Great show, although I was a little nervous between Health and NIN because a couple of the guys from the fire department were walking the venue. They even went out into the lobby and looked at the posted "maximum" sign. I guess all was well because I saw several people from the (massive) standby line walking in about 10-15 minutes later.

Utterly Amazing. Definitely agree that the crowd were great too. One hell of a set too, songs I thought I was bored of hearing live were excellently performed; to the point where it felt I hadn't seen them play them before.

Disappointed I didn't get an echoplex shirt, but it was one of, if not THE best gig of my life. Met Rob afterwards briefly and then Justin for a photo. What a night.

Leave in 10 minutes for the airport for my long journey home, couldn't sleep last night I had such a great time... the 23 hours I'll have spent in the air this week has certainly been worth it.

Thanks to all the locals for being so hospitable, and all the people that made similar journeys to L.A. for helping make this such a memorable and fitting farewell to the greatest band that ever was.

I got explosive diarrhea and blood filled vomit after 5 songs and had to get pulled out.

Show was good.

That was not.

Gina was hot.

The crowd had possibly only one proper cunt in who was barging before anything even started. Oh. And the guy who sold his +1 for $1000. So 2. But yeah. Such a better crowd than Palladium. Awesome.

It was hot as hell and there were multiple camera guys in the audience that pissed a lot of people off. But, overall great show and a good crowd I was able to get a guitar pick at the end.

I was trying to get an echoplex shirt for myself and some guy at the booth literally got 10-15 shirts and a crapload of posters right be before they got to me. I was the next person and I got the second to last Echoplex shirt (medium) for my + 1. There was a XXL left but that wasn't going to fit me or my +1 so I left it up for grabs rather than being a douche and selling it on Ebay. I did get the tour shirt (wrong dates and all) which is really nice with "1989 NIN 2009" on the front.

What an amazing show! I am still in recovery mode this morning! It was so wonderful to finally meet so many online folks I have chatted with over the years!

Everything about the show was all consuming...Health was really fascinating to me! I loved how Primal it was...sprinkled with electronics.

I will have to edit my post when I'm more coherent...but one of the things I really liked about this show was how it ran the gamut of the NIN catalogue. We had a little something from every album.

Funny moment: During The Frail I think, when it was during the really quiet part, people were chatting it up, and I yelled SHUT UP! really loud, and for a few blessed minutes, people did, and I heard the really quiet parts. Yay!

More later...have to attend to Real World Obligations before prepping for the Fonda.

I posted something like this on the nin.com forum before realizing that anything short of complete and utter adoration for Trent was frowned upon.

I had a pretty good time -- got there at a decent time, got to skip up ahead of the line due to a good friend waiting around, and then gave up most of the entire point of that to hang back by the soundboard. Even then, it was hotter than balls. I think that's the hottest I've been at a show, ever.

Tried grabbing merch afterwords, but it was impossible due to the people who felt the need to order 5+ shirts and 4+ posters at once. I don't mind buying for a friend, but it's a little annoying when one person becomes the pack mule for an entire group -- or in the case of that one 20-shirt-buying guy, a total douchebag.

Other than that, it was great to see everyone. Nin put on a fine show, as always. As this is my third show of the goodbye tour, however, I've kind of been waiting for some changes in the setlist? Something more unique? TDS was awesome to hear up in New York... but save for these special occurrences, Trent and Co. do seem to stick to a fairly default set list. No complaints -- but I will stop going to every show wide-eyed that I'll hear Get Down Make Love featuring special guests Chris Vrenna on the oboe and Kanye West as background vocals.

Anyway, just thoughts. A thousand thank-yous to the people who jumped out of the pit just to fetch water for everyone. Thought I was going to fall over and die a sweaty death in there. oof.

Just got back in to Raleigh from the West Coast. What a great weekend. I picked up Magnus on Saturday morning, and instead of bitching about the show changes, we just put addresses into the GPS and drove all around LA, Hollywood, and Santa Monica. We found this crazy-ass back road that got us pretty close to the Hollywood sign (hey, we were bored) - wound up being a horse ranch. Really cool place.

Got in line with the rest of the pigs around 4:00 or so. Great people in line - you guys were a blast. Apparently there was even a fetish model in front of us, and I'm still interested as to what Marc "did" to get a ticket, because when we asked, he replied "I'd rather not say."

Go into the venue and Magnus was going to get us each one shirt, and I went for the bar, when the aforementioned douche bag bought 20 shirts. What an asshole. He gobbled up 20% of the shirts supposedly made for the show before everyone was even in the door. Now trying to sell on Ebay for $250. I'll make my own with a magic marker now, you fucktard.

