Fucking.WOW. This was such an amazing show. Aside from the small likelihood of ever meeting Trent himself, this will most likely go down as my ultimate NIN experience. My sister and I got in line around 4 or so and were about 200 people back. About 20 minutes before the doors opened, one of the roadies came to talk to a couple of people near us who had been to last night's show and I had the honor of taking a picture of them all together.

That was pretty neat, and I couldn't help but admire Roadie's awesome digital camera *insert techygeek smiley here* He was a very cool guy.
The Dresden Dolls definitely surpassed my expectations. Man, do they know how to play. I was impressed with them both. Some of the songs seemed long, but they were very well-played, so no complaints.
Just before Trent & Co. came out, some (VERY) drunk idiot was trying to push himself and his girlfriend (who looked like she was passing out) to the front. Naturally, this pissed a lot of people off and security eventually removed the prick. Good riddance.
The setlist did include The Collector, as I recall. I remember the song being played, so if it really wasn't, I must've been around even more pot than I was aware of. hehe. For Wish and Sin, were were smack in the middle of the mosh pit. I have the bruises and sore muscles to prove it.

It was fun for awhile, but since my sister and I are both so damn short, it was harder than hell to see what was happening onstage. We were separated in the midst of the chaos, and when I couldn't find her after Sin, I figured that she had backed off and I decided to do the same thing. I went a few rows back and got a great view of Trent for the rest of the show and rocked out with the girl standing next to me, who was just as excited as I was to be there and knew the words to every song, just as I did. We would occasionally look at each other in a "hell yeah!" expression just after we would both chant some some set of lyrics that (seemingly) no one else knew completely. That was too much fun.
Overall, what a killer of a show. Awesome fucking setlist. I don't recall any tracks from The Fragile, either, which occurred to me on the drive home. The band sounded incedible. Trent definitely looks good; he wore a black tank top that showed off his buff arms.

Aaron must have calmed down in comparison to previous shows, because I didn't see him pulling any crazy stunts prior to the stage dive at the end. Hell fucking yeah.

We met some very cool people before and during the show, which was a bonus to an experience that belongs at the very top of my list of "bitchin' happenings of 2005."
The only downside to something this cool is The Big Comedown, if you will. I am still on such a euphoric high but at the same time feel exhausted, slowing down but with way too much adrenaline still running through me. Coming home and returning to mundane life feels strange after something like this, but it had to happen sometime.
