos but we were warned this may happen & I saw this coming to be honest.
Does anybody know if there's a link to the group pics knockin' around or is it a matter of waiting to get an e-mail?
Ran to the barrier quickly to grab a spot front & centre and was happy to end up in the 2nd row with my partner. Got some really good pics overall. Mew really did nothing for me & I was never truly a Janes fan but was nice to see them play all the same.
Loved the setlist (of which I got a copy of at the end). Ya gotta hand it to Reznor, the amount of emotion he put into some lyrics (Now I'm Nothing, The Fragile, Hurt) & the energy was insane! Still aching but it was a night I'll never forget. I know everyone has commented on this but Jesus Mary & Joseph it was amazing to see Numan up there with him, I did not see his name on paper backstage so it was a huge surprise for me. I have a great pic of the two maestros on synths during Cars it looks great at my particular angle.
I'll post all my pics up soon.

Joke is, literally 20 or so minutes after they asked for 2 50 for a cup of water, when NIN came on they started handing it out free. Fuckers. I was gonna buy some but the security guard who was trying it on shook his head as if to say, "Don't buy it". Stupid.
The funny thing is, it wasn't 'til i entered the arena i got really excited, and even then i didn't feel that sad at the prospect of it being the last NIN gig i'd see. But now i'm pretty gutted. Fingers crossed it's not permenant. I couldn't believe how soaked in sweat Trent was.
Also, did anyone think Mew were pretty shit? They had terrible stage presence. Even JA, who i didn't think did a brilliant set gave it alot of energy.
But yeah, rants about this show over from me. If it was a goodbye, Trent couldn't have done it better. We got Gary Numan, we got a fantastic set list that felt like it told a story, La Mer, The Big Comedown, The Becoming, Reptile, Down In It, the tambourine was not neglected, all in all - an incredible experience i would do all over again every day if i had the chance.

What a brilliant fucking show.
Completely missed Mew, arrived just as JA started playing. I didn't think too much of them personally, but they are definitely a great live band. I don't think there was a single song NIN played that I was dissapointed with or would have swapped for anything else. I was awestruck when Numan came on, then againX2 when they went into Cars. I predicted Hurt as a closer judging from previous NINJA setlists, and hoped it wouldnt be, but the atmosphere in that arena was just insane when it was being played. All those "fist fuck!" fists in the air for 'Wish' was an awesome thing to witness too, very cool.
My only gripe is ...what the fuck happened to NIN's apparent relaxed camera policy? My friend (who is a photographer who's been waiting since 07 to finally get some snaps of Trent in action) had his camera taken straight from him upon entering the 02..he was completely gutted, and it definitely affected the show for him. Other than that, an awesome first NIN show, and an awesome first time visiting London.

The relaxed camera policy was NEVER hinted at for the European shows by the nin camp, and the o2 are notoriously dickish when it comes to anything resembling a real camera.

The relaxed camera policy was enforced in Manchester - as it played havoc with the protocol for 'normal' photographers.
However, some staff there looked at my camera oddly.

btw, I use a small canon ixus70 camera and security never said anything when they saw it. Its very small but can make good videos photos , but the zoom is only 3x...
I went to the o2 on friday night (Ladytron gig @ matter) and it was such a strange feeling ... I really wanted an other NIN gig instead
Anyway, this o2 gig was unforgettable!
I just can't believe this 'wave goodbye' thing ..... Budapest will be my last NIN gig .... Sad

sorry it's a bit blurry, just taken in a hurry. anyway, prohibited items included professional cameras and camcorders - funnily enough, nothing was said about bringing in audio equipment though. ;)
by the way, i was lining up pretty early and i think i was among the first 30-40 people to be let in through the gate F. and still, mew were already halfway through their their set when i got in. what was that about, why the heck was there such a delay in letting people in? i'm not too pissed because i'm not a big mew fan anyway, but had it been some other band i know i would have been gutted. if i come lining up WELL in time then i DO expect to be let in and DO expect to get to see every support band too.