Crowd was surprisingly mostly good. I was stage-left in front of Robin. A few pushers and yellers here and there, but what do you expect - it's a NIN show. Good energy, and people were feeding off of it. But, as mentioned earlier, the second douche bag award goes to the cock that had his digital camera up the entire show - using it to record video. He didn't just have it to where it was high enough to clear the crowd, but his arms were extended as high as they could go - for the whole show. Seriously? There were people who had screens on their camcorder bigger than his digital cam that were not as obnoxious as he was.

After seeing NIN all over the East Coast it was great to be at that tiny venue. Highlights for me were Ruiner, Gave Up, The Way Out is Through and Gary Numan. I was glad there were a few posters left after the show, and we wound up taking a few other NINers back to their hotel - it was nice to meet you. Thanks, Trent and Co and the rest of you piggies for a great weekend.

I was pleasantly surprised by Health. much better and more enjoyable than last year.

hey guys.. it's marc here... aka "florida guy". probably the greatest concert experience of my life. it was a ridiculous roller coaster from the start. high-highs, low-lows, back and forth. In the end I got a ticket from a source who requested to be un-named.

I thank everyone who was supporting me as I paced back and forth with my obnoxious neon-orange sign. Thanks to the guy who took a picture of me to spread the word online.

I plan on writing up my entire adventure from having tickets, to flying to LA, to finding out I couldn't see NIN, to going to Echoplex and getting back home.

Right now I'm back in Orlando, jet-lagged a bit, but so thoroughly satisfied that I got to see someone who is a personal inspiration and whom I feel is one of the greatest musicians, ever, play with his band for the last time.

Aw. I'm glad to hear that you got to see the show! My friends and I felt for you, but having no actual way to help you, we were just kind of silently hoping that you'd be able to check out nin in some capacity. At least, we were pulling far more for you than the dude offering $200, no, $300, no $400 for a ticket...

Just got back to Boston, disapointed about Wiltern (couldn't stay till Thursday - WTF? Monday or Tuesday I could have pulled off - Echoplex was an AMAZING show and well worth the trip. In my opinion, of the 30 shows I've attended, last night was 2nd only behind Paris in July. Similar set lists, but Echoplex sux as a club to see a band like NIN. What's up with that sound board/wall? Horrible sight lines. Thankfully I was up front, getting to the venue before noon, but god damn was it hot and cramped.

The band was spot on. Can't wait to see some of the vids (NO DOUBT) - while the crowd kicked ass - Perfect !

Thank you Trent/NIN and everyone at Echoplex last night.

My last NIN show was truly memorable.

Good show, I had a BLAST in the pit. Ended up a couple people from the front on JMJ's side and had the coolest dude next to me, I wish I would have gotten his name. Had a bitch on the other side who thought that since she flew in from Japan she had every right to shove her fucking way to the front... kept shoving me into him and everyone else around me. Ugh. Despite that one bitch, crowd was GREAT. I actually had a little space around me most of the show and wasn't paranoid about my camera being annihilated. Really respectful crowd, made the show so much more enjoyable.

Sorry to hear about the asshole who bought all those shirts... No one is going to buy them at that price though. Hope he enjoys the 10 shirts he has. Jerk.

hell of an experience. got a little scary during MOTP, but a very unique atmosphere. crowd was what you'd expect. some people dont know how to enjoy themselves without bothering the person next to them.

Amazing show that I will never forget. Hot, loud, crowded and... did I mention hot? The quietest audience I have ever seen during "Hurt".

Excellent show, and a true marathon of a setlist! Best two song punch was definitely The Big Come Down (utterly bombastic) and The Way Out Is Through (totally epic).

While I very much appreciated the respect everyone showed the band by keeping the heckling minimal and appropriate, and shutting up for quiet songs, I do have to say the only drag about last night's show for me was that the crowd felt rather tame. I know everyone was probably thoroughly enjoying themselves as I was (especially the open-shirted, drugged out guy with the bicycle helmet who shat himself next to me.. damn), but I always have more fun seeing NIN with an energetic and boisterous (but not belligerent or violent) crowd. Granted, Echoplex doesn't allow for much movement at all with a packed house, but it was a slight bummer how stand-still the audience was. Seeing NIN without having hundreds of people behind you squeezing and swaying you in every which direction, some goofball jumping up and down on your toes, or leaving the venue covered in your and 20 other peoples sweat is just not the full NIN live experience IMO. For instance, if it wasn't for the buffoonish heckling and the cig thrown at Gary Numan, I thought the Palladium show had a much more satisfying and invigorating crowd experience than last night. Call me crazy, but that's just how I feel.

Regardless, I had a hell of a good time and chatted with some cool people before the show. Oh yeah, and NIN destroyed. I've never been a big fan of Physical (You're So) until hearing it live, so that was my nice surprise of the night. Woot!

In terms of sound (probably because I was close to a speaker) it was ear-shattering, but/and it was really interesting to watch the guys play with all their pedals and knobs and twiddlers with the knowledge that the only raw input was a guitar.

Thanks to Christo I got a place in the middle of the barrier for the show (see he's not always a racist cunt) which also allowed Torgo to get a clear view of the stage. I can't really remember what was played (without checking to see what others posted here) but it was a big ball of fantastic, and a great one to go out on for this tour. For some reason I bawled during two songs I don't have that much of a connection to (Ruiner, and that one about telemarketing). Hearing I Die, You Die was great - I knew within a couple of seconds of the song starting why that pungasmic song was chosen, but I wish I'd paid more attention to the song on CD in the past so that I wouldn't have to wing singing along. I hope Gary doesn't guest to sing My Shadow in Vain this week, or I'll have to cause Jihad on Los Angeles.

I didn't really want to leave after the show, but there's only so many times you can run back and forth across an LA street without getting run over. If you heard Wannabe or Backstreet's Back at this point in the evening, that was us, driving questionably due to laughter.

I agree. I love how they transitioned between pieces without pause, something that I wish more rock bands could emulate the rave sensibility.

I saw these guys in the upstairs club The Echo about 3 years ago for a hodge-podged local band night and they were AWFUL! The Cousin It bass player opened that show without his bass plugged in and was still thrashing about for at least a minute or two before he realized what was going on, haha. They have a nice little success story now that I got to witness without intention; yay for Health!

^^I liked them so much better this tour. I'd pay to see them again on their own.

I know where Monkey was standing and it was far enough away that the Shit Hand couldn't have been him. It was either the girl next to me on the left or the one behind me. Not the girl on the right, in case she is ever reading this. She was a doll and smelled fine. I sure hope that chick had some hand sanitizer afterward to use before she touched anyone. It must have been under her fingernails. Disgusting.

Also can I say, I know I take pictures and I'm sure there are people who get briefly annoyed, but I do not EVER hold my camera up for the entire goddamn show, or even the majority of the show, or even a quarter of the show. Twice now in a week I have had my view of Trent and Justin completely blocked by people recording the whole thing. Guess what, you're not Scorsese with your little P&S camera and never will be, and your upraised arm takes up more than your fairly allotted space. If you really want to tape, get there really early so you can get center rail and thus block the fewest people possible. And put the camera down sometimes.

Dance, dance dance! Fantastic show. Lost my mind during the whole 1st half & gave what I had left thereafter in doses. At the back of the club empty bathroom mirrors were steamed.

Back in VA. The show was fun but to me it was over rated. It was cool to skip the line and just show up. Got the chance to buy merch & a drink, a first. Got to see the guys from HEALTH walking around and Trent Vanegas. Me and my friend still made it on the rail but the speakers blocked Robin. I'm curious 'bout something, this girl who came from France was standing in line two days before and I saw her walking around the venue, I felt bad 'coz I remember seeing her line up super early(including the Palladium) Los Angeles was amazing, I can't wait to go thru all my pictures.

I must have walked behind you when I got out. I was right in front of Robin, second row. I left right after La Mer finished. You probably squished forward for me so I could leave. Sorry if I rubbed my sweat on you!

@UrbanLegend: thanks very much. I saw your location and saw your post where you were standing during the show; you're not Mark the vegetarian, are you? If so it was fun hanging around a bit. Glad those two VIP chicks didn't make it! I knew they wouldn't last more than a couple of songs.

I can't stop thinking about how awesome this show was. I feel so fortunate to have been able to have been there. Man.. I watched one of the posted videos of hurt played at this show... the silence is deafening at 3:00.. i've never heard that, like some people have said. It was so powerful. I knew Hurt was going to be the last song, and the last time I see NIN perform.. atleast for a long long time... i got a bit choked up towards the end. Man.. what a great night.

Around 5:30 or 6PM I was hot and sweating, the LA sun starting to make it’s way down behind some buildings. I had perched up near the end of the line, hoping any newcomers might have a spare ticket. I had gotten a few emails over the time while I was hunting for tickets. Some of them stated that they “might” have a ticket and “may” show up to the show at some point. I wasn’t betting on this. I decided to check Craigslist again.

“Two tickets and guest passes to the NIN show at Echoplex tonight for $1000. Call this number…”