Regarding water at the O2 - via an email my friend got in response to her complaint:
Bottled water, soft drinks and alcohol are available at competitive prices from the retail outlets and hawkers in the Arena for all customers who wish to purchase it. It is normally served in plastic bottles with the tops removed.
However, for this concert the artistes’ production/security management had instructed that there were to be no bottles served anywhere on the standing floor i.e. all drinks soft or alcoholic in this location had to be decanted into plastic beakers before being served to the customer. This requirement was to obviate the possibility of bottles, containing whatever liquid, being thrown towards the stage. People located at the stage barrier at the front of the standing floor are offered the opportunity of purchasing bottled water from drinks hawkers temporarily located in the pit prior to the band appearing on stage if they wish to avail of it, just the same as it is available to other persons at other parts of the standing floor who have unlimited access to bars and retail outlets etc. I am sure that you will be aware that persons at the front are not minded to forego a favoured position secured at the front to visit an outlet and will clearly wish to retain their place whilst not prevented by virtue of their position from purchasing drinks if they wish to do so.
Notwithstanding this we provide drinking water fountains in the pit where security staff can dispense drinking water free of charge in small paper/plastic cups to those who indicate that they require it or where they consider that it would be beneficial to any person whom they consider to be in distress. There is also a medical area located adjacent to the pit where any person coming over or being taken over the barrier for whatever reason can be medically assessed before returning to the floor and again drinking water is freely available in this area.
I assure you that we are very mindful of the safety, comfort and health of all our customers and plan each event obviously to take into account the differing audience profiles, stage configurations and requirements that each event necessitates.

If you're throwing shit at the support act, why? Go do something else until they've finished. Have some fucking respect. If they're that fucking terrible, let them finish their set and make complete fools out themselves, then you'll never have to see them again.

However, for this concert the artistes’ production/security management had instructed that there were to be no bottles served anywhere on the standing floor i.e. all drinks soft or alcoholic in this location had to be decanted into plastic beakers before being served to the customer. This requirement was to obviate the possibility of bottles, containing whatever liquid, being thrown towards the stage. People located at the stage barrier at the front of the standing floor are offered the opportunity of purchasing bottled water from drinks hawkers temporarily located in the pit prior to the band appearing on stage if they wish to avail of it, just the same as it is available to other persons at other parts of the standing floor who have unlimited access to bars and retail outlets etc. I am sure that you will be aware that persons at the front are not minded to forego a favoured position secured at the front to visit an outlet and will clearly wish to retain their place whilst not prevented by virtue of their position from purchasing drinks if they wish to do so.
Notwithstanding this we provide drinking water fountains in the pit where security staff can dispense drinking water free of charge in small paper/plastic cups to those who indicate that they require it or where they consider that it would be beneficial to any person whom they consider to be in distress. There is also a medical area located adjacent to the pit where any person coming over or being taken over the barrier for whatever reason can be medically assessed before returning to the floor and again drinking water is freely available in this area.
I assure you that we are very mindful of the safety, comfort and health of all our customers and plan each event obviously to take into account the differing audience profiles, stage configurations and requirements that each event necessitates.

From what I could tell, they were only initially selling the water at the front (during the gap between JA and NIN). Then they started distributing it for free during the performances. But I could be wrong.

as icklekitty said, the REAL problem lies with people up the front who need/can see someone who needs water, I've never been to concert where the security did not give water readily to anyone who asked for it. As mentioned earlier one/two security staff did start to give out half-glasses during NIN but it was a token effort at most.

It's a fact that the majority of people don't know the first thing about things like FLAC, or bittorrent etc. They need to have a nice friendly link to an archive of mp3's which they can import straight to their lbrary. You've done a cracking job on that recording and promoted it in the best way (flac/dime) for the people who care. ps. imo FLAC is not difficult - people who know how to play an mp3 file will learn how to play flac in 2 seconds. to convert it for their mp3 players - another 2 seconds. all software needed for it is freeware. so if people really want to get to hear something, they could always bother that much. so, why not put up the flac version and write instructions how to handle flac, instead of this fiasco? i don't know. obviously just because the guy wanted to be mean and just wanted to have his "fuck you tapers" moment.
